Kingsdale - The Alibi
Free of strange weather or stranger pedestrians, Leonard makes his way to the bar. After awaiting his turn, a glass of wine is requested and arrives, taken in hand as he moves towards a booth. His hood is doffed en route, and his damp cloak brushed aside before he takes a grateful seat.
Several minutes after Leonard, Celaeno makes her way into the Alibi - apparently not having run into the group outside. Shaking off her coat and her hair, she checks her weaponry at the front before dancing her way to the bar and ordering herself a series of drinks. Once said drinks are delivered, she will spin in her seat, peering around the club idly - looking for anything of interest.
'Something of interest' is a tough thing to define, but Rebekkah comes into the place just a few paces behind Celaeno with her camouflaged rain poncho held around her head and shoulders like some post-apocalyptic Little Red Riding Hood. Except in her case it's more like a Little Urban Camouflaged Walking Hood. Dangling from her lobes, a pair of clear acrylic earrings flash and strobe from a pink core of light, instantly picking up the beat of the music when she comes inside and keeping the rhythm. She rolls her pistol and her saber up in the poncho and stuffs them into one of the lockups, takes the key and shadows Celaeno quite by accident towards the bar.
Sindri is entering with Kesslan, taking all the little jabs at him in good humor. Or he plain doesn't understand the bulk of what Kesslan says to him, but a few moments are spent inside, shaking his tail and headfur out, water splattering about as he shakes and wriggles his body. "A shame I took this job today, now I can't truly enjoy a whiskey.." he murmurs.
Kesslan offers a reasuring pat on Sindri's back. "Work you shall later, today not in truth." he says softly "Still some arrangement Kesslan must make so that other staff know of Sindri. So too that Desmond and Aimee know of Kesslan decision yes? Accept it they will for trust in Kesslan do they both as Kesslan trust in them. Of course to a point he realizes Aimee may throw abit of a fit at him not at least checking with them first, but then he's never lead them astray either and she knows just why he makes the choices he does.
Leonard, unfortunately, isn't terribly intersting to many. At least not those who don't know him. A sleek pocket comp is slipped free with a dried hand and set upon the table, the other helping him enjoy a sip from his glass. An amalgam of leisure and business, perhaps, since he is neither on a rapid race for inebriation nor bouncing about on the dancefloor. The latter does get a brief glance, however, before his attention returns to the tabletop and items thereupon.
Sindri moves to roll the holster and belt of his sidearm up around it, and put it into a weapon's lockup, taking the key and carefully stowing it. Maybe he's testing Kesslan, but the vibroclaws aren't being removed. Perhaps it's because he's wearing a badge marking him as club security. "Care for a drink then Kesslan?" He asks, getting ready to drift out into the club.
Sipping at her first drink as she peers, Celaeno's gaze settles momentarily on Leonard before skipping off to the rest of the room. After a few moments, however, the gaze returns, with a series of quiet "hms." Despite it all, she kicks out her stool somewhat, taking a drink in each hand as she walks over brusquely, "You go by 'Leonard?'" she asks, elbowing her way against the bar and putting down one drink. "I've been considering looking for you, but if you're him, and he's here, then this works."
Emanating self-assuredness and confidence, Celaeno tends to be rather brash and loud. Her almond shaped eyes are sharp and bright - royal blue, with a golden, jagged circle that splits the iris into two concentric circles - and are emphasized by her black eyeliner and olive complexion. Standing five foot ten inches, she has a lithe and somewhat wiry frame that tends to swing and glide as she moves, smoothing out any motion's jerkiness. Her face is framed by straight brown hair that falls to the middle of her back, with two shorter strands pulled forward on either side of her face.
Rebekkah glides into the space left by Celaeno, bumps her hip up against the bar and drops down onto her elbows on the counter. She gets a drink for herself, something dark and bubbly in a glass with ice, but it's apparent from the slight sway to her movements and the deliberate care put into her speech that it's not the first drink of the night.
Kesslan seems to either not notice, which is unlikely given how obvious it is, or not care that Sindri is now 'sneaking in' the vibro claws. With that being taken into consideration by the rest of the security team, the guards figguring that if Kesslan is not about to call him on it, they wont either. Kesslan of course, as usual enters with all weapons still plainly visible. But by now he's rather well known for one reason or another at least by any of the regulars and staff, even if it's only in spotting him in passing. "Kesslan drink does not of such things normal." he explains "Does not.. " he frowns as he tries to think of the word "Make Kesslan sick sometime does.. this not quite proper thing to say but not certain how say. Think Kesslan that this because of something in most such thing that is not good for Pantheran."
