Weather at Mon May 23 22:49:17 106 PA (19.04C, 66.27F):
The weather is comfortable in any sort of shelter -- not particularly cold, not to dry, not too dark, and not too windy. But when exposed to the elements, the dreary rain and constant wind can annoy one severely.
Kingsdale - The Alibi
Flare laughs and nods, "Yeah, hard to kiss someone in full body armor." she seems rather amused and in better spirits than she started. She is at the bar with Leonard, there is some glitter in her hair. She orders another drink.
"Well, I'll just have to get more creative, then, in my helpful suggestions." Leonard echoes the laugh with a short one of his own. Her mood seems improved, at least. "Maybe after a bit more to drink..." With that, he empties his glass and returns it to the bartop.
Flare nods, "Well Tirzah would be good, or maybe just get her to make someone immune to fire for some tests." she blushes a bit as she even suggests it.
Rain, rain, go away. It's still raining out there. It's always raining out there. Bek comes into the club in the camouflage poncho that she's practically lived in for the last several weeks, dripping ribbons of water onto the floor that trail from the door to the weapons check carousel. She strips the poncho off there, wraps it around her saber and pistol and stuffs the whole parcel into one of the little lockboxes. Only after taking the key does she take a peek around the interior, curiously hovering near the entryway and sweeping the club with purposeful eyes.
Leonard considers that option briefly and nods. "Yes, she is one I know to be rather fireproof, and there are spells that would help in that regard. Unfortunately, I don't have the formulae, myself, not to mention potentially keeping another person on hand could become akward..." His words trail off as a sudden thought occurs and his smile grows. "I might have an alternative, however, if you'd excuse me?"
Flare raises a brow a bit as she looks at him, "Alternative, excuse you?" she looks confused and glances around for a moment and then back and tosses a way towards Bek, having seen her.
Rebekkah skips down and away from the entrance as she returns Flare's wave, and makes her way over to her and Leonard at the bar. "Hello, did you just get off work?" she asks in greeting to the elf, smiling cutely and giving her another wave now that she's at point-blank range. Her attention skips almost immediately to Leonard, though, and she continues, "I thought I might find you in here. I have something for you." Digging around in the multitude of pockets on her pants takes a little while, but she eventually finds what she seeks - a plain, flat, black little credit chip.
Kesslan can be seen slowly cleaning up the bar, dispite being armed and armored just like the rest of the security in the club. The feline having quietly moved on from an earlier conversation with Flare and Leonard, his sense of curriosity momentarily saited for the time being. Now done however, he pauses in his work with a thoughtful expression, mometarily seeming to pay attention to no one specific thing in the club, simply seeming lost in thought.
"I have an idea that might assist you, but I need to do a bit of research, first." Leonard grins to Flare before turning at Bek's arrival and address. "Evening, Bek. Oh?.. Oh! Business treating you well, as of late?"
Flare nods and smiles, "Been off for a little bit, was chatting with Leo about the problems of the lack of kissing practice." she giggles a bit and then looks at Leo, "REsearch?" she looks a little confused.
Rebekkah sets the chip down on the counter in front of Leonard and answers him with a nod. "Yep! After I sold that jewelry, it turned out to be plenty of cred." She slides onto the stool at Flare's other side and leans against the bar, gold eyes flitting back and forth between the two, trying to follow the conversation she stepped into.
Kesslan blinks slightly before one ear perks a little at a barely familar voice not too far along, and a quick glance confirms the presence of the perplexing individual he met only yesterday. However, Kesslan does not approach for the time being, though he does start tiding up a few things at his end of the bar while keeping one ear pointed in the trio's direction like the snoopy currious feline he is.
Leonard nods to Bek as he secures the chip. "I'm glad that it was profitable. For both of us, I suppose." A chuckle as he turns back to Flare. "Research on the not catching fire part, not the kissing." As if to prove this, he leans in to plant a quick, semi-platonic kiss upon her cheek before stepping back. "I'll inform you of what I discover. Good eve to you both."
