Kingsdale - The Nut And Bolt
The Nut and Bolt is a mechanic's hangout, catering specifically to those who spend the day's working hours with hands and minds buried within machines. It is a large place, with a broad central area on the ground floor that is surrounded on three sides by an upper floor that is open in the middle. This allows the patrons in the floor above to see the activity on the floor and main stage. The entire decor bears a decidedly industrial style. To this end the stairs that lead to the upper floor are metal mesh with an aluminum side rail, the floor in these upper sections being the same sort of industrial metal mesh. Black and white caution stripes are applied liberally as decorations and the drinks are served in glasses that have the appearance of having once been casings for mechanical parts. The tables and chairs of the place have been likewise made from crude steel but are padded and comfortable. A variety of seats are available in all different sizes to suit the body shapes of the bar's wide variety of visitors. The main bar itself has been made from the bent leg of a UAR-1 Enforcer Robot. The upper portion of it has been worked to a flat surface and polished, with the rest of it left as it was the day that it was severed. No effort has been made to disguise the Coalition markings upon the limb, or that it seems to have been severed just beneath the hip by the detonation of a plasma warhead. Other bits of robotic decoration hang about, seemingly having come from the same robot. Indeed, the machine's right arm is suspended by cables from the ceiling -- it's armoured fist closed around the handle of a giant sized beer mug. The main stage is usually populated by a grunge band of some sorts and the population of the bar is a diverse smattering of many races -- from Elves to Men. Occupation wise they seem vary from factory workers to techno-wizards. A grunge techno-rock band, complete with pink mohawks and shotgun guitars is playing 'metallic noise' on the stage.
Players- Objects- Exits- Leonard <O> Out Galvin
The current game time is: Mon Jun 26 23:50:31 107 PA.
Leonard is unsure what to make of the hushed secret, but that changes once it is shared. A brow arches high. "That would be fun, and very profitable. If you explained some of that, you might be swarmed with volunteers to help...." After a moment of consideration, he adds, "On the other hand, some might shoot you and take the equipment for themselves." He offers an unpleasant possibility as the two dicuss business at the bar. The music is all but nonexistant at the moment, possibly due to technical difficulties.
Galvin grins back at Leo as he shrugs his shoulders. "Sure that might happen, but unlikely. I mean why shoot someone that could turn a profit again and again. That and it is hard to shoot someone when your gun won't work." He says before leaning back a bit and sipping on his beer. "Anyways it was just an idea. Like I said hard to do stuff when your a bit of a loner."
Having taken care of some arrangements, Sage ends up wandering into the Bolt. There is a mild saunter to her step as she moves, inviting a little attention to come her way. As her gaze touches upon on particular fellow at a table, she smiles softly. "Lonely? Well, there'll be a gathering at the park soon enough where you can meet anyone you want... and realize your dreams." She comments before moving along towards the bar.
"Then don't be, as much as you can." It's a simple idea that Leonard mentions, but he knows it is not necessarily simple nor easy to execute. "Friends, or even just business associates are a necessity, especially if you are in search of excitement. Be social, meet others, et cetera." His wineglass is swirled in emphasis before he takes a drink. Sage's saunter and entrance are both overlooked for the moment, as Leonard is unlucky enough to be facing in the wrong direction.
Galvin turns his head at Sage's saunter, being unable to look away at that kind of walk. He spots Sage and looks at the change that seems to have overcome her since he last met her and grins slightly before turning back to Leonard. "Well easier said then done. Not as many people hang out outside of the Dregs then you would think. I guess I just have a hard time meeting people." He says with a slightly laugh while nodding his head slightly towards Sage, before taking a long drink from his beer.
Ordering herself a drink, Sage turns to survey the hunting ground for her purposes. A greeting send her way draws her attention as her gaze falls upon a familiar-looking mechanic. She offers a small smile and a nod of her head before her gaze shifts to Leonard. Her smile grows a little as she reaches out with her mind to influence the man's emotions towards peacefulness as she expects the man's reaction to be abrupt.
