The current game time is: Sun Jan 29 02:26:17 107 PA. Kingsdale - Cali's Garage
The large garage has a small corner desk, with pieces of paper and catalogues of machine pieces on shelves against the wall. Along three of the walls, huge metal shelving units hold a variety of brown boxes, each marked with some arcane mechanics scrawl that indicates the contents. The other has two separate workstations against it, and a series of hooks and shelves, upon which tools sit, in apparently random order, behind one. The other has a large cupboard designed for paper, drawing implements and a line of tools. The workstation is designed for the drawing of schematics, and the other workstation bears the weight of half a dozen dismantled machines of varying sizes. The floor is concrete, stained with oil, with patches of sand here and there. A large tub containing sand squats beside the garage doors, a shovel sticking out of the top as if someone shoved it there after use. A row of pegs against the wall by the workstation has various coveralls, coats and other things hanging on it and a large noticeboard has a range of oil stained pieces of papers stuck to it with pins. Along the beam that runs the length of the garage, several jars have been attached with a nail through their lid. They seem to be storing small components of different sizes.
A door exits the garage, apparently allowing entrance to the upper floor by the use of a key pad.
INFO: If a PC is paying for services from this garage, please pay the credits to Caliopa, along with an @mail to explain what you paid and what for. She will then pay the employees.
Vixen comes into Cali's garage in full armor. She's been out of sight since the rumors of plague and, while word seems out that it has passed, she's not taking chances just yet. So she clumps in steadily, her head turning as she takes in the place. Perhaps looking, though for what is not readily obvious.
In contrast, Sage isn't in full armor like her expected guest. She's setting a thermos and a couple dark bottles holding some sort of liquor on a counter as if unsure which might be preferrable for this occasion. Looking up at the noises of someone arriving - since there aren't any competing noises inside - Sage notices the armored figure. "Vixen?" She asks.
"Yeah," Vixen replies, looking towards Sage after taking in the quiet garage. She lingers for a moment, then approaches casually. "So what do you want? I don't suppose anyone's found her yet?" There's an edge of ill humor in her tone as she approaches. "Or that goddamn mage. Wouldn't mind a few personal words with him." Her hand slips to her sidearm for a moment, but since he's not here, it quickly slips down again, relaxed at her side.
Nodding faintly to the response, Sage offers a small weak smile to the other woman. She gives a faint sigh as the sore spot is touched. "No one has found her as far as I know... I've tried to sense something of her fate but have only ... felt like it is being blocked rather than simply not sensing anything at the time." She lets out a breath and takes a moment to compose herself, "We might just have to accept that she is ... somewhere else and not coming back." She comments, "I'm not going to rush to sweep all memory of her aside... but she left this with me in case anything happened." She takes out a piece of paper. "It effects you."
"I don't gotta accept anything I don't want to," Vixen asserts firmly. Obviously rebelling against such a notion, even if her expression is not clear to tell the tale. She's still for a moment before she moves forward again, clumping up to take the paper. She simply reads it, reserving comment until she's taken in what it is.
"I have not fully accepted anything yet either." Sage replies more mildly, deciding she wont fight with the other woman over this matter. She'll let the other woman take her time and offers over the paper when it is time. She doesn't say anything as the other woman reads about how Cali has filled out the paperwork to make this place half her's and half Vixen's as a contigency for an unexpected event.
Vixen frowns faintly at the contents of the page, hidden by her helmet. "So? We'll just keep it til she gets back," she replies, handing the paper back towards Sage casually, as if the answer to the unasked question were simply obvious. "Don't see how it effects me any. Except for making sure some wise ass don't come through here busting anything up or cart anything off."
Sage takes the page back from the other woman with a considering look. "Then perhaps it may be best to rent the space out like Cali was thinking of doing when she realized we wouldn't let her work like she'd want when she ... became pregnant." She comments, "Would rather activity be a discouragement to breaking in than having to come here and have it as empty and quiet as the apartment I shared with her." She pauses for a moment, "Deal?"
"Cali won't like that," Vixen says simply. "Maybe she said it before, but you know she don't like no one touching her stuff." She glances around a moment. "But yeah.. I guess that'd be better. Though should probably get all the expensive stuff locked up. Won't be able to watch things all the time. Even if someone seems trusty enough for the place, better to keep watch on them." She returns her attention to Sage.
"Consider it incentive to get back here..." Sage replies, deciding to leave out the 'if' part that might be on her mind. "And, a tongue-lashing from Cali to be music to my ears besides..." She has a little fondness in her tone, before nodding to the other woman. "We'd have to lock up the expensive stuff either way... and, I think Cali had her favourite tools with her when she went to Madhaven. They almost became a gift to that... thing." She doesn't feel the need to speak the creature's name here. "And, never said we couldn't check in whenever to make sure things are on the straight and narrow."
"We're supposed to, since we're keeping things for when she gets back," Vixen replies. "Just making sure we're on the same page, here." She turns her head a little to look over the place. "I'm not as good at gear as Cali is, but I figure I can tell what should and shouldn't be open to being touched by any ole hands." She turns in a circle as she scans over the place, already starting to think along those lines. "A lot is generic, though. Nothing you can't get yourself from most parts suppliers, I think."
"You would be better at me than at figuring out what's what..." Sage says with a little amusement in her voice now. "Could always check what equipment a potential renter would want too... figure another mechanic probably has their own set of tools, so might not want to use anything aside from the stuff that makes no sense to replace." She shrugs.
"Yeah, yeah, we can do that," Vixen replies. "I figure anything that's not bolted down in terms of tools is best kept under lock and key." She turns back to Sage. "If they want something else, they can ask me. And if it turns up missing, I'll know who to shake down for it."
"Alright, I guess we have an agreement for the time being." Sage replies, "I may try speaking to a few people around the Nut and Bolt since that seems to be a hang out for the mechanic types... see what kind of interest is out there." She pauses to look at the drinks, before taking up one of the dark bottles and handing it over. "Thanks for meeting with me."
Vixen shrugs her shoulders. "Not a problem," she responds. THe bottle is eyed a moment before she reaches out to take it. Lifting it to see what it is as she adds, "Yeah.. I'll get the place in order. Lock up the good stuff. Should be done before you get someone to use the place." She lets her arm lower then and adds, "Let me know how it goes."
The bottle is just the brand of beer that Cali would usually order. Likely Sage is making sure that it gets finished up before it starts to go bad. She nods in acknowledgement to the woman's response. "Alright, sounds good." She replies, "And, I'll let you know if anything pans out, for sure.." She says before gathering up the thermos and other bottle of beer. "Take care of yourself, Vixen. I don't want any other friends disappearing on me for a while if it can be helped." She comments before she begins to get ready to head out.
