Participents: Vargus, Rasputin

The current game time is: Fri Nov 20 00:11:38 105 PA.

Afternoon in the park, there are still some unsettled individuals moving around the area, after last evenings oddity, but for the most part people have gone back to life-as-normal. Or close to normal, for some. Vargus is still moving around in the shrubbary, but this time he seems to be searching around the area the mysterious individual with the stone emerged last evening. The chrome eagle is nearby on a low brance, observing Vargus in whatever it is he's doing.

Rasputin briskly walks into the park, his cane clicking away as he walks. As he walks he sings a Russian song softly to himself, "All together! All together! Yeshtsho razik, yeshtsho da ras!" He seems to be here for a daily walk, enjoying the natural setting for the park.

Vargus is stooped over, looking around on the ground and occasionally leans up to look around at the sky. He shakes his head slowly, but eventually he hears the clicking of Rasputin's cane, a sound he's a little familiar with now. He gets completly to his feet and brushes the dirt and other bits from him and moves out of the vegetation and out onto the path, as he sees Rasputin approaching on his constitutional.

Rasputin continues his brisk walk. Of course his suit is clean, smart and well pressed. His cane clicking in time with his deep voice, "Let's tow till the birchen cudgel bends, razovyom mý kudryavu." He almost skips a little bit at one point, "Aida da aida, aida da aida, razovyom mý kudryavu."

Vargus continues to watch the dwarf approach, shaking his head a little. "...and you say I'm crazy?" this directed toward the big bird sitting on a nearby branch. Vargus steps out toward the path so Rasputin can see him as he approaches.

Rasputin almost misses a step in his almost skip, but he doesn't. He of comes to a halt though, standing on the balls of his feet for a moment, and then rests back and puts both hands on the promel of the cane. He smiles and cants his head to the left, then slowly he raises his and and unconciously flicks his beard. "Dobroe utro Mr Vargus, da?"

Vargus chuckles and bows his head a little to Rasputin. "Dobro ootro, ya." He responds. He's looking a bit better today then last, clothing somewhat neat and just overall less unkempt. "You seem quite chipper this morning..."

Rasputin smiles, "So the evening pasts events were interesting, yes? Distrubing, yet interesting." He smiles and walks closer to you, so as to not require shouting. "What was your feeling on the matter?"

Vargus's eyebrows quirk up and he shakes his head slowly, leaning back on a convienient stump. "I really don't know. With all the wierd stuff I've been seeing, with in the last week. It seems to be right in line, eh?" He shrugs. "As for the stone itself, it's hard to say. There are a lot of strange artifacts that turn up every now and then.. I've seen my fair share. Could be stuff from before the Cataclysm, or something that came through a rift from someplace else and is just totally alien to us. Guess we'll just have to see if anyone at the University can come up with anything on it."

Rasputin nods slowly, "You said you didn't see anything, um, signature on it after the event? Da?" Vargus nods his head as well "Yeah, it seemed inert after it was all said and done. I picked up a huge magic signature on it." he pauses a moment. "Which is odd, if it had more of a psychic effect on everyone. Do you have any mental powers? I have no frame of reference for any of that stuff." Rasputin shakes his head, "Net, sadly I do not. I've always thought it would be helpful," He shrugs a bit, "Da, do you minding I asking how you scaned it?"

Vargus nods, "Not at all... I just gave it a look-see, trying to sense magic energy and also trying to detect any supernatural evil. Since those types usually radiate their thoughts, or at least intent, I thought it would be good to know if the thing held any concept or malice toward us. It didn't."

Rasputin nods slowly, "Da, do you being knowink the spell Sense Aura? Or Detect Magiks? Or is this a, da, something more innate?"

Vargus folds his arms across his chest and kinda shrugs/stretches, "No, they're spells. I thought we talked a bit about stuff when we first met. I'm a Shifter, basically. I have a pretty wide compliment of spells, but most of it relates to interacting with entities.. which I'm really not a big fan of. It's just that my talent seemed to include rifts and dimensional travel, so that's where I sought to focus my training."

Rasputin nods slowly, "Oh, I see. Sorry, my'ing memory is, " He tugs his beard, "Foggy." He chuckles at his own pun, "I be wondering, would you ever consider trading spell knowledged?"