Leonard shrugs his shoulders. "So did I, for quite awhile." He follows Galvin's gaze away from the bar, turning to finally note Sage. Whatever reaction was expected by her, he merely gives her a relaxed smile. "Hello, Sage. How are you, tonight?" The sway is noticed, also, and it certainly does not hurt his smile in the slightest.
Galvin looks up as Sage approches them and he offers her a nervous, but admiring smile. "Uh can I get you a drink Sage?" He asks as he nervously adjusts his glasses with a finger while sipping on his beer. He looks between Sage and Leonard to see what sort of reaction is between the two.
"Not yet." Sage replies to Galvin as she gestures her own glass with a small smile, keeping that slight saunter in her step as she approaches. "Thank you, though." She says softly before sidling up to Leonard and reaching out a hand to trail her fingers through the man's hair. "Hello, Leonard." She replies softly, "I'm doing well ... and I hope you are too after what Tirzah did. I'd like to make it up to you." She adds, before considering the seating options.
"Oh?" Leonard's brows arch at Sage's touch and words, but not in alarm. Pleasant surprise and intrigue seems more the lifting force, and his smile widens. "I'm glad you are well, and I'm well enough... but you're welcome to cheer me up. If you'd like to sit, you're welcome to the stool, also."
Galvin licks his lips quickly, nervously as he tries to admire Sage with out being completly obvious. He sits back and watches while arching an eyebrow at Leonard and ofering him a little smirk. "Or you could just use Leonard as a seat I guess." He offers in a bemused fashion.
Sage favours Leonard with a smile of her own, before she raises a brow as she glances over to Galvin. A mischievous look coming to her features as she edges that much closer, allowing herself to brush lightly against Leonard. "Would you like that Leonard?" She asks in a mildly teasing tone as she looks back to the mage. Her fingers moving once more through the man's hair.
Leonard takes a moment to consider that... or that is one reason why his eyes might close. The hand in his hair could be the other, however. "I certainly wouldn't complain.." His eyes open and his smile grows, while the hand not holding his wine finds a resting place above Sage's hip. Leonard turns to Galvin and must smile even further. "If you have any other helpful suggestions like that one, feel free to speak up."
Galvin grins widely as he smirks himself. He looks from Sage to Leonard with two quick looks. "Sorry I just was saying what it looked like you both wanted. Maybe I shouldn't have said it out loud I guess." He says as he tries to feign his apology..
Taking a moment to sip from her glass, Sage sets it down onto the table afterward. She glances towards Galvin, "Oh, I'm not sure that's true... but, perhaps I could suggest something I wouldn't normally either." She comments, before edging to the point where she's all but in Leonard's lap as if daring him to dare her in. Her hand sliding from the hair slowly to rest her hand on the man's opposite shoulder. "Since you're feeling bold." She adds to Galvin.
"You don't need to apologize." Leonard chuckles to Galvin, whether the apology was genuine or not. As for Sage's dare, he is only being courteous in sharing his seat, and helpful if his hand holds her close, yes? She also receives a slight squeeze. "If this is what you had in mind to make up for Tirzah, I think it's working. If not, I'm very curious as to what you did intend..." Her last comments cause him to quirk both brows and glance between her and Gavin, "and I think you have his attention as well." He hasn't the slightest idea of what she has in mind, but it's started well enough, so far.
Galvin grins slightly as as he nods his head towards Sage. "I guess I'm feeling a bit bold. You know with the beers and all." He grins again and finishes off his beer and raises his hand to gesture to the bartender. "Another beer. And a shot of rum please." He asks of her when she gets a chance to take his order. His eyes keep looking and Leonard and Sage trying to guess what it is about the mage that so attracts the beautiful Sage.
