Sep 17 14:41:20 106 PA - Flare's interview with the police
From Chronicles
Kingsdale - KDPD HQ
The lobby of the Kingsdale police force's headquarters is filled with people at any time, day or night, all year round. A large wooden counter spans the length of the room, at which people make the police aware of their complaints, or give statements. To one side criminals are being booked, fingerprints taken, and then led off into one of the many side rooms to have their mug shots taken before being proceeded to the holding cells, gotten to through a small hallway at the far end of the lobby. Cops talk and relax at the rear left of the room, waiting for their turn to go on patrol. Near the entrance are several doors leading to the PD's higher-up's offices involved in the more mundane aspects of police duty: talking with citizens and handing out paychecks. A small white hallway leads to the police lab's clean-room.
Flare heads to the Police headquarters right after leaving the garden house, after all she was one of the only ones left to go on foot, she made sure of that, at least they took the son and his henchmen into custody. She was none to happy. Even less so when Tirzah confessed. She is pretty sure that was just to protect Cali, but she isn't even really sure who Cali is let alone her name. She steps into the lobby and glances around, moving to step up to the counter.
The Police HQ is a busy place, even at this hour of the morning. The combination of last night's activities being released and processed, and the city waking up has a flow of traffic that can cause the newcomer confusion. Luckily for Flare, the large police officer in charge of that passes through reception as she arrives, waving her across. He glances at his notepad, confirming her name as if the fact might have slipped through his fingers, "Desmeena Oliviare? Do come with me. Thank you for coming so promptly." He turns, leading the way through the lobby into a small interview room. A concrete block with two seats and a table, fastened to the floor. A magic or psionics user may feel the dampening field in this room, rendering abilities useless.
Flare nods, "Yes that is me." she says wincing a little not really liking the name. She likes the interview room even less as she feels herself dampened something she is not used to, always feeling the flames there and to be denied them. She shivers a little as she moves to sit and then looks at the officer.
The officer gives a small nod, acknowledging the effect of the room as he takes his seat. A uniformed officer stands behind and a large mirror completes the effect. "Now, how much of this morning's incident did you see, Miss... it is miss, yes? Miss Oliviare? Or would you prefer Flare?" He rests his hands lightly in his lap, somehow managing to give the impression this is no more serious than a small disagreement between friends, and his eyes crease at the corners. "I am Carslile, you can call me Rob if it makes you more comfortable." His smile appears genuine.
Flare nods, "I prefer Flare." she says and smiles a bit. She does relax a bit and she does not seem that worried. "I saw most of the event. When I arrived to the location in question, it was Miss Sage whom I saw in passing and thought I would go say hello to, talking to a young man," she described the Son of the Elder. "The rest arrived about that time as well." she describes Cali, the elder and the henchmen. "The other man," she describes Alistair," was already there as well."
Rob Carslile doesn't take notes, listening to Flare with his gaze resting on her face. A small wrinkle of concentration shows between his eyes, his full attention given to every word and nuance from the woman. "So you are more familiar with Miss Sage? And she was the unconscious woman on our arrival? What was the attitude of the others when they arrived? Did they arrive together?" His body remains relaxed, his fingers lightly intertwined in his lap, his legs relaxed.
Flare speaks softly, and describes Cali, "She was in a good mood as she arrived, Miss Sage," describes the Son," were having a discussion of some kind, and yes she was the unconscious woman. Then came the guy and his two henchmen. He seemed agitated from the start and started off by insulting, the red head other than me."
Rob nods slowly, listening intently to the descriptions of the situation. "So she didn't arrive with them, but shortly before, and was in a good mood. Right. The older man, the deceased, arrived with two other men, and insulted the redhead, now known to be Caliopa Eneas. When you say insulting...?" He lets the phrase tail off, questioningly, lifting one eyebrow as he waits for clarification.
Flare nods, "It was something along the lines of and look the harpy is here too. And when someone questioned if he was referring to Caliopa," she says now supplied with the name, "The deceased, replied how many other red haired devils are here. Will add that at that point I raised my hand and indicated my presence."