Leonard glances up at the sudden arrival of another glass, and the blunt question by its former possessor. "Among a few other titles, yes." A tentative smile is offered to Celaeno, mitigated by the curious and uncertain lifting of a brow above. "Why might you be looking for me, or considering doing so?"
Sindri walks beside Kesslan, glad to have his armor intact, and the infamous Vibro Claws attached. "You mean if you drink to much, you throw up, and feel awful the next day." If Kesslan's path takes him away from the bar, then he must do so with out Sindri. Sindri him self is making for the bar, body moving to touch it and waits patiently for the bartender to come. He is amused by Kesslan to say the last, but he isn't going to follow him off to bother him either.
Celaeno sips at the glass she glass she has in her hand, leaving the other to rest on the counter for the moment as she sizes up the man in front of her. "Well, I was referred to you about a likely suicidal job, and I figured that it might be worth looking into, even if I wound up, you know..." she says, waving her hand vaguely for a moment. "Telling you all to go jump into a river."
Vargus slips, or slides in from the soggy street, flapping his overcoat a few times to shake the excess water off of him. He moves over to the locker-drum and slips a large, blocky pistol from his thigh holster and drops it in the box. Pocketing the key, the turns to the room and blinks his eyes a few times at the lack of light and the proponderance of smoke. A moment or two of recon and he makes his way through the tables and takes a seat at the bar. He flags down the bartender and places an order... at which point he gets a strange look from the man, but, receives a clear bubbly liquid at his apparent general distaste.
Kesslan shakes his head at Sindri as he follows along for the time being, if nothing else his rounds normally take him past the bar anyway as that's one of the spots to generally expect the most drunks and thus trouble. "No. Is not this. Some things Kesslan drink ok is but some other humans make not... good is for Kesslan. Sick make feel not quite proper word but is close. Is not of how much of that Kesslan drink. Kesslan find this similar with when eat other foods of other beings yes? Just as eating food of Sirev would make sick others of this place, or even kill."
Rebekkah takes a gulp of her drink, frowns into it and then takes a second and even bigger gulp immediately after and sets the glass down. It stays on the bar, she turns on her stool and leans back, propping herself up on her elbows while she watches the floor. A curious smile drifts into her lips, meshing and mingling with the half-lidded stare she sweeps around from person to person and light to light.
Sindri places an order when a chance is given for a dark stout, to be served warm. His golden orbs flicker over Rebekkah's body, but return to Kesslan. "A shame, but perhaps some day you can try to understand why and correct this problem..brew our Earthly liquors for others of your race." He says, helpfully, a few credits being laid upon the bar as his bulky armor leans against it, paw moving for his beer when it arrives, and taking a long sip of it. Likely, he gets a few peculiar glances for ordering a warm beer.
Her explanation draws a chuckle from Leonard. "Nothing suicidal, I'm afraid. I have every intention of ensuring such, in fact. Difficult to attempt future ventures, much less spend the credits, otherwise." He motions to the bench across the table with his wineglass. "You're welcome to have a seat, presuming that you're still interested."
Celaeno eyes the seat for a few moments, more than nursing her drink before swapping it out with the one on the bar. "I think I'll stand, for the moment. I'm sure you've got all the eventualities worked out. Everybody always seems to think they do," she says before spinning around briefly, peering over at her previous seat, frowning a moment. "In any case, tell me what you'd like. We'll see, we'll see."
Rebekkah tips her head to the side, her flashing pink earrings bouncing off her cheeks and skipping for an instant on the music's rhythm from the impact. Behind a few irregular blinks she focuses her eyes on Leonard further down the way and draws her brows together in concentration while she stares. It takes a little while for her to take action from there but she does, pushing herself up from her stool and moving towards he and Celaeno with great care taken to not ram her hip into the backs of the chairs she passes along the way.
"Kesslan warrior is, not one to make drink. Sindri remind Kesslan of Hex. Hex was like Sindri too, tender of bar though. Supervisor here for time." He muses looking towards the bar and the present waitstaff "But such is not thing for Kesslan. Kesslan have too much other more important thing do must. Kesslan still try save people if can this do. Not know how home go but Pantheran find Kesslan again before once, hope then can again do. If so Kesslan have much to send to Seriv to help with fight."