Once she find herself resting in the mage's lap, Sage wriggles a little to get into a comfortable position. With her arm around Leonard's neck for balance, she's able to grab up a drink with the other hand to take a sip from once more. "Yes, I think I do have his attention." She agrees with the mage, before looking over to the mechanic with a small smile on her lips. "Perhaps you'd like to meet some nice girls too." She suggests to Galvin, "I know a place where I know some, if you want to go." She comments, before looking to Leonard. "And there's something I want to show you... in private." She adds, smiling. "Something for both of you there." She adds, glancing to each man.
Leonard seems to be finished with his wine, and sets it on the bartop. This is good, as he might well have dropped it in the course of Sage getting comfortable, or at her claimed want. "Not that I am in any great hurry to make you move," he can do little but grin to Sage, "but I have no other plans this evening." Yes, he realizes that Galvin is still present, but Galvin doesn't need Leonard's help to decide wheter he's interested or not.
Galvin laughs and shakes his head. "No thank you. If I wanted that sort of attention I think I would hed down to the brothels in the Dregs, but I am instead looking for something a little bit more lit a relationship." He says with an apologetic grin and a quick shrug of his shoulders. He grins at the bartender as he gets his next beer and shot and looks over at Leonard's empty glass with a bit of sadness. "Please another one for my friend." He says to the bartender as he gestures to Leonard's empty wine glass.
"Never said you had to do anything you didn't want... there's good food, drink and conversation too." Sage replies to Galvin, before she takes a sip from her drink once more before placing it down. She brings her finger to lightly trace a random pattern on the man's chest. "Good. I'm glad." She replies before pausing briefly, "Perhaps I should go freshen up a little."
"No, thank you," Leonard shakes his head at Galvin's offered refresh of his wine, "I think I've had enough." Perhaps he suspects that he might soon depart, also. The finger-drawing on his chest could spell out the words, even, as far as he's concerned. "As am I," he then agrees with Sage, "and you can freshen up if you think you should?" Since that phrase could mean about anything, he does not remotely try to guess or assume what she means by it.
Galvin nods his head to Sage at the suggestion she needs to freshen up and he smiles at both Sage and Leonard. "I'll think about it. It does sound like it would be a good time. Maybe I'll stop by." He says with a quick shrug of his shoulders as he slams down his shot of rum and then quickly chases it with a sip of his beer.
Sage's hand raises from the mage's chest to place a finger across the man's lips, "I won't be long, promise." She says softly to the man offering him a smile, before looking over to Galvin. She nods faintly, "Yes, there's no harm in stopping by... please do." She replies before she wriggles out of the mage's lap. "I'll be back." She says as she heads off towards the bathroom.
---
When we last left our intrepid social drinkers, Leonard declined a refill of his wine at Galvin's expense while Sage departed for nose powdering. After the passing of a minute or three, however, Leonard reconsiders. He requests more wine, afterall, although he has no issues with tending to his own tab.
Galvin leans back in his stool as he sips on his beer. He looks over with a raised eyebrow at Leonard as he gets his wine. "What didn't want me to buy you wine?" He says in a slightly teasing manner.
After a moment or two, Sage wanders back towards the table. She takes a moment to pause once she comes in sight of the table to consider the occupants briefly before coming on closer. A smile coming back onto her lips, "Miss me?" She asks simply upon arrival.
"Thank you, but I didn't think I wanted it." Leonard rolls his shoulders to Galvin. "I changed my mind, but it was not to insult you." He offers the man a smile as proof, or apology. The same smile pans to Sage when she returns, flickering slightly as he nods, then growing. "Of course we did."
Galvin nods his head towards Leonard as he returns the man's smile with a smile of his own. Turning to look at Sage his smile moves to her. "But of course we did." He says while raising his glass towards Sage, before taking a sip of his beer.
Sage's gaze shifts between the two men before nodding faintly, "I'm sure." She replies, before reclaiming the glass that she left behind to sip from it lightly. She walks around behind Leonard to trail a finger across the back of his neck but seems content to angle towards the empty seat. "You will let me know when you're ready to go, right, Leonard?"