Flare cocks her head to the side for a moment and then smiles a little, "Well that isn't the kissing that needs practice," she teases and then shakes her head just a little.
Rebekkah rests her cheek against her fist while she leans and just watches Leonard and Flare through a trio of slow blinks. "Uhhh... huh. Bye Lambard." She makes the effort at lifting her other hand and flopping a little wave at him before he goes, then turns her attention back to Flare. "That guy's gonna end badly, I think."
Flare shrugs and nods, "He was just offering to help." she looks down, "Had a discussion about why I dance and all that, and why not just look for a relationship, and led to the fact that relationships aren't easy for me, and though I have worked on my control, need to practice certain other things to see if I can keep control....but needs the right non-flamable person, which isn't easy." she giggles and blushes just a bit.
Kesslan is presently armed and armored behind the bar, the feline casually watching the once trio of Leonard, Rebekkah and Flare with a clear sense of curriosity. His ears perked up, and as Flare makes a comment that seems to twig somethign in his memory he dares slip forward once more. "Appologies, this one over hear what say you.." he trails off a moment as he regards flare "Be you the spirit touched that on fire can go? This one has before once met one as this. Problem speak you of sound similar."
Rebekkah lifts her head off of her hand and slides her eyes over at Kesslan when he starts talking. The irises of her eyes swirl to green as she smiles. "Oh, heyyyy, I know you! Yeah, she can -totally- turn into fire. I mean, I've never actually seen it, but she says she can..." Brows furrowing with a sudden concern, the girl snaps her mouth shut behind a faint pout and turns her sidelong stare back to the tall elf beside her. Now's she's suspicious.
Flare nods to Kesslan, "Yes, I am a burster." she says softly, "I have problems with control now and again, especially under strong emotions." she looks at Rebekkah and notices that look, "Want me to burst into flame now, I can, but might get me kicked out of the bar." she says softly.
Stepping into the club Tirzah endures the inspection at the door but only as long as necessary. Anyone who knows her well after all knows she has little need for weapons. Making her way over to the bar she finds a spare stool. Shaking out her hair to shake the lingering feel of the touch of the bouncers. "Get me a royal tea please." She asks but not specifically to any particular tender. Choosing to see who else is about after making the order.
"This one would not suggest turn into fire you inside bar mine." Kesslan warns, though his tone is still friendly. "Appreciated not it would be. Bad buisiness for is." he explains. "Have this one before met one of like you." his gaze directed at Flare once more "Ordo name was his, he too trouble control had, thought monster was and would not see gift that is it. Difficult to control such spirit gift is perhaps, but gift not curse is. Hope this one does that you not think same as he in this way."
"Usually, like, if you just listen to every third word?" Bek tries explaining to Flare with a helpful little gesture at Kesslan. "You can figure out what he means." She lowers her voice, not by enough to really effectively conceal anything she's saying, and leans closer to the elf to confide, "He's from another dimension, I think the rift or whatever fried the talking part in his brain."
The door opens again, barely after closing from Tirzah's entrance, and another redheaded woman steps into the Alibi. Having come in from the rain outside, she pauses near to the door and lifts a hand to catch the fabric of her cloak's hood, lowering it to her back. Her blue-eyed gaze slips over few of the patrons within, briefly, and a hint of a smile touches at the corners of her lips. She submits willingly enough to the customary search of the bouncers, who are familiar enough with her that they don't make the process longer than truly necessary. Isabeau lowers her left hand to bring it to rest upon the swell of her distended belly, her eyes falling half closed against the squirming of the baby within her. After a moment, however, her eyes open to normal again and she starts to make her way towards the bar as well.
Flare cocks her head to the side, "It is a gift, it is who I am, just need to practice certain things to see if I got it down, and volunteers aren't easy to come by." she shakes her head and nods to Bek, "A few drinks help too." she says and sighs softly. She waves over towards Tirzah.
Her drink delivered moments later Tirzah nods to Bek Flare and Kesslan. "Good evening guys. How are things?"She asks genarlly before giving a light smile to Flare. If you'd like to work on fire control you're welcome to come by and see me. I'll give you my info." She offers turning to the tender to ask for a pen and paper.