Rob chuckles softly, appreciating the humour there. "And presumably neither of you sport horns or a tail?" The dry question is passed over as he leans forward. "Was the discussion with Sage and the other man friendly? What was Miss Eneas' reaction to being so named?" His folded arms rest lightly on the table, the posture merely showing increased interest rather than being threatening.
Flare nods, "I do not have a horn and tail to my knowledge, nor does miss Eneas. I could not tell if it was friendly, but I do not believe so, because he covered her mouth with his hand to keep her quiet while the deceased was talking to miss Eneas and I would say that she was starting to get a bit agitated. The other man," she describes Alistair, "Did seem a bit more agitated, I believe he is Miss Eneas's boyfriend."
Rob nods slowly, clearly processing the information. "Mr Amire, the gentleman with Miss Sage, covered her mouth to prevent her speaking? How did the others respond to that? How did Miss Eneas respond to the insulting comment from the elder gentleman?" As yet, no notes have been taken, and his recall for information seems limitless, as does his mild good humour and calm.
Flare nods, "Miss Eneas seemed not to respond at all to the insults. The action against Miss Sage on the other hand. She drew her weapon and aimed it at Mr. Amire and not the deceased and told him to let her go."
This produces a thoughtful nod, and he leans back in his chair, resting his folded hands across his stomach, as at ease as if they were in a comfortable social chat. "So Miss Eneas didn't aim at the deceased but at Mr Amire? What was the response of the others to this? Is she known for violent reactions?" The peppering of questions is given in a soft, lazy tone of voice, as if it was a discussion about the menu perhaps...
Flare shakes her head, "I do not know anything about Miss Eneas, this is the first time I saw her or any others there for that matter, except Miss Sage, and maybe Miss Eneas's boyfriend." she shakes her head a bit, "Lots of things all happened at once. Mr. Amire let Miss Sage go. The two men that had come with the deceased charged. One attacked Miss Sage with a mace and she fell. The other charged Miss Eneas, hitting her pretty good. The two struggled on the ground and while they did that, the gun went off. The shot was wild, not flying towards Mr. Amire but hitting the deceased."
The officer listens to the tale, his face turning grave. "So to be clear, one of the men who arrived with Mr Amire's father attacked Miss Eneas and the other attacked Miss Sage?" He leans forward, the seriousness showing clearly in expression and movement. "Is it your belief that Miss Eneas came to the meeting armed, with the intent to harm any of the men there?" The question holds undertones that warn to be careful with the answer.
Flare shakes her head, "No, she was on her way to target practice which is the reason she was armed. She only pulled the weapon and aimed it when Mr. Amire accosted Miss Sage."
"And what about Miss Tirzah's claim to have murdered him deliberately using an air elemental?" The question makes it sound like a mundane method of murdering someone, despite a faint twinkle in his eyes. "Can you explain the motivation behind that claim?" He watches Flare closely, eyes slightly narrowed. Flare shakes her head a bit, "I know Miss Tirzah, she arrived after the effect. Your magical and psionic investigation should prove that she did nothing. I believe she claimed it so that Miss Eneas or Miss Sage would not suffer and to protect them."
"Is she involved with either Miss Eneas or Miss Sage?" The question is softly asked, without a flicker of undercurrent. "Our investigation is ongoing, the body is currently being moved to a lab for some tests and checks but primary results suggest the bullet from Miss Eneas' weapon was the cause of death." Rob stares at Flare for a moment, considering her, before he nods slowly.
Flare nods, "I believe that she is close to Miss Sage, I do not know of any involvement with Miss Eneas but that does not mean there is not one." she answers.
Rob nods thoughtfully before smiling, that honest smile that suggests no underhand dealings. He rises from the chair, offering Flare a hand to shake. "Well, thank you for coming in so promptly. Your information has been very valuable. If you could write down your contact details, just in case, I think we are done here..."
Flare nods and takes the hand, "Of course," she says and does write it all down, her address at Coventry place. She smiles, "I am in between jobs so can be reached there or a message can be left for me." "Excellent. Thank you, Flare." The smile is warm, friendly, as he turns to open the door, ushering her out of the building. "Again, thank you. Your information was very useful." As he turns to leave, a glimpse through the door reveals another of those interview rooms with Mr Amire seated in it, before the door closes behind him, hiding them both from further view.