Vargus' eyes flip back and forth between a few conversations around him. He blinks and shakes his head. "...it's like a cross-section of random realities all intruding on each other." He chuckles to himself and picks up his drink, sitting back in his stool. Feet begin to tap in time to the droning beat that fills the club and reverberates off of pretty much everything.
Sindri moves aside when another moves along the bar, but his ears hear Vargus' familiar voice. "Well, thats more an accurate view of the Earth we live on, though oddly, this town resides upon two Ley Lines.." he murmurs, musing this thought before looking back towards Kesslan. "Have you ever considered going back home if you had a chance?" He asks.
Leonard shakes his head, lips pursing. "No, I don't expect to have every possible contingency worked out. Just enough to feel prepared." Most of his conversation is likely lost to the music after more than a few armlengths, as it's not exactly something that one shouts across the room. "A very brief venture with a generous financier who is providing transport in, out, and decent intelligence concerning the task at hand. All this in addition to twenty thousand to each particpant. That is the standing offer."
Celaeno nods, seemingly disinterested in the information, "Old hat!" she exclaims, laughing. "I talked with him first. He's the one who pointed me to you. I keep my ear to the ground, but not so far as to have every job filter down to me with a decent description. But, I guess if the information's actually good, and you're not going to be bringing a platoon of SAMAS down on your head... it might be alright. But what're the steps you're taking, hmm? You know, to keep 'em from plugging you good."
Kesslan seems a touch pained at that suggestion "To Sirev Kesslan would for time return yes..." he says softly but there's far mroe there than he's intially getting into. The radioactive feline figiting a little before explaining at least part of his dillema "Atorian control most if not all Sirev. So too is there no home for Kesslan return to when Kesslan leave did and arrive on this place. Of those that come, Kesslan is only left. Of those home? Kesslan does know not."
Vargus's ear quirks a bit as a distinctive bit of conversation reaches him from his be-stooled postion. He picks up his drink and slips off of his perch and casually makes a be-line for Leonard and Celaeno. He lurks for a moment and waits for a break to slip in, "....certain bits of conversation really seem to carry. You putting a team together? Still looking for personel?"
Rebekkah sashays right up to Leonard's table and drops down onto the seat beside him, either not noticing that he's in the middle of talking with Celaeno or just choosing to overlook that detail. "Heyyy, Lamb-ard," she greets him, swatting him gently on the shoulder a couple of times and then drawing her hand back with an expression of uncertainty. It takes her a couple of heartbeats to decide if she actually wanted to do that or not, but either way it's too late now. "Listen, I'm sorry about going thermonuclear like that the other night? It just... well, you know. You know?"
Sindri's ability to hear the conversation isn't coming into play here. Celaeno mentioned the job, but unless she tried to hook him in, he wasn't going to get involved. Besides, Kesslan needs a friend right now, and Sindri is volunteering by default. "At least you have their memories, and I'd go with you, there isn't any thing like a good fight to keep your nature apparent.." He says, grinning toothily at Kesslan.
"Truth in this yes, but Kesslan does not understand what great spirits demand of Kesslan. Kesslan does not walk the path of one who chooses, but one who's path chosen has been by others. In truth Kesslan has not lost all to such a thing, there is joy to be found too in time with Aimee and Desmond." he muses "But so too cost is there that Kesslan wish there not had been. Honor now require of Kesslan to Coalition clan fight. Such is thing Kesslan wish avoid but possible is not. Kesslan know Coalition is honourable not, and so Kesslan to war again must go, for one of Kesslan paw may alive still be in their hold." he frowns "Kesslan need find how this do first."
And then there were... four? Leonard first chuckles at Celaeno's revelation. "Well, there are still last-minute plans to be... Evening, Vargus." He manages to greet the familiar man, at least, before Bek decides to join him at table, seat, and then shoulder. Surprised, yes, but her apology, in whatever form, rekindles his smile. "It's quite alright, Bek. I think that I should have postponed the gathering a bit longer. The good news is that I'm now prepared for a more informative meet."
