It's getting close to closing time for the Library, and the place is nearly emptied out, only a few hold outs seem to be oblivious of the time. Emayn appears to be one of them, she sits near the middle of a bank of desks, a stack of books next to her and one opened before her. She types into her notebook style computer quickly, and with practiced ease, her eyes on the book as she clacks away. She's dressed in that rare casual look, Jeans and a baby-T, her hair pulled back slick over her head with a wide cloth headband.

The library is a place of refuge for the bookish, especially on a Friday eve. Therefore, it is little surprise that Leonard enters, offering an apologetic look to the librarian at his late arrival. "I'll be brief." Of course, the peering could also be due to his current companion. One does not typically expect pets to be allowed, presuming that the black bird bobbing along on its shoulder perch could be considered that.

Emayn leans back in her chair and stretches her arms over her head, and exaggerated yawn wracking her body as she allows her head to roll, her eyes taking in the emptying library around her. Leo's new friend coaxes an arched eyebrow from her before she smirks, her already outstretched arm waving in his direction as she "Pssssssts", projecting her voice his way.

Leonard catches the wave and begins a smile which twists to match her smirk with her loud whisper. "I didn't expect to find you here. A little light reading before bed?" A mild tease, obviously, somewhat offset by the very intently curious and black-eyed stare from his fine feathered friend.

Ema closes the book in front of her and tosses it up on top of her stack befor turning a bit to face you, her chair making a loud dragging sound as she winces, "I'm always where you least exspect me" she says, peering, her face looking oddly dangerous for a moment before she grins, chuckling, "Long time no see, it seem. Sportin' a new look, I see." Her eyes dart up to the bird on you shoulder, "Gonna introduce me to your new friend?"

"You are talented at that." Leonard chuckles. "It has been awhile... which reminds me that we will be leaving soon on our venture quite soon, and as a smaller group. I would introduce him, but be doesn't exactly have ..." He pauses at something before casting a sidelong glance which is met by the raven. A shrug follows and Leonard looks back to her. "This is... Edgar."

"Edgar huh?" Emayn says as an eyebrow arches, her head giving a quick shake before she smirks and looks back over at you, amusment shining in her dark eyes, "You're a bit of a strange one, Leo." she says as she reaches to to tap a few more times on her laptop before closing it, "Oh yeah? Smaller group, huh. What happened?"

Leonard rolls his shoulders with a smirk. "I didn't pick the name. Not sure where he came up with it, either." He then nods to her question. "Just you, Flare, Bek and myself. The rest may be forming a second pack, as he calls them. He wishes to keep the groups small, for many reasons."

Ema's eyes narrow, and she hrmphs softly, "He's a bit of a weird one too, That Norwick. What's his story? He gave off a sort of strange vibe when he walked in on us at the Gunnery." her eyes dart up to the bird and stay on him for a minute before returning to yours, "He give reasons for the smaller groups, or just said he had many?"

"Cost, foremost," Leonard admits, "but discretion and ease are also good reasons." Her peer does not go unnoticed by him nor the raven, and the latter hops from his shoulder to the tabletop. Reflexively, Leonard adds, "He won't harm you, if you're concerned of that."

"Oh, I'm not afraid of that." she says, arm shooting out to try to give Leo a playful punch in the leg, "Its just not every day you see a man having some sort of conversation with a bird, a bird he's just suddenly shown up with out of the blue." She looks up at you, and what could almost be called concern shows on her face for a second, "Being in charge isn't taking a toll on you, is it?"

Leonard's smirk enlarges and turns more wry. "He's been with me in some fashion since I arrived here, Ema, although he does prefer to fly about. Or did." His face softens more to a smile. "It hasn't been easy, but I'll see it through. I'm not going to roll over and give up."

Emayn seems to brighten as she stands, tucking her laptop into a shoulder bag that was thrown over the back of her chair. After adjusting the bag on her own shoulder, her stack of books gets tucked under her left arm, "That's good, I was worried for a minute their that maybe you were cracking a bit under the preasure." she looks around, "I'll walk with you, you're here for something in paticular?"

"Thanks for the encouragement, Ema. I had hoped to sate a few last-minute curiosities," his shoulders roll as Leonard glances back towards the desk to find peering in their direction is still present, "but maybe another time. Where are you headed?" Perhaps cued, the bird leaves the able in a flutter of black feathers to reclaim its perch.

"I just meant, you're here for a book or something? I was just offering to walk and talk, so you could grab what you needed before the librarians come after us with weapons." she swings her books around to be held in both arms on her chest, "As for me, gonna check this out, drop them off at home, and then hit the town, its friday night, after all. " she looks from bird to Leo and grins, "Taken Edgar there to the Alibi yet?"

Leonard laughs. "A book that will still be here in the morning. I've not taken him about the city, yet, no, although he's flown through it a fair extent. Planning for music and drinks, maybe some dancing? You're certainly dressed for relaxed fun."

