It's mid-afternoon, and his shift won't start for some time yet. The young Sebastien knocks twice and slips into the lab, a small package in hand. His ill-fitting blue-green scrubs and working shoes say he belongs here, yet the odd hour and the mischievous grin say something's up. This deep in the hospital the sounds and turbulence of outside seldom venture, though the beat and pulse of the working corridors make their own drumbeat.

Maya is focussed, her head bent over a microscope, the music loud and ignored. The petite scientist is dressed in her usual work clothes, the white coat thrown over the goth clubbing gear, her hair in bunches. A break-through occurs as Sebastien arrives and she almost bounces from the seat, her hand raised in a gesture of triumph before she turns, her fist still raised in the air. Instantly, she drops it, hiding it behind her back. "Uh, Sebastien. Hi." She gestures towards the microscope, feigning nonchalance, "I was just finishing some results. How're you?" Then the mischief is noted and her eyes narrow, the woman moving forward. "What are you up to?" Suspicion deep in her voice and in her eyes.

"Moi?" Sebastien asks over the loud rock, a bemused grin on his face as he eyes the smaller woman. A faint 'click' of the door lock flicking into place might be heard before the young man patters quickly about the edge of the room, his unadorned white bag crumpling in his hands. Something soft inside, no doubt! Sebastien dips a finger into his bag then, slowly walking those last few steps towards Maya, drawing close enough that his knees press into the foamy chair substance outside of her labcoat-touched-legs. Raising that finger then, a scent vaguely of cinnamon wafts from it, and Sebastien reaches to try and rub a bit against the side of Maya's neck. "I need a ..." He mentions, frowning faintly as he ponders the words. "Well. Not an anchor. A guide. Someone who can keep me out of trouble."

Maya tilts her head back, watching him advance with slightly narrowed eyes. "A guide?" She repeats slowly, the corner of her mouth twitching before she steps back, out of the touch, watching the man thoughtfully. "And you came to me?" A dry note in her voice is reflected in her eyes for a moment before she turns to her computer screen, swiftly entering the results of the test she was running, putting the chair between herself and him. "And you bought food." She comments, glancing over her shoulders with a quick grin, the woman's eyes shining with amusement. "You thought I'd need bribing to tell you where you are messing up?"

Sebastien's lips flash into a grin that splits his features oddly as Maya dances away, and he laughs darkly. "Not so much," he replies, voice thick with humor. That finger he draws back to place against his lips, licking the cinnamony bit off before toying briefly with the chair between them, swinging it back and forth. "Actually, I wanted you to come mess up with me." He winks, grinning again, and grabs the back of the chair before stepping away, rolling it in front of him. "I have met an elf. She is a shy little thing, unaware of the ways of men. Mademoiselle Tirzah actually tried to set her up with me, but for obvious reasons this was not possible. So. I have learned that she works at ah, the Ivory Lady I think is the name?" The young knight clears his throat, and shrugs helplessly. "I am very curious to see how someone so shy and unaware could work at such a place. But if I go alone, shall we say, I think the honor of at least one person would be lost. Come with me?"

"You want me to stop you cheating on your lady friend?" The question is asked, her tone revealing a surprise that is echoed in her face as she turns around. The grin is gone, her eyes studying the man thoughtfully before she speaks again. "You'll understand, I think, if I decline." A slight sharpness in that tone, a tiny movement of her lips tightening and perhaps she hits the keyboard with unnecessary harshness. "Either go fuck your stripper, or stay loyal to your lady. You are perfectly able to reject someone naked, Sebastien, so I'm sure you'll cope." Unusually harsh perhaps, before she moves across to the room, answering a demanding beep from a machine, her back to him. "I've work to do."

"No," Sebastien replies with a frown as he eyes Maya. "I want you to come with me because if I go alone, I will send all of the wrong signals to someone who is ripe to be crushed by her first rejection. Monique would not understand the place, nor would she I think approve of it." Sebastien spins that chair before him, eyeing it a moment before considering the scientist. "How is it that you have become a spurned lover on me, Maya? I thought were were friends? People who liked to dance and have fun?"

Maya finishes her work with the machine before she turns around, giving Sebastien a thoughtful look. "I'm not, just grouchy." She replies, her tone softening as she moves across to her desk, leaning on her seat's back instead of sitting down. "Too much work and not enough play, I think." Her tone is dry, rueful before she shakes her head. "Or too much feeling like I'm invisible to someone I'd rather be seen by." The confession is soft, a murmur barely above the sound of the music, a look of irritation at herself flashing across her face. "Never thought I'd be moping for one person. Who is this stripper?"

Sebastien returns that look with a blank face, eyes slightly wide, almost as if he were ready to shrug. And yet as she admits she's not he lets out a slow breath, relaxing a touch. "What you need is a good run through the sack," he accuses, eyes dipping down Maya's small, scrumptious body before grinning at her again. "Her name is Flare. Either a street name or one she acquired by trade, I imagine. She tells me she has this habit of bursting into flame when aroused or frightened." He raises his eyebrows at that, flickering a long look at Maya before laughing and dipping his head, looking guilty as sin. "So I pushed it, oui. I had to see! She has not burst into flame for me, yet, but I have been somewhat ... reserved in my teasing."

"You? Reserved?" The dry tone is teasing and the look she tosses him is heavy with memories that suggest otherwise. "I need a good evening out, a dance and a fuck." Blunt speaking and she presses buttons rapidly, entering test results, "Or for someone to give up the priesthood and ..." Those are mumbled, a hint of bitter in her voice before she turns with a bright grin. "Alright. Strip club. When? I'm not taking her to bed, I like my bedding unburnt..." And as she turns back to the screen he might catch "And I don't reserve in my teasing..."

Two hands touch Maya's shoulders, a hint before those thick arms snake around Maya's shoulders to draw her against him in a tight hug. Her back to his front, with Sebastien's chin resting against the side of Maya's head over her right ear. "Good," he replies, blowing strands of her pigtail out of his mouth. "I'll find out when Flare's working and set us up. We'll find a way to light her up and get your problem licked, one way or another."

Maya lets him hug her, leaning into it for a moment before she straightens, turning to face him with a broad grin on her face. "Sure, that'd be nice." She replies, reaching to tug at the pigtail, straightening it. "My problem won't fix so easily but I can get laid at least." She comments dryly, wrinkling her nose slightly, "I need a dance, and a fuck, and then my head will be straight." She reaches out for her drink, a carton of the purple fluid she prefers over most things, taking a large slurp before settling down in front of the computer. "You let me know when. Haven't been to a strip joint for a while now. It might be amusing."

"Will do," Sebastien reports a little horsely, before swallowing and stepping one pace away from the smaller woman. He glances down at the package, and half-drops it on Maya's work table before raising a hand in a silent wave as he takes three steps back. "I will send for you mademoiselle. Until then, adieu!" He flashes a grin, and a glance at the bag, and with a turn of the knob he's gone out the door. Inside the bag is a large cinnamon roll topped with creamy icing, and underneath a small plastic-wrapped bundle with massage oil and a package of tiger balm. Odd.
