Kingsdale - Draconic Secrets

Draconic Secrets is an unusual shop for an unusual shop owner. It is one of the only places in all of North America, and the only one in all of Kingsdale that offers Dragon Juicer conversion. However since candidates for this conversion tend to be a bit scare the store also offers an assortment of TW devices, alchemical mixes and components. That's not all however, as the store specializes in catering not only to Momano Headhunters but also specializes in biosystem replacements aimed at aging and injured wizards and other magic and psionic users who tend to go out of their way to avoid cybernetics in order to preserve their abilities.

The front of the store clearly caters to those of a magical bent. An assortment of basic alchemical potions, powders and other ingredients takes up a small corner of the store, while techno-wizard devices fill the rest of the available space. The range of techno-wizard devices range from fairly common TW converted grenades, missiles and guns to a showcase of some of the most bizarre devices ever conceived. Some with practical applications, while others which are little better than fancy toys. These days the store is staffed mostly by apprentices though sometimes one can still catch the store owner Regius behind the counter or dealing with high profile customers.

Tirzah has arrived.

Monday afternoons are always the slow time. Doesn't matter who you are. Nemain putters quietly in the shop having dusted once already. She has a pistol opened up on the counter adjusting one of the gems inside. The tip of her tongue showing as she concentrated at getitng it settled in just so."

The fog dimming the street lights and blotting out the thin moon entirely makes for a eiry start to the late January evening. But some parts of town are better for this than others, the magic district probably the most hospitable. So its no feat really for Tirzah to brave it, slightly worn ad in hand but perhaps worthy of mention just that she does. Entering the shop she's some what familiar with with an unfamiliar look she considers who is, and is not, about.

Nemain glances up from her work and offers a small smile. "Greetings. How may we be of service to you this evening?" She glances past you out at the fogs and sighs. The pistol getting slipped under the counter so she can focus on the customers.

"I'm fine thanks." Tirzah replies as she steps up to the counter. "You work here? I'm looking for the poster of this ad." She enquires, placing the ad on the counter for confirmation. Not expecting results right away she lets herself get distracted and look about again, looking for something familiar perhaps but not appearing to find it as she turns back. "You were the mage at the bar yesterday." She starts, its a start.

Nemain's lips quirk as she looks at hte posting and nods. "Yes, I think you could call me the gae that was at the bar. Though most of my work is in the converion of tech to work with magical energies." She taps the add and blushes. "Was this place up on the wrong area? I think the boss was trying to drum up some business."

Tirzah nods slightly, her fiery eyes narrowing at the indirect mention of techno wizardry. "Yes, you must be new. I've come here for tw work before, however the last tech went and had a mental break down on me or something similarly ridiculous." She explains before looking to the ad again. "Who's the boss? I'd like to speak with him or her about a possible business arrangement."

Nemain chuckles softly as she inclines her head. "The owner is out at the moment. Perhaps I could be of service in his absence? And yes, I am a TW. Are you looking for something to be crafted specifically for you?"

"I'm looking to make half a dozen or so items over the next year or so, if I can afford to. I'm Tirzah, a mid level warlock. Pretty experienced in getting things for people and taking them places. Thought maybe you guys might need things, like gemstones retrieved or other components. Thought I'd leave my name as one of the best." She explains with a slight nod. "I also have all the components already for two items, just need a techno wizard like yourself to put them together for me. If the price is right."

Nemain ahhs softly and grins as she pulls out a pad. "If you'd care to tell me what those two items might be I could work on getting a quote for you." She notes down your name and the offer as well. "I'll pass this information onto the boss to see what he thinks."

Sage has arrived.

"I've got a workbench, mend the broken spell scroll and a three karat amber to put towards making a bench that will fix whatever is put on it." Tirzah begins, pausing to make sure the girl has it so far. "Underline the spell scroll, those aren't cheap and will allow the tech to make more of the same in the future so I expect appropriate credit. I also have a medical bed and scanner, heal wounds spell scroll and four three karat red orange agate to put towards a bed that heals."

