The Kingsdale Library is a simply massive affair. It is one of the largest facilities of its kind in North America and continually draws the ire of the Coalition States for that very reason. It is the size of an entire city block and contains row after row and row after row after row of books, data disks and all sorts of information. Literally anything can be found here, from simple recepies on how to make food on up to the plans to Glitter Boy Power Armor. Magical knowledge abounds here too and it is not an exxageration to say that with time, one can find out just about anything. The actual structure of the 'room' is a giant square, with bookshelves reaching from floor to about ten feet. Librarians and other staff scuttle about to help people find things. Of note is the fact that nothing is permitted to leave the library and both electronic and magical wards make sure that this doesn't happen. Within this huge place are all shapes, sizes and colors. From operators pouring over technical manuals to mages studying spells to children researching for a school project. Rumors abound also of a secret sub level where the truly rare books and items are kept. These rumors are true, but unless someone has been invited to the sub-level by a few specific people.... magical wards prevent the entrance from being found.

Rasputin is working through, large stacks of books. New stacks of books. He works through them slowly, taking notes in his large note book. He tugs his beard, wets his pen, and mutters to himself in Russian.

Galvin is walking through the stacks with a couple books himself. mostly old technical manuals. He spots the dwarf looking through books and stops by his table. He slips his handheld computer back into a pocket as he waits for a good moment to catch Rasputin's attention.

Rasputin continues to work, completely absorbed by his work. He is focused on this work, going through one book, then another, then another. He does so, ever 10 to 15 minutes. He usually puts the read books in discard pile, but sometimes he puts them in a middle pile. His pen moves quickly, his eyes scan quickly.

Galvin takes the momentary pause of you switching inbetween books and uses it to speak. "Hello Rasputin. I hope I'm not bothering you." He says in a soft voice as he sets down his own books. He grabs a chair and flips it around so that the back is facing the table and he straddles it.

Rasputin stops mid sentence, mid book. He looks up and grins, "Net, net." He chuckles as he puts down his pen, and closes the book upon a small book mark. "What can I be doink for use?" He tugs his beard and smiles.

Galvin shrugs his shoulders quickly as he sets down the books he was carring on the tables. "Oh nothing. I just saw you and thought I would stop by and say hi. I didn't want to bother you if you are busy. May I ask what you are researching? Or just reading for fun?"

Rasputin eyes you up and down, then looks at the nearly 5 foot high stacks of books around him on the large table. He chuckles, "Net, net. I am researchink life, da. And death." He chuckles, "Dis a spellink, which is allowink mink to flow life toos and forths in mink selfs."

Galvin tilts his head to listen closely as he tries to understand Rasputin despite the accent. "Uh that is interesting. What sort of thing would that allow you to do?" He asks with a little curiosity as he leans forward on the chair. "I don't really know anything about spells."

Rasputin shrugs, "Dis spellink would be allowink me to take mink dife and makink energy for spells from its. Da? Movink dife to death, death to dife." He tugs his beard, "Dis a spells, to basink mink studies. Dife and death are the same, da. Just from differents points of view." He chuckle, "Da, Russian, da."

Galvin nods his head slowly as he tries to understand. "Oh ok so you could use part of your life force and use it to power you magic and spells?" He asks slowly as he tries to understand the concept. "That sounds very dangerous to me. You could kill yourself if you weren't careful. It also sounds close to like making undead or something. Please be careful Rasputin."

Rasputin chuckles and nods, "Da, da. It is sacrificink ones dife to dive longer, da? Dis not somethink to doink easy. Da. I am learnink to knows how to focus suchink magiks, da. Dhen I expand, and learn easier healink magiks, moving of energy to dife. Da?" He tugs his beard a few more times and ponders, "Dhough, net on undeads. Only deads, if i be makink mistakes. Da?" He shrugs.

Galvin adjusts his glasses, pushing them up higher on his nose. "That sounds very useful. All of my powers are really just focused on technology, and interfacing with technology. It is nice that you will be able to heal those in need, or injured. I hope your research turns out well for you. There are always those that could need such help.

