Cassius is standing around. Literally, the young man just looking up and around at the buidlings. Prehaps he's a little lost, prehaps he's a little awed. The young man just bobbing his head. "Definetly not like home..." he mummers to himself. Taking the time to adjust his robes, heavy with road dust, a big heavy pack and looking just like the recent arrival.

Wandering south along the street is an odd pair. Odd, yet familiar to some. A small Inuit woman walks at the side of a polar bear which happens to stand taller than what she does. The great white bear has a strictly protective appearance to him, his attention keenly upon their surroundings. Walking at his right side, Monique lifts her left hand to lightly touch his fur, then speaks something in a whispered tone, the words definitely not english or anything like it. Tornaq lowers his head slightly and gives a brief rumble and a soft whuff of air as the pair continue their walk through the area.

Cassius is lookin...lookin and...woah bear! He stops, and watchs you walk across the street with your giant polar bear. "Oh wow...look at that, that's not just a bear that's a..." he snaps his fingers, snap snap snap trying to think about the name of it, "uhhhh...ya, Polar Bear!" he points. "That's a beatuiful Bear ma'am, wow, how did you get him all the way down here?"

Most folk tend to move out of the great bear's path out of habit, it would seem. A hint of a smile touches at the corners of Monique's lips, and she takes a moment to look up at the bear, giving him a light pat before she lowers her hand. He's larger than his brethren polar bears, and he pauses to give himself a thorough shake before taking a long stride to catch up with his petite shaman again. At hearing the words, Monique pauses and tilts her head slightly to one side, her gaze turning to the man who had spoken. "He is Tornaq," she says softly, her words haunted with a gutteral sort of accent which comes from Inuit being her native language. The great white bear stares at the man with a measuring look, one of his front paws rising as he weighs the threat of this particular person. As he does with all people. "We walked here, sir," she adds, one of her eyebrows raising slightly.

Cassius appears not to have much fear of the bear. Some of it is youth, some of it is curiosity, and some of it is the understanding that it can't be a wild bear, out of it's habitate and just walking calmly down the street. "Ya, they only had black bears in the show I was with. Look at that, his coat is beauitful. He turns up, Tornaq? Uh huh? Well, you can call me Cassius. Hello Ma'am" he takes a step towards the small inuit woman...though he does walk AROUND the bear. Not getting within a paw swipe range. Charge range ya, but no need to do anything totally silly. The teenager looks well built, but is dressed in a fancy looking robe.

Ah, but sometimes things aren't always as they seem. Tornaq is neither wild nor tame, though most folk don't realise that, just as most don't realise that he's more than what he seems to be. Of course, the latter of that rather suits the purposes of both spirit bear and shaman alike. the already raised eyebrows quirks upwards a touch more, and Monique watches the young man make his circle about the great white bear, who is at least tolerant to the activity. "He tends towards keeping it that way, as do I. My name is Monique," she offers then, in response to being offered his name. Tornaq lowers his head to lightly touch the small Inuit woman's shoulder, nudging her faintly and giving a soft whuff of air.

Cassius grins and he offers his hand in the American style of greeting. Offering a handshake, "Well I'm new in town, looks like you just walked in yourself? Coming from the magic zone?" he asks and lifts his head up, turning his head towards the west before he turns back to Monique. "So hello to you, and Tornaq of course" his smile remains on his face, and he seems to exude confidance in himself. He will try to keep away from the bear, so far he just thinks he's trained and not anything more.

Monique tilts her head slightly to one side, and she reaches a hand out to accept the handshake, having developed a certain familiarity for the gesture. Not that she really knew it before coming here, mind. A smile touches at the corners of her lips, and then she lightly shakes her head. "I have been here, in Kingsdale, for some months now. Tornaq and I, we walked here, from the North," she says softly, her tone thoughtful and her words yet touched with her accent. She speaks well enough english, but some of the words don't quite have the correct sound on some of the syllables. Tornaq eyes the young man with a certain measure of wariness, then whuffs softly before lowering his front paw to the ground, seeming to settle into a habitually protective stance next to Monique.

Cassius looks over at Tornaq and lifts a hand up too, "I don't know how to shake hands with a bear...uh...hm, how does he like to be greeted?" he asks you, turning back. "Oh so you've been here a couple of months? You have any suggestions...about where things are, or in general. I mean I wouldn't mind getting some advice." he speaks with some western highlights. The standard American twang that's adapted from the old empire.

The great white bear studies the offered hand, then looks to Monique for a lingering moment, exhaling a whuff of air before bringing his attention back to that hand. Lowering his head to be on nearly eye level with the young man, his nose is near enough that the fish-stench of his exhaled breath can be caught on the air. Expelling a whuffing grumble, he shifts his weight and keeps his fiercely protective bearing. The safety of his shaman is of the utmost importance to him. "Many moons have risen since Tornaq and I first came here," she says softly, her tone thoughtful. She has no concept of counting or actual amounts, and so 'many' will have to do. "It depends on what you look for as to where you might find it. It is a city of many places," Monique says, her brow furrowing slightly. She's puzzled by some of what he's said, though only because of a lack of understanding to what the words strung together mean.

