Vixen is relaxing today. Her armor is set aside, her coat in the closet, but she keeps her pistol on hand, though in a casual holster at her side. She's actually ended some activity recently and has drifted off, laying on her side on the couch, arms crossed beneath her head as she dozes softly. She tends to be a quiet sleeper most nights and today isn't an exception to that.

Leonard isn't intentionally quiet upon his entrance, as he had no reason to be. He steps from the door towards the main room, and only then realizes that he's not alone. Now the intentional quiet begins, his steps softening both out of courtesy and mild mischief. Once to the arm of the couch, he kneels, muffling his grunt at the action, so that he can brush his lips on her cheek.

Vixen stirs just a bit on Leo's entry, drawn up from her sleep state a bit. But after a few moments she settles again. Quiet as her legs pull in a bit to scrunch her already slight form. The touch does the rest of the deed, bringing her up from the half awake state in a moment. Her eyes snapping open as she tenses. But the familiar nature of Leo's presence puts her at ease a moment later. "Mmmn.. how was your visit?" Softly murmured in that groggy way as she shifts positions, rolling onto her back slowly to make looking up at him easier and more comfortable.

"About as pleasant as climbing the stairs to make it." Leonard offers with no small bit of humor in his growing smile. "Actually, it went quite well. Simply some pleasant conversation and, as you were the topic, much more pleasant than it might have been, otherwise."

Vixen frowns faintly at that. "Me, huh? So what was said?" Her mood evening as she sits up. "What are you doing down like that.. gunna mess up your knees more. C'mon. Sit here. Want something to drink?" Her arms will go out to him, to help him shift from kneeling to sitting beside where she is now.

Leonard's smile contorts momentarily as he rises, but he managaes the transition to rise and fall well enough. "I'm fine, Vix. Need to use it a little, anyhow." Once resettled with an incriminatingly pleasant sigh, he delves into detail. "She wishes your assistance, or to offer hers, with the Dregs and the refugees, but isn't certain how best to approach you. Therefore, I became a mediator and source of wisdom on the matter."

"Who, Tirzah? She can fucking ask me herself," Vixen replies. "I already included her in talking with Emily and she tossed out her pitch, what more does she want?" Vixen rises then, turning to go towards the kitchen. "I might not like her, but if she wants to help with the resettling, I'll deal with her. As long as she doesn't try and twist what I'm doing to her ends. I don't got no aims on improving the Dregs. This is hard enough without tying it into a crusade. As long as she doesn't start trying to blow it up like that." A glass secured, she goes after the bottle of strawberry tequila she keeps on chill at all times.

"That is essentially what I told her." Leonard notes as he watches her rise and acquire her own drink. "Put aside the grand master plans and work on the task at hand. Prove intent with action, and so forth." A sigh follows. "Maybe I should take that drink offer, now. Crusade or not, she does want to help."

"Yeah, but for the refugees or for her own reasons?" Vixen's reply. She snags another glass, but both only get a half filling. "That's what I'm worried about cause of all her game and toy bullshit. I don't think she takes shit serious and the last thing I need is her 'playing' with these people. Not that I think Emily would take that.. she's a hard woman. But the last thing I want is some aspect of her own problems making what I'm trying to do harder." She comes out with both glasses, offering one to Leo as she comes near. "As long as she don't go fucking around with the gangs or anything, should be fine whatever she's up to."

Leonard takes the offered drink and a sip therefrom. "You are helping the refugess for your own reasons, are you not? I'm certain that she is, as well, but that doesn't mean that she'd abuse them in some fashion. If she wants to try and reform the entire Dregs, whether possible or not, helping the refugess is still helping them, and you, and her, all at once." After a momentary pause he feels compelled to add, "I'm merely playing the role of Satan's advocate, so please don't feel I'm taking anyone's position over yours."

"Yeah, I'm doing it for the reputation," Vixen agrees easily enough. "And that maybe what I help them make will provide some return. From them or from people that think they can use my talents once its all done with. But my ambitions are focused on them, not on some higher, impossible goal. I just want to make sure she don't try and expand what's going on to make it too big to handle." She settles down beside Leo and leans against him. "I don't want her thinking I'm interested in her reform the Dregs bull. My time is better spent on what's realistic."

"I don't doubt that she'd use it for a step up," Leonard rolls his shoulders, "if not expect it. Assuming you two join forces, so to speak." A sigh is exhaled and he takes a longer draught. "I do hope that everyone can manage to get along well enough, as I'm a poor mediary."

"As long as she keeps her crusade to herself, we'll be fine. I don't have to like her to work with her," Vixen notes. "We've done things in conjunction before.. just never something so intimate as this might be when it comes to planning. I guess we'll see what happens. I'll have to let Emily know about her and her higher motives. Just so the woman knows what's what."

Leonard's mood elevates, briefly, and a mirthful chuckle is loosed. "I did warn her that the aid of the refugees was your project, your baby, as it were, and not to dare attempt to usurp control over anything. Maybe that will help in some fashion." Then his elation fades to musing, and another swallow disappears. "Now I need to develop my own pet project, or hobby, or profession, even. It felt quite odd to have little to announce when she asked of my own goals."