"I was going to hit home first, change while dropping this stuff off" Ema motions with her stack of books, "Probably take a quick shower too. Then with the dancing for sure, and the drinks. You going to be coming out tonight? A little fun before the storm?" she tosses you a wink, and a bit of a mischievious grin, "I'm sure Desmond could restrain himself from making a snack of your friend...." she chuckles playfully, teasing.

"Desmond is far more reserved than that, and I'd love to." Leonard's laugh diminishes to a chuckle. "I can certainly walk you home, since it's hardly out of my way, but I won't be of much help with the shower."

"Maybe Edgar then?" she grins wickedly, taking her first steps towards a self-check out counter, "I'll probably take a bit of time to get ready, and relax a bit, but after that i'm definitely going out. I was thinking the Alibi, and was going to try to see if I could get Rebekkah out as well. It'll be good times." she seems to snicker as smiles, her eyes staring off thoughtfully as she approaches the counter.

Leonard moves along with her as they converse, forced to smirk at her mischievious suggestion. "Only if you enjoy voyeurs. I don't know what he would do other than watch. Not that that would not be worthwhile, but not very helpful. He might well be a better dancer than I am, though." mornings are her own once more

Ema laughs as she scans her books, tucking them into her bag one by one. She swipes a card and adjusts her now overstuffed bag, taking asecond to remove a book as she looks back over at you, "So how's Vixen taking to him?" she asks, motioning with her hand towards the exit, the Librarians practically looming over you two as she heads for the door.

"She shouldn't be suspicious of you though, right? Of your judgement?" she looks up at you as she opens the door for you, smiling as she waits for you to pass through, "Well, what do I know, really. Somethings take time, I guess." she looks up at the bird as they pass, "And he's just been flying around doing his whole thing by himself for a while?" she asks, changing the subject.

Leonard's smile returns suddenly, offered as he passes through the doorway and outside. Because of this, he doesn't offer a more informative reply just yet.

Once on the street, Ema slows her gait, taking in the pleasant evenining, "So, do you think we're up too it, this ambush your friend has planned?" She looks over at you, smiling pleasantly, "You trust this Norwick? That he's going to do right by us?" She watches your face as she awaits your answer, her eyes seeking yours.

"I don't doubt his distaste for the Coalition, and he has put much effort of his own into it." Leonard finally nods. "He has not told us everything, and has his own agenda, but I think that he will make good on what he has promised."

"Ok, i've said this before, and I mean it this time, but thats good enough for me." She walks a bit more in silence, "Think we should maybe try to get some of our new team together, for tonight, I mean? Do some "getting to know the person you're about to trust with your life" partying?", her pleasant smile returning, eyes a little firty.

Leonard's head tilts as he considers that and he gives a grinning shrug. "Why not? I can think of worse fates than buying drinks for the ladies that are likely going to keep me from getting shot. The roll of his shoulders seems to dislodge his other companion, who takes flight to the sky.

"I'll make some calls, I maybe embarrassed Rebekkah last time we spoke, I was sorta playing with her..." she looks up at the sky and seems to consider something, "I think she'll probably still be down if she doesn't work. Anyway, you seem to attract more ladies than is good for you, but I guess you can't be faulted for that." she smiles, eyes trailing off after the bird as she watches it head off.

"You? Playing?" Leonard almost sounds amazed, if it weren't for his smirk. "I think I just attract trouble, in quantity. It does have its perks, though. If nothing else, the view is quite pleasant." His own eyes lift briefly before he continues on a different tack. "I'm glad that you seem to have more faith in my judgement, or don't overreact, at least. She isn't quite so keen on the idea of an extra pair of eyes."

"I think that was half of what attracted you to me, in the end, that I was more than a little different." she shurgs, a soft smile on her lips, "Maybe I ended up being too different in the end, but still, there are a few qualities I have that you must like." she grins mischieviously, "Even if its just my not being opposed to someone watching..." she chuckles, eyes on you as she teases, no doubt hoping to have coaxed a reddening in your cheeks, the sound pleasant and matched with the tinkling of her earning, a sound that has not been present up until now.

Leonard does not blush. Well, mostly, but a wide grin helps to minimize the rest. "You are very... unburdened, which is different for me, but I'm working on that." As a pointed mark of that, he adds, "I can't blame anyone for watching. I'm guilty, myself, in fact."

Ema looks over at you, interests flashing in her eyes as bells chime musically, and then cease, suddenly, "Oh do tell! Is young Leo a voyeur? Like to watch a bit?" her eyes are bright, and her grin noticeably as she snickers playfully, "Learn something new about you every day!"

"Hah, perhaps you need to choose your words a bit better, watching and noticing or admiring all can mean different things." She nudges out with her elbow, "I think you like to get yourself in a bit of trouble. Maybe even steer yourself a bit?" she lets out another chuckle, dark eyes scanning about once more, looking for the bird she knows is out their somewhere, her smile unbroken.

