Vixen starts to walk along with Leo, her camera turned to the side. "I'm just making sure you know you can put whatever on there, just so long as I approve it. After all, gotta have some quality control and make sure nothing.. scandalous gets out." Her grin turning a little sly. "Besides, I wanna see what's a day in the life of Leo like when I'm not around, even if the public don't get to see."
Later in the afternoon, Vixen is standing a bit off one of the paths, her eyes cast outward a bit. The day is nice, sans rain with comfortable temperatures and many are taking advantage of it. But her eyes are on Leo, how is a distance away, using her camera to film some of the people around. She stands with her arms lightly crossed, observing him at it with a light air of amusement, her head canted just a bit to the side.
As the filming continues the couple may notice people starting to congregate towards the cemetery where it seems some sort of display is happening. Specifically in the corner bordering the cemetery people are stopping to observe, but also giving the activity a wide birth. A good third of those who pass by take one look and turn away to be in another part of the park. Another third is cautiously curious, and the last third is pretty avid. What they are watching is a sparring match. Which isnt all that uncommon on a nice day in the park, but the participants are something new. On one side is Tirzah, clothed in her black leathery armor and armed with long vibro vambraces on each arm. Her opponent is a mostly translucent entity of air.
Vixen glances towards the gathering so to speak, having been listening to it for a bit without moving over. But eventually curiosity gets her attention and she turns to able that way slowly. When she gets near enough to get a look, she pauses, not pressing to move to the forefront. Her head canting a little as she gets a load of what's going on. A slight smirk comes to her as she notes the goings on, arms lifting to lightly cross her chest as she lingers to watch.
The current dance of the spar has the entity unarmed and simply avoiding Tirzah's attacks, usually with ease. Though purely defensive sooner or later Tirzah's mortal efforts follow through and the blades harmlessly penetrate the entity's form. This dance appears to be finishing as merely a warm up as Tirzah starts to perspire and steam form the efforts. The black hide she wears must be extremely hot in the sun, but she seems used to it. Stopping a moment to grab a drink for a near bottle and wet her hair Tirzah then approaches her opponent. A few exchanged whispers and a twig is taken up by the air creature. Then with a flash a blue energy the twig is enveloped in ice to become a magical blade of frost.
Vixen watches with a quiet, calculating sort of attention. Not too intense, but keeping a steady track of what's going on, eyes flicking along with the action. She pauses, considering the venturing of some words when the break comes up, but she decides against it, casually moving position without pushing forward to a better vantage point when the ice blade gets made. That gets an arch of her brow, only vaguely remembered. She settles again then, not making much effort to be seen or not, simply observing the goings on quietly.
The match is very different with the elemental armed to fight back against Tirzah's efforts. Right off the bat the high speed and strength of the entity is apparent as it gets the first attack. The attack is parried with the vambraces though allowing Tirzah to counter with her own attack in turn. So it continues appearing to be a much more desperate match to Tirzah. Though she seems on par with the elemental in her skill to parry its attacks, its skill to parry hers is clearly higher. And so the elemental usually gets three hits in to her every two. The match briefly pausing with every second or third hit she seems to take. Seems as the frost blade doesn't appear to actually contact her, but is deflected off just before.
Vixen watches the two quietly still, making casual note of the details involved, perhaps more so than the average gawker. Magic.. She keeps her eye focused on the two, going so far as to nudge a youth who interposes himself between her and her watching with her toe to get his head out of her line of sight. He makes a low fuss, but she ignores it for the most part, head canting as she keeps her focus. Thoughtful, but leaving her thoughts unspoken for the moment.
Her disadvantage is quite clear as the next pause takes place. But still Tirzah doesn't express that she is in a losing battle. Certainly there are rules, safeties that make this a spar. But her cunning smirk implies more than that. Suddenly inky blackness coalesces to envelope the pair. Much to the chagrin of those watching. But the sound of the match still carries. From it it seems to be a match of renewed furry as the tables turn once more. Barely thirty seconds pass the the opponents exit the field, Tirzah pushing the elemental back with unerring resolve. And signals the stop, apparently satisfied for now as she pants and grins at her translucent companion. "Thank you again friend. Back home you go." She tells it and it evaporates shortly followed by the darkness as Tirzah head back to her water a bag.
"Interesting show," Vixen says a few moments after, approaching once all is said and done, the opponent sent away. "Or spar. You handle a sword pretty good." Her mood relaxed, tone equally so. "Ever thought about teaching someone?" She pauses nearby, but with a comfortable eye towards space. She glances towards those who might linger, though without really focusing on any one person.