Leonard shivers lightly at the passing touch, the not-necessarily unpleasant reaction enough to stutter his attempt to sip from his wine. It is set down before he turns to her, still smiling. "I was merely waiting on you, and we can go whenever you wish. The wine was only ordered because I didn't know how long you might be."
Galvin adjusts his glasses with a finger as he looks between Leonard and Sage. "You two kids have fun. What are you going to go do?" He asks with a bemused smile as he sets down his beer. "Is it a private party?" He asks teasingly before giving them both a quick wink. "Like I said have fun."
A flicker of amusement shows on Sage's features as she realizes the reaction her passing touch has on Leonard. "Ah, I see..." She replies, before looking over to Galvin with pursed lips. "I'm sure we'll figure out something... but, if a party of sorts isn't your thing, perhaps we can discuss a particular job for you later. Entirely mechanical, I assure you." She says simply before she takes another sip from her drink. Her hand settling on the back of the empty seat but she doesn't sit down for the time being.
"We shall certainly try to..." Leonard turns to return Galvin's wink and reclaim his wine before lifting a brow to Sage. "I am at your disposal. Where did you want to go?" To prove this, and so that she isn't the only one standing, he rises to his feet.
Galvin raises an eyebrow. "Oh sure I am always welcome to get more work. If it is vehicle work though it will have to go through my job." He says with a quick shrug of his shoulders before picking up his beer and finishing it off. "I don't think I have ever actually been to a party before."
Sage's gaze drifts between the two men with a thoughtful set. She takes a moment to sip from her drink before setting the glass down onto the table. "Well, there's no saying you can't come along... it is a respectable gathering." She comments to Galvin, before shrugging faintly before she looks over to Leonard. "It is a little bit of a walk from here... you'll probably know the place when you see it." She comments, before edging towards Leonard while glancing briefly to Galvin.
Leonard nods to Sage overtop of a more controlled swallow of wine, then returns the glass to the leg/bar. "The weather is rather nice for a walk, and now you have me even more curious. Shall we?" He glances to Galvin once more, with a small chuckle. "As I said, you should always meet new people and make new friends, but I won't bend your arm to go. If the lovely Sage is not enough to entice you, I know nothing I could say would help."
Galvin purses his lips together for a moment before nodding his head. "Sure I can go. Why not? And Sage is lovely and tempting that is for sure." He says as he fishes out a few credits to pay his tab. "So where are we heading?" He asks as he puts his hands in his pockets.
When mentioned as an enticement, Sage glances towards Leonard with a smile that doesn't quite hide a mildly thoughtful expression. Then she looks back to Galvin with the smile lingering on her lips. "Excellent." She replies simply, before she begins to turn to head out. "We're going to a popular hang out... just follow me and I'll make sure we get there easily." She comments before she begins to saunter ever-so-slightly on her way towards the door.
"My pleasure." Leonard is both polite and honest about following her, especially when one considers the saunter, slight or not. He already paid for his drink, and leaves it behind as he steps after her. This should be interesting, to say the least.
Galvin follows after Sage as he glances down, looking at Sage's saunter. He nervously adjusts his glasses with a finger as he walks out of the bar, following Leonard and Sage.
---
After their brief drinks and innuendo-heavy conversation, Leonard proceeds for the exit with Sage as lead and escort. It is amazing what power suggestion can hold... yet maybe not so surprising. Perhaps it can be blamed on the wine, the seat upon the lap, or merely the sway of hips, but Leonard appears quite the willing company at the moment. Oh, yes... Galvin may also be present and trailing, although he is of somewhat lower priority to Leonard, at present.
Unsure of how long she might have before her influence on Leonard might wear off, Sage doesn't really hesitate in choosing the direction to walk aside from a brief glance to the men. As she walks, she pulls out a cosmetic mirror and a stick of lush red lipstick. She holds the mirror enough to be able to see her lips and a little bit of the men.
