The laboratory is mostly high technology and shiny. Around the walls, machines of various types lurk, including a large double fronted cooler and something that looks as if it will hold small vials of liquid and then spin them. In the centre of the room, a large metal table stands, without a spot of dirt on it. To one side, a couple of computer screens and a keyboard, clearly connected to the computer on the floor beneath them. The door and windows to the corridor outside have blinds for privacy, and the only natural light comes from the high windows in the wall. The walls themselves are painted pure, clean white, the floor is tiled with white tiles. Overall the room is clinical looking, and a peg behind the door holds several white coats.

The current game time is: Wed Sep 28 01:36:23 106 PA.

Maya is absorbed in work of sorts, the music on loud and her voice joining in with it as she almost dances between machines, causing beeps of all manner as she presses buttons. Finally, as the door is knocked upon, she is seated on a rolling stool. One push of her boots on the floor send it spinning towards the door, her plaits bouncing with the movement. She tugs the door open, leaning back to look through the gap. "Yup?" Her answer is brief but cheerful, until she sees who the knocker was. "Ah, Alistair..." She rises from the stool, pushing it behind her and straightening her skirt before opening the door properly. "What can I... I mean, I guess I know what I can do but..."

At least it isn't as if he's been coming here every day and camping out - Alistair steps back from the door a little. He looks just a bit tired, and naturally the cheer gone as before. He does manage a little smile though. "I know, I can't come in" he replies, wringing his hands a little. "I was wondering if you could tell me anything, but I understand if not, too ... "

Alistair is at the door of the lab, actually a step back from it - Maya appears to have opened the door, and it seems liek her cheer might be supressed at the moment as well - Ali is replying to her currently: "I know, I can't come in" he replies, wringing his hands a little. "I was wondering if you could tell me anything, but I understand if not, too ... "

Maya's hands sneak into the white coat, the steady gaze on his face. "I've turned it all over to the KDPD, Alistair. There isn't much more to tell..." Her voice is low, deliberately so to avoid being overheard and she glances up and down the corridor before she reaches out, grabbing his collar and tugging him into the door, shutting it behind him. "You are going to compromise the case I made though, coming over here." A hesitation and she reaches out again, hugging him, Maya-style, her eyes worried. "You look like shit."

"But I also work he-" there's a sound of surprise as he's pulled in, and then he relaxes a little in the hug, though the level of relaxation is certainly relative - "I'm just a little tired. I'm sorry, if it'll do something bad I should leave, then - they are using Cali ... to make Miss Sage marry that man, and I can't let them hurt her."

Vixen comes along a bit after Alistair, quietly moving through the hospital. She's chosen to dress up today, as in wearing her heavy combat armor. But she's good and relinquishes her weapons on entry. She keeps her helmet on. It might disguise her somewhat with the genericness of her heavy armor, but she's still none too tall. The gauntlet helps make the knock nice and loud, however, as she bangs on the door.

Maya's expression as she releases him suggests he hasn't lowered the concern she feels. "I don't know, I just delivered the results." A hesitation and she turns away, returning the stool to her desk and pressing a couple of meaningless keys. The instant before Vixen's door banging knock sounds, she turns, as if to speak. But then, the knock happens and she walks towards the door, opening it cautiously, preventing Alistair from being seen from outside. "Yeah?"

"But you can't say what they were?" Alistair asks, watching her for a moment - then, he apparently has the presence of mind to move aside where he can't be seen from the door - if possible, he even goes behind a cabinet or corner.

"You letting me in or should I get an invitation?" Vixen's voice, even low and piped through artificial systems, is clear enough, cadence and tone. "We ain't done current events for a while." Her arms lift, loosely crossing her chest, not shifting her attention away from the other woman.

Maya glances up the corridor, stepping back to let Vixen in. "What is this, drop in the lab day?" The words are mumbled beneath her breath and she closes the door behind the other woman, snapping the blinds shut. "Alistair is over there, behind the cabinets." She moves back to the computer, pressing buttons rapidly, shutting programs down before she turns to face them. "So, reports delivered to the KDPD. Results complete."

