The current game time is: Sat Jul 18 18:33:28 105 PA. The Kingsdale Library is a simply massive affair. It is one of the largest facilities of its kind in North America and continually draws the ire of the Coalition States for that very reason. It is the size of an entire city block and contains row after row and row after row after row of books, data disks and all sorts of information. Literally anything can be found here, from simple recepies on how to make food on up to the plans to Glitter Boy Power Armor. Magical knowledge abounds here too and it is not an exxageration to say that with time, one can find out just about anything. The actual structure of the 'room' is a giant square, with bookshelves reaching from floor to about ten feet. Librarians and other staff scuttle about to help people find things. Of note is the fact that nothing is permitted to leave the library and both electronic and magical wards make sure that this doesn't happen. Within this huge place are all shapes, sizes and colors. From operators pouring over technical manuals to mages studying spells to children researching for a school project. Rumors abound also of a secret sub level where the truly rare books and items are kept. These rumors are true, but unless someone has been invited to the sub-level by a few specific people.... magical wards prevent the entrance from being found.

The quiet of the library is normally a place to go for rest and relaxation with a good book, or perhaps researching your favorite subjects, or even meeting the occasional business partner when quiet is needed. Today though it's just a touch unruly, not loud.... but things are moving. Hayate is on the balcony above the main floor, thumbing through books with Japanese titles. He takes one and turns, walking toward the edge of it and as it taking a step down a flight of stairs he jumps off the balcony, landing soundlessly below and continueing to walk, reading the first few pages as he moves.

Caliopa lets herself into the library, limping still, but now with both boots on. She has several heavy books of technical data to return, handing them over to the librarian with a sunny smile that touches and warms brown eyes. She exchanges soft words, and laughs at his comments before turning away.

Hayate glances up hearing your laughter and a smiles creeps across his face. He catches himself before it turns to a grin, reminding himself that you are not his to approach or think of like that, and he busies himself with the text on ancient Japanese swordplay.

The librarian calls her back, holding out a book. Her smile lights up, and she exclaims, the words lost in the low tones, muffled by the seriousness of the air in the library. She turns then, the book open, apparently technical data on a long lost piece of machinery, and walks, nose in book, unaware of her surroundings, lost in the beauty of ancient machinery.

Hayate looks up at you again, as you approach and as he watches, he spots your path about to make your left knee collide with a table across from him. He watches you and watches it, hoping your going to change your path, when you don't his foot lashes out and he kicks the table out of your path and pulls his foot back before you run into him.

She is utterly unaware of the moving tables, but moves towards one of the tables, in eyeline of him, as she lowers the book. She perches onto a stool, putting the book down with a gentleness that shows the respect she holds the information in. As she settles, she glances up, looking around. Her gaze snags on him, and a small frown appears between her eyes. "Don't I know you?" She asks, soft enough not to be thrown out, but to carry.

Hayate nods. "Yes.. I am Hayate. And you have my pistol, I asked you to fix it." He says gently. "I'm not suprised you don't remember. I'm easy to forget." He says with a faint smile. What brings you here?" He asks, setting his own book down on the table with the same carefull consideration.

She rests an elbow on the table, putting her chin in her hand, "Ain't that you are forgettable. There was that fight then, I reckon, and I still got your gun. It is all done, was figurin' you gone out of town." She smiles then, the sunniness spreading over her face, lighting up brown eyes to liquid honey. "I like the books on the old machines, gives me something to think on."

Hayate shrugs. "Either way." He says with a soft shrug. "And yes.. You could say I was out of town." He says smiling, thinking of his recent pan-dimensional travels. "Really? I enjoy the books on ancient weaponry, and how to improve the modern things."

She wrinkles her nose, "It ain't a bother, I still got it and I ain't gonna charge you a holdin' fee." She smiles again, almost chuckling. "Most folks, they don't leave down without their guns." She taps her fingers lightly against her cheek, the movement emphasising the smudges of oil there.