Tirzah shrugs lightly managing a weak smile before she takes a few long swallows of water. "Well I can hold my own, but I'm far from the best. My reflexes just aren't good enough for that, skill only goes so far. So often I have to resort to other tactics to even the field against someone with better influence." She explains modestly before really considering the question. "But I guess you're right, reflexes are not easily taught, but the skill could be. Just never had anyone approach me with interest I guess."
Vixen shrugs her shoulders and states, "You do what you gotta do to win. Wouldn't be a real fight if you didn't dig into a bag of tricks. I've been thinking about learning to use a blade of some sort. Swords are a bit big, but.. they'd fit the bill. Don't really got time for it right now, but in the future I would be. Not for nothing, of course. I know plenty I could share in return."
Tirzah looks Vixen over anew as she considers to finish with a firm nod. "Sure, why not. Heck maybe even a good way work out some friction we have at times. I often spar early every morning in the gym. Feel free to drop in." She offers with a smile before taking up her shirt and leather pants to cover up the armor. "Speaking of exchanges, is Leo about? I'd like to talk to him about some spells he has." She asks as she redresses.
"I might, though like I said, don't got enough time to drop into it right now for some real teaching. I'd have to actually get a sword too." Vixen smirks a little and adds, "Not like I got much in the way of issues with that now." She then glances back towards where she left Leo before. "He's around.. playing with my camera. Might have wandered off to get a good shot. Or try to." She looks back towards Tir. "He ain't too good with tech."
Tirzah nods looking around to see if she might spot him as she takes up her bag. "No rush, I'm not going to relent in the ritual any time soon I don't think. I'm unstable enough with it. But with Sage's problems nearing a solution that should pass soon. Maybe then I'll reach some sort of balance. That job for Kesslan was a good example of how I am slipping from that i think." She rambles a bit before taking a few more swallows of water.
"There were some problems," she replies. "I didn't see everything, but I heard Kess freak out. He doesn't freak out easy most times I've seen him," Vixen opines with a light shrug. "But at least you know it. Sometimes I wonder about that little detail." She doesn't look around much, though only casually observes Tirzah herself. "Being cool all the time ain't easy under pressure and that was a big pressure time."
Leonard had wandered off with the camera, but like most semi-intelligent animals, hewill eventually wander back to the source of sustenance and security. He appears a short distance behind Vixen, the filming of interesting people certainly not complete without her in the shot. Now his steps bring him closer to the women as he continues to film his view of Vixen.
"Yeah I guess, all things considered I did pretty well. Wasn't the best situation for my skills though." She concedes before looking to Leonard as he returns to the fold. "There you are!" She exclaims, stepping up to get her face right into the view of the camera. "Like having tunnel vision?" She asks from the close perspective.
"Don't see why not," Vixen replies when it comes to the applications of Tirzah's particular skills. When Tir notes Leo, she half turns and grins as she sees him filming her. "Figures," she murmurs, turning fully as Tir goes to get up and into the camera's field of view. "It's not tunnel vision unless you get too focused on it and forget there are other things around you. Me, I have a good set up to let me have a broader view."
"In this case, yes," Leonard quips, his grin apparent despite the camera, "but I didn't need to camera to be aware of the focus." It is finally lowered and he nods to Tirzah while offering the camera back to Vixen. "Good afternoon. Out enjoying yourself, as well?"
Tirzah nods, her face still holding a sheen from the work out moments ago. "Yeah, you could say that. And I'm glad you are too. I have a favor to ask of you." She states, her fiery gaze firmly locked on Leonard as she identifies she wants something. "I'd like to borrow you and your spells, to see what we can incorporate into the technowizard devices I'm having built for the refugees. Specifically I want that create wood spell, but maybe there are more we can use too." She explains.
"We already have a few tons of wood made up," Vixen notes. "For a while before, Leo was pumping that stuff out pretty steady. Just a matter of moving all of it to the new location, most is scattered over at the refugee camp outside, under tarps." She moves a bit closer to the two, hands slipping into her pockets lightly. "What are you looking to do?" She asking Tirzah, of course. Leonard nods his agreement. "If what we have is not enough, I would be more than happy to help generate a device to create more. Conjuring lumber is not the most exciting of invocations in the first place, and only becomes more tedious with time. It has limited use in constructing anything with any substance, however."
Tirzah smiles as she looks back to Vixen and nods. "That wood is for building. This will be for producing. My vision is centers for healing, creation, protection. Fueled by their own mystical energies, even if minute. An advantage for them to build on. I am already gathering scrolls and materials for a healing bed, now I'm looking to a work bench where they can create whatever they may need. Mostly with mundane skill, but some arcane can go a long way. Eventually a forge of similar design would be nice as well, but the create steel spell is not easy to come by."
"The wood is for whatever is required," Vixen notes. "Just a matter of giving it a use. Traiding, building, making stuff. Ain't like its hard to get more. Leo can make it faster than it gets used, probably." She grins at him, then looks back to Tirzah. "A work bench that makes things?" Not quite sure on the details of that particular item.