Galvin walks along with the others. He pulls some head phones out of his pocket and puts them over his ears and starts humming along with the music as he walks. He looks into a window as he notices Sage adjusting her makeup and attempts to adjust his spikey hair. Taking some moose and a comb out of his pocket he pauses to work it so it is good and spikey before catching up.
From the outside comes the sound of tires skidding as a very sleek car peels into a parked position outside the Nut and Bold. A moment later and armored figure emerges, on his shoulder is a very aggressive looking mace. Another hangs at his hip.
Leonard still wears a smile, although it is not quite as relaxed and ..languid as before. "How far is it to..." The question is interrupted by the sudden squeal of tires in the vicinity. It is enough to startle him, even if daring drivers are not exactly unknown in Kingsdale. His attention shifts to the man who exits with some curiosity.
Once Sage has gotten to the point where she can press her lips together to even out any lipstick issues, she moves her mirror to focus more on Leonard before she slips the mirror into her pocket. She doesn't seem to be disturbed about the arrival. "Ah... our ride is here... he takes his job very seriously as you can see." She comments before she fully turns to see the two men. Her gaze drifting between the two as if considering something.
Galvin frowns deeply as he notices the aggressive looking mace. He looks this way and that as he takes a step back. "Uh can't we just walk?" He asks while he adjusts his glasses again and looking nervously at the mace. His eyes dart to Leonard to see if the other man reacts in a similar way.
Xander puases a moment before taking off his helmet to show a calm friendly demeanor. "No need to be alarmed, this implements are merely precuation. This city can be quite dangerous after all. If you would be more comfortable thoug I'll put them in car."
"It looks that way..." Leonard gives Xander a long look before regaining a slight portion of his former smile. "Still, a chauffeur... I'm impressed, Sage. Ladies, first?" He waves a hand towards the car, despite any concerns he might have of the driver or the driving. "Unless everyone would rather walk?" The last question is carried to Galvin with a glance.
Sage inclines her head slightly to Leo with a small smile on her lips, "It was easy enough to arrange." She comments, before she wanders over to Leo to give him a quick peck on the cheek that leaves some lipstick behind. "Just take my hand if you start to worry." She murmurs softly to him before she begins to move towards the vehicle to climb in.
Galvin shrugs his shoulders up and down and seems to relax a bit as Leonard doesn't seem super concerned. He puts his hands into his pockets and walks up to the car. He waits for Sage to get into the car and the lets Leonard get in before he climbs in himself. He takes off his headphones so he can better pay attention to what is going on in the car.
Xander nods slightly and will step back into the car once everyone is seated and the doors secure. "Any questions while we travel? Should only take a few minutes to get to riverwalk in my car."
Leonard is somewhat surprised by the deposit of lipstick, but follows Sage into the car and makes himself comfortable as he can. He shakes his head to Xander's question, although his attention returns to his smooching escort. "I can think of a question or two, but they are for someone else... and will be answered in due time, I suppose."
Settling into her seat, Sage simply looks to the two men to see if there's any second thoughts. A thoughtful pursing comes to her lips, but she doesn't seem inclined to speak at the moment.
Galvin seems to relax a bit as he sits within the car. He leans against the door as he turns his head to look at the other two passengers as he waits to go to whereever they are going. His hand moves to the hand rest and he taps his fingers on it as he waits.
And the group is away. Xander drive quickly, but safely, looking quite familiar with the standard capabilities of the fast vehicle. Not ten minutes have passed since departing that he pulls to a stop beside an expansive mansion on the river walk. Stepping out he'll get the door for everyone. On the property a party does look to be in progress, with music and drinks and everything.
"You are awfully quiet," Leonard observes of Sage during the brief ride. "Are you alright?" Conversely, he is not, and feels the need to fill the brief journey with some attempt at conversation. Once they stop and the doors open, he will disembark... once she does, that is.