And suddenly it's a crush of people, whom Celaeno eyes somewhat suspiciously as she finishes off the drink-in-hand. Picking up the other while sliding the empty glass a little farther than perhaps was necessary, she glides to the other side of Leonard, away from the two newcomers. "And I mean, when word gets out, word gets out," she says, giving a rather 'case-in-point' look to the two people who just popped up - from her point of view - out of the blue. "And when word gets about that you're going to be bumping heads with Skulls, well they can get a bit uppity."
Sindri's right hand rests on the bar, his left hand holding the pint to his muzzle, taking another sip as Kesslan speaks, doing his best to follow the DBee and his speeches. "The Coalition is easy to fight, if one knows what to do. Quite fortunate for you is it then, that I am here. You can never expect to take the Coalition head on, they are a force much to dangerous. But, if one can continue to harass their flank, and convince them a region is not worth while..well. The Coalition views every thing as a matter of resource expenditures. This is how I managed to escape and survive. I eluded them long enough, that even I, an experimental subject, survived." He murmurs, lightly nodding his head.
Flare slips into the Alibi. Her skin is rather flushed, and eyes bright. One close enough might show her to be breathing a bit heavy. She glances around a little for a moment and then the crimson-haired elf is moving more into the place, adjusting her corset a little as she walks.
"That's good!" Bek crows at Leonard's news and her own smile is rekindled as well. "Are you ready to take charge, grab the reins and keep a tight leash? Gotta have someone in charge." She bobs her head, looking pleased, glittering, strobing earrings bouncing wildly as she looks up at Celaeno. "Heyyy," she continues to the new target, shifting from Leonard to her smoothly and with almost no perceptible pause. "Are you a wolf too? You wanna be my wolf buddy?" Her smile tilts into a goofy grin and she touches the tip of her finger to the tip of her nose.
Vargus nods his head to Celaeno, then bows it. "That's a definate.. word gets around, and you have to track it back to the source to see if it has merit. The number of people milling about Leonard there I think is pretty clear that the rumor tracks positive. Not a whole lot of information floating around out there, though, so, have to do the legwork. Or.. at least, be in a convienient place to evesdrop in a bar." He smirks and shrugs his shoulders.
Ema emerges from the dance floor, a bit red and sweating lightly from her efforts. Her face is all smiles as she weaves herself through the crowded bar, heading to the bar where summons a bartender with a wave and a smile, ordering a final drink before closing out her tab. It arrives, and she pays, taking a moment to dab at her head and neck with a napkin before making her way closer to the door, noting a few familar faces which she waves too, unsure if she's seen.
Kesslan shakes his head at Sindri "Sindri plan work would on patrol or other thing, but not place Kesslan found has. Find way to attack direct must do, and do so quickly before other come can." the D-bee's blank white eyed gaze sweeping the club slowly as he sizes up some of the other patrons as potential people to appraoch for such a venture. "More dangerous this then be will, but so too Kesslan plan find spirit blessed. Those who can use thing those of world this call Magic. Kesslan world this thing there too is. KNow Kesslan how much help against those such as Coalition can for see how can against Atorian use be. Atorian much harder fight than Coalition."
Flare cocks her head to the side and glances around. She sees a few familiar faces and gives Leonard, Bek, and Emayn all waves, as well at Cel. She seems to be trying to decide if she is heading towards the bar first or to go to say hi. She actually heads towards the people first, "Hello," she says and smiles a bit, her skin still flushed, almost like she was high on something, or just ran a marathon.
Sindri laughs softly, Kesslan's belief in magic being useful does amuse him. "So Kesslan, you think Magic can make the Coalition weaker, or useful. You are incorrect. You are better off dragging a group of vampires or the undead with in a day or two of the base. The Coalition will respond, leaving the base understaffed and defended for a day or two. You hit the Communications of the base, move in, subdue and then slaughter base personnel. Then you wait for the Coalition forces to retreat from battle for resupply. They come in, likely almost out of munitions, or injured. Kill them, make off with the cream of the crop. Any survivors retreat to the base with the undead following.. The Coalition will lose a base, and have to divert power armor troopers to deal with the threat." He says, tapping his head, next to his ear. "You see Kesslan, my idea is much better."
Leonard nods to Bek's question, smile curling towards a smirk. "Yes, I am." It is then turned to Celaeno across the table. "There's little love for them here, I expect. I presume that you are interested as well, Vargus? There are no personnel limitations, yet, although it might get a bit crowded in my apartment for the briefing, as it were. You're certainly welcome to join."