Kesslan eyes Rebekkah though at least responds in a calm tone though he seems a touch less than pleased at her joke. "Is that you speak strange to others too not just others to you. Try you speak Pantheran day some and find you will not so good you do." he challenges as Triazah speaks up. A nod given to the spellcaster. "Greetings Tirzah, many good hunts have had you?"
Flare looks at Tirzah, "Thank you for the offer, but I would not want to come between what you and your lady have." she says softly, "The emotional control I need to work on involves...kissing and possibly more." she says and then stands. If you will excuse me all, I will be right back, have had a little much to drink." she dips her head politely to Isabeau as she passes and heads towards the ladies room.
Rebekkah reponds to Kesslan's challenge with a tiny shrug of one shoulder that could either be taken to mean that she doesn't expect she'll need to speak Pantheran any time soon, or that she's confident she could if she -did- need to. Or perhaps both at the same time. "Hey, yeah, since I'm here now..." She offers a little wave to Flare. "I might as well get a drink, right?" Oddly, she looks to Kesslan to confirm this idea for her, but then rises from her stool and moves down a few to settle beside Tirzah instead.
As she draws closer to the bar, Isabeau is able to catch but bits and pieces of the conversation happening there. One of her eyebrows quirks upwards, though at a particularly energetic kick from the baby within, she's forced to stop, rubbing her fingers slightly on the spot. That, she's starting to find tiresome. Her cheeks have paled somewhat, and her brow furrows a little. It takes a moment for the pain to ease, but she continues then on her way towards the bar. Reaching it, she doesn't pull out a stool just yet, instead choosing to wait for the attention of one of the bartenders. When she gains it, she offers a small smile and a hint of a nod before placing her own order for a drink. "Green tea, if you please... in one of the larger mugs," she says softly, raising an eyebrow slightly. The bartender gives a nod of acknowledgement, then sets towards making it.
Tirzah gives a nod in reply to Kesslan as Bek relocates to beside her and Flare sees to some business. "Just finished one yesterday actually, pretty easy job, in and out to take out a CS convoy of four trucks. And four weeks prior we made a Jaunt south to visit familiy and firend and discipline another warlock. What about you? Getting closer to finalizing the hunt you have in mind?" She asks before turning to give Bek a demure smile. "Hello again Bek, how are you doing? Sorry I've been out of arms reach since the job but I trust your parcel made it to you intact. I was very clear with the other Bartender at the Nut and Bolt what would happen to him if it didn't." She notes with a cunning smirk and a glint form her fiery eyes. The glint follows on to Isabeau as she momentarily feels a pang of envy at the life she is nurturing, her biological clock being persistent today.
Kesslan glances over towards Isabeau as he listens to Tirazah's response. Ignorant of many things he may be when it comes to other races, but evne he can recognize the apparent signs of pregancy. And thus, silently, and without explanation he momentarily ducks behind the bar, comming up a moment later with the helmet of his EBA Suit and promptly puts it on and locks it in place without a word of explanation as to why, and acting as if such a thing were the most normal thing in the world. "This one have one who offer much information for little on this place. Trade Kesslan has arranged with this one spoken of for to this information get. Plans of place Kesslan wish go with much other thing of use." he says quite simply. "Make easier will the task."
Rebekkah just pours a sugary smile onto Tirzah and leans closer to her as she winds her arm through the warlock's. "I did!" she coos happily. "And I was able to pay Lambard back and everything, he was so happy I almost laughed." She does laugh now, but quickly suppresses it to observe, "I don't think he could really afford what he let me borrow, but was just trying to be nice."