Alistair peeks out from behind the cabinet and waves a hand at Vixen. Looking back to Maya then he blushes and nods, sighing, "Thanks you Miss Maya" he says, coming out from behind the cabinets and starting a slow pace to the door.

Vixen moves on and, when directed, glances towards where Alistair emerges, giving him a nod. She lifts her hands, releasing and unsealing her helmet carefully. A toss of head and casual grin worn as she looks back towards Maya. "I guess there's just one thing I need to know about it. Did she do it on purpose or on accident?" She doesn't sound like she's all that concerned with the answer however. "I wanna know what's what before I try and get into see her."

Maya slides her hands into her pockets, giving both a long silent stare before she sighs. Throwing up her hands, she turns, reactivating the computer. "Ok, fine." She makes several clicks, bringing some results on screen. "Ok, here is the ballistics. Definitely her bullet, as if it was in doubt." Another few clicks. "Autopsy. Confirmed cause of death. Trajectory shows it went upwards, through his lungs into his heart. That suggests it was shot from below." She clicks a few more times, closing them down. "Those are all I've got. They've got psychics on it, I heard."

Alistair looks towards Vixen, and the Maya. Seeing the results he pauses, probably tries to say something like 'thank you', mouthing it instead. A sigh follows, along with indications that he's entering that emotional spiral of doom when loads of tension is released. He probably knows it isn't the end of it, but who knows.

"And you said she got knocked over?" Vixen glances at Alistair, a brow arched. "Sounds right. Easy for a gun to go off if you get dogpiled onto." She then considers him and takes a step over, giving him a light knock on the shoulder. A little more firm than normal with the gauntlet and all. "Buck up, man. It'll get handled. You should go vent some of what you got inside. Something rough but safe. It'll let you get some of it out." She then glances back towards Maya. "Didn't hear nothing from you," she asserts simply.

"I never said a thing." Maya's comment is dry, and she glances between the pair. "If this gets me fired, I'll come after you both with a scalpel." She leans against her stool, perching rather than sitting properly. "I'd offer to help with the venting but I don't think ..." A flicker of her grin, but her eyes remain cautious, nervously glancing towards the door.

"She did" says Alistair, working to get his breathing under control - not that it was going nuts before, but he seems to have felt to do so. "No, I - that would be bad, venting, very bad" his eyes widen a little, and he pauses there for a moment, looking to Vixen, "If you see her, can you just tell her that I know she's innocent and that I love her, and that everyone is waiting for her to be released?" he asks, and then looks to Maya. "Oh - yes, well. I mean ... I was just curious as to what things you like to study - what do you like to study?" he asks, a very faint blush appearing, that perhaps a sign that he's a bit more under control than he himself thought he was.

Vixen smirks faintly at that, not seeming too worried about the potential. She then looks to Alistair and shakes her head. "Play sports, exercise, pound away at a vid game. I don't mean go drink or some shit like that, man. Nothing wrong with any of those." SHe does not to his request and then murmurs, "I'll go first. Better to not see both of us leaving at the same time, I think." She lifts her helmet to fit it back into place.

Maya nods slowly, giving Vixen a thoughtful look. "Yeah, because we'd not like to incriminate the nice lady..." That is a murmur, irony in her voice. "Me? Study? Physiology, psychology, games people play, different species..." She shrugs lightly, moving to open the door, to glance outside. "Your coast is clear, agent Vixen..." The dry humour in her voice belies the anxiety in her eyes, but the grin returns, washing them away. "Out, both of you. I'll see you in the Alibi after work."

"Ah ... " Alistair nods, and sets out to leave. "Have a good night, Miss Maya, we'll meet again later I'm certain" he says, and then he heads out behinx Vixen - but he gets to tuck into a class, where he is legitimately supposed to be working.

"Don't knock it, chick. Never can be too careful about some things," Vixen notes before she slips out into the hall and makes her exit.