Celaeno eyes Rebekkah with a certain amount of amusement as the questions are levied. "I'm nothing more than a harmless young lady, trying to figure something out, I'm afraid, though if you'd like to be buddies, well, so long's you're fun, then there's nothing to worry about," she says with a grin that goes from ear to ear. "And as for love of the Coalition, there may not be a whole lot of love around here, you're right. But it only really takes one person with an itch to set things off. But it may well be worth my time to see where this goes, in any case."
"Idea of Sindri is too also just dream. Kesslan does not know one who vampire can control, does not know one who undead control. So too would Kesslan like kill one such as this." he says his ears flattening back a little "Dishnor to dead such a thing is. Such thing is only thing use should if no choice other is there. Many more choice is there so this is not thing done will be." there's a slight pause however as those feline cogs of thought turn "But need perhaps not have undead to real be. Make think force such threat real is then respond would some. Draw some force away from base. Work for short while could." he admits.
Rebekkah tips her finger off from her nose and levels her hand like a pistol at Celaeno, then fires off a shot with a crook of her thumb. "Aces," she accepts the... challenge? Promise? Enthusiasm in the accepting, whatever it was. "And yeah, no more apartment meetings, right? Neutral ground works best. Okay, time to boing-go!" She jets up from off the seat next to Leonard and extracts herself from the knot of job-seekers. There's a glass at the bar with her name on it and... well, there -was- a glass. Efficiency in bartending is certainly something the girl can appreciate, but the loss of her drink finds her shuffling back into her place at the bar with a tiny, pouty frown.
Sindri laughs softly at Kesslan and shakes his head. "The Coalition doesn't fight with honor or fairness, nor should we. But you understand part of the plan, deception, allow us to rob the Coalition and cause chaos with out facing a main assault force." He says, bobbing his head before taking another long sip. Then the Wolf's tail begins to wag happily, war. War never changes, just the contestants.
Vargus nods his head to Leonard, "That I am..." his eyes shift to the side to Rebekkah, looking the woman over, and then back to Leonard. "Could probably find a room somewhere around to rent out, or something." he leans up, as he's still standing, and his eyebrows quirk up, then he raises his glass toward the back corner of the club. "There's a meeting room back there. As big as this building is, probably has enough room to drop an air-lifter into." He turns back to Rebekkah and motions to Celaeno, "Don't be fooled by that one... she lives under rocks in the park." The latter lost as 'bek explodes from her seat and launches across the room. He looks back to Leonard. "Wow... harness her and there wouldn't be power problems anywhere on the planet."
Ema approaches the group of familiar faces, her own scrunching momentarily as she looks around. A flash of something wild and feral in her eyes, as she sips from her drink, surveying those around her slowly as she moves around the club. She looks incredibly distracted, almost upset. Her drink is finished on the quick as she sets it down on a table she passes, heading a bit further where she stops and turns. She continues, triangulating, her eyes following the lines she's marked in her mind, leading to Celaeno. She stays a bit out and watches a moment longer, and seems to decide to let her acquaintances be before heading towards the coat check, where she slowly begins the lengthy process of re-arming herself before walking home.
Flare seems just a little put out for a moment, but then it is a little loud. She follows after Rebekkah, figuring maybe she can get noticed if she is a bit louder. "Hey there." she says and tries to get the other woman's attention. She brushes a stray lock of crimson hair from her face as well.
"That Coalition clan fight not with Honour mean not that Kesslan fight without. Always try must to remain honourable, for is at time all left have one. Truth however in that sometime Honourable way is not way work will. But means not that one need abandon all such thing. If one does not keep word then one is not worth keeping word to. Is not worthy of spirit of ancestors." the feline counters "So too would disnour all Kesslan stand for, make no better than one who against fight."
Sindri's grin is turning feral, Heckles raising in primal thoughts. "You go for the weak ones, those already injured Kesslan. Rip their throats out and feast on their soft weak guts. You entangle their power armor up in MDC Meshes..and then carve out the pilots, throwing them to the waiting predators in the night. Hamstring them, cut their tendons out of their arms. Throw a working radio on the other side of a clearing. Make sure things come to find them. See if they bleed out, reach the radio, or get torn apart..." His right paw is digging into the bar, slightly into the surface and his beer is forgotten, placed back down. "Honor and war never go together Kesslan." He almost growls out.