Nemain nods slightly as she notes it all down. Underlining where instructed. "Alright. First one you have a workbench and amber to hold the Mend the broken spell. Second in the list you have a bed, agate and spell to make a bed of healing. What were the other items you were wanting made?" She glances up to Tirzah and offers a disarming smile, "Just so that the boss has an idea what he's going to have to invest into this as well."

With word spreading of a new techno-wizard in town, Sage has let curiousity get the better of her as she drops by the Draconic Secrets. She opens the door to slip in out of the cold, before she takes a moment to look around. When she notices her partner and the white-haired woman, she pauses. She has an 'oh' moment. They seem to be speaking in-depth, and she approaches slowly as a result.

Tirzah nods smiling contently as everything is taken down accordingly. "I have several other gems, but I'm not sure what they'll work for, so make a note of that. I'd like shielding for my armor, frostblade on my vambraces, and arcane energy storage to handle the needs of both. I can supply the frost blade spell, or any other lower level fire or air spell he might have need of." She continues before pausing to think of anything else. "Also before the other tech lost it we were pondering a device to make food and water for the poor. Not really any specifics on that one though."

Nemain ohhs softly. She notes that down as well. "Frost blades for your vambraces? Set solidly or did you want them retractable? And as for the storage unit? How much of a draw are you planning on putting on it? One spell at a time or full battle where you would be drawing extensively on it repetedly before you could replentish the charge?" Her gaze flicking towards the new arrival as she offers a small smile. "Pardon, miss. I'll be with you in a few moment. Please forgive the wait." Her attention shifting back to Tirzah as she cants her head slightly. "The jems? Would you be willing to bring them in to be cataloged? Or would you prefer to do that yourself and bring in a list?"

When the white-haired woman acknowledges her presence, Sage nods faintly in response. "Of course." She replies, glancing towards Tirzah before looking away a moment afteward. She lets her gaze drift instead to consider the displays that are being offered here instead.

Tirzah nods slightly and reaches down to her belt to retrieve a small velvet pouch. She looks back as she does to see who the girl is talking to and smiles warmly at her partner. "Ah so you're not going to sleep all day. What brings you here though love?" She asks idly as she unties the strings to spill out a dozen or more gems onto the counter. "I got the impression storage is pricey so it may depend on what I can afford or negotiate but if I could match my personal daily capabilities that would be excellent. The vambraces retract to one foot in length and extend to two feet. I didn't bring them with me today though. They are CS issue if that clears it up at all."

Nemain ahhs again and nods as she notes that down next to the vambrace frostblade notes. "Storage can be tricky to get right at times. Especially with mutiple systems tied into it. But worth it in the long run." She ohhs as the gems are brought out and slips a little closer to examine them. She nibbles at her lower lip as she notes each one down. "Quite the collection there. Could be useful for several things."

When her partner isn't so absorbed over business to disregard her, Sage's gaze returns with only the slightest reluctance. Although the first coment does give her an indignant expression. "Wouldn't be my fault if I did." She retorts, before considering the question briefly. "I wanted to see if the new..." She glances towards Nemain, "... person seemed more... easier... less confusing..." She begins to realize she can't find a good way to put it right now before looking back to Tirzah, "I think you get the idea." Then as business talk begins to resume, she begins to move closer to her partner.

Tirzah nods recollecting the gems once they are noted. "Yeah we found an abandoned jewelry store a while back. Not lavish but some nice things for sure. Grabbed a wide selection since I wasn't sure what was good for what." She explains before turning back to smile and nod at Sage. "Is not such a nutjob? Well that remains to be seen but so far so good." She opines, turning back to the girl with a smirk. "What's your name by the way?"

Erica arrives from the street. Erica has arrived.

Nemain chuckles softly as she quirks up one snowy brow. "Nutjob? I thought that was required learning at the Academy." She taps her chin with the back end of the pen. "Mmm hmm, Nutjob 101 through 105. Taught by Prof. Its Forless. Required in the freshman term. Sorry, failed the whole course." Then laying down the pen she offers a hand, "Nemain."

A faint look of amusement comes to Sage's features as the woman sums up the other techno-wizard a bit more to-the-point than she was consider. "She seems nice enough once you poke her out of getting too deep into her work." She comments, stopping within arm's length of her partner. Then glances towards the Nemain. She gives the woman a small smile at the show of humour. "I can tell." She comments.