Rasputin nods and tugs his beard, "Da, da. Mink skills are good at some dhinks, yours are others. Da." He smiles a bit, "Mink focus in ones ways, yours are focusink in anothers, da." He smiles and eyes your books, "So dhat is bringink you heres, to the libraries."

Galvin laughs and shrugs his shoulders slightly. "Well I guess the same thing as you. I'm working on research. They have a great deal of technical manuals her and I like to read through them, so that I can find out more. I also read some of the science fiction books they have here. I don't know I guess I've always been a reader."

Rasputin nods slowly and tugs his beard as he listens, "Da, da. Dis goodink to be always readink, da?" He chuckles, "Dis this have anythinks to be doink with whats I beink askink of yous? Or just personal growink?" He smiles and looks to you.

Galvin opens his mouth for a brief moment then closes it. He nods his head slightly before speaking. "Yes it is my favorite past time. Oh yes I've been doing some research on that. Should have some firm numbers for you very soon, and then I can get to work. But right now was just looking for personal books."

Rasputin nods slowly, "Da, da. Dis goodink." He grins, "I have net been readink muchink of fiction. Dis it goodink? Dis science fictions?" He ponders a few moments, "Or any fictions? I am thinkink that this dife hasink enough fictions in it, da?"

Galvin shuffles through his books and picks out one of the books and hands it over to Rasputin. "Oh sure I mean we live in a pretty sureal place and time. But fiction can give you hope for the future. This book for example is really interesting. I think it gives a lot of hope. It is called Stranger in a Strange land. I don't know always have to have hope for the future I guess."

Rasputin extends his hand, "Mink I be seeink it?" He says as he looks to the book, "Dhat is it abouts? Strangers of some kind?" Rasputin's mind not really understanding the word play in the title.

Galvin hands over the book placing it into Rasputin's hand. "Uh yah it is about a stranger I guess. And learning about humanity I guess. I think it is pretty good." He says with a little smile.

Rasputin looks at the dust cover, then reads a few pages in the start. He looks to you and tugs his beard, "Da, da. Are they havink another copies? I mink read dhis, when not readink magiks books."

Galvin shrugs his shoulders as he offers Rasputin a quick smile. "Take it I have already read it. I think you would like this book as well. It sort of reminds me of what is going on now. It is called Fahrenheit 451." He says as he picks up another book and hands it over to Rasputin.

Rasputin looks at this new book and smiles, "Da, da. Whatink dis this one abouts?" He looks at the dust cover and reading the first few pages, "Da, I shall be readink dis as well, da." He smiles and chuckles and adds it to the middle stack, "Can I be takink these out of heres? Or..." He trails off and looks around, "I mayink havink find electronics copie, da?"

Galvin adjusts his glasses again before shrugging his shoulders. "Um I'm not sure. I always read them here, but they look like they are new copies so I bet you might be able to check them out. Of course there might be a data disc version. I just usually prefer actual book in my hands when I'm reading for fun."

Rasputin nods slowly and looks to his large stack of bookds, "Da, da. Dhese I net be takink from libraries, da. Only for reference, dhich why mink beink here oftens." He smiles, "Mink will askink abouts these smaller books, da."

Galvin leans back for a moment before nodding his head again. "Yah or ask if they have data disc versions of the books. That way you could just download them to your computer and there you go. Read them at your leisure."

Rasputin nods and tugs his beard a moment, "Da, da. Dough, I am net havink a computers yet." He chuckles a bit, "Da?" He smiles, "Wellink, I am thinkink I need to be goink. Dis OK?" Rasputin makes a note of the various books, then stands up taking his notebook with him and putting the pen on the inside of his well tailored coat.

Galvin picks up the two books that he didn't give to Rasputin and offers the other man a nod of his head. "Yes I need to go ahead and put these books back. It was nice to chat with you as always. I should be able to get back to you about that things soon."

Rasputin nods slowly, nods to you and heads out of the library, "Dobryj vecer Galvin." He wanders out, his cane in one hand his notebook in the other.
