Bright and early on Monday morning, Vixen is casually moving about the Stake and Mallet, observing the various tools of the trade and toys that are laid out for the prospective vampire hunter. Currently, she's standing in front of a rack that is lined up with a variety of silver knives, from short to long and ornate to simple and functional. A modestly sized and ornate one in hand, casually being turned this way and that as she considers it. Two others are in early as well, chatting up the proprietor as she does her quiet shopping.

Between recent revelations and a broadcast about the same, preparedness is the order of the day. Leonard is mildly surprised that the establishment is not filled to the brim, or closed due to lack of inventory. As he steps inside, the videographer is noted, causing a detour behind her. The proprietor is currently occupied with other customers at the present, anyhow. "Find something you like?"

Vixen turns her head slightly when Leo talks, then gives her shoulders a casual roll before the knife gets put away. "Just seeing what there is. Thinking of a custom order, but I dunno.. maybe not. Getting a whip fitted with silver blades seems a little exotic, don't you think?" She turns around, grinning idly at Leo. "Maybe I should just get someone to teach me how to poke things right with a knife?"

Leonard tilts his head and puts fingers to chin as he makes a length display of studying her. "Exotic would fit you rather well, of course. I'd offer to help with teaching, but I'd likely grab the wrong end, myself. Out of arm's reach seems much better to me." He holds up a few emptied magazines.

"Don't know much about slug throwers either.. the kick pisses me off," Vixen murmurs, eyeing the mags. "Anyway.. I'm just seeing what's here. Been a while since I've looked and it seems not too much has changed.. at least, when it comes to the basics. But I suppose having a few of Cali's grenades would help. One thing I know is tossing, so I can probably place them pretty good when push comes to shove. You know how to handle handguns?"

"I know point and spray," Leonard chuckles as he tucks the clips back into a pocket for refilling in the near future. "but there is the recoil. My expert advice is to aim at the feet, then open your eyes when it's empty and check if anything is still coming after you. Grenades are a good idea, too."

"Seriously, if you know how to handle those things, I wanna know cause I wanna know how to handle those things right," Vixen notes, giving Leo a little prod t his chest with her fingertip. "I could teach you a thing or two in return.. depending what you're wanting to learn. I got a pretty broad depth of skills. Just not a whole lot when it comes to fighting."

Leonard grins at the prodding and rolls his shoulders. "I'm not much of a warrior, Vix. More often than not, I can hit what I'm aiming at with a laser rifle, but that's about it. Up close and personal with something that wishes to devour me is not my idea of a good thing. Present company excluded, of course."

Vixen frowns for a moment, obviously not pleased with the response. But she gets over it quickly, shaking her head as she turns and walks along to another shelf. Stakes here. Simple to artful. "I don't like long arms. Besides, you can't carry those in the city. POintless learning how to use something you can't keep on you at all times. I want to rely on it 24/7, not just out there."

Leonard mirrors her frown, though does not do so until after she turns and moves to the next display. "Maybe I should start treking to a firing range, then. If I don't lose a foot, I might improve my aim. Still seems more reliable than charging something with a knife."

"Can't always keep 'em off you, Leo," Vixen points out. "I got my little hand cannon for when I gotta shot something. But if something gets in close, I want to be able to give it a reason to back off. Or just generally ruin its day with a few prods." Said as she considers the stakes. "Or to block if someone swings something my way. Easier to deflect than to get out of the way, you know. Not that I got any issues with dodging when it comes down to it." She frowns a little and picks out an intricately carved stake. "Why would someone pay extra for this? Not like it would last all that long."

Leonard now steps over to take a look. "So that whatever you're sticking it into can enjoy the fine craftmanship as it expires? I've NO idea. A broken broom handle would work nearly as well." He shakes his head. "Maybe you should talk to Tirzah, or that giant Juicer, Maxy. They're surely far more talented at killing things than I." A smirk is managed. "I just wiggle my fingers, remember?"

Vixen smirks faintly and puts it away. "I could see a nice looking gun.. that'd last and would look nice matching what you got on, but this kinda thing is too flimsy." She glances towards Leo and smirks faintly. "I'm sure you know how to do something, don't you? Besides the wiggling, that is. Dish, man.. what else do you know?" She turns to move along the side of the store some more. "Maybe we can share some."

