The current game time is: Mon May 09 06:38:32 106 PA.
Sindri is settled up to the bar during one of the industrial bar's quieter times. A large mug of warm black stout rests in front of him, and he's eating a plate of subpar Bar Nachos. Which means they're wonderful for some one who just came in from the wilderness, cooling off to a nice beer and some cheap greasy food. His claws toss chips layered with cheese and..what is likely meat. Maybe it's just spam, course, Sindri doesn't care, he's lived off cold MREs before and nutrient paste. His boot lightly taps against his stool to the music, and oddly, he actually seems to enjoy the place.
Vixen steps into the Nut and Bolt with purpose, her slight form waving past tables closely and skipping around a leaving patron before she moves up to the bar itself. She's already got a collection of credit chips in hand which she sets on the bar in a neat stack. "Two bottles of the good whiskey," she says to the bartender, who eyeballs the stack of credits, then turns to collect the bottles. Vixen considers a moment, then adds, "Might as well toss in a quick shot along with that." She glancing towards Sindri as she slips a hand into her coat, fishing for a few more credits.
Sindri's eyes move momentarily to look towards Vixen. "Hello Again." He just says, not truly sure what to make of Vixen, and if she's ordering up two bottles of decent Whiskey, he isn't sure he wants to be around when the fighting breaks out. He simply couldn't afford to pay a doctor to patch him up right now. So instead, he just takes another large mouthful of Nachos, chewing the food up carefully before swallowing, and washing it down with a large gulp of his stout before wiping his paws and muzzle off with a bar napkin. "Care for some?" He asks Vixen, pushing the nachos her way.
After setting the chips with the rest, Vixen responds, "Hey yourself. You're more relaxed." A casual comment as she turns, leaning back slightly against the bar itself as she waits. THe bottles aren't too long in coming, tall and good quality without being too heavy on the pocket. She's reaching back to the first bottle when he offers up the nachos. She holds hte bottle loosely between her fingers as she eyeballs the stuff. "Ugh.. never eat at places like this," she concludes. "I can make better myself." She then slips the first, then the second bottle into her satchel carefully. By then the shot has come, but she leaves it lie for a moment as she adjusts the contents of that satchel carefully.
Sindri is just beginning to offer Vixen some of the nachos he's consuming during the bar's quieter hours. She seems to be distracted with putting two bottles of whiskey into a stachel she's carrying with her, and has made some comment to illicit laughter from Sindri. "So could I, but I have to run over an hour to reach the city, longer if I walk. The food is cheap, and doesn't make me ill, but perhaps you non canines can not digest things as well. I rarely eat such foods though, I consider it a distinct treat.." He murmurs to Vixen, twisting a bit to look at her, holding his stout to mouth again, lapping at the beer with his tongue.
"Won't make me sick, but it tastes like shit," Vixen says quite plainly, the two bottles adjusted such that something soft muffles them and guards them from shattering. She'll close it up then and turn, facing the bar itself. She picks up the shot glass, but postpones emptying it to wave it slightly in Sindri's direction. "Buy yourself a bag of chips, some good cheese and you can make your own cheaper and better tasting. You can season it up how you like too. A lot better, unless you're in a hurry."
Flare slips into the bar and glances around for a moment, there appears to be a hint of glitter in her crimson hair as moves more into the place and dips her head to a few as she makes her way to the bar.
Sindri's nose twitches, a scent familiar, and still some what scary. Flare. He continues to converse with Vixen as Flare makes her way over, but he will soon look upon her. "I'm not at home." He says to Vixen with a lopsided grin. "My home is in the woods, I can not cook here, so I just buy food.." Then he turns to flare, beer and nachos forgotten, that pint glass sliding down onto the bar and a hand moving to pat his lap. "Hello Flare!" He says, he seems to have taken a liking to her.
"Then maybe you should get a place around here. Never catch me living out there," Vixen states, a slight grimace touching her expression. "I like being in the place where there are a lot of guns keeping things out." She lifts the short glass and tosses it back easily, eyes closed for a moment. After a brief tremble she emits a rough breath and plants the glass on the bar. "That hit it," she murmurs to herself, glancing towards Flare as she nears.