Erica walks into the shop with a long case in one hand. She walks into the store a little hesitant at first. Looking around with wide eyes at all the strange devices she gnaws on her lower lip for a moment before heading deeper into the store. Walking further into the store she notices a group chatting and waits instead of interupting.

"Well he was a maniacally depressed nutjob for quite a while. Then all of a sudden he got better and became a creepy nutjob.." Tirzah elaborates before taking the hand. "Pleasure to meet you Nemain." She wishes, giving a firm shake.

Nemain returns the firm shake and hmms, "I wonder if you mean... No, probably not. But I haven;t had to work with him yet." She doesn't elaborate from there. A small grin showing as she winks to Sage. "Yes, yes.. I get lost in my work sometimes. Occationally even in bars that my pop's would be passing moonstone bricks over knowing I even went into. Despite the fact he was there almost every night of hte week."

"I suppose you would know that better than me there." Sage comments as she glances back to Tirzah for a moment, getting a faint smile as she thinks back to how the courting went between her and the man. She shakes her head faintly before looking back to Nemain. She nods faintly to Nemain, "Well, let mw know if you end up wanting a place of your own to setup in." She offers, before reaching out to touch her partner lightly on the shoulder.

Erica keeps waiting quietly until she is acknowledged before she speaks up. She turns her head to look over a wall with wide eyes. She looks over the strange devices with a little wonder as she tries to figure out what some of them do. She gnaws on her lower lip as she waits her turn and examines some weapons.

Tirzah nods slightly, turning to get an arm around Sages back as she draws nearer. "I think that about covers it for me. How long should I give you before checking back again?" She asks before her turn causes her notice Erica perusing the merchandise. "Careful Erica, that one will turn you to stone." She kids.

Nemain answers softly as she retrieves her hand. "I expect the boss in probably tomorrow. I believe he was out of town searching out a new supplier. A couple days at the most. Would you like us to send a runner out to you, or would you prefer to check back?" Her gaze flicking towards Erica as she offers a small grin. "Come in to get those custom grips? Or are you thinking the full conversion over? I can get to you in just a couple minutes. These two ladies are ahead of you, I'm afraid."

When she's captured by an arm around her back, Sage turns into her partner a little. She considers her partner briefly as if thinking of saying something before she glances over to see Erica. She smiles faintly, "Interesting shop, isn't it?" She asks before looking back to Nemain. "I'm not sure I have any true business right now... but I may get a light armor to modify or perhaps something else at some point."

Erica rolls her eyes and shakes her head slightly at Tirzah's jest. She nods her head towards Nemain at the question. "Wanted to talk to you about the grips. I'll just wait, not to worry." She says to Nemain before turning to look at another display case. Turning her head to Sage she shrugs her shoulders. "I guess so. Not really anything interesting to me."

Tirzah shrugs off the eye roll with a nod to Nemain. "Under a week checking back is fine, over a week better send a runner." She clarifies generally before looking to Sage and pulling them both to the side of the counter so Erica can step up. "Feeling a bit better?" She asks, concern filling her tone.

Nemain hmms, "She's right, you know. That one could turn you to stone. The one under it sends out globs of lava." She packages up the notes into an envelope and writes Tirzah's name on it. "It should realisticly be under a week to get you an answer. I do have a couple pricing orders ahead of you in the pile." Then turning back to Erica she flushes. "Alright, grips? What else were you thinking about doing to it?"

When the woman professes the store and its items aren't all that interesting, Sage decides against making any comment. She lets herself be pulled off to the side. "Hm?" She responds, as if momentarily confused by the question.

"Oh yes. I am fully recovered. Thank you for asking Tirzah. And also thank you for hunting that thing down. You helped so many people out." Erica says while giving Tirzah a soft smile before turning her attention to Nemain. "Well I'm not touching any of them, so doesn't really matter what they do. Not like they would likely work for me anyhow." She says with a shrug of her shoulders. "Well I just brought one rifle for you for now and we will see if it works well for me before bringing the rest of my stuff. Well I want custom grips, and better balancing. I wouldn't mind seeing how much you could charge me for an upgraded laser targeting system and optics for it." She says while laying the rifle case on the counter.