Cassius oooofhs at the smell of fish breath, and he takes a step back, ya, singed his nostrils on that one. He does begin to back up. "Wel it is nice to meet you. Hope to see you again. Hope I can start dancing soon" he grins, "Ya you know...dancing. Sure I can at least get a job at a bar doing that. At the VERY least"

Tornaq's tongue flits out to lick his black nose, and he shifts his weight slightly before bringing his nose to lightly touch Monique's shoulder nearest to him. His attention drifts slightly then, as he seems to determine that if the young man were going to cause any manner of harm that it would have been done already. "It is good to meet you as well, and I am sure that you will see us again. We are often within the city," Monique muses, her tone thoughtful. "Ah, well... there are some bars in the city, though I do not know if any of them give jobs to dancers. I do not go inside," she says softly, a smile touching at the corners of her lips. Most places don't like having a beast the size of Tornaq actually on the inside of their establishments.

Cassius nods his head, "Or even a performers hall you know. Like I was saying...was with a circus" he grins, "just learning to dane, learning to perform, learning to...to really put on a show" he grins and does a twirl. Kind of odd, his long leather belts clickign and clacking as he finishes the turn. "well then Monique. Where were you off to now?" Monique blinks a little bit as she looks to him, her expression a little puzzled and confused both. With a what? Her brow furrows slgihtly, and she shakes her head a little.

"I do not understand what you mean by a 'circus'," she says, sounding out the word and not being familiar with it. A hint of a frown touches the corners of her lips when he twirls, and her expression remains that combination of puzzled and confused. "I did not have a place I was going. We were just walking," she says softly, lifting a hand to lightly touch the great white bear next to her.

Cassius huhs and he turns back to you. "A circus? You know a group of performers. Juggling, dancing, carrying on. Having fun and working on all sorts of fun little things." he takes out a small group of balls and tosses them up into the air. Simple rubber balls and catchs them all after one pass. If a little shakily. "Dancers, acrobats, clowns, performing animals and magic tricks"

Monique lightly shakes her head at his explanation, still not understanding. She has nothing in her history to compare it to, and there's nothing like it where she's from. "I am sorry... I do not understand. It is something I do not know," she says softly, a frown touching at the corners of her lips again. With the confusion of the shaman, Tornaq's full attention has swiftly returned to her, and he gives a soft whuff at her, as though to ensure that everything's all right. The small Inuit woman lifts her hand to lightly touch his leg near to her again, as though to ease him from thinking there's something amiss. She understands dancers well enough, but the other sorts of people he mentions are lost on her, as is the concept of 'tricks'.

Cassius uhhhs and he thinks, well he's a young guy, so he's suddenly going to try and have to figure out what he's going to do. How to sow what he's made of, how he's goign to give her a performance. He'll think about it and he'll start to dane again, but this time he'll start to work and casst...multiple images. Two other of him suddnely appear and begin to dance in time with him.

The small Inuit woman watches the young man near to her, and when he starts to dance and there are suddenly two more of him there and dancing as well, her dark eyes widen slightly. Surprised and startled, she shifts her weight slightly before stepping back and a little to one side, placing herself more behind Tornaq than what she had been. The great white bear senses the startlement and the fear within her, and he firmly plants his front paws on the ground before giving a loud roar which announces his protective nature far more than his hovering presence likely did. There are many terms which Monique is unfamiliar with, and unfortunately a circus is one of them. And even though she has magic at her own disposal, she's not used to seeing it used in such a way as to create images.

Cassius grins and he doesn't step forward, but he mummers and works his hands and suddenly his whole face becomes more...enchanting, becoming more beautiful and more charming. He rocks and lifts a leg up, doing a very folksy type of dance. His mirrors follow. Creating a nice affect of a troupe of performers, "See...a performance, entertainment, a traveling show"

Perhaps a wise choice on his part that he doesn't step forward, considering the particular stance of Tornaq. The great white bear seems more than a little tempted to take the multiple images as some sort of attempted attack, and he positions himself so that he's the one in harm's way. He has the strength to be able to take it more than what his little shaman can. Yet from behind him, Monique peeks out, watching, a spark of curiosity showing in her dark eyes even though she doesn't understand what he's trying to display. She's unfortunately not familiar with performances or much in the concept of entertainment (at least, not in the english language, though in her native tongue she does understand), though when he calls it a show, that's when some of the confusion eases. She's watched shows with Kelley before, so she understands that idea, and she gives a small nod to show that bit of understanding.

Cassius huhs at the lack of clapping. Well some people stop and clap. Some people will stare at the rather obvious magic, so much so that he feels...self concious all of a sudden, and he quickly dispells the figuers and will take a step back, "Ah never mind, uguess I'm just acting silly, uh...ya, sorry..." he begins to pull back.

Monique gives a little smile, and then she lightly shakes her head. "I am sorry... it is hard for me to understand some things, sometimes," she says softly, her tone thoughtful. "It is not something you have to apologize for," she adds, then lifts a hand to lightly touch the great white bear. To ease him from his over-protective stance. The large bear whuffs, then lowers his nose to whuff gently at her before lightly nudging her shoulder. Cassius nods and waves, "Well then, uh...it's all right, mabey I'll just, ya know, see ya later, mabey yo'll catch a show" he says. he doen'st appear like he wants to stay for much longer Tags: cassius, monique
