Cheering women up is something that Leo always strives to do. Unfortunately, the opposite effect of his intent is a common occurence. The direction in which his conversation with Emayn might swing is anyone's guess, given its brevity before her departure. Now finding himself with a distinct lack of feminine conversation, he slides from the booth seat to head Vixenwards.

"Ok, good.. just glad it ain't a big problem." The words that send the mystery guy on his way, Vixen a bit thoughtful on the issue before she turns towards Leo. Just in time to see him getting up. She heads back his way to meet him. "Sounds like someone sent a load of food over to the refugees. Ain't usually good news when people show up like that," she notes to him, a hand reaching out for one of his. With a lack of Ema, she wonders, "Didn't go so well, I guess?"

"With her, many things /are/ a guess." Leonard rolls his shoulders. "I am somewhat certain that it has nothing to do with me, at least. I think?" He is definitely on the guessing side of things.

"Why would it have anything to do with you?" The question has its honest curiously, but again Vixen can't help a subtle dark edge to the question. Though rather than the apologetic look she gave him before she shrugs her shoulders a little and adds, "I mean, not like you're meant to her or anything, I guess.. to be honest, I haven't seen her for a few weeks since." Her shoulders roll and she glances to the side a little.

Leonard considers a moment and exhales a small sigh. "I would like to think that we're friends, and I may have upset her. I ran into her the other night, and she thought it a good idea to get everybody together, blow off some steam, before we head out." He manages a chuckle. "The fearless leader buys a round for the girls who're going to keep him in one piece sort of thing. Bek was slammed at the bar, and Flare was working, so it wound up just the two of us coming here. I left a bit prematurely, so I think she took offense."

Vixen nods her head slowly, looking back towards Leo. "Why'd you leave early?" After she asks this, she turns towards him, moving a bit closer. Her eyes fixed towards his own as that simple question gets asked.

"It seemed a good idea at the time." Leonard pauses a moment, filling the time with wrapping his free hand about her waist. "We talked, caught up, had a drink. I got bold and drug her out there." His head tips for the dance floor. "Somewhere down the line, I had a sense of... deja vu, so I left. She was worried that she'd done something wrong, overstepped. Which she didn't." Her gaze is met throughout, but the last words are the only ones with any firm confidence behind them.

Vixen lets herself be wrapped, though she remains somewhat distant as she studies Leo carefully through his speaking. Mulling his words, the tone and expressions. Her own firmed somewhat. Guarded just a bit. "Didn't cause she didn't try.. or didn't cause you left?" she asks slowly, her attention not shifting to the dance floor when it was indicated.

Leonard shakes his head and moves himself that partial step closer. "She didn't try anything, Vix, which is probably why I upset her. Maybe I just became a little paranoid... you could be rubbing off on me."

"That's not always a bad thing.. and maybe she was. You just got a gut hunch.. I dunno," Vixen replies. She breathes out and the firmness leaves, she moving in to wrap both arms around him in a close hug. "I worry a lot, Leo.. I don't let on cause I want you to feel like I trust you. And I do, but I still worry. Sometimes I feel like I wanna always know where you are and what you're doing.. make sure she isn't involved, doing things to try and get you or something."

"I don't want you to worry," Leonard sighs, more pleasantly this time, as he welcomes her into the embrace, "but I knew you would. She's not out to get me, she didn't do anything, and I'm not even sure it's her I was worried ...about." In retrospect, he becomes even more unsure of his mentioning his guesses upon what he is and is not sure of.

Vixen looks up towards him and a slight frown comes to her. "You mean you were worried about you? That you'd.. do something?" Again, her tone takes on an ambiguousness. Not quite sure how to feel about it, even as she asks for confirmation. But she doesn't draw away. No, not yet.

Leonard now mirrors her frown, for any number of reasons. "It seemed ...dangerous. Maybe the whole thing was. I don't think I'd be that stupid, but I can't say I've always been smart before, can I?" His lips invert to a smirk. "Better to pull a Leonard and run."

Vixen is thoughtful, staring at him quietly for a few moments. That they are amid revelers and music doesn't seem to register for her. Tightly focused again. "I don't want you to run," Vixen murmurs. "And I don't want you to make people feel bad. So whenever you're feeling like.. well, like things ain't so clear cut, think of me." Her hands slip from about him to lift and cup his cheeks. "I'm guessing maybe that's why you was so.. energetic when I got home." A little smirk touches her. "But that's ok.. I don't mind if other ladies get you warm, so long as you save that warm for me, cause its all mine, babe. Let 'em warm you up.. just as long as they don't get a taste, cause that's mine too. Just like mine is yours.. there are some pretty boys out there, but they aren't my Leo."