"Just thinking." Sage replies simply, before she lightly considers Leo with her gaze. "Is there anything I can do to help you?" She asks, offering a small smile. She'll wait for the others to exit the vehicle before getting out herself.
Galvin shrugs his shoulders to himself as he hops out of the car and walks around a little bit to see what is around. He starts humming to himself as he waits for the others to exit the car eventually. His hands remain in his pockets as he walks closer to the car and examines it with an expert eye.
Xander looks to Sage and Leonard who appear to be stalled in the car. Shrugging he moves on to escort Galvin. "Would you like a drink sir?" He asks the man, gesturing to the front door,
Leonard exits the vehicle via Galvin's side as Sage lingers, then steps around the car to offer her a hand. Xander opened the doors, but is already moving to escort Galvin. "Well, you did mention a private ...conversation? I assume you didn't want to hold it in the car, though." He manages a grin and a small chuckle with that.
Slidding out of the car easily once Leonard leaves the vehicle, Sage takes the hand with a small smile. She'll let Leo decide whether he wishes to continue to hold her hand. "If a conversation is what you want..." She comments before gesturing to the walkway to the door and walking easily towards the door.
Galvin nods his head towards Xander. "Uh sure. What do you have?" He asks as he makes his way to the front door, hoping that the rest of his party can catch up. "I guess I could use a beer or maybe some bourbon." He says with another shrug as he looks around carefully. (Taking in every machine or device that is around him as he moves.)
There is not a whole lot of tech about aside from the music system and a decent home security system. Xander leads Galvin into the mansion and to the left where the lounge and bar reside. "Two shots of bourbon." He tells the bartender and they are quickly served.
"You left it as a mystery," Leonard is in no hurry to release Sage's hand, and moves with her to the entrance, "so I was only guessing. Conservatively, even. I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise." He returns her smile with one of his own that attempts to be as warm as his hand likely is.
"Then, I think you may as well keep guessing for the time being." Sage comments, before glancing towards Leo with another smile. "If you're game, of course." She adds with a playful tone, as she follows in Xander's wake.
Galvin picks up his glass of bourbon and takes a little sniff of it before sipping on it. He makes a a little face at the taste before nodding his head. "That is good stuff." He comments as he turns to watch the couple coming in.
Xander nods, taking his glass and having a sip as well. "Have a drink relax. Our hoast is with another group right now but we are next in line." He invites with a grin.
Leonard arches a brow and chuckles, with more effort this time. "I do love a mystery." As they catch up to Galvin and Xander, he nods to both and asks the latter, "Oh, we are to meet the host? Is there time for a glass of wine, or should I save it for later?" He looks betwee Xander and Sage, since they're the ones in the know.
"Yes, it wouldn't do to be rude..." Sage comments with a faint nod, "And, please enjoy yourself... it wouldn't do to have you nervous when it should be a pleasant time." She adds before settling down near the bar.
Galvin raises an eyebrow before adjusting his glasses with a finger. "A host? Who is this mystery host?" He asks as he sips on the bourbon, making a slight face with each sip. He takes his time looking around the place as he smiles softly at his companions.
"Plenty of time. Go ahead and indulge. Our host is most generous in that fashion." Xander insists before taking another sip of his bourbon. "She wants you completely comfortable so anything you need. She is the matron of this manor, a wealthy and influential woman interested in change."
"Thank you." Leonard is indulgent in his selection, although he is not quite a connoisseur. "That is quite generous and polite of ...her." The slight pause is made as he takes his wineglass, and a prompt drink of several swallows from it. "Not to mention philanthropic, I suppose. Is your idea equally generous?" He looks to Sage again, not quite spoiling the surprise, but curious and perhaps fishing a little.
As everyone else is having a drink, Sage claims one for herself. A light, sweet group. She takes a modest sip from the drink before she looks over to Leonard with a raised brow before smiling once more. "I think that would depend on what you would consider generous... and possibly what you'd be willing to accept." She replies, tap-dancing along with the man verbally.
