Jan 27 16:20:58 107 PA - Work, Drinks at Moe's and a chat with Tirzah
From Chronicles
Logfile from Rifts.
The current game time is: Fri Jan 27 16:20:58 107 PA. Kingsdale - Kingsdale City Museum (Garden)
Located to the east of the Library is an open garden that extends from the floor, up five stories to the skylight ceiling. The garden is forty feet across with a large, polished marble staircase circling the garden extending up to each floor. The staircase has dark, highly polished mahogany railings on both sides of the ten foot wide staircase. In the center of the garden is a fountain about ten feet across. The fountain depicts ten individuals of varying race and sex who supposedly founded the Kingsdale Library. A book placed on a pedestal is located in the center of the ten statues and spews forth water that flows past the statues feet and into the fountain pool. Marble benches circle the fountain and seem more decorative than functional. Marble paths circle the fountain and garden joining to many pleasant areas to think and enjoy the tranquility of the garden. Flowers seem in constant bloom and the hedges of the garden are said to be the healthiest and most beautiful in Kingsdale. The most striking thing about the central garden is that it is a hanging garden. Plants, flowers, and ferns line the walls extending from floor to ceiling on tiers. During the day sunlight enters the central garden filling the area with light that almost has a magical effect especially at noon when the sun is at its highest.
Players- Objects- Exits- Erica <O> Out
With winter in full swing and a number of trouble events happening recently, Sage has saught out refuge in the garden. Yet, it is not all rest and relaxation for her. She has been moving amount the different displays to trim off the dying spots that will simply drain the plants energy further. She hums softly in her work. Erica is out for a long walk now that she is feeling much stronger. Deciding to come to the garden she walks into the well lit tall garden. Right away she walks to the fountain in the center of the garden and takes a seat on the lip of the fountain. She tilts her head to watch the flow of water for a minute or two before she starts looking around and the rest of the garden.
Along with the trimming, Sage has turned plants this way and that to see about highlighting their other features that that some of them are becoming somewhat dormant. The other plants from different climates are brought to the forefront as they are more vibrant now. "There now, are we all feeling pretty enough to impress?" She muses to her plants. She is a little off the main floor, but not too hard to find for one that looks even remotely up.
Erica tilts her head back to look at all the hanging plants on the different levels. Quickly enough she spots Sage taking care of the plants. Seeing the other woman work away a warm smile curls Erica's lips. Sher takes some time to watch Sage work while she trails a hand idly through the water of the fountain, causing little ripples on the surface of the water. After a while she gets up from the lip of the fountain and walks around and up to the floor Sage is working on.
With little distract herself away from her work, Sage seems to progress along contentedly enough. It isn't until she hears someone approach the level that she works on that she glances over to see who it is. A smile coming to her features as she sees that its Erica. "Found me have you?" She asks with a light tone before beginning to make her way towards where she will be able to stand normally without having to worry about the positioning of her hands and feet.
Erica laughs softly in her little voice as she nods her head. "Well this garden is a good place to escape the woes of winter, so I thought I would take a walk here. I wasn't looking for you in paticular, but I must say I am glad to see you as always Sage." Her smile widens briefly as she looks at Sage before returning to a normal smile. She waits patiently for the other woman to get back on her proper footing. "How are the plants doing today?"
"One often finds that which they do not actively seek." Sage comments with a hint of bemusement, before she sets her feet back onto firm footing. She takes out a rag to wipe her hands off on. "It is nice to see you doing so well... and to see you, of course." She replies in kind, before glancing around to the garden. "It was easier to tell when I was able to use more of my abilities... but they seem hale enough for the most part. I'll need to treat a couple, though." She shrugsa as if that were merely common place as she looks back to Erica, "I'd ask how my patient was... but, you seemed to shoo me off quickly enough that I couldn't really call you that." She chuckles.
Erica laughs agains softly to herself as she shrugs her shoulders quickly. "Well I just didn't want to take up too much of your time, and it seemed like you needed your rest almost as badly as I needed mine. I'm sorry if you felt like I was shooing you away." She says with a little smile as she leans back against a wall. She studies on of the plants for a moment before turning back to Sage. "Why can't you use all of your abilities?"
Sage's eyes sparkle in amusement as she steps closer to Erica, "I'm only teasing... but, I suspect you had some things you wanted to do, though." She comments, before opening her arms. "Now give me a hug and I wont ask if you've already thought of the next trouble to get yourself into." She pauses a moment at the question, "Ah, yes... you wouldn't feel it in here. They've done something to make us all more... normal. I suppose after some things in the past, they didn't want to take any chances that someone would destroy something important... intentionally or otherwise with a special ability."
