Sep 25 13:04:34 106 PA - Tirzah and Flare Vent
From Chronicles
Kingsdale - Main Street North
Late afternoon Tirzah steps out of the KDPD just as the spittle starts to come down. Her pace is quick yet stiff as she descends the stairs to the street. Her one hand is closed in a tight fist, her other seems to be gesturing to herself in frustration at her side. She turns and heads north, her expression firm with intent.
Flare is coming from the north at the moment. She had just went and left a message at the garden to try and arrange a meeting to check on Sage and spies Tirzah coming out of the station. She cocks her head to the side and heads towards the woman, she being the other person that Flare really wanted to check on, "Tirzah?" she calls out as she gets closer, sort of a greeting and a question.
Tirzah's gaze turns to the questioning address as she makes her way away from the KDPD and towards the plaza. Her eyes show recognition and she nods slightly to Flare. "Need to go, need to vent." She answers in explanation as they near. "Outside, a few miles northeast." She continues, freely repeating her intentions to Flare.
Flare cocks her head to the side and moves to walk with her, "Vent? Are you okay?" she sounds a bit concerned, "I did what I could, guess all it really was though was to provide a mostly neutral accounting of the facts." she looks at Tirzah one of the few she would consider a friend in the city.
Tirzah doesnt slow, mandating a brisk pace north through the city. "I'll cope. Can't pursue, cant punish, cant consume, must burn." is her basic reply, lacking much in the way of tone. "Frustrated.." She pauses her elboration to look back to Flare as her gait continues. "You'll come?" She seems to half ask, insisting the affirmative answer.
Flare nods as she moves to keep up the pace. She looks at her and nods, "I can see how that would be frustrating. I heard Sage was alright though haven't been able to run into her yet." she says softly, "I will come." she moves to travel along, curious and concerned at the same time.
"Sage is fine. Must hold faith in Sage.." She trails off to continue out of the city in silence. She leads to the landing strip where her hovercycle waits beside a corporate hangar. Mounting in she invites Flare to join her on it. "Hang on." She instructs as her body smolders.
Flare holds on tightly as they go, being used to being on a hovercycle it appears. The smoldering doesn't bother her either as she waits to see where they are going.
The advice is definitely well warranted as she spares none of the throttle for the trip. Quickly they whip past the outlying farms and over the rich woods. Continuing northeast past harpers wood to a small bog. The trees stand decaying and the smell is rich with rot among the damp atmosphere. She lands the cycle there, stepping onto a mound of earth the seems to float in the surrounding muck. As soon as she is away from the cycle her body erupts in bright blue magical flame.
Flare cocks her head to the side as she gets off the bike and moves over towards her not minding the flames, after all at this point Flare knows that flames of no kind can ever harm her.
Her one hand has been oddly clenched the entire trip forcing her to pilot one handed and remains so. Looking up she raised the free hand into the air and the flames seem to condense about it as she draws from her link to the elemental plane. The culmination of this is a tongue of blue flame the licks out 20 feet into the air.
Flare cocks her head to the side a bit, for the moment just being here for her friend. She does step a little away from Tirzah, not cause she is worried of the flames but not sure her friend is as fireproof. She watches and even so flames start to lick up her feet, legs and torso, before she is surrounded in reddish orange flames.
"How dare they?!" Tirzah suddenly shrieks as she directs her embalmed hand at one of the near by dead trees. The charring effect on it quite drastic as the blue flame eats away the damp wood of the trunk like a thousand blowtorches. The tree instantly ignites, engulfed by bright yellow flames outside the touch of the magical blues.
Flare cocks her head to the side, "How dare they attack Sage?" she asks softly, trying to help her friend, maybe coax it out a little faster. She does gesture towards one of the other trees which is engulfed in a pillar of fire, soon burning on its own.
The question does seem to provoke her as her fist tightens and the assault continues as the trunk succumbs to the direct assault and the tree plummets into the mire with much hissing and steam. It gets worse as Tirzah doesn't seem content with letting the tree escape and continues to direct the blue tongue at the tree, scorching it and causing the swamp water to boil and burn. An awful stench fills the air about her. "They shall not attack my air." She seems to remind the swamp and herself as she smiles slightly.
Flare cocks her head to the side a bit, "You're air?" she asks as she looks at her friend and watches her attack the tree more and more, her own rippling with flames and starting to crumble.
For a few minutes Tirzah is silent as she continues to consume the floating tree, seeming to take satisfaction in the relentless furry. But as her flames flicker and extinguish she pauses, considering the charred husk sitting in the distinctly thicker muck about her. She wrinkles her nose slightly at the smell of burnt decay in the air before she seems to stop breathing for minutes at a time. Turning to Flare she considers the burster for a moment of clarity. "Fire needs air to burn. Sage is my air." She tells her friend. "I'm supposed to protect her. But with them, Sage has demanded my lenience."