Vixen lifts her glass finally to have a light, lingering sip as Leo speaks. "We can share, if you want, Leo," Vixen replies lightly. "I'm glad you're looking out for me like that, but it don't mean its all just me. We're together.. so we share. And I wouldn't mind having you thinking about how to do this better. I can't think of everything, even though I try."

"I'll gladly help you, Vix, but this is your show." Leonard's smile brightens. "I've no regrets about that, either. There is still the fact that I need to decide what I want from this world, where I wish to be, so that I can step in the proper direction. I barely have any ideas in that regard."

"I guess its something you'll have to think about a bit," Vixen offers, her own brow furrowed lightly in thought. "There's a lot of stuff happening.. but I dunno if any of it is right for you. Cause you know you best. But if I think of anything that might be interesting, I'll try letting you know, ok? Not to tell you what to do, but to point out something to do. And you know I'll help you anytime I can." She leans her head against his shoulder lightly as she says as much.

Leonard shifts his drink to drape his arm about her. "I do know. As of right now, the Guild still holds my interest, even if I'll need to dance to their beat to get in the door. Presuming, of course, that that is possible. Maybe it will prove worthwhile, maybe not." His shoulders roll slightly. "It is still a goal, if not a fixed destination."

"I ain't really heard much good about the Guild," Vixen notes, her eyes shifting towards him. "Dunno much about them.. but ain't heard a lot of good. Though I ain't going to say you shouldn't mess with 'em. You just be careful. I tend to stay freelance for a reason. Once you get mixed up in a big group, they start expecting things out of you.. just gotta make sure what they want you can give."

"You likely know more than I do," Leonard admits, "yet I won't learn any more without trying. From what I've been told, inquiries at and, potentially, errands for the Guild shop are the proper path to take. Freelancing with an option to become permanent, or so it sounds. Maybe I can juggle a share of each, once I know what options are available."

"If nothing else, its creds. And we can always use more of those.' Vixen grins idly as she lifts her head and takes a longer drink from her glass. Breathing out lightly then, she gives Leo a light smile. "What do you think those refugees might do if I actually manage to get them stable and productive? Emily.. I don't see her doing all that much. She don't seem one f or undying gratitude. But others.. maybe."

Leonard chuckles. "Credits are always useful." He then considers her question a moment before offering. "Perhaps they will construct a giant pedestal in your honor? I could aid them with the design and construction, given my experience." A sip is then taken from his drink, as if to lend validity to his supposition. Or hide a grin.

Vixen snorts faintly and prods at his side with her free hand. "As nice as that would be, I'd prefer creds," she murmurs idly. Tiger hop up onto the arm of the couch then, peering at the two a moment before he slinks down, pushing in at Vixen's under side. Her free hand goes that way, reaching across to give him a light scratch. "I guess we'll just see. Even if it ain't all that much, it is a good thing."

Leonard's restraint folds with the prod and his grin blossoms. "It was only a thought, and maybe more likely than credits. I don't see that they could offer much, even should they get established. If you're that anxious to build a nice little nest egg, I can always contribute, you know." His grin softens to a warm smile. "Since we're sharing. One very good impetus for my finding a professional goal, also."

Vixen shakes her head slightly. "We share, but ain't no need to mingle things too much yet, Leo," Vixen notes. "But if I need something and I can't get it, I'll ask you. I'm proud, but I ain't too proud when it comes to you, Leo. Guess maybe I showed that already before.. with that thing at the Deli." Her eyes flick to the side lightly, a hint of the embarrassment that lingers from that public outburst.

"That was a good thing, Vix." His arm firms briefly about her with Leonard's encouragement, and following admission. "You weren't the only one holding onto pride, and I don't know if I would have ever let go, if you hadn't done so. Still, I'm sorry that I put you in that position."

"Its ok, I guess.. I mean, it ended well. I just.. when you were looking so sad, I just had to tell you what was real," Vixen tells him lightly. "Now, you're happy and that makes me happy. And if I ever do something that makes you unhappy, I want you to tell me. I speak Truth and I like hearing it. You promise me you'll tell me like you have been?"

Leonard nods. "I will, you have my word on that. Maybe it's Maya we should be thanking," a sigh interrupts, "as it was she who helped put me in that depression. Well, my alienating her, rather. She's still upset with me, and it wasn't even intentional. Not that that is a surprise, on my part." "She'll come around," Vixen replies confidently. "You just gotta be the best you can be. I'll talk to her too. Maybe not just yet, but in time, if she doesn't." She takes another light sip and leans against him again. "It'll get better, just like we will. Just gotta be patient. Be your best."

"I hope so. She's one of the few who was never judgemental, or playing games." Leonard leans firmly into her, drink now resting in his lap. "Patient and my best... and you wonder why a wave of my fingers is so tempting..." A light tough of humor creeps in with the last, although it is not wholly in the realm of jest.