It takes the bartender only a few minutes to finish with making the green tea and to set it on the bar's counter in front of her. He gains a smile for his efforts, and payment. Then she withdraws a stool, though she's brought to pause before actually settling on it, her attention drawn by the sense of Tirzah's gaze upon her. Her brow furrows slightly, a flicker of worry and concern reflecting in her blue eyes at the glint found in the other woman's eyes. She frowns a little, then inclines her head a touch before settling on the stool and reaching to her tea, her blue-eyed gaze turning to the depths of her tea. Isabeau doesn't lift the mug, though she does cup her fingers around it, to warm them perhaps. At the movement from Kesslan as he moves behind the bar, her gaze slips to him, and there rises a flicker of curiosity in her eyes at the helmet being donned. Odd, and yet she doesn't ask about it. Her attention returns to her mug of tea, and she lifts it, taking a sip and wondering if she's interrupted something of importance.
Tirzah rleases the stare at Isabeau to focus back on Bek with a smirk and a shake of her head. "Lambard, Lambert, Leonard, don't let Vixen catch you calling him that, she tried to bite my head off over the affect she thinks it had. I think she needs to realize she doesn't get to control every variable though. She advises before looking back to the now helmeted Kesslan, and she breaths a little easier with the helmet on and the air cleaner. "Yes structurasl blueprints would be extremely valuable for such a mission. We could find the weakest point and pound it into oblivion. I have a new friend that particularly unfond of the CS as well, maybe she can come. She'd be a great diversion, I think you've met Meu yes?"
"Meu would perhaps be too big risk for this thing such as. If just attack open with no thought, die will we all." Kesslan says in response to Tirzah through the somewhat muffled speaker of his environmental helmet. "Stealth more if posssible at all better will be. Less fight better. Some force brutal used must be too but not too much. Kesslan team at moment have which good look, so take this will Kesslan. Too many too much attention draw will before even there get." he tries to explain as best he can, leaning slightly uppon the bartop, his expression now hidden behind the one way opaque viewport of his helmet. "Much use in other thing would Meu be, but perhaps not thing as this."
"She did say she's be a -diversion-," Bek notes, which the girl must have taken to mean that the giant is expendable. That being said, she releases Tirzah's arm and striaghtens up from leaning against her in order to wave over the bartender and get herself something to sip. "Are you going to help him too, Tirzah? I said I would, before I even remembered that I'd seen him before."
Keeping her gaze lowered to her tea, she settles the mug of it back upon the saucer it had been delivered to her on. Her tongue flits out to gather a droplet of the tea from her lower lip, and then Isabeau lifts her gaze, turning to glance to the others at the bar. Her brow furrows slightly in thoughtfulness over what she hears, and she tilts her head a little to one side. "To help with what?" Isabeau asks softly, curiosity in her voice. Her gaze slips from one to the next, settling on the helmetted Kesslan, one of her eyebrows quirking upwards slightly. She turns somewhat, to be facing them as much as what the stool allows, and she shifts her position slightly, crossing her legs at the ankle.
Flare makes her way back into the place and glances around a little. She reaches the bar, "Sorry about all that." she says and dips her head to everyone again and gets herself another drink, not sure where the conversation has led though, she waits to jump back in.
Tirzah nods understanding Kesslan's judgement on that. "Well she can be pretty sneaky when she wants to be. On the hunt she's a lot different. I took her on the job yesterday and she did really well I think." She notes in Meu's defence. "But once she pounces she is quite the target so I agree with you there. If she would go i would probably have to stay with her for support. But between us and perhaps an elemental aide we could cause a great deal of devastation I think." She offers to Let Kesslan consider that for the other event he has planned. Then looking back to bek ashe nods as she writes down her address for Flare. "I am, missed out on his first mission as I was too new in town, but I'm not about to again, this is what i do after all." She points out with a bit of pride before looking to flare and handing her the note. "We're not going to have intimate time their, though I thank you for the complement. There's more than one way to rile someone up, and i'm really good at the other way." She points out with a sly smile.
"Perhaps.." Kesslan conceeds to Tirzah, for he only knows Meu from a few brief encounters "But this one does not trust Meu enough yet for such a task. Perhaps when better know would consider this. Would however, willing be work with on other thing but Kesslan rare seem offer get of work these day." a brief pause then from the feline d-bee "Truth though Kesslan very buisy has been too."