Flare nods, "Ah," she says softly, "Well it makes sense a little, if you do to them what you wish, it could result in losing your air still, after all if you attack them now, the penalty would be death." she shakes her head a bit, "Give her the chance, and protect." she says, "Protecting doesn't always require being agressive." she sighs a little, "I really wished I could have done more, I should have done more."
Tirzah shakes her head slightly with a sigh as she holds up her hand and starts to concentrate. "I can't be everywhere, or the incident would not have occurred at all. No, protection is not always enough. Sometimes a threat must be engaged before it finds you vulnerable." Then a small flash is released and she holds a globe looking to contain more blue fire in the open hand. "If I did not wish to be caught, they could not catch me. I can survive the Dregs indefinitely. But still, Sage would not tolerate that so you are right in principle." She corrects before throwing the globe at a small island of trees in the muck. It explodes on contact, engulfing the island and consuming all with much more furry than her previous spells.
Flare cocks her head to the side and nods, "Yes sometimes it isn't. They came with an altercation planned." she shakes her head a bit, "But while you could survive there, I know you could, cause I have." she shakes her head, "You would lose your air still cause it could cost you Sage yes? I know what that would mean in part." she flushes a bit, hidden by the flames around her, she has someone now that she doesn't want to part from.
Tirzah nods slightly as Flare follows without err. "And so all this power and furry is completely impotent in the court of politics. There is nothing I can do, but wait. Which I managed before, but now, seems like I'm waiting for the next inevitable incident. The possible cost looming and making my stomach turn. If I still lose her what has my restrained gained me?" She asks before conjuring a trio of lightning balls, crackling with deadly force. She releases them to surround another small island, consuming it much like the last.
Flare nods, "So hire her a bodyguard, or something, you can't be with her all the time, but there are precautions to be taken." she shakes her head a bit, "Find another outlet for the rage and fury."
Tirzah shakes her head slowly as she comes to a realization. "No, I will simply have to return to her side and stay there until this is past. I'll trust this to no other. All my other interests can wait. My job suspended, if I'm not already fired for being arrested before work. If my personal life is to be on hold until this is resolved then it might as well be my whole life, as it is clear they are not independent." She decides with some satisfaction. "This will keep the furry from building in frustration." She states as the blue flames engulf her again and she takes to burning more of the swamp by hand.
Flare nods a bit, "Well maybe just get the job put on hold, not sure where you work." she says softly, "But I understand. If you need any help..." she says and leaves the offer hanging for a moment.
Tirzah nods slightly as she continues alight. "Jelani's adventures, I'm a guide for excursions to dangerous places." She answers without hesitation before looking back to consider Flare with a smirk. "It is interesting, despite my tongue and temper, there never seems to be a shortage a friends to help me get by. I think it is one of the reasons I pay no head to the negative opinions some hold of me." She remarks with a slight nod. "And thank you, I will tell you if the need arises."
Flare nods and smiles, "It sounds like an interesting place, almost should look into something like that, though my boyfriend wants me to take up Firedancing, and preform at like the Alibi." she flushes a bit.
Tirzah grins at the implication with a nod. "Well you are quite attractive and already hold an affinity to fire. If you like dancing then it seems like a good fit. It probably pays better than being a guide too, and lacks much of the risk. Of course, if you're like me, risk is the whole point." She replies before considering the mention of the boyfriend. "Oh so you're not single all of a sudden? Can't really claim to be surprised. You are quite the looker."
Flare nods and smiles, "Not the best dancer, but I can learn I am sure." she says softly and then cocks her head to the side. She flushes again, "Um, yeah it kind of happened suddenly, but, um, yeah." she seems like a school girl, shy all of a sudden, "We have a place at Coventry."
Tirzah blinks, looking surprised by the mention of the Coventry. "Coventry? That's certainly outside of my pay grade. You sure you need to work?" She asks with a hinting smile as her flames die out again and aside from the mound where they stand the swamp smolders in ruin. "And if you don't want to perform you should just tell him what you do want to do. Men are programmed to think they have to shelter and protect their mates. If you let him he'll have you in a gilded cage before you even realize it." She warns as she turns back to approach her cycle.
Flare shakes her head a bit and smiles, "Don't think Xander is like that, and he picked the place." she flushes, "You should see it, it is beautiful." she says and flushes a bit, "And something just fits with him. Of course the fact that I didn't set him on fire helps too." she giggles a little and then moves back over with her, "Well I want to be able to feel like I am paying my own way too."
Tirzah shrugs, deciding to accept Flare's words at face value as she mounts the cycle and invites Flare to join her. "Well good for you then. Someone ought to be getting good luck in this world. See no reason why it cant be you." She encourges before taking a moment to conjure another fireglobe and hand it back to Flare. "When we go throw this at the last mound, dont want to leave the job unfinished." She instructs.
Flare cocks her head to the side and looks at her, "You have good luck, you have Sage, I have seen you two together." she says softly and then takes the globe and nods, "Alright." and waits to do just that.
Tirzah shrugs as she starts to ascend with the cycle. "That possession is quite contested at the moment. But we can settle for that fact that i wont be letting go of her." She relents before zipping back to town once the last mound is aflame.