Leonard oofs with some exaggeration at the nudge, grinning back. "Well, those words certainly sound better than staring or drooling, don't they? I suppose that I might have a knack for finding trouble, since I did run into you. Does escorting you home qualify, as well?" From afar, Brun grins, "I mean, -I- am a girl, not just the char." You paged Brun with 'Well nice to meet ya, at anyrate ;)' Brun pages: ditto!

"Its hard to say, I guess." she says evasively, grinning happily, "Some might think so..." she trails off for a second, "Some might just -want- to think so too." her voice and movement is full of casual flirting for a moment, and she smiles, books in hand as she continues her walk, "Still, I think it would be generally accepted as the polite, gentlemanly thing to do."

"My thoughts exactly." Leonard doesn't specify exactly which as the Carafe looms near. "Fortunately for me, I can also consider it neighborly. What has kept you so occupied lately, anyhow?"

"Oh you know, work, getting some things in order. I had a client that needed someone found, so I went and found them" she shrugs, "boring stuff really, but it pays the bills." She looks over at you, "Should I come over and Knock on your door when I'm ready to go, to be neighborly, of course." she smirks, looking forward, "Or did you just want to me meet me there?"

Leonard nods with the explanation of what to her must be tedium. "I wonder if I am the only one in the city without gainful employment. I should shower and change, myself, too. Since two would be a bit crowded, you're welcome to knock when you're ready." This time, he seems to slip his own innuendo in nearly deadpan. He may not have even realized it.

"A pity, really." she grins walking a bit slower as they approach the stairs leading up to the buildling, her large black eyes falling on yours with a grin, "It doesn't bother you, if I flirt a bit in private with you, does it? I'll behave myself, of course, but I sorta like a bit of tension..." she tilts her head questioningly, belled ears chiming, "But I guess I never asked you if it was ok?

"You are joking, right?" Leonard's face turns somewhere between incredulous and smirk. "I enjoy different, and flirtation is definitely that, especially directed my may. I welcome the practice, not to mention the fun. Did I mention that I was actually propositioned a week ago? Apparently, you're no longer the only one to do so, anymore." He offers this last tidbit with a mix of surprise, pride, and mild challenge.

"You have a quality about you that I have no trouble beliving causes women to gravitate towards you." she grins, shrugging a bit as something flashes in her eye, "Who came onto you? Where did you meet this new lady!" she asks, poking out with her elbow once more, playing the shocked friend, "I do hope I'm the best of the rest, still!" she teases once more, her self deprecation a rare jest.

Leonard looks dubious, still, but smiles. "I have trouble believing that, but thank you. Of course, she was also rather inebriated, so that is an easy excuse. Despite all the ladies about, I don't keep a harem. You're the best and only, Ema, as that goes." As they near the door, he quickens his steps forward to open it, as implied by her prior noting of gentlemanliness.

A graceful Cursey follows the opening of the door, Ema's grace and practiced movement would have seemed at home at fancy ball, it seems almost odd in her current getup, "Thank you my good sir" she says playfully waiting for you before hitting the elevator button, "You're not too over confident yet, which is good, its half of your allure.

"Good." Leonard chuckles as the door remains open a moment longer to allow a wayward blackbird to swoop inside. It hops along the floor as he moves to catch up, then relocates for a ride. "I'm attempting to avoid becoming an ass. Again."

The door opens as Ema lets out a pleasant laugh, "Well you let me know if ever find yourself wanting to become an ass, for some reason, I'm always there to help a friend!" she steps into the elvator, spinning as she does and pushing the button for their communal floor, her eyes watching you as you come in, "I might stop by the Nut and Bolt real quick on my way over to the Alibi, see if Bek is around. Want to me to get you for that, or just meet up with you somewhere?'

Leonard rolls his shoulders, though it doesn't disrupt the renewed stares at Ema from one of them. "It's up to you. I've no idea how long you need to make yourself ready..." His words trail off and he looks to the raven with a smirk. "No, she wasn't serious about inviting you in to watch her."

"You sure about that?" Ema teases as she steps through the opened elevator door onto your floor, heading down towards her door, "I a little familiar with familiars," she says with a wide grin, a wink following, "could be win win, for us, get him out of Vixen's hair for a bit..." she unlocks her door and grins, looking over at you, "You might even enjoy it." a playful laugh and chiming bells ring out as her door opens, "I'll see you in a bit, will probably head to the Nut and Bolt first, see who I can round up." she looks back to the bird, grinning, "Last chance!"

Leonard pauses at her reply a moment before following her out with a bemused shake of his head. "I guess I'm not..." He and the bird share another brief glance before he shrugs. His feathered friend then dismounts with a leap and partial glide for Emayn's shoulder. Apparently, it's much easier to ride than hop, since there's little room for flight.

A final winks marks Emayn's exit into her apartment, a familiar, naughty smile on her lips as she offers you a final wave before shutting the door with a giggle, "You'll be seeing me!" she says playfully through door, and then is silent.