"Not much, really." This is admitted with a sigh as Leonard also steps aside out of immediate traffic flow. He even does so somewhat gratefully. "Unless it pertains to holding a conversation with something that stepped out of a rift somewhere, I'm not really you're guy. Even that is unreliable, as nearly a week in a chair proved quite well."

Vixen snorts faintly at that. "Oh, stop it i with the self pity. Not like anyone else came up with anything, did they?" She shakes her head at him and considers some TW flares on the next display. But the price tag makes her frown and she turns away from them, facing Leo with her arms crossed over her chest. "And I'm holding that meet up soon cause you got the info. So don't act like you're failing at anything." Her tone firm on that.

Leonard regains a smirk that gradually softens into a half-smile as he speaks. "Yes, ma'am. I'll try to do better next time. Are we all marching off against the beasts afterwards, then? That does sound better than just waiting around for the next incident."

"Nah.. like I know where to go to fight 'em anyway? That elf and his friends are keeping whatever they're up to locked up tight," Vixen replies, a sour look coming to her. "This is just to get peoples spirits up. Had something like this before.. probably before you came along. A rally that got hit by the undead. This is sort of the same, but it won't be a party. It's going to be a lot of armed and ready people.. just let 'em try and crash that fucking party." Her lips curve into a sly little grin.

"I'd say it's my loss for having missed it." Her grin is not lost on Leonard. "This one, I won't. Whatever Tamiril and the rest are doing, you're right. I've not been able to speak with him, nor have I seen the others in some time. Although... are you sure that getting a mob of armed and ready people all fired up is entirely a good thing?

"Nothing about fired up, just a way to let people know that there are people ready to stand up," Vixen replies, her shoulders rolling as she starts to walk across the shop, headed for another set of shelves and their wares. "I'm not going to pep talk 'em or nothing.. so anyone that gets fired up is gong to do it themselves and I can't control that."

Leonard remains where he is for the moment as he watches her continue to move and browse. "I think you rally people more than you give yourself credit for, even if my opinion is biased. Armed masses just make me a bit nervous, is all, especially when they're looking for a fight. It would be much easier if these things didn't come and go with the fog. They must be coming from somewhere, and even if we can't beat them on their own ground, it'd be nice if we could shut the door, as it were."

"Yeah, would be great to get back to normal," Vixen opines first off. "Though I think you're mistaken, man. Ain't no one all that effected by what I have to say. I'm not even expecting many people to show up. So you won't have anything to worry about." She grins idly and pokes through some more random items slowly. "I'm sure some people listen, but not as many as you're thinking. And even less that can and will show."

"I don't think that I've ever seen a normal Kingsdale," This is Leonard's initial thought on the matter, "not that I can really complain. Whomever shows, will show, and I won't have any complaints on that, either, so long as people make use of what we've shared. If not, well, that is entirely their own fault."

"I've already got it broadcasting," Vixen says idly. "More than normal even. If people ain't heard it yet, they ain't gunna. But I'll keep it going for a while. No sense not letting even more get a chance to hear. And I'll have it written out to pass around at the gathering." She pauses at her considering and looks towards Leo again. "Anyway, I guess I should get outta here. Don't got nothing useful to buy that I don't already have."

Leonard chuckles and nods. "I've heard it myself, several times. Almost annoying that it keeps interrupting the music." Which is, of course, the only reason he listens to the station. Mostly. "I'll be there, so you won't need worry about getting lonely if no one else shows. Just as soon as I see a man about more silver slugs that I hope won't end up in my own feet."

Vixen smirks idly and eases up to Leo, casually reaching out to trace her fingertips along his chest. "Yeah, if there's anyone I can count on to follow me around wherever I go, its you. I gotta check on some things, so I'll catch you later, alright? Maybe have some quiet time after the mess. Just in case it turns out to be more stressful than your average social gathering."

"What can I say? I am easily trained." Leonard's grin grows with the less than forlorn shrug. "Not to mention following you does offer an entirely different... view." He steps slightly closer to casually loop an arm around her waist, though seems intent only for a brief squeeze of affection. "I'm looking forward to both."

Vixen grins idly and leans in to lightly brush his lips with her own. "Yeah, but I'm gunna be all armored up for that gathering, just like everyone else. But the armor does eventually come off." Her grin turns sly then as she eases back from him slowly. "See you later, Leo." A lift and sweep of hand in parting coming as she turns to head on out of the place.

Leonard only grins more broadly. "See you, Vix. Now I hope it's a short meeting..." He lifts a hand to return the parting wave before now checking to see if the counter is free.