Rebekkah accepts her drink from the bartender as he sneaks around Kesslan to serve it, and she's caught trying to divide her attention between Tirzah and Isabeau and then Flare too when the elf returns. "Uhm, he..." she begins to explain to the preggers lady, but loses that train of thought for another. "Intimate time?" Her glass slowly lowers from in front of her lips, drink untasted, so she can stare openly at Tirzah.
With her question passed over by the one she'd asked it of, Isabeau turns her attention back again to her tea. Her blue-eyed gaze lowers to the liquid held within, and she lifts the mug again to take a sip. A slight frown touches her features, her brow furrowing a little, and she retreats her left hand from the mug to bring it to rest on the swell of her belly. The mug is settled again to the saucer, and she eases from her stool, her hand remaining on her belly, her cheeks a little paler than normal for her. Her fingers rub a little there, and she takes a step back from the bar before using her free hand to push the stool back closer to the bar.
Flare nods, "I can always use practice with my anger, but it is the other I really need, set my last lover on Fire, and can't get close to anyone...well." she shakes her head and slips the note into a pocket, "But anger control is good." she gets her drink and seems to be considering going from the look as she is drinking fast. She looks over at Isabeau, "You alright?"
Tirzah looks to Bek, surprised by her surprise at the concept. "What? I though you knew Sage and I are partners, you know, like a couple." She states bluntly, perhaps cruelly if Bek is truly oblivious. Then considering flare again she shrugs lightly. "Well I do have ways to protect others from fire, or access to being who do. Maybe you can find someone up to the challenge for that type of practice." She offers to Flare before looking to Isabeau to fill her in. "One of Kesslan's people has been captured by the CS and are being held. We're gonna go post bail." She tells her with a confident smile.
Kesslan bounces his attention between the various speakers, studying them as much as replying, though it does make it a little hard for the feline who's native language is not english to properly keep track of everything. However, Isabeau's reaction is one that does not escape his notice. HIs head turning to regard her and his pose straightening out once more as he watches her. "Need assistance you?" he asks with a tone that expects an answer. A tone used to carrying some authority, but also the confidence of some one who coula ctually deal with a potential problem.
The tense look on Bek's face, an expression teetering on the edge of the true horror, erodes under waves of merciful relief. "Oh, I thought you meant Meu!" she explains and exclaims, laughing brightly. "Frooze... is Sage coming too, then? I'm... really confused now." She looks from Tirzah to Flare, blinking.
Isabeau's attention is easily enough caught with the question so obviously directed to her, and she lifts her chin a little back to normal to look to the woman who asked. A faint smile manages to find the corners of her lips, and she gives a little nod, though it's not a motion which seems to have strong conviction behind it. "Aye, thank you. The baby is very active, is all," she says softly, the faint smile returning briefly. Her gaze shifts to Tirzah as an explanation is offered, and then she gives a small nod. "It sounds a noble cause, to free a friend," she begins, her gaze then turning to Kesslan, and a small smile touches her lips again. "You care much for your friend, and I wish you all the luck in your endeavour to free them. I would offer my help, however... I would likely be more of a burden, all things considered," she says softly, her tone thoughtful and tinged with regret. She wants to help, by the sound of her voice. But there's a flicker of pain to her voice as well, for the pain her baby causes to her, though she's trying to keep that from showing much. "I thank you for your offer of help, but I'll be all right... I think 'tis the baby's way of saying that she grows tired of being where she is. I find walking helps, so... I think the walk home will settle the baby," she says softly, quirking a smile. She tarries a brief moment more, then offers a nod. "Thank you, again... and may you all have a good night," she adds, her fingers rubbing more than idly at a spot where the baby has kicked. She'll tarry a moment more, to hear what the others may have to offer in farewells, but then she will turn to head out, to walk home.
Flare waves to Isabeau, "As long as you are alright," she says to her and then nods to the others and shrugs, "I should just go myself." she shakes her head, "Finding someone probably just isn't for me anymore, don't have much luck in that department."