Flare dips her head, "Hello," she says as she smiles and then slips onto one of the other bar stools and orders herself something to drink, "What's up?"
Sindri laughs softly at the views Vixen has on living out in the woods. "We're just discussin my living arrangements there Flare.." He says to her with a nod. "I like the fact I don't have to struggle just to have breathing room.."
Vixen eyes Sindri. "Who says you have to struggle to have room here? Got plenty at the park. Besides, no one's stopping you from going out the gates whenever you want." She shakes her head slightly. "Me, when I sleep I like to know that some big, nasty thing won't be coming up to knock on my door. At least, not before all the shooting gives me plenty of warning to get suited up."
Flare shrugs, "My place is well enough, small trailer, but works." she says and shakes her head a bit.
Sindri shakes his head a bit at Vixen. "I like my cabin." He says with a smile before turning to Flare. "Can I buy you a drink?" He asks, perhaps he some how feels like he's obligated to buy her a drink, that, or she's empty and needs one. "You should come some time, both of you. It is very safe, I watch the area, and it is only a half mile or so from the Highway.." he murmurs.
"Why?" Vixen's simple question to the invitation. "I hardly even know you, man. For all I know, you're some kind of deviant." Though the comment is given with an almost playful edge, there's a firmness in her eyes as she studies Sindri a moment or two after that counters the casualness of the comment.
Sindri snorts softly at that mention. "Don't worry, if the big bad wolf kidnaps little red riding hood, the Feline Duo can roll in to save her. Sides, what if some day, you end up in those woods, trying to run, could be useful to know about a safe spot, no?" He says, though he doesn't seem really to be pushing it. "Though on the other hand, I don't know if I want you to drag a mass of trouble to my home.." he murmurs.
"If I'm out there, I'll have my Highwayman and a half mile ain't that far," Vixen replies, shaking her head. "It's morning and the Nut and Bolt is in a quiet period. Vix and Sin are at the bar, with Vix herself leaned back against it, her satchel already bulging softly with the two bottles she set into it. "Besides, you don't know if when you turn your back I'll shoot ya in it. Just like I don't know that you don't got some ulterior motive. So might as well just keep it light for now." She shakes her head then and wonders. "What 'feline duo'?"
Sindri is amused by the motion of shooting in the back, or ulterior motives. "People continue to allude to these ulterior motives, I can only guess it is some thing that plagues Humans and other DBees. As for the Infamous Feline Duo, I reference Kesslan and Desmond, Kesslan knows where I live, but I told him to not tell others unless an emergency occured, and even then..." He doesn't say it, but who could understand Kesslan's directions?
Vixen shrugs her shoulders at the clarification of the two felines. "Don't know 'em." She looks at Sin then and notes, "Everyone has ulterior motives. Things you aim to do without saying or showing it. You say you don't got 'em, you're lying through your teeth. Just depends what sort they are and how much people will be pissed after they find out what they are."
Morning, and another late start for Leonard. He enters the bar even as a yawn is stifled, heading in the direction of the bar. There are several who might be present with whom he needs speak, but it's the familiar crimson redhead that catches his notice first, and a smile begins to bloom. Only shortly thereafter is he aware of her canine conversation companion, and the smile withers. As he nears the bar proper on Vixen's unoccupied side, he offers a neutral "Morning."
Sindri's ears swivel a bit, and then lay flat. "I was not familiar with the concept. The Coalition doesn't tend to train smart soldiers, and I've only been literate under a year..and even then. I haven't had alot of chances to read a dictionary." He murmurs, going back to wolfing down Nachos, no pun Intended.
"Hey babe," Vixen replies as Leo comes near, turning towards him with a light smile. "I was wondering if you were going to get up or not." She leans in to play a kiss against his cheek. "Was picking up some celebration material.. assuming that Tirzah chick plans to pay out. Figure a cut should cover a few bottles, you know?" She grins broadly, then looks back towards Sindri. "So what other words don't you know, then?" Asked as she lightly snakes an arm around Leo's side.
With Vixen's shift in attentions, and subsequent affections, Leonard's neutrality and weariness become notably absent. They are replaced with a growing grin, the arm at his side mirrored as his hand reaches out for her far hip. "I expect that she would. A bottle or two for a rainy day is wonderful, since it has rained so often. I was wondering if U was going to get up, myself. It was a busy night."
