Leveling

When you have enough experience points to take your char up a level, there is a simple method of doing so. Please follow these instructions to make it easier and simpler for staff to manage this process!

1. Enter "+sheet/b" and "+sheet" and copy those to a .txt or word document.

2. Go through and level your character's bonuses up, including weapon proficiencies, RCC, OCC or other bonuses, if applicable. Mark the changes in bold and put the reason in rackets beside the change. For example, Strike: +5 (+1 - HtH:Expert)

3. If you gain new skills at that level (check your OCC or RCC for this)add that at the bottom of the sheet. Please note the applicable bonuses granted by this new skill (at level one) and which type of new skill it is - such as secondary, or occ related. All new skills are governed by the rules listed on page 300 of the RUE.

4. If you gained new spells or psionics, add these at the bottom of the sheet, ensuring to add level or type, and cost.

5. Attach this file to an email and send it to chroniclesofkingsdale@gmail.com with the subject line as "Your Character Name. New Level #".

6. Put in a +jobs request via +request/sheet with your char's name, and new level. Example: +request/sheet <Character's name>=<New Level and file emailed.>

Notes:

Having a Weapon Proficiency does not necessarily give you any bonus in that proficiency, but does allow you to use the weapon without the normal -6 penalty.

Physical Skills do *not* level up. They are one-time bonuses.

Leveling House Rules

OCC Related Skills

If you have an OCC that specifies that you do not gain any OCC Related skills, this is hearby nullified. As secondary skills represent things that you learn outside of your job/career, and OCC skills represent things you learn in your career, staff have deemed that it makes no sense you simply stop learning. There may be exceptions to this, but.

If your OCC/RCC does not list picking any OCC related skills as you level, you now gain one at levels 3, 6, 9, 12, and 15.

Secondary Skills

Same as with OCC Related skills, some OCC/RCCs don't get Secondary Skills as they level. On CoK, players who do not get Secondary Skills now get a single Secondary Skills at they level.

If your OCC/RCC does not list picking any Secondary Skills as you level, you now gain one at levels 4, 8, 12, and 15.

Magic OCCs

Any Magical Based OCC which normally does not gain any spells as they level, gain 1 spell at 4, 8, 12, and 15th level.

This spell can not be above the players current level.

Rifter 19

The mental skills can, under specific circumstances, be taken as a level up. They must use an OOC Related slot. They must be justifiable and reasonable. We reserve the right to refuse if we feel that it is unlikely.

So, for example, if your char has started to hang out with chars/npcs where chess or other games are played, it is possible we would allow the skill. If he is a meatshield and never talks to people like that, you have no chance.