Erica grins widely as she steps closer to Sage and wraps her arms around the other woman. Hugging Sage tight briefly as she leans in and gives Sage a quick peck on the cheek before pulling away. "Well not like I seeked out getting sick, but I guess sometimes trouble trys to seek me out. I heard rumors about a dragon that has been tearing up the countryside. Celaeno is going out looking for the thing. Right now I'm just looking for intelligence about it. I don't know if I could tangle with a dragon." She shrugs her shoulders quickly before settling back. "Really I don't want to get into trouble." She looks around the garden for a long moment, considering it. "Well I can understand why they wouldn't want to take chances like that, but I imagine it is hard for you. Must be like wearing a blindfold or something."
Glad the other woman survived her ordeal with the flu, Sage returns the embrace as a friendly hug. Her brow raises faintly as she looks at the other woman as she didn't expect the peck. The expression is quickly changed to amusement as the other woman begins to defend how she got sick. "Mmhmmm..." She responds when the other woman claims its just for intelligence purposes right now. She steps off to the side and turns her body to be able to look out on the rest of the garden and glance over to the other woman as the need arises. "I suppose I could ask Cel about it... but I'm not sure whether I would go... I imagine there might be more to this story than innocent farmers being victimized... but, it will likely be hard to tell when it comes to a dragon. Not that I have much experiencing dealing with such as those." She pauses to purse her lips at the next comment. "Well... I suppose that is one way to look at it... or having a locked tool box without the key."
Erica rolls her eyes a little at Sage's disbelief or amusement and she leans forward against the rail in a casual manner. "Well I'm just trying to find out more for now. I'm pretty sure I can't do much to a dragon, so I don't know if I can actually help if it comes down to fighting." She gnaws her lower lip briefly before shruging her shoulders again. "But enough about me. What have you been doing? What are you planning to do?"
"I'm not sure I could do much about a dragon either... but, learning more of the situation likely wouldn't hurt." Sage comments, deciding against further teasing the woman about this particular situation. She glances over towards Erica, "I suppose trying to pretend that I have a normal life for a moment... until the next thing comes along, of course." She replies, "And, we are still on for more lessons with the knife? I think you still owe me one or two while you were sick." She comments, "I've had to practice on my own." She purses her lips briefly, "And, I have a number of things to work through yet... one may possibly effect you depending on the decisions to be made."
Erica shakes her head slowly with a bemused expression on her face. "I'm ready to go back to teaching you your knife work. Whenever you are that is." She turns around so her back is to the railing and she leans back against it. "How is the wedding planning going speaking of normality?" At the mention of something effecting her she raises an eyebrow. "What is it that may effect me? What are you working at?"
Nodding faintly, "In the next day or two perhaps? Just in case there's something else coming that wishes to become a distraction?" Sage offers with a faint smile, before she considers the question. "Well, before we visited you in the hospital that first time... I'd asked Vadania to run the ceremony since she's a shaman... there'll be certain conditions we have to meet, but I'm sure Tirzah and I can work them out. Things that need to be done in preparation and Vadania's beliefs." She comments, before considering the woman a moment more. "Well, I have to decide what to do with Cali's apartment... if I leave it, someone else will likely claim it eventually... and if I invite someone to stay there, I may have to keep up at least a token presence there. I don't imagine you'll want to stay in the hotel room forever... but, this is likely another thing to discuss with Tirzah... and possibly Vixen."
Erica giggles with her little high pitched voice as she looks up at the upper layers of the garden. "Oh that is great Vadania will run a great ceremony I'm sure. Although maybe not one that I'm used to." At the mention of the apartment she bites down on her lower lip and gnaws on it for a moment as she nods her head slowly. "Well yah the hotel room is getting a little old. I have been thinking seriously about looking for an apartment. I don't know if you would want me to take Cali's apartment though. I think people might be upset at that. Heck I don't even know where she lives."
A faint smile plays on Sage's lips, "I'm not sure what to expect either... but I have a feeling I may well have made the best choice... time will tell, though." She comments, before she gives the other woman time to mull over the topic of the apartment. She glances to the garden to avoid any pressure by gazing at the other woman. "Its in Raleigh's Retreat." She comments, "I may keep the apartment until the ceremony... and I could always show it to you to get a sense of what the apartments are like... but, I'll take your answer as a polite decline."
Erica frowns slightly at Sage as she shrugs her shoulders. "That wasn't a decline at all. If people don't mind. I could really use the apartment. It would save me a bunch of time looking around for an available place. I just don't want to step on anyone's toes." She shrugs her shoulders again quickly. "I think you made a good choice as well with Vadania, and I can't wait until the ceremony." "Alright. But, if I move out of it, you may end up getting a different one." Sage replies, "So, I'll have to discuss the situation with the others. I could still show you the apartment at some point to see if you'd like what Raleigh's have to offer even if you end up in a smaller flat or something there." She nods faintly to the comment about the ceremony. "Tirzah has suggested I sing at it too... but, I suppose I'd have to pick out a song and practice it some to have any chance of pulling it off."