Galvin takes his time sipping the one glass of bourbon as he listens to the description of the place. "It is a lovely place that is for sure." He comments while looking around. "What sort of buisness is she into?" He asks idly while he swirls his glass of liquor. "Can she get me a giant robot?" e asks with a wide grin.
Leonard lets out a short laugh at both Sage's reply and Galvin's request. "I would consider a giant robot very generous, from anyone, but Galvin has more use for that than I do. Since I assume that meeting our wondrous hostess is not part of your mystery, Sage, would I be considered rude to ask to see her sooner rather than later? I am anxious to do that, and continue our wonderful evening." The question is directed to her, of course, but also extends to Xerxes with a querying glance.
Xander chuckles at Galvin but doesnt shake his head. "I'm sure she could if she found that to be of benefit to our community. I dont thnk thats her way though. As you can see everyone here save myself is unarmed and unarmored. I am her sole security measure aside from the notion of good will unto others."
Sage seems to think for a moment before nodding faintly as a smile comes to her lips, "I believe our host is free now." She comments, before she takes one last sip from her drink before rising from her seat. She gestures towards a particular doorway leading to a different room before she begins to wander over toward it.
Galvin peers at the offered doorway for a moment and then motions for Sage and the others to lead the way. He hums to himself as he walks, but he is not able to hide the nervousness on his expression as he twitches a little a bit and tries to calm himself down before meeting this mystery woman.
Xander waits as well gesturing for Galvin to follow Sage and Leonard os that he takes the rear. Still sipping his bourbon he takes it with him.
With Sage in the lead and Xander trailing, Leonard walks with Galvin in the procession. A hand claps the other man lightly on the shoulder and he give him both a smile and a wink. "Calm down. Everything will be fine, I'm sure." He looks him over momentarily while they move. "If you're worried about your hair, you look fine."
Opening the door, Sage looks back with a smile before she wanders into the room to hold the door open for the men to walk in.
Last we left off Sage was leading the seemingly unsuspecting Leonard and Galvin to meet the matron of the lively manor on Riverwalk. Xander has joined them as an armed escort for their 'protection' and thus far been quite the gentleman. Now after a relaxinf drink Sage is leading thre group upstairs to the library where their host awaits. And the shock that unfolds to find that she is a 7 foot slug with 11 inch teetch..
Xander remains calm as the group is led into the library. He smiles warmly at her highness and gives a slight nod. "Gentlemen, meet her highness the Mindolar."
Her majestiy writhes and growls, slime dripping from her massive incissors. Now apparent action at first until Leonard feels a brutal assault of despair on his mind.
Leonard is neither surprised nor shocked at the sight of the Mindolar. Not at first, at least. He even makes something akin to a greeting with a nod. "Ah, a pleasure to see you... your highness..." It's possible that such is all he needed or wished to see, as his hand comes up and a soft word uttered, even as his prior bravado fades into blatant worry. Out of this concern, he acts to protect himself, and Galvin, with a narrow field of energy coalescing about the two adjacent men.
Once the men are within the confines of the room, Sage closes the door and leans back onto the door to make it harder for someone to leave the room this way. A small satisfied smile comes across her lips as she considers the two of them.
Galvin gasps loudly at the slug and lets out a sound of disgust as he shudders visably. He pales visibly as he tries to regain his composure.
Xander blinks as Leonard brings up an energy shield for ther protection. Immediately his focus is on Leonard and then Galvin, assualting their minds with confusion.
The slug follows Xander's lead, assualting Leonard's mind with confusion again.
"It would be so much easier to just give in... you can't win." Sage says simply from her post at the door. Her gaze shifts to Galvin as the war on Leonard's mind rages. She assaults the mechanics mind with despair to see if she can drive the two targets can be separated.