Vargus perks up and seems interested, "Oh... yeah. Sure. I'm not sure how useful my spells are to someone who isn't a summoner. But... sure, I'd be interested." He looks Rasputin over. "What maner of 'slinger are you? You a walker? Don't much dress like most of the ones I've seen. But, that whole group is pretty strange, if you ask me."

Rasputin chuckles, "Da, da. But no, I'm a mage of sorts. Not really, anything specific." His voice is kind of guarded sounding, "I being interested in lower rank spells. My mentor left suddently, so I be lacking in simple things. I would be willink to trade, rank for rank. Or perhapsing, total ranking for ranking?"

Vargus's brow furrows and he 'hummmmms' quietly. "Lower level. Let me see what might be appropriate. Anything in particular you're looking for?"

Rasputin nods slowy, "Welling, Yzveenee to saying, but See Aura and Sensing magic. I do not have. My mentor was odding, da?"

Vargus seems surprised. "Yeah, that is quite odd. Oh... do you know the trick to turning undead? I think that one will be quite handy, in the coming weeks." Rasputin shakes his head, "Net, but I have a spelling that is designed to hurt Supernatural creatures."

Vargus's eyebrows quirk up, "Oh? What's it target? Is it useful against the undead? That's what's worrying me, of late.. all those nightmares." he shudders a little, then looks up at Rasputin. "Oh, do you remember me searching for a dwarven street preacher? Spouting a lot of buisness about a whole dimension of undead? Well, I don't need to find him any longer, because I beleive I have seen it too."

Rasputin nods slowly, "Da. I be hearing about dat. The preacher, but not the undead. An entire dimension being undead?" Rasputin looks around and shudders, "Net good. Net good." He thinks for a moment, "The spell being work on Supernatural creatures only. Deevils, demons, and vampires. But not against mortals. It works against one at range, or 2 by touch. Very damaging, da." Message submitted to the Sheetchanges queue.

Vargus rolls... __ (**Check Vs Lore: Magic**: Failed) (1d100) 81

Vargus hummmms. "Doesn't sound familiar. But, my concentration has been all whacked out. Oddly enough, that strange thing with the stone seemed to settle me enough that I had a decent night's sleep last night."

Rasputin nods slowly, "I also have a spell designed for purging spirits from possessed people. Perhaps not as usefull."

Vargus considers, "Actually, that sounds pretty handy. Well... for stuff of lower level that you were looking for. I have those two sensing spells, and Turn Dead. One to fling a simple bolt of energy. Hummmm. I have a fair amount of combat magic, now that I think about it."

Rasputin nods slowly, "Welling, if you like, I could be writing down what I have to trade? You could doing the same?"

Vargus nods. "That works. Is there a limit to what you can learn? Or, a limit to the amount of energy you can bring to bare?"

Rasputin nods slowly, "I being like to learn as much as I can. More to the amount I can bring to bear. Many are hard cast." He ponders a bit, "I do not have the paper, perhaps I will write you a note. You are staying in the city, da/"

Vargus nods agreement. "I've got a portable computer, but I don't have a printer with me. I stay at the Golden Carffe, though."

Rasputin nods, "Oh, OK. I will be sending you a note there, da? You can write back with that paper, and be dropping it off at the Deli?"

Vargus nods. "I can send Steelwind by to drop it off, and you can give him your reply. That we we can make him to all teh work." Nearby, the big bird ruffles its metalic feathers with an eerie sound.

Rasputin nods slowly, "Da, I can give him a meat treat too. Da, is good?"

Vargus grins. "He eats metal, actually. So if you had some knives you didn't need anymore, that would be more his style."

Rasputin nods and chuckles, "Da, I will keep that in mind. Well, if you don't minding, I need to be getting back to mine store? I will send you a note, da?"

Vargus nods and hops off of of the stump he had been seated, "Sure... I've got a few things to take care of, but should be able to get it to you in a few hours."

Rasputin nods ands walks off singing a different song, all in Russian. And in moments is out of view.

Rasputin has left.

Vargus thinks a moment. "You know, I saw a kid here in the park the other day... he was a practitioner as well. Maybe we need to start our own little guild, since the one in town won't take us yet."