Rebekkah flips her ponytail off her shoulder with a dash of her hand and a toss of her head once she's reasserted control over her sector of the the bar. "Hey, skinny guy with bad piercings!" she calls at the bartender with some irritation, somehow missing that he's neither skinny nor pierced. "You took my cola, can I get another? Please?" Her hand flaps fitfully at the empty space on the counter in front of her, a condensation ring the only evidence that the missing drink ever existed. Flare's approach gets her attention and she looks up at the elf with a little smile. "Hiya chica-flambe. What are you doing out here? Did you see Lamb-ard? He's over there being all Mister Big."
"Always place there is in war for Honour Sindri. Honour to the worthy fallen, Honour to one's ancestors, Honour to those fight with you, Honour to worthy foe." He says entirely unconvinced by Sindri's claim, and yet he also oddly brooks little to no issue with Sindri's description of revenge "But not all who fight honourable is truth. So too some deserve suffer to for suffer cause. But not all for this is such. Sindri belive in Coalition not, so too is true of other who try leave Coalition. Not all escape can, must mindful of this be. But times there are when mercy there can be not but for death quick."
Leonard blinks as Bek launches and flies off, shaking his head amusedly before looking to Vargus. "I'm guessing that you've not met Maya. At any rate... I've everything already set up at home, and there will be room enough for it. Not to mention a bit more secure than something neutral. There may be little chance of Coalition support here, but I'd rather not take the chance. Tomorrow evening, seven sharp." His glance shifts to Celaeno. "The Golden Carafe. Then I can share everything with everyone, once, and we can go from there. Barring the absurd, we should be able to leave in a few days and be out, back, and done within hours, a day at most." He could haggle availability of all involved yet again, but opts to simply make an ultimatum.
As the chaos of the club bounds around her, with people jumping around from place to place, Celaeno just grins at being shot, giving a general nod to the retreating Rebekkah with a call of, "Jacks!" as she goes. "And my sleeping habits aren't any concern of any of these people here," she says, giving Vargus a smile filled with innocence - the drama with Emayn going completely unnoticed. "Well, I'll meander over, I imagine," she says with a smile. "The name's Cel. See you lot around, maybe" she finishes, pushing off from the table and finishing off her drink before making for the exit with a single emphasized wave.
Sindri snorts softly at the mention of ancestors. "You forget, I've no concept of ancestors. Nor family to defend..indeed. Unlike many, my reason to fight is because I can. I do not view war and killing with the same eyes as you do.." He says, blood cooling, heckles lowering, fur smoothing back out, and his beer being consumed in short order. "Before you decide to take on the Coalition, you'll want to secure a vehicle to move materials out of their base, through wooded terrain, and not to mention, move the injured.." She murmurs.
Flare smiles at Bek and shrugs a bit, "Well I was just out and about, just finished a couple sets at my new job and was a bit worked up, thought I would see what was up before wandering back to my place all alone." she says and then chuckles.
"Interested in materials Kesslan is not." He says quite simply to the idea of looting the base, and yet... he seems relatively given into the idea none the less as he quickly follows it up with "However, Kesslan afford to pay other alone for such a thing can not. Truth then that such thing necessary would for to pay other. Kesslan not proper contact for such thing have..." a brief pause "But know one who does."
Vargus shifts his lips to one side in an off expression and shrugs at Leonard. "Woah... sorry about scaring all of the women off." He smirks to the other. "Seven tomorrow... got it. And I have a pretty good feeling that there wouldn't be any Skull-suckups in here. Desmond's always struck me as a good judge of character, and he'd have his back rooms screened of posers and slops."
Rebekkah's eyes light up and she beams a happy smile at Flare's answer. "You got a job! Where did...?" She starts to ask, but even as she does her mind is already running down the list of places nearby and she comes upon her answer before she gets halfway through the question. "Oh no -way-," she breathes, caught on the cusp of a laugh. "Really? Diamond-tipped truth?"
Sindri's body leans heavily onto the bar, water mostly dried up. "I'll go, just being able to lay my paws on some Eclips and a generator to recharge them is worth while. Calculate in getting access to armor patches and the like.." he murmurs softly. "Like I said, you just need some thing to transport us about. I am not running from Coalition Deadheads through Dino territory." He firmly snaps.