Sindri seems to pause, any sign of affection lost on him. "I..would not know, I learn them as I am exposed. I have heard the term Ulterior Motives used when observing ineberiated men talking to females. I had assumed it was a possible physical attribute.." he murmurs.
"Yeah, that was some shit, wasn't it. But at least it was too stupid to do anything too bad, y'know?" Vixen grins at Leo, then considers Sin a moment. "Basically, drunk guys usually talk to girls looking to pick one up. But they don't just come around out and say it, but that's the goal. That's called ulterior motives. It's also called being an asshole. In my book at least. Nothing worse than some sour breathed idiot breathing down my neck when 'm trying to unwind."
"Bug aren't known for their cunning," Leonard chuckles, "even large ones. I'm just glad that they're also territorial." He looks across Vixen at the dogboy, attempting to hold his smile in place, and almost succeeding. "Deceit might be beyond his limited capacity, Vix. More than the sour breath, at least." Eyes return to her and the faltering smile curls to a smirk. "Don't forget amarous combat instructors."
Sindri lightly cants his head, he understands what Leonard says, but he doesn't want to upset Leonard. "I do not understand, why breed if not to have children? If it is already hard for these men to support them selves, why do they wish to have young ones to take care of?" He asks Vixen, pointedly.
"Relax, Leo," Vixen murmurs, her hip shifting to bump against his lightly. Though then Sindri speaks and she turns an intent look on him. "You can't be serious.." Her attention shifts back to Leo as she asks, "Leo, do you types got magic to detect bullshit? Cause that kinda thing I could really use right about now." Her head turns back to Sindri as she wonders, "Are you serious? Cause not every roll is to get knocked up. Not that anyone lets that stop 'em. PLenty of girls in the Dregs stuck with kids with no fathers anyway."
Leonard's bumped hip seems to include the proper button, as he relaxes. Somewhat. Sindri's apparent naivete on the current topic assists, and Vix's question doesn't hurt, either. In the end, he looses a chuckle. "I'm sure that I could conjure something up, but I think your detector would be better than mine, anyhow. You're the one with the nose for it." His head shakes at the hound with some measure of mirth. "The word 'fun' comes to mind as an answer. If it wasn't enjoyable, the women would never put up with it... and what's wrong with children?" His brow lifts in query to the woman at his side. "They can be wonderful, especially when you can hand them back to someone else."
Sindri's head cocks to one side, the canine expression of confusion and curiousness. "I am quite serious, until Miss Flare had offered me a lapdance.. I was unaware of such things. You see, with in the Coalition, I was not ..normal even by their standards of Dogboys. Thereby, due to my genetics, I was used at best, as breeding stock. I do not understand how it is fun, to be forced to have intercourse with some one you have never met before, and has been used in this manner their whole life. You smooth skins confuse me.." He says, rubbing his head.
Vixen snaps a glance at Leo at that last question, her eyes narrowing subtly. Though his added detail stays a potential firestorm. "I ain't good with kids," Vixen replies, her shoulders given a casual roll. "Don't want none neither, but then I take care of that on my end," she tells him in no uncertain terms. "Don't get no funny ideas." A little more for good measure before her attention returns to Sin, eyeing him for a few moments before she states simply, "Wouldn't put it past the Coalition, but if you've done it, you know it feels good. Ain't hard to realize that doing it just for fun is possible. Right?"
Leonard blinks at the unexpected vehemence of what he intended as a jest. Not that paving the road to one or more hells with his intentions is anything new. "I... wasn't getting any ideas." Sindri is now an almost welcome diversion as he nods to the canine. "Removing the Coalition from the scenario makes anything and everything significantly more enjoyable. 'Fun' is not something that typically occurs in their presence."
Sindri leans slightly forward, apparently in deep thought, ears amusingly dipping up and down as a gesture he apparently picked up some where. "It is not fun to commit what is considered rape. I haven't tried this...breeding you Smooth Skins enjoy so much in over two years. I am afraid to even enjoy a lapdance, I do not understand human culture." He says, shrugging, his brain strained to grasp and try to carry on an intelligent polite conversation about a topic he knew nothing of. "May I buy your friend a Drink? He looks like he needs one Ms. Bombshell." He says, trying to use a word he clearly only recently picked up.