"Yes," Leonard shakes his head in the negative, and mostly towards Vixen, "but, as I said, it's a very dull task. A device sounds infinitely more efficient." Now he nods his confirmation of Tirzah's last words. "It is not easy to obtain at all, as I learned when I made inquires on that while studying the wood conjuration. I'll help in as much as I can."
Tirzah smirks, cocking her head at Vixen. "I'm not trying to demean Leonard's contribution so far. But do you want to tie him down to it indefinitely? Some trust in me and my connections wont hurt, I promise." She tells Vixen with a reassuring tone. "That and I thought the goal was their independence. Devices that they can fuel with pooled arcane energies helps that without denying the advantage altogether. Currently the design is that the bench will be able to create wood for them to work with, and mend broken things for them."
"Helping is good, though you shouldn't give things away for free, Leo," Vixen opines, glancing towards him a moment before she looks to Tirzah again. "Not like he spends hours at it, but the idea sounds like a good one," she replies. "I just like to know what's going on. The medical bed thing sounds interesting as well. Right now we got a little deal to provide some medical help to them, though its limited cause resources aren't broad."
Leonard lifts a brow at Vixen. "I wasn't intending to give anything away, other than some time and effort. It would likely be less work to aid in crafting than doing the conjurations, myself." His shoulders roll before he glances back to Tirzah. "I'm sure it would help replace a great many things that they lost or abandoned."
Tirzah nods to both Leonard and Vixen and grins widely. "Oh is that all? Yeah I'll pay him for his time. How about every spell he provides the others I'm gathering to help in this is returned by another spell of equal level? Already I'm acquiring a mid level healing scroll for Renos to learn from." She proposes cheerfully.
Vixen grins at Leo. "I'm just saying," she murmurs, moving up to his side slowly then, a hand reaching out towards his own. "Trade for trade is a good way to do things, though I'd leave that to Leo. It is his magic, after all." She looks towards him. "Just like my show is mine. Though you're always welcome to comment on it and suggest things." A light reminder for the guy. You have just received a vote.
Leonard meets Vix's hand halfway and chuckles. "An exchange of knowledge would be most beneficial to everyone, I'd say. That is easily acceptable, Tirzah. I always make comments and sugegstions," he now notes to Vixen with a grin, "when I believe that I can offer something to improve on what you're doing. That's not an easy task, though."
Tirzah smiles warmly to Leonard with a confirming nod. "Its settled then. Well get back in touch when we are working on that device, after the healing bed." She promises with an assuring look. "Now if you'll both excuse me, time nears for me to head for home and Sage." She bids with waves of farewell before heading off at a slight jog.
"Sure," Vixen replies to Tirzah with a nod. "Catch you later." She turns, looking towards Leo. "Camera." Her other hand held up for that vital nexus of her hobby. "Get some good shots? I'll have to go through them and see what's there. Save some more stock footage for later. I wanna see what you get when you start using your camera too. Large or small."
Leonard offers Tirzah a casual wave with one hand and Vixen the camera with the other. He then turns to the latter as the other departs. "I'll leave judgement of 'good' to your trained eye, but I'll share whatever I happen to catch. It might be alot of you, though."
"I've seen some pretty nice stuff out of people that don't know much about filming," Vixen notes, grinning a little. "MIght be some people have a natural eye or they just get lucky, but I think you'll find some good things. Just don't forget to let me see. It'd suck if a gem got lost cause it was set aside without being seen." She casually slips her camera into her coat, leaving the inspection for a later date. She glances after Tirzah and says, "That'll be a load of Maya if she makes some sort of healing bed. Though if you're not making wood, what'll you do to help me then?"
"I didn't think that we needed any more," Leonard admits, "and I never said that I would stop helping you with that if we still do. Aside from that, I'm sure that you'll be able to find a reason to keep me around." He grins with that. "There might not be more relelvent magical assistance for me to provide, but I can do soemthing."
"I'm just not wanting you to feel like you're being nudged out by nothing, Leo." She smiles and her other hand dips to join in enfolding his one. "If nothing else, you can keep an eye on Tirzah for me. she's got quite a few ideas on her. Gotta make sure they fit in, though on the surface they sound alright. Though magic stuff ain't my bag. You know more about it than me." Leonard shakes his head. "I don't, babe, although I do with I could do more to help you. You seem to have most of it well in hand, and better than anyone else might. I can keep an eye on her and her grand plans, to keep you informed."
"Thanks, Leo." Vixen smiles and then says, "C'mon. Lets head home, though I wanna stop by the library first, see if there are some books on that wilderness junk.. you can tell me which are good and not." Setting a course for the start of the evening to come, though one undefined and full of possibility.