Kesslan considers Sindri's mention of Dino territory for a few "May have to for brief time. Place Kesslan need go to is in place human once call Texax on border of zone Coalition clan call Lone Star State. Small place but guarded is. Kesslan however plan speak with some spirit gifted who portal can open, may need not run but quickly escape could if all well is to go."
Sindri's body tenses, apparently, he knows of this place. "I know where that is. I was created there." He says, not to mention the idea of spirits doesn't make him feel better. "I don't do the Mojo bit...I'll walk if it came to that." He says, warily.
Flare nods and smiles a bit, "Yep, am a dancer at the Ivory Lady now. Though left it open so if I need to take some time off or something for another job I can, but while in town should be dancing there most nights, at least a few sets."
Leonard watches Cel head out, then offers a wry smirk to Vargus. "I have faith in Desmond, but I'd rather not alter locations at the last minute. Given that my far better half has spent much time on my behalf in setting up, my apologies to her might delay us for weeks.
Vargus eyes Leonard and shrugs his shoulders melodramatically. He starts to take a sip of his drink and stops. His eyes slowly rotate toward the door, and then back to Leonard. "Hummm... is Cel going on the thing? You know that may pose a bit of a problem for some of us, yes?"
"Potentially, yes..." Leonard arches a brow at Vargus' statement. "I did not. As she just now mentioned her interest, and with everyone else arriving, we didn't discuss her particular talents or lacks..." Apparently, that is a very large 'Huh?'
"Yeah, it's a good, flexible kind of deal," Bek affirms for Flare with a couple nods of her head. Then she laughs at herself and clarifies, "The scheduling, you know? Like, you just go in when you need cred and whatever." She realizes her drink still isn't in front of her and she looks away, finding the bartender with her glare. "I hate this place," she continues, bouncing off thoughts like a rubber ball. "Did you see Lamb-ard over there? Did I already ask you that? He's cooking something up, should get the latest update. I'm done here, though."
Flare nods, "I saw him over there but was at his place the other night, figure I will catch him later. You really should come see me dance sometime, I know I would really like for you to." she says as she looks at Bek, and then glances around a little and back.
The pantheran's ears perk a little, he'd intended long by now to have started his patrol of the grounds, but some days other matters come first for him, especially when there are others to do the job for him, and if he did not trust them to do their jobs, they would not be working here. "Worry too much you do perhaps of such things, several trips through such spirit doors has Kesslan taken, and still alive is. So long as the one who opens knows the way, worry need you not of reaching where need you go quickly or safe."
Sindri lightly gestures a paw at Kesslan, signifying the following words are meant about him. "Also crazy enough to want to wage War on the Coalition. I'm not going through any portals. That is that. Not happening." He says, slapping the bar to make a point.
Vargus quirks an eyebrow at Leonard. "You mean... you didn't pick up on her? Oh... had you only met her here? She's a null, man.. I think maybe more anti-psi, then anti-magic.. just get a funky feeling from her when she's around, I haven't actually tested her whatever-it-is, yet."
Rebekkah meets Flare's eyes when the elf looks back at her with a tight, pained grimace on her face. "Oh, yeah. I'll come in and see you, give you some support and everything? But..." She draws in a whistling breath through clenched teeth and shifts her eyes down and to the side. "I hope I didn't give you the wrong idea or something? It's not, I mean... I'm just looking to make -friends-, you know? Nothing squishy-icky."
Flare blinks a bit, "Um, no you didn't." she stutters just a little. There is something that crosses her face for a moment but she really quickly hides whatever it was. She smiles, "Just as a friend." she says, "Well I should be getting some sleep, got to work out some things with stage manager for my act early tomorrow, don't want to burn my place of work down during my first week." she smiles weakly, and dips her head, "YOu have a good night." and with that, the crimson-haired elf turns like she is going to head for the door.
Leonard blinks, then his eyes widen. After these follows a mild groan and a rubbing at the bridge of his nose. "Yes, that could pose any number of problems. I'll speak with her, seperately if need be." A long swallow of his wine is taken. "Thank you for that bit of information, though.
Kesslan shrugs a little at Sindri's persistance on the matter of going through Rifts. "Then Kesslan find other way perhaps for Sindri, will explain to other Sindri too affraid was!" he teases a little. "But for now this thing not will be just yet. More information Kesslan first need. Time too to find other to go. Think have now enough for such a task, but sure must be first."