"Vixen," said young woman states, prodding a finger in the dogboy's direction. "And he's Leonard." A thumb jerked back towards him. She then shrugs and notes, "We don't call it breeding. It's just sex. I guess you'll have to find out how things work on your own if you ain't ever done it natural. There's nothing to understand, really. You find someone to do it with that wants to, feels good and that's all there is to it. It's about the simplest thing in the world, once you get past the emotions."
"There is nothing wrong with those, either, Bombshell... and I could use a drink, yes." First is a mild prodding of Vixen before the latter is given to Sindri with a nod from Leonard. Breeding and/or sex may not be the best topics for intelligent nor polite conversation, perhaps, and he attempts to shift it elsewhere. "How did you come to find yourself here? As unique as you claim to be, I'd expect them to keep a close eye on your activities."
Sindri politely nods his head and lightly taps his own chest. "Sindri." He says before flagging down a Bartender and ordering Leonard the same black beer (guinness) that is is drinking. "You wish to know how I escaped? The Coalition made a mistake in estimations. I was deemed to have subpar intelligence, but superior physical stamina, making me an ideal long range scout. Long Range Patrols often allow one to have considerable time to think. My dissident idealogy formed in time, and I managed to escape by leading my own Squad Mates into an ambush..." He murmurs. "Well, that is the short of it. I likely confirmed for them to cease use of Wolf Genetic material to grow another Sindri in a test tube.."
Vixen eyes Leo as he uses the name as well, though the rest of his words soften her just slightly. "Well, emotions are good sometimes," she agrees, shifting to lean into him just a bit. "But I mean when you're not with no one. Some people put emotion into sex when its just for fun." She grows quiet as the talk turns to Sindri's escape, though she's obviously listening, her eyes shifting towards the canine to eye him.
Leonard nods to Vixen, a softening smile dipping with his head. "I know. Somewhat, at least." Sindri's tale then consumes the remainder of his attention as he listens. "They are rather convinced of their own superiority, and hubris can easily be exploited. Free thought is not something they encourage. All the more reason they started growing you and your kind in the first place." His tone is decidedly neutral, focused upon the facts of the matter. The arriving drink is taken and a tentative sip, as well. "You make efficient trackers and killers."
Sindri lightly cants his head and pointedly refers to the fact Leonard doesn't seem to enjoy his company. "Is this why you do not like me Leonard?" He asks, referencing the fact he was created to be a killer. Then his eyes drift towards Vixen. "Bombshell, what do you think of this? The Coalition? Me?" he asks her, curiousity getting the better.
Vixen keeps silent until SIndri refers to her. "Vixen," she corrects him again, her eyes narrowed subtly. "Next one that calls me that is going to get hit." With that out of the way, she answers things in a simple way. "The Coalition can implode for all I care. As to you and yours, I take 'em like I take everyone else. One at a time and careful because I've seen good ones and bad ones, human and not. As long as you don't fuck around with me, I'll return the favor."
"Vixen." Leonard nods firmly as he supports her, this time. "She hits quite hard, too. As for my reasons..." His countenance firms further as he considers an appropriate response. "I tend to disagree with something that nearly ate me."
Sindri looks towards Leonard when he confirms about the punching. "I see, does she hit as hard as Meu?" He says, teasing the two of them about his rather unusual friend and protector. "I have not tried to eat you, have I Leonard? I don't believe I have. I don't eat Manflesh. To Fatty and chemical seal like tasting.." He says, momentarily, talking like Kesslan. "I do not understand many things, this may cause problems with those unusued to Dogboys, won't it?" He asks Vixen.
"Leo, you don't see this one trying to eat you.. relax." Vixen looks to him as she notes. "I know you had some problems, but most Dog Boys that ain't with them no more ain't for a reason. Not to say you can trust 'em all, but you can as much as you can your average guy on the street." She the looks at Sin and shrugs her shoulders slightly. "More people too used to Dog Boys that are still with the Coalition. They leave a mark and it ain't all that easy to just forget what you seen."
