Nov 17 16:57:56 106 PA John and Bart hang at RBJs
From Chronicles
John comes wandering into the Merchant district heading in the directin of the Nut and Bolt.
Bartholemew is hanging outside RBJ's smoking a cig leaning against the building just off to the side of the front doors.
John walks in front of you throught he crowd but seems to be in his own little world zoned in on his walk.
Bartholemew whistles loudly trying to get Johns attention. "Hey! John!"
John looks up when he hears the whistle, "Hey Bart, Hows it goin bro?", he then heads over to you with a smile.
Bartholemew is trying his best to smoke his cig and not get too wet from the drizzle coming down. His armor seems to make some decent rain gear though. His helmet is tucked under his arm. "I'm doing ok man, where ya headed?"
John isn't wearing his armor but does have a poncho on, "Was just heading to the Nut and Bolt. Anything going on at RBJ's? Should I go get into some armor?"
Bartholemew shakes his head flicking his butt out into the street, "Nah, just hangin round just in case. I don't wanna miss something good cause I was out getting drunk. When the credits come in, then I'll celebrate with a good boozin."
John moves to get out of the way of a nagging drip comming from a wire hanging far above before looking back to Bart nodding in agreement, "I was hoping to make a contact or too in there. I don't have the cred's to go bozzin, was thinking of having one or two and streatching them. I think the big job will come from outside RBJ's but right now any job would be welcome."
Bartholemew nods, "Looking at things, we got enough to have a roof for a bit, but we will never be able to reload at this rate. Wanna get out the rain for a min? They got coffee inside." he motions with his thumb popping himself off the wall to make his own way in.
Kingsdale - RBJ's Adventures
RBJ's Adventures is run by Robert Barrett Johnson -- a retired Headhunter of sixty years. He's still rather tough looking behind his counter though, positively bristling with cybernetics and bionics. He seems to have no fear whatsoever and calmly converses with the most fierce looking D-Bee or most powerful cyborg without the least bit of intimidation. RBJ has simply seen it all.
'Adventures' isn't quite the right term for this place either. Liason would be more like it. In short, RBJ runs an office where mercenaries and other such people can come to see what is available for bounties, work, and other such things. To this end he works closely with the Kingsdale Government and the common man -- whenever there is 'dirty' work to be done, or work that requires guns and brawn it is found here. He acts as an escrow system too, which makes Mercs happy as they know they will get their money. People who want to hire a mercenary pay RBJ the money they are offering and he looks after paying the Merc -- with a bit of a cut off the top, of course.
The place is always full of rough and tumble men and women and is quite large for an office. Heavy, coarse furniture is available to seat about ten and there is always a pot of coffee brewing. Surprisingly, there is rarely a raised voice of any kind. RBJ is adored by many local people and at any given time there is half a dozen people present and ready to jump to his defense. So, most people keep quiet -- even if they feel they got the raw deal, which very rarely happens.
Bartholemew steps inside going straight for the coffee pouring John a cup and handing it over and then pouring himself a cup. Giving a quick glance over the room he head over finding a place where they both can sit. "What kinda jobs you interested in? So i can keep my ear open. I'm up for anything if it pays and I know you gots hobbies moreso than me."
John takes the coffee taking a sip, "Well my hobbies are not up to par to use for a job yet. I still need some practice on my mechanics and electronics. But computers I am really good with. But anything that brings in some credits so we can keep our eclips full will work for me."
Bartholemew shrugs, "Nuff said then. Did ya hear about the commotion on Steel street? Vehicles all just breakin down an shit. Sounds weird to me, prolly some techno wizzy messin round or messin up some sort of contraption."
John nods, "I agree, sounds like some techno wizard thing to me. I figure the KDP will get to the bottom of it pretty quick though."
Bartholemew snickers softly, "Hell, if they give a shit. If it ain't their stuff getting fizzled they will prolly just wait and see if it just goes away."
John shrugs and gives a chuckle, "Did you want to go check it out or something?"
Bartholemew shrugs sipping on his coffee, "Not like we have anything better to do. Might prove to be interesting. Do ya know whats down thata way?"
John shakes his head, "I think I walked down Steel street when we first got to town but I don't really remember what was down there."
Bartholemew shrugs making a face showing he surely doesn't know. "I've wandered around a bit but been mostly around Main st. I figure it wouldn't hurt to go ask around maybe find some actual witnesses."
John nods, "Sounds good to me. Lets go see what we can find out."