Tirzah nods to Erica, looking pleased that everything worked out. "And you?" She asks Sage, who is probably less likely to be so quickly recovered. "You seem a bit detached still. You want to go for some dinner?" She offers her partner, starting to move towards the door.

Nemain mmm hmms as she gets out a fresh sheet of paper. She notes down the wants first. Then reaches for the case. She glances at it, then slides it back over to Erica. "Open it please? I wouldn't want to set off the security on the case. Might damage a few things."

Sage makes a silent 'oh' as she realizes the question was directed to Erica and glances towards Erica. She smiles softly to the woman, "Its still good to see you up and around." She mentions before looking back to Tirzah. "A lot has happened recently... it can be overwhelming." She comments, "And, a nice meal would be nice." She moves with her partner.

Erica turns to Sage and offers Sage a warm smile. "Good to be up and around." She says before she quickly disables the security on the rifle case and opens it up. She turns the case around to reveal the Coalition issued C-12 Heavy Assault Laser Rifle. "Yah just a basic laser rifle. It has been pretty reliable, so I thought maybe you could make it a little more reliable I guess."

Tirzah nods, leading Sage out to let Nemain and Erica do their thing.

Nemain chuckles softly as she eyes the rifle. "I see..." She sketches out the rifle, marking down the model and make. Then starts noting in the modifications that were mentioned. "Custom grip, balancing it out to help stabilize the shot. Upgrading the optics and targetting?" She nods and slips another sheet out to lay it on the counter infront of Erica. "Place your hand here. Palm down with fingers spread, please."

Nodding faintly to Erica's comment, Sage allows herself to be lead off by her partner.

Tirzah heads out. Tirzah has left. Sage heads out. Sage has left.

Erica giggles softly to herself as she lays her hand down on the sheet of paper. "Oh ok that is easy. Now the balance and grips for sure, but I'll need a price check on the optics and targetting. As you can see I have smallish hands and all these weapons are built for bigger hands. Oh and you can reach me by radio 24hrs a day. I have one implanted."

Nemain nods as she pins your hand down and draws around it. "This is so that we can get a proper sized form to fit your hand." She releases your hand and adds the drawing of your hand to the pile. Then notes down the needs vs the wants. "Alright. I'll have to inventory what we have in hte back room vs what will be needed. Now I'll need a name and the radio frequency we can contact you on as you've requested that.

"Also if you come up with any other good modifications to make to the rifle I would be more then happy to hear what you can do." Erica says as she takes out a little notebook and writes down her name and the radio frequency. She tears off the note and hands it to Nemain. "Now how much do you need upfront?"

Nemain adds the name and number to the pile and chuckles. "Lets see if we have the stuff first. Then we'll price is and get the downpayment. Though I must warn, it'll need to be paid in full before you can pick it up. Too many IOUs left unpaid due to death in hte earlier history of the shop, I guess.”

Erica shrugs her shoulders a little surprised that she doesn't need to pay up front. "Well just contact me when you can, and I look forward to seeing your work. Hopefully I'll be able to bring you more work. And like I said if you can come up with something more to do to it just radio me."

Nemain nods as she starts sorting the papers into a neater stack, then slips them into an envelope. This is labeled and added to the half a dozen other such quotes she's written up on the last day. "I'll do that. It may be a little bit before I get back to you though. It's bene a busy day."

Erica nods her head and gives Nemain a quick smile. "Not a problem. I have another rifle so I can afford to let this one be worked on for a bit. Anything else you need from me? Otherwise maybe I'll see you at Nut and Bolt later?"

Nemain chuckles as she closes the case and slides it back across to you. "I'm not holding into that yet. You bring it back when the price is agreed on. That way if it gets lost it is not our issue."

"Oh ok." Erica says with obvious surprise. She picks up the case and lifts it from the counter. "Alright then. Just radio me when your ready for it. I hope to see you around then." She says as she makes ready to leave the shop Nemain nods and waves. "I'll do that. How soon all depends on availibility of parts and how much you want to pay."

Erica goes home. Erica has left.