Leonard rolls his shoulders in a general reply before taking a more hearty draw from his glass. "An interesting beer... and she's quite right, as usual." This is noted to Sindri, and a significant portion of smile returns to his features. "Considering the Line here, and the nature of Kingsdale, you can expect a great deal of suspicion. Maybe a constant headache, as well. There is definitely no love for the Coalition here."
Sindri's right paw jerks towards the outside. "This is why I leave in the wilderness, there is no Ley Line. I can not visit a third of this city, or I will get headaches and nose bleeds." He murmurs in agreement with them, he found out about the Leyline the hard way. "The Beer is an approximation of a traditional Irish Stout, best served Warm, but people do not enjoy it warm around here..C'est la vie!" he exclaims.
Vixen shrugs her shoulders slightly. "Your life, your choice man," she replies to Sindri. "Personally, I'm tired of talking about the Coalition. I hear enough about them most days and its too early to be getting into that shit." She looks to Leo. "What'd you have planned today? After that trip, I was thinking about something light." She grins a little and suggests, "Maybe we can go see how much the two seaters cost.. though I guess maybe we don't need that since you got that jet pack."
"Sorry..." Her annoyance provokes an apology, even if Leonard wasn't solely responsible for the topic. The trailing smile lightens things, however. "You don't need to get a new bike on my account, Vix, though it would give me an easy excuse to hang on tightly. The pack is a bit loud, and clumsy, at least for me." A chuckle follows. "That was the first time I've used it in a long while. I'm surprised that I didn't collide with something."
Sindri lightly cants his head and looks at Vixen. "You have a hover cycle?" He asks, suddenly interested, if she's observant, she can see his paws curling into form, a fading memory. "I have not gotten to operate a hover cycle in several years, they are quite..fun." He says, not saying dangerous, because it might infer a reason to not trust him! "Mr. Leonard, perhaps you can teach me how to use a Jetpack?" he asks.
"Motorcycle," Vixen replies. "Where I lived before, never had enough to get anything better, so I learned what I could," she states simply. "Besides, not so easy to do jumps when you don't have jets and all that to shoot you up or catch you if you mess up." She smirks casually and looks at Leo with a subtle frown. "You should use that thing morer.. get rusty and when you really need to use it, you're going to screw up. I take my bike out from time to time to keep sharp. A little ride around the city is good to keep the feel of it in mind."
"Yes, dear," Leonard hopes to mitigate the wry quip with his grin, "I'll try and get out with it more, as I need to do a bit more exploration, anyhow. The main reason I chose it over something more simple, since it's harder to lose when it's strapped to your back. Once the Tolkeen business is done, I should have nothing but time." His shoulders roll with a slight smirk to Sindri. "I'm hardly the best choice to instruct you on jet packs, if you hadn't noticed. You'd need to get one, first, and become familiar with it, too."
Sindri points at Leonard when he mentions buying one. "I can not rent one from you in exchange for fresh meat from forest?" He asks, thinking this is a good trade for what he's asking, perhaps not. "Miss Vixen, I have only used Hover cycles, but they are similiar to the motorcycle, just more advanced, and presumably, much faster!" he says, excitedly!
Vixen smirks faintly in response to Leo's jesting response. After giving him a light nudge in the ribs with he elbow, she eyes Sin. "Just Vixen," she corrects again, though casually. "Maybe they are, maybe they aren't. I'll stick with what I know. Don't got much use right now for more since it ain't like I could buy one. So learning to ride 'em ain't so useful. I don't travel much either."
Leonard shakes his head at Sindri's offer, but it draws out a chuckle. "No, thank you. I prefer my meat from the ... grocer." A light pause interrupts him as he's casually elbowed. This does remind him of a question for Vixen, as well. "How did your travels go, by the way?"
SIndri makes a 'Huh' noise as the fact is, grocers gotta kill to get their meat too. But he turns back to his food and beverage, allowing the two their conversation.
Vixen gives her shoulders a casual roll in response to Leo's question. "Oh fine, but the farmers are being as reluctant as the stores were. Though I'm hoping they won't be as stingy. If they are, maybe you and me are just going to have to try and help them start from scratch. Maybe someone will get a clue if we start helping the refugees build right outside the city itself." She shrugs her shoulders a little. "YOu still got that spell, right? For making wood? That way we can just give 'em the wood. Maybe buy some tools and nails and stuff.. I guess." She shakes her head slightly. "Or something like that. Never done nothing like this before, so I ain't sure just what to do." She pauses, then adds, "I'm going to Laramy soon with Cali, though. She's doing some work there, I'm going to.. well, keep an eye out. Will be a good chance to get some footage of Laramy.. see how things are going over there."