Tirzah laughs freely for several moments at Bek's expense. "Me with Meu?! Are you kidding? You were there when I introduced her to Sage. You saw her snacking habits and hostess capabilities. Honestly, you should be able to keep track of three or four topics at once, not just two." She critiques, her laugh leaving her tactless in doing so. "No Meu is like a wayward child to me. I think she has potential to be much more than anyone expects of her. But I'm not placing any wagers. And unfortunately Sage wont be coming, she has business to attend to with her clan of late." She explains before giving an understanding nod and smirk to Flare. Perhaps she already has a gentleman in mind.
"Then walk you home Kesslan or guard will. Honour can not be that one as you be alowed to home alone walk in place such as Dregtown. Safe not is." The pantheran says to that, accepting Isabeau's explanation of the issue at hand. Given the feline's medical training, he knows enough how to handle an emergency delivery, but beyond that the feline is a touch clueless especialy when it comes to other species and thus takes the woman at her word on the matter of the baby. Dispite all this however his tone is not one that sounds like it would stand for a refusal of the offer, with an underlaying hint of concern as the potential cause.
Rebekkah doesn't seem to take any offense from what Tirzah says to her, though it could just be because she's busy trying to scrub out the mental image she conjured for herself. She turns herself on the stool to face Flare instead. "Not with that attitude you won't, sister! If you defeat yourself in your own head before you even get out on the battlefield, you're already dead." That little bit of wisdom comes with a free, earnest nod of her head.
Flare turns back, "What is that for?" she notices the smirk and then looks at Rebekkah, "The last person I tried to get intimate with I set on fire. The next person I showed interest in...I picked the wrong person, I haven't had much luck, or people lining up for a chance to be barbecued."
Tirzah shrugs shaking her head lightly before given Flare a challenging look. "Tell me Flare, if i find a guy that is willing, will you make an effort too?" She asks her, her voice quite confident again.
Returning to the bar after arranging an escort for Isabeau, Kesslan comes back just intime for his augmented hearing to catch the last bit of conversation. And.. as he's picked up a few bad habbits from certain mischevious friends of his he cant help but drop in a "But what if one willing is not human or elf?" teasingly, almost as if he were offering. The tone however suggests that he's -probably- kidding and not meaning himself... maybe.
Though the warlock's teases rolled right off her shoulders, Bek's features pinch and she winces slightly at what Flare says. "So, yeah, you just gotta take it slow, you know? Ease into it, don't get all excited and blaze-o flame-o right off. Everyone gets that urge, everyone has to learn to keep it cool. Just.. not as literally as you do."
Flare shakes her head, "I set him on fire after we kissed and we were moving to remove clothing, we had been dating for months." she says and looks back at Tirzah, "Um...okay." she looks suspicious and then looks back at Rebekkah, "Sorry, I shouldn't have said that." she relaxes and seems to calm a bit, "The parta bout...well you know, picking the wrong person. Sorry."
Tirzah nods her smile confident. "I'll get back to you then." She promises before taking a moment to finish her drink. "But now, I bid you both adeau. Its about time for Sage to e off work." She says before making her way out of the club.
Flare turns back to Kesslan, "That doesn't matter, probably going to end up with a Fire Elemental." she winks at him.
The pantheran tilts his head slightly at Flare's retort "This one does not belive elements of fire spirits can in this way react people with. But wrong could be. Never proper trained was Kesslan in ways of such things." he admits, almost seeming to take Flare seriously, and in some ways he actually has or at least the idea. "Those such as you rare are so stories of such unlikely often to have chance be caused think this one...." he adds after a moment of far too much thought on the subject. There's a slight pause then as he realizes something else. "This one not introduced self to you have I yes?"
Rebekkah waves off Flare's apology with a flutter of her hand and a shake of her head. "I should... get going too," she decides after taking a moment or three to listen to the new topic between Flare and Kesslan. "Only came in here to pay Lamb back, and that was like..." She glances up at the ceiling and takes a guess: "A while ago. Good seeing you anyway, Flare-girl! You too, Panther!" She practically bounces off her stool and zips towards the exit without leaving anyone time to say their goodbyes.