Rebekkah waits taut as a bowstring and tense like a trigger finger for Flare's reaction, and she breathes out a soft sigh through pursed lips and leans heavily against the bar when she doesn't immediately burst into her own funeral pyre. "Okay, icy-ice. See you soon, Flare!" Her bouncy cheer is dulled by the awkwardness of the moment, and as soon as the elf's back is turned she turns her eyes to the floor and gnaws fretfully on her lower lip.
Sindri is moving quietly as Kesslan teases him, but still conversing. "Hey Baby, stop looking so sad." He says suddenly to Rebecca, voice teasing, but he responds to Kesslan softly after his poor attempt at flirting, body now resting between Kesslan and Rebecca. "You can attempt to find more information, but your best bet would be to try and crack a Coalition communications relay..good luck, God Speed on that." He laughs.
Flare starts towards the door. She does seem to be almost glowing a bit as she does and a few people back away. It almost looks like she is actually burning as in on fire as she makes her way outside, the door closing behind her.
Vargus nods his head. "I'm sure you would have found out about it eventually. And it managed, she could be a pretty big asset. We just have to have enough space between us, so we can still work out mojo. Maybe we could do some testing and see if she can protect people around her." His eyebrows quirk up and he laughs. "Damn... she could shield a group that runs into the middle of a patrol, and then we rain fire down from afar and our peeps stay covered."
Rebekkah just puts a hand up and lets Sindri talk to that. "'Oi, forget about that drink there, hyperion!" she calls down to the bartender, who is most certainly not a juicer of any variety. She shifts herself back away from the dog boy before something unpleasant happens, like he starts wagging his tail, and then decides to just keep moving towards the door. Slowly, of course, not wanting to get out too fast and catch Flare either. It's a razor's edge, caught where she is, but she pulls it off somehow. "Really, -really- don't like this place," she mutters to herself as she ascends.
Kesslan earperks slightly at Rebekkah's comment of not liking the place "Querry this one has for you then." the feline's blank gaze fixing uppon the reatreaing Rebekkah "Why not like this place? Problem is there with this place?" He sounds a little confused, not entirely understanding what all there is to dislike about it.
Sindri's lips lift into the look of dislike. "Feck on!" he calls out after Rebecca's form. "I think she left because a Dogboy just made a flirtatious gesture towards her, or it's the armor." He remarks.
"She could be quite useful, yes." Leonard nods, considering Vargus' fairly specific example. "The rest of us have already gathered once, to learn of each others' capabilities, if not much else. Since I've already a fairly good idea of your talents, I'll try and speak with her before tomorrow, to expedite matters. I don't know how long our intelligence will hold true, and the sooner we can get this done, the better."
Kesslan considers Sindri's explanation of the situation and decides he can not fault that line of logic "Is truth that not all other species find such thing good. Many not wish with other species be, or see other species with other not alike." he muses "Some not like see Aimee with Desmond and Kesslan." he shrugs a little "Desperate think Kesslan that Sindri is for companion?"
Sindri laughs loudly and shakes his head. "I am a lonely mutant, my entire body yearns for companionship, but I have not had any in years. Even amoungst my time in the Coalition, it was rare I was near other Dogboys. They were afraid I'd get into fights with them, cause severe problems. I was often stuck with humans, who whilst apprecative of me, are not pack brothers. So I am alone, with only reminders of my origins about me. The disdain, the hatred. Even other Mutants and DBees dislike me for my origins.." He murmurs outloud.
Vargus nods his head to Leonard and downs the rest of his drink and seems to be collecting himself. "I think I gave you my contact info already, yeah? But, I'm just down the hall from you at the Caraffe. Feel free to beat on my door if you need anything, or if you've got a meeting brewing. I need to get moving for now..." he gives Leonard a wave and heads for the exit, picking up his sidearm on the way out.
"Perhaps then look you in wrong place in haste to find what look for." Kesslan suggests "Time give it to think on these thing if such is what Sindri want. Jump at every minor chance is not way proper to go about such thing. Find one wish you true be with and see. Find you in time no doubt one who like Sindri will for who Sindri is.." he trails off before shruging and adding "Or who not care does. Ivory lady place such as this may try you."