Leonard sighs softly at the less than joyous news. "Of course I still do. There are already some tools and nails and such out there, as well. Or there /were/, at least. I thought we might be able to get some of the hardware donated, also, in exchange for supplying the stores some planks for their inventory. Then it won't cost anything more than my arms tiring." His smile widens before he nods at mention of Laramy. "So you are going. Good. I remember Alistair speaking of it and you offering."
"Well, look into that then. Maybe start planning for that route. Collect up supplies, all that," Vixen replies. "Even if we get some of them settled, we're probably going to end up building something." She's thoughtful for a moment before her head is given a shake and she lets the thought slide past. "I didn't remember if I told you. It might be real soon, waiting on word now. Though I'd have to head back and score my armor before going anywhere. Ain't going out there without it, that's for sure."
"Oh! No rest for the bold and beautiful, then?" Leonard receives the news that the departure is imminent in a mixed fashion, but the surprise and implied compliment are clear enough. "I'll see how I can poke my own nose into matters while you're away, then. Maybe I work on my aerial acrobatics, as well. Or see if dogs can fly..." A hand motions to Sindri with a chuckle, and perhaps a belated consideration of the hound's earlier request. Leonard leans in to brush Vixen's cheek briefly with his lips. "I know you're always cautious, but I'll ask you to be careful, anyhow."
Vixen smirks a little at that last and pivots, turning and sidestepping to face Leo. She lifts her hands, lightly smoothing her palms over his cheeks. "Always, babe. Should just be a little run down and back.. Coalition won't care about lil ole me. Nothing special, just another random human. That'll even work for me, since they're so gung ho about humanity." She leans in to brush his lips with hers, then adds, "And we'll be all set for the homecoming." Her hip shifts a bit and the bottles in her bag clink dully, still muffled by the soft something that she slid between them.
Leonard's wide grin forces her hands slightly further apart. "I have a sneaking suspicion that I'll be anxiously awaiting that coming home, no matter how I attempt to distract myself. Still, you're welcome to keep the two of them away from garage as long as possible. I can understand what Alistair must face with Cali working herself to the bone all the time."
"He just needs to get her a hobby besides working," Vixen murmurs. "The girl is just a bit too focused on work.. that shouldn't be your hobby, since you wanna do something relaxing with off time." She shakes her head slightly and lowers her hands, casually turning to lean back against Leo, arms crossed low over her belly. "Me, I got plenty to do when I ain't running around. Something for whatever kinda mood I'm in."
Leonard adds his own arms to the crossing, lightly draping them over hers. "Maybe you could offer him some suggestions. Hobbies and personal advice seem the hot topics, lately." He looks over her shoulder to review the bar and those behind it. "I don't suppose you've seen Bek, lately? I'm acting the messenger, once more, and hoped to find her here."
Vixen shakes her head slightly. "Not since last night. Why, what'd you got to say to her? As to Cali, I dunno what to do with her, really. Chick just doesn't really lean much towards doing things other than working as far as I've seen. She's not much for games I'd say, doesn't seem to go to clubs much. Not sure if she'd read.. might show her some of mine.. maybe teach her some form of expression.. I dunno." She shakes her head again.
"Just the unexpected changes to the upcoming foray," Leonard remains vague as he rolls his shoulders, "and I need to update everyone. In fact, should continue on to see whom I can find, next. I don't have much time, since we'll be leaving in a few days." Vixen receives a squeeze from his arms before they release her. A brow arches as he offers a slightly teasing suggestion for the other concern. "Maybe you could take her shopping, also?"
Vixen doesn't blink at the vagueness, nodding once as she takes a step forward and turns as Leo releases her. "I don't think Cali needs that kinda help," she suggests, grinning idly. "Though I suppose I can ask her about that. I'll just have to think about it a bit, maybe just spring the idea of doing something new on her without anything specific."