Galvin groans at the mental onslaught of Sage's mind powers and he tries to figure out where he went wrong to have gotten into this. He glances around and then concentrates briefly while he erects his own barrier while he tries to back away, out of the room.
Leonard is not immune to the mental onslaught, either, and sways with an akward step as his equilibrium goes... somewhere else. Perhaps it just left before him, as he wishes to be somewhere else, as well. Using his own field as support, he attempts to concentrate, a softball-sized tear in reality forming within the field. It then begins to grow. They were not trapped, and will have a passage to a safe location momentarily. Well, he is fairly certain it leads somewhere safe, but at least it is somewhere /else/.
As Leo decides to open a portal elsewhere Xander frowns and switches gears. Immediately trying to fill him with despair again and again. "You honestly turst that portal in your condition? At least here you will live."
The slug snarls again at the opening portal, its massive pulsing mind lashing out at both captives in an attempt to paralyse them.
A frown comes over Sage's features as well, "You said you wanted to see what I had in mind, Leo..." She tries to sound disappointed before she smiles faintly as slug manages to prevent the man from moving to escape through the portal. Her attention shifts towards Galvin as the portal winks out before it fully forms. She tries to assault Galvin's mind with confusion.
Galvin draws out his vibro knife from one of his many pokects and then looks around in complete confusion. Hoping to create some confusion so that he might escape from the trap that Leonard has so wonderfully put him in he concentrates and takes control of the house's electrical system and turns off all the lights in the house.
Leonard did not need any assistance in reminding him that he could not win. That wasn't his intent, anyhow. He readily believed that running the hells away can be the best part of valor. Unfortunately, he loses the ability to run, in more than one sense. His muscles freeze and, without continued word or gesture the nascent miniature rift sputters and dies.
Xander snickers as all hope is lost for the pair. "Well now, that solves that. The sifter will be most useful. What about the other? Should we let him go to bring others back?" He poses with a cunning look to Sage. Behind them the slug growls waiting impatiently for its meal.
The lights going out doesn't really effect Sage too much as she hasn't move from the door yet. "Yes, Leo will be good for us... I may even own him another kiss on the cheek afterward." She replies before pausing to consider the suggestion. "Shame they have a way to tell who's one of us... but, let us see if the mechanic can stumble his way out if he's to escape.
Galvin frowns as he tries to figure out something to do. Then remembering the phone that is in the room he takes mental possession of it and quickly dials up the first person he can think of. He calls up Rasputin and then using the keys spells out SOS and his location as best he can in morse code.
Leonard might have a great deal to add to the discussion, yet none shall know it at the moment. Regretably, his immobile state shall likely last beyond the few minutes the energy field will. On a more positive note, Galvin would then be free to flee.
Xander nods slightly and takes up the mace at his hip to let it charge with electricity. "Well then lets crack the sheel and get to work." He intones before comencing with taking down the field.
Sage uses her time to clutter up the area around the door with whatever she can blindly place her hands on to make it more difficult for the mechanic to escape.
Galvin gets ready to make a run for it as he turns on the lights suddenly to blind everyone as soon as the shield goes down. Just as quickly he turns them off and runs to the door and yanks it open as hard as he can to hopefully run down the hall and escape from the building. His plan is to use the house's electrical system to try to help his escape.
No one impedes Glavin aside from the minor obstacle that could have provided brif amusement. No he is clearly let go to get aide. Clearly her majesty has become quite comfortable in her position.
As the shell is cracked, one of the nuts inside does not flee. Leonard does not yelp, cringe, or much else. Unfortunately, he cannot even outrun her highness and her sluggishness.
And the fellow Galvin left behind is then turned, his will completely subsumed by the will of the mindolar. To bring the most useful into her service.
With the mage joining their ranks, Sage wanders over to the prone form to place a kiss on the other cheek to leave behind another lipstick mark. "Welcome, Leonard." She murmurs before she wanders off to continue planning and preparing for the gathering.