The smirk widens into a smile beneath her hands and Leonard's arms tighten. "I have no problems whatsoever in thinking of you, babe, and I don't want you to ever feel otherwise. I shouldn't have put myself in the risky situation in the first place..." His smile dims notably, drifting to thoughtful. "but maybe that's why I did. I'm still all yours, though."

"Good, cause it's mutual," Vixen replies softly. She smiles and slips back again, though she finds his hand once more. "We should go somewhere.. I'm feeling pretty relaxed on just where, though. Got any notions? Or urges?" A sly little smirk rises at that, her hand giving his a firm squeeze. "Urges? Yes. That is never an issue around you." Leonard almost makes it sounds a mere matter of fact, were it not for his grin and return of her squeeze. "As for notions where, I haven't the slightest idea. You're getting blamed for that, too."

Vixen snorts faintly and starts to move towards the doors, "Why are you blaming me cause you can't think of a good place to go?" She arches a brow subtly. "Seem like I'm always thinking of where to go most times.. maybe you ought to go wandering a bit and find some interesting spot or thing to do out there somewhere?" Leonard chuckles as he steps along with her. "When you're around, the rest doesn't matter all that much... or I'm just very unimaginitive. You're also hard to impress. That takes weeks to plan." A wink is shot her way. "Are you up for a late dinner, or just some dessert? My treat, this time."

"Desert sounds good," Vixen replies with a sly little expression. "And don't try too hard to impress me. Just.. if you think of something or see something that kinda looks interesting, just bring me along. I ain't hard to please mostly. Even if I gotta add my own spin to whatever." She draws him along to the front where the weapons check is. Pistol is recovered, along with a few smokes and flashbangs that go back into discreet loops inside her coat.

"I must be the only person in the city who doesn't carry an arsenal with them everywhere." Leonard notes with a pointed smirk as he awaits Vixen to collect her things. Once that's done, he retakes her hand to muse aloud, "So, what happens if I decide to take you somewhere formal sometime, and you have to wear a dress?"

"I got dresses," Vixen notes, turning to face Leo just to the side of the door. "Maybe they ain't high society, but they're good enough I'd say. Not a lot of 'em, though. I'm not much for dresses usually.. only when there's a need for something like that. And that don't happen too often."

The smirk curls further for a moment. "I'll be certain to make a need in the near future, then. For now," Leonard motions to the door before stepping to it, "dessert awaits."

Vixen smiles and leans a little against him as she moves towards the door as well. "You do that, babe. I'll be waiting to see what you come up with when you do," she murmurs as she goes out with him into the night. Desert awaits.. but where?

<<Later at the Silver Fork>>

Leonard escorts his dessert guest, although he is in no particular hurry. His earlier statement concerning location was more accurate than not. After a table is requested and located, he notes, "You know, I think I come to the Inn /more/ since you moved, as odd as that sounds..."

"Well, it has a nice nightclub and restaurant. Not so much a stretch that the place is nice to come to, even if you don't live in it." Vixen grins as she goes through the divestiture of items again, though this time she tosses in a few common knives to the mix. As she's handing these over she looks to Leo. "You know.. I don't even know how to use knives.. except for throwing." Her brows lift slightly. Once that's done, she wonders, "What about you? What kinda weapons do you know?" She'll ease up beside him again as they wait to be seated.

"I can usually hit a target with my Wilks rifle," Leonard smirks some at the question, "but that's about it. I'm the guy that hides behind the ones with the weapons, remember? I've never even fired the thing outside of practice, and forgot it entirely when we went with Tirzah." Once the greeter returns to lead them to a table, he steps along, but retains most of his attention on Vixen.

"Maybe we ought to change that a bit.. especially if we're gunna be letting you mess around with my grenades," Vixen suggests. "The flashers and smoke won't hurt you, but you still want to get 'em close to the targets, rather than tossing them near your guys." When the seat is reached, she slips into one of them, her bag slid off to settle down by her feet.

Leonard slides in opposite and settles. Not nearly as fun as sharing, but this is not exactly the same venue, either. "I would suggest the 'how not to blow my foot off' lesson, first. Then again, there may well be an easy way to duplicate the effects, too. My talents aren't of the flash and bang variety, but that could change." He grins across the table. "Might be safer for everyone."

Vixen smirks faintly at that. "Yeah, but this is a family place. So what we was up to at the Alibi don't really fit in." She glances around slowly. "And I don't feel like getting kicked out yet." Her attention returns to Leo then and she grins. "Maybe when we go camping, I can give your arm some lessons then. Always was good at throwing things.. helped out when I was younger, living in the Dregs. Being able to turn some rock into a deadly weapon was good when you didn't have anything else good. Well.. maybe not deadly, but still. Getting beaned in the head wasn't exactly fun."