Flare makes her way back to the bar and glances around a little, she mutters a bit under her breath and then seems whom is still around.
Sindri is seated at the bar, having turned away from Vixen and Leo. Not that he doesn't enjoy their company, but he's looking some how, unhappier then usual. Maybe it's because of their previous conversation. So as the debris of his meal is cleared,a fresh beer is brought, and his body leans up into the metal bar,and a claw taps the glass.
Leonard returns Vixen's grin and shrugs. "Not exactly an original hobby, but much better than work." Flare's arrival at the bar is noted as a marked increase in read at the corners of his vision. After glancing her way and confirming her presence, his grin returns briefly to Vix. "Well, one message recipient is better than none... Hello, Flare. Do you have a moment?"
Vixen nods her head slightly to Leo, moving to his side again casually as he looks to Flare. Though as she does settle there, she look towards Sindri casually. "So what's got your shorts in a bunch?" she asks him. Her tone casual, neither unkind not kind.
Flare cocks her head to the side and waves towards Sindri and then catches Leonard's words and nods, "Sure, what's up?"
Sindri's eyes continue to stare into his beer before he takes another sip. "Things we talked about, they made me realize just how alone I was. Even beyond the mere nature of discussing what we did, Sindri is quite alone..." He murmurs, it is apparently just now sinking in that Sindri can't expect to have friends .
Leonard takes a few steps towards Flare, a brief smile given en route that slims somewhat as he nears. His words lower beyond casual conversational volume. "There's been a slight change in the roster, as it were. Only four of us will be venturing out on our task, including yourself and Bek. If you happen to see her before I do, can you let know? We'll be leaving in a few days, assuming no more sudden alterations."
"Only if you want to be," Vixen states simply, her shoulders given a roll. "MIght take you a little extra effort, but that's how it goes sometimes. Being down on it won't change it. Only doing something about it will make much a difference, you know?" She listens casually to what Leo's saying, but continues to eye the dogboy after her words are offered.
Flare cocks her head to the side, "Shouldn't be a problem, I will look for her, and let my boss know will be out of town for a bit, but they don't mind, nice having a job where only have to show up if want to get paid."
Sindri inclines his head towards Vixen when she speaks, an un necessary gesture, but one he picked over the years. "I try to make a difference by standing up for some one, but it only ended with hurt feelings and misplaced intentions. This is why I live outside of town, so I do not anger people by being confusing." He murmurs.
Vixen shrugs her shoulders slightly. "You break something, fix it." She casually jerks a thumb towards Leo. "He can tell you all about that. We had some issues before, but we fixed 'em. Not by hiding, but by admitting what was fucked up." She looks towards Leo then and gives him a casual grin. She looks back to Sin and asks, "So who'd you piss off?"
Leonard nods as his delivery is taken in stride and his smile rekindles. "Wonderful. I think everything will still go smoothly, regardless, but it can't hurt to be prepared and cautious. Now, I just need to find everyone else. I'm sorry for the meet and run." His smile turns apologetic before the remainder of him rotates to step back towards Vixen. Her thumbing and grin cause him to chuckle as he rests a hand briefly on her shoulder. "I'm very adept at breaking things... but I'd best be going."
Sindri cants his head a bit, but politly smells at Leonard. "Good Bye Mr. Leonard" He says before turning his golden orbs back upon Vixen. "A mage, I do not know her name but she is the caretaker of sorts for the Hill Giant, Meu." he says.
Vixen looks to Leo as he says he's gotta go. "No worries, babe. I'll catch you soon enough." She turns into himm, wrapping her arms about him to give a nice, firm squeeze. "Be good.. until you get home," she murmurs. Drawing back, she lets him go before looking to Sindri. "And what'd you do to annoy her?" Casually pursuing the thread step by step.
Sindri presses his palms into his eyes for a moment, rubbing them slightly. Bad memory of being lifted in the air by magic. "Meu is forced to wear a restraint collar that is potentionally life threatening, some people discussed how we should remove it, but won't. They are afraid to do so, and claim the Police will kill her. I said they were all cowards and unwilling to defend some one's rights. They didn't like this, but I view it as a truth. I have been a slave to a 'free empire' like Meu is now. We should stand up for her rights.." he murmurs.
