Golden Carafe - Leonard's Room

It's a quiet evening at home and Vixen is spending it in style. She's drawn out her usual homey, comfortable garb for evenings in and has removed the subtle makeup she wears. Subtle despite the considerable collection of cosmetics that she brought with her when she moved in. The couch has been taken over by she and Tiger, she laid out casually along it, Tiger curled up against her middle. One hand lightly toys with his fur as she lounges quietly, a half full glass of her favored strawberry tequila close to hand. With her eyes half closed, she lets the time slip by slow and entirely wasted.
Leonard's time of quiet might be upcoming, now that he's home. He enters rather unobtrusively, not causing much more stire than the unlatching and movement of the door. Cloak is doffed and hung, shoes slipped off, then a sigh as he moves for the living room. Her presence is not quite so conspicuous, even with the socks, when feet aren't jutting out from the end of the couch.
This time, she's within the confines of the couch, Vixen's slight frame fitting snugly along the length without a need to hunch or bend. THough even with his quiet entry, the stillness is disturbed, more so for one with a cyber enhanced ear. She looks towards Leo slowly and a light smile comes to her lips. She waits for him to move in before she murmurs, "Welcome home. You should get comfy, it's a nice way to let the time roll past," she notes, one foot lifting slightly to wiggle sock encased toes.
"I'd love to," Leonard chuckles softly at her welcoming suggestion, sitting heavily in the chair, "but it seems to fly by more than fast enough, right now." The top pair of buttons on his shirt are undone while he watches her lounge, the combined acts appearing to relax him somewhat.
"Aww.." Vixen's soft murmur as he settles, she turning her head to keep eyes on him. "You should get into something better. When I got this stuff on, I'm in for the long haul," she notes, tugging lightly at her long shirt. "Loose and airy, it's about as comfortable as you can get." She settles that hand atop Tiger again, lightly stroking her fingers through his fur. "You got anything like this?"
A smile curls Leonard's lips. "Well, I don't have socks near as colorful, nor do I look anywhere as good in a loose shirt, but I'm sure that I can find something." He continues to enjoy the view of Vixen another moment as he rises again, then retreats to the bedroom. Leonard emerges a few minutes later in what must be the pinnacle of casual for him, short of lounging nude in the tub. Slacks are replaced with a pair of thinned and ragged sweats, and a plain navy tee covers the rest. He lingers in the doorway briefly to strike a half-pose. "Better?"
"Can't wait," Vixen murmurs as he gets up to go get his cozy clothing. And while she's waiting that brief time she toys with Tiger, enough so that eventually he gets m ildly annoyed and hops down from the couch, Vixen grinning after him. And its about then that Leo calls and she lifts herself up just enough to peek over the back of the couch. She bobs her head and motions for him to come over. "C'mon, I'll show you how to let the time slip right past."
"More lessons from the expert?" A mild tease with Leonard's approach to the couch, proof the the change in clothing might be having some effect. He settles onto the floor at her hip, brow arching and finger nudging her stomach, "Or were you requesting another footrub?"
"Nah, that wouldn't help you relax," Vixen murmurs. She'll reach out to him, guiding him to sit with his back to the couch itself. Such that she can curl up a little behind him, her arms draped over his shoulders lightly. She murmurs by his ear then, "Just let your body relax. And let your mind wander a little. Away from whatever you've been out there doing, off into.. a fog, I guess. Or a mist or just into space. Don't really look at nothing, just relax your mind."
Now it's Leonard's turn to murmur as he adjusts his position. "Mmm... I think I can do that." All the better to lean back into the edge of the couch and, more importantly, her. Quite the comfortable arrangement and his eyes close so as not to look at anything in particular.
Vixen leans in slightly, lips brushing against the side of his neck. "You just.. don't do nothing, babe. Don't think.. don't worry.. just let the time pass. About as relaxing as it gets with nothing to make you tense up or worry or anything. Even hobbies can make you tense. When I'm playing my games, I can get a little tense. LIke this.. I just don't get tense at all. Tiger helps, cause his purr and soft fur are a nice little distraction from whatever is going on."
Leonard leans his head back and a smile tugs at his lips. "I think I like your soothing better than Tiger's, but he is comfortable. He must have relaxing perfected to the smallest detail, with all his practice. You're not bad, yourself, considering you're always on the move..."
"Yeah, his whole life is relax time," Vixen agrees with a light little laugh. "When you move around a lot like I do, you gotta enjoy when you're standing still," she notes. "Like soldiers learn to just sleep at the drop of a hat cause at times you gotta get it while you can." Her chin lays lightly on his shoulder. "What'd you do to relax before?"
"I don't know anything of soldiering," his smile turns to smirk, "as I'm sure you can tell. Before, I'd read. Nothing taxing nor technical, but just enjoyable literature. Now, I've taken to listening to music. No idea why..." The smirk broadens, but his eyes stay closed.
"Because with music you don't have to think. You just let the music flow and go along with it," Vixen murmurs lowly. "You don't even really have to listen to it. Just let it do its thing in the background and you do your thing, whatever that thing is." She breathes out lightly and slips back slowly. "C'mon up here, Leo. I want you to tell me something about you.. something I don't know yet. Anything that comes to mind." She shifts back a little, rolling into a seated posture as she waits to be joined.
Leonard straightens and re-opens his eyes to cast her a curious glance. He still rises enough to reseat himself on the couch proper alongside her, though. "Something you don't know... that might be easier asked thann answered. Sometimes I think that you know more about me than I do..."
"Nah, I don't know all that much," Vixen murmurs, slipping in close to Leo. She leans her head on his shoulder, arms loosely wrapping him with her legs curled under her. "Can't really know everything about someone. Even if its just little things you don't know. You ever have a pet.. got any brothers or sisters? Good friends?"
"I suppose not, but there's no reason not to try." He leans into her a little, relaxing once more. "No pets, unless you count vermin. I think they ate better than we did, many times. It's just me, but I do have good friends. All of them here in Kingsdale..." A wide grin forms, then twists wryly. "All women, too."
Vixen smirks a little, but leaves her head on his shoulder. "Well, now you got some firsts. First nice pet and someone to be real close to who wants to be close too." She smiles lightly, falling quiet as she settles in with him for the quiet time.
Leonard's arm lifts to drape around her, not that much could improve on the current comfort. "You're part of nearly all those firsts, babe," she receives a slight squeeze from that arm, "and I wouldn't have had it any other way." Already spoken too much beforehand, he now joins her in the quiet part of their shared quiet time.