Hayate shakes his head. "I'm not most folks.. but I have a gun simply because sometimes it's better to have one than not. I prefer my blades." He says reaching to his back and pulling forth a single blade, which you can easily tell is a vibro blade. "This.. is simplicity itself. Forged of the strongest alloys modern technology allows... and honed to a razors edge, it will cleave flesh and armor with the same ease. No parts to maintain, nothing to adjust or fix.. and in the hands of someone like myself, deadlier than any gun you can think of." He says with a loving touch to the blade.

She glances at the blade, lifting eyebrows, the interest in her eyes purely technical. "Those ain't bad, I'm told. Ain't hard to fix, I know." She grins, giving a small shrug, before she drops her fingers to the book. "I ain't at the AIM no more, got a place of my own. If you come down to the north of the Dregs, I'm there, Cali's place." The smile holds pride in her own garage.

Hayate nods and he gives the blade a simple flourish, which would appear to defend from a sword strike at his back before he upends the thing and sheaths it into the hard sheath on his back. "I have have to visit you then, get my pistol back." He says gently.

She nods, oblivious to the combat move, her smile unchanged. "Atti's place is above it, he got it all set up rightly flash too." Her face changes slightly, softening, as she mentions his name. "The agency looks right real now, stead of being out of our spare room."

Hayate looks at you oddly. "Who?" He questions softly, looking confused. "And what Agency? I've heard of no new agency or business out that way, and I've had my ears pretty close to the ground."

She gives him a puzzled look, the smile fading, her forehead wrinkling. "Atticus. He runs Si Sera, kinda detective stuff. Does a lot of the VCF workin's." She shrugs, "Ain't a new agency, been goin' for a time now."

Hayate nods and thinks on this for a second. "Right..." He says wondering what exactly he does.. and what work the VCF did. "I work alone on things most times... so.. Agencies and such are not really my forte."

She shakes her head slightly, biting her lower lip. "Figured that there weren't a person not seen the news 'bout Atti 'n' all clearin' out the vamps from Dregtown. Guess there is." She smiles then, giving a small shrug. "Guess some folks were made to work 'lone and others, they get on best with others."

Hayate smiles breifly. "I'm been trained to work alone for the majority of my life.. I simply don't know what teamwork entails.. the few 'Teamshayate, caliopa' I was made a part of, I went in, did the wet work while my partner collected the info through my suit. That's it."

She wrinkles her nose, a cute gesture. "Atti does team stuff well. Kinda pickin' them folks so that they know what their job is, each got one, each knows what they're doin'. Seems to make a piece of sense. Works like an engine."

Hayate shrugs. "Not much for mechanics either. I know how to do only a few things.. but those things I do very well." He says watching your face, admiring it through a closely guarded gaze.

Caliopa does the nose wrinkle again, shaking her head. "See, don't need everyone to know a piece of mech, cause I do. So I do it, you guys pay me, its kinda team work." She smiles again, the warmth lighting up honey eyes. "Atti seems to work it out anyways."

Hayate smiles. "Perhaps." He says with a simple shrug. "You sound as if you're trying to recruit me to work for this... Atticus." He says in a low voice, watching you with those intense eyes. "Are you?"

The suggestion widens her eyes, surprise showing on her expressive face. "I ain't thought of it. Reckon if you'd be of use, you might take with him." She shrugs, leaning both elbows on the table and resting her chin in her hands, her fingers framing her face. "Ain't entirely certain what he has gotten goin' on, I jus' look at the pieces."

Hayate shakes his head. "I have more than enough to keep me busy for quite some time. I don't think I could handle something else on my plate. But I will drop by your shop sometime to pick my pistol up.

She nods, her smile returning. "Tain't a bad piece that, but tis all done and dusted. Got it sittin' pretty in one of my boxes." She straightens, picking up the book and giving him that warm, sunny smile again. "I best get back. You come 'n' pick it up, anytime." She rises, hugging the book to her chest.

Hayate nods and he turns back to his book, and once he feels your gaze leave him, he turns his gaze to watch you leave.

She walks towards the door, lifting a hand in greeting to the librarian, giving him a smile as she leaves.Tags:caliopa, hayate