"Remember that you said that." The retort is given as Leonard returns the squeeze. A smirking tilt of his head dips towards Sindri. "That would be Tirzah, and you might actually have my sympathies..." With those words, and trailing lingering fingers at Vix's hip, he turns to make his way for the exit.
"Meu?" Vix has seen the giantess before, but the name doesn't quite register with her. "I think I need a bit more info on this. But if people like Tirzah are afraid of something, usually there's a reason for it. What's the collar prevent?" She shifts to lean her side casually against the bar, keeping her eyes on the canine.
Sindri lightly cants his head at the questions laid before him. "I understand that it kicks in when she becomes angered, and releases voltage enough to render her unconscious. The City Police require her to wear the object at all times, or be shot." He murmurs.
"Must be a reason for it, then." Vixen replies. "You don't just put that on someone unless you've got reason to stop them from doing.. whatever." She shrugs her shoulders slightly. "What's this Meu do anyway? What's so dangerous about her?" She frowns as she ass this, a little filament of memory starting to take hold.
Sindri's right paw moves to tap the bar. "She could rip apart Power Armor. She is a Giant, a creature that is innately infused with powers of the Leylines to my knowledge. She has a child's mind, and is prone to the same tantrum throwing..but has a body that can tear robots in half with bare hands. Yet on the flipside, they allow a Killcat to exist here with no restrictions, and no one is even sure what I am yet. I could be a Killhound, and some speculate as such." He murmurs.
Vixen frowns faintly. "Oh, that one." She shakes her head. "Look, man, freedom is good and all, but you gotta have the mind to use that freedom. Kids got parents.. and if that thing has the mind of a kid, she needs a 'parent' to control her. Ain't no one around here strong enough for that volunteering, so the next best thing is something that makes sure she won't hurt people." She shrugs her shoulders a little, glancing to the side.
Sindri lightly cants his head a bit. "I can Pick her up. I have done so as punishment for her trying to squeeze me. Does a child desire to be killed? No one knows what the limits of that collar is, some one even suggested it was rigged to explode if she got mad, or it was activated. Is it right?" he asks, looking at Vixen. "If people would help, we could teach Meu, she has never tried to hurt any one, she just yells alot.."
"How about this.. who put the collar on her? Cause I doubt she put it on herself, so someone put it on.. and might have claim to her." Vixen eyes Sindri. "Maybe you ought to find out who put it on her and take the argument to them. Hell, it might be rigged to go off if you try and remove it. Personally, I don't think you got info enough to even start trying to make a decision on that." Her brows lift slightly. "Me, I got a full plate of needs. Families that got no one to help them that could get suck and die. We all got our priorities."
Sindri lightly twitches his tail in thought before responding. "The City did." He says again, having overheard this. "Kingsdale said if Meu was allowed to keep living, she'd need to wear it. Then they said she was a Free entity. I do not think that is true." He says, not sure if the city entirely intended her collar to be a device to keep others safe, as much as use her if they needed to. "These Families, they need help? I will bring food for you, or you come pick up food." He says with a nod.
"Take it to the refugees at the gates. I'm sure you've seen their camp. Tell them Vixen sent you," she replies. She then pauses, consider a moment before she adds, "If the collar doesn't force her to do anything but not smash stuff, it doesn't stop her from freely doing whatever. You want to be sure, take her to Cali's garage, have Caliopa eyeball it. She's a tech wiz, so she'll be able to tell what it is." Sindri rubs the back of his neck and nods a bit. "I think..Tirzah understands what it is, but I am afraid it is little I can do. Meu will not leave the city to live in the wild, nor would any let her. Many think I have a death wish!" He laughs.
"Leave things as they are," Vixen suggests. "Nothing is perfect, so you have to find what's second best." She smirks a little and straightens. "Like I said, if you want to really know, you talk to Cali. She'll figure it out. Me, I'm going to go get relaxed and read a little. But remember, you go to the refugees, you make sure you tell 'em I pointed you their way. Every little bit helps." She starts to slowly move away from teh bar then.
Sindri watches Vixen till she's gone and then cuts loose with a whistle howl. He decides one last parting shot must be taken. "I will Ms. Bombshell!" He says, though she can imagine his eyes are staring at her bottom. Maybe she made him feel better!