"I learned that when I was younger, too. One would think I'd be very adept at ducking," Leonard chuckles as he retrieves and persuses a menu, "but I'm not. Do you have a particular sweet tooth, or should I be creative?"

"Ice ceam was something I never got too much of when I was little. So I like getting it every now and then and its been a while since I last did," Vixen replies with a light grin. "Maybe you can pick the flavor. Something that isn't just chocolate, since that's what I usually get." She leans forward, elbows propped against the table as she considers him.

Leonard continues to peruse and nods to the suggestion. "A rare treat for a rare woman, then. I can certainly do that... aha!" The menu is set aside and a waitress flagged down. Once she arrives, he promptly places the order. "Yes, we'll have the..." The menu is picked back up again to be read from, "Humongous Fudge Brownie Mountain Deluxe Sundae..." Now that that mouthful is done, he turns back to Vixen with a grin. "The ice cream is vanilla, at least?"

Vixen lifts her brows as Leo finds his selection, then smirks when he places the order. She voices no objection, though once the server has gone she says, "You know, that's a pretty big sundae. Might not be able to eat half of that thing." Fair warning given, if after the fact. "What about you.. did you have some secret, rare treat when you were a kid?"

"That's why we're sharing. Not that we'll be able to eat all of it, together." Leonard's grin widens. "It'll be fun trying, though. Pie. That was one of the only treats I had, although it wasn't that rare, I guess."

"Never made a pie before.." Vixen thoughtful on that. "Most food I've made was practical.. though maybe I should give it a try." Though just after noting this she fixes Leo with a firm look. "Just to be sure, don't you go thinking I'm gunna be some domestic for ya.. but that don't mean I can't spoil you now and then. Or share doing house stuff. Alright?"

Leonard returns the solid look as he leans forward to place his own elbows on the table. "Vixen, I'm just happy when we're both in the same place at the same time, even more when that happens to be home. I don't expect anything like that. You're not my mother, nor a housewife or whatever. Not that I wouldn't mind your cooking, of course." At least he thinks he wouldn't.

Vixen grins. "Well, I cook fine.. for some things. Simple things. But baking.. never done it before." She then shrugs and glances to the side, scanning some of the folk nearby. "Shouldn't be too hard, right? Just follow the instructions.. but some things into a pan and bake it a while." She seems confident enough in that, anyway.

"I thought reading directions and tossing stuff in a pan was /my/ version of cooking?" A chuckle is loosed, but Leonard shakes his head. "One of the few things I do know is that they take forever to make. My mom worked at this little place. Cheap food, cheap customers, cheap pay. Once a month or so, she'd scrape up enough fruit for filling, and she'd go in early to make it. If any was left after a few days, they'd let me come in after closing and have a piece with her while she was cleaning everything."

"Then you wont' get it often," Vixen replies, grinning at Leo. "Just when I get the urge to hang around for a while and don't just want to watch vids, read or something else." She breathes out lowly and lets her head lay on her crossed arms, tilted to regard Leo. "I wonder.. well, I wonder about a lot of things, but right now I'm wondering about what you want again. I mean, I know you don't really want much.. just what we got, but even then everyone has little urges and wants and preferences and such."

Leonard considers that for a long while before responding. "I don't know, really. I guess I'd like to have something ...stable. Not that I have any complaints about our little adventures, but... I can go nearly anywhere I wish. Here, a beach across the planet, some world in another realm that people don't even know exists. For someone who can run wherever, it'd be nice to have somewhere to come back to."

"We got that, don't we?" Vixen smiles a little. "I mean, we got a place.. and all our stuff is there. I ain't planning on going no where anytime soon.. and if you ain't, then I think we got that pretty good. I mean, we ain't hitched or nothing, but that don't matter. I 'm not out looking or anything. And I'm not thinking about 'what next' right now either. Cause I kinda like where we are."

"We do." A slight nod, perhaps made more solid by his smile, or the fact that he reaches her cheek. "I don't think I deserve what I have, but it's what I want, and..." An inordinantly large dish filled with their mountain of an order now decides to arrive, causing his eyes to widen. "I hope we're really hungry."

"Told you, man." Vixen gives Leo a smug grin as she picks up her spoon. "I'll eat what I can, but I'm not getting sick over this, that's for sure.. might get a headache or two." She digs her spoon in and takes a big bite. A genuine pleasure coming to her expression as she shares this treat with Leo, the two working at it until they can no longer before taking their night together elsewhere.