"Yah I would appreciate that. I haven't really seen any apartments except for Tirzah's. If you could show me that one. I would get a better idea." Erica says with a faint smile. "Oh and you should certainly sing. I remember how lovely your voice is. You should really sing. Hmmm... I was always fond of the song Hallelujah. I think it is a really old song. I don't know if it would fit. Just an idea." She stops talking for a moment as she stretches her neck by rolling her head around. "Hey might you be in the mood for a drink?"
"I think Tirzah's has been modified a little to be slightly more glamourous than normal." Sage comments, "But, I would be happy to show it to you." She comments, before giving Erica an 'and you too' look. She purses her lips as the name of the song. "That sounds like... a religious song. I'm not sure if that'll quite mix well with what we have in mind." She shrugs faintly, before she raises a brow. She gives the garden a glance. "Well, I imagine I've put in enough hours for now... what did you have in mind?"
Erica gnaws on her lower lip for a moment before noding her head. "Yah I guess it is a little religious, so yah something else would be a bit more appropriate. Sorry." She stands up from the railing and starts walking down the stairs. "Lets go and get a drink at Moe's. I could use a beer." Stepping closer to Erica, Sage reaches out to ruffle the other woman's hair in a playful manner. "Ideas are never bad." She assures, before she moves to follow the other woman. "Moe's?" She asks, "I don't think I've been there..." She comments with a little uncertainty.
Erica laughs softly with the ruffling of her hair. She sticks out her tongue at Sage playfully before she shoos off Sage and tries to fix her hair. "Well Moe's is a bit more of an exotic bunch. Come on we will head there and you can see if you like it." She holds out her arm for Sage to take before heading off. "I see." Sage comments with some thoughtfulness. "Let me just put some stuff again and grab my coat... and we can go." She suggests, as she moves off for a brief moment before returning to head out with the other woman.
Kingsdale - Moe's Tavern
You enter the smoke filled tavern called Moe's. Music blares from an ancient looking CD Jukebox. Inside is a collection of residents of Dregtown in varying states of intoxication. Juicers, Borgs, City Rats all sitting and drinking side by sde. Of course a few skulls roll from time to time but the Large bouncer standing by the door is over 7 feet tall and looks as if he means business. The places has a musty, old smell and the decor is dingy and yellowed with time. The red carpet on the floors is well worn and the paint is peeling off the walls. Still this don't keep the locals away as Moe's is a favorite.
The long bar, booths against the wall oppostite the bar, and the tables all seem very used, yet are strong...made of some reinforced material that's sturdy enough for the angriest juicer. A vid-screen behind the bar shows the JuicerBall game and the bar is packed with patrons clamoring for a drink...ya see there ain't no waitresses at Moes.
There is a smaller room to the back with a pool table. Not many people use the pool table on the count of the group of men, a few of whick are juicers, who usually play cards in the back room. Finally of interest in the bar is the video poker machines Moe' placed for your convienance. Winnings may be redeamed at the bar. There is also a bathroom door, a back door past the pool table and stairs going up and down behind the bar.

Players- Objects- Exits- Erica <O> Out Nemain
A Friday night and the place is almost hopping. The usual assortment of Juicers, City Rats and an occational borg mill around the place. One person rather out of place is a rather bright spot in the dinge. Seated at the bar is a girl with nearly glowing white hair. Her attention on something resting on the bar infront of her which she's attacking it seems with a small probe of some kind.
Erica walks in with Sage with a soft smile on her lips. She looks around the bar with her wide eyes taking in all the sights. She leads her companion over to the bar and offers the bartender her smile before ordering a cold beer. Turning to Sage she asks. "What would you like Sage?" as she digs out a couple credits from her utility belt.
Upon entering the place with Erica, Sage glances around the place. It is perhaps just as well that she's been through so much recently that the edgier feel of the place doesn't effect her much beyond a momentary rueful look directed towards Erica. She considers the one oddity of the group briefly as well before she looks back to Erica and comes up to the bar. "Chias sweet." She decides after a brief pause, looking directly at the bartender should he tease for her selection. She begins to reach for own credit chip.
The barkeep just nods to the order and grunbles. "Another hoity-toity hot water swiller." But he does set off to start trying to put one together. Nemain glances up from her work for a moment as she hears the grumbling, "Hey! I paid you good credits for that tea." Then glances down swiftly as she catches he faint 'ping' from where her probe was. "Aww.. Branto-droppings." Then digging farther into the wiring she murmurs, "Come here you little... Ah, yes, back into place."
Erica trys to stop Sage as the other woman reaches for her credit chip. Shaking her head she says. "No I've got this not to worry." She hands over a few credits when she gets her beer and Sage gets her own drink. She turns her head to look at the girl with white hair curiously. Taking note of the probe she nods her head slowly in recognition of the device.
When the other woman moves to stop her, Sage's gaze shifts to Erica. A faint smile coming to her lips, "For a woman that wants to save up, you seem to enjoy spoiling me." She comments with a faint tease, before she gets distracted by the muttersings of the nearby white-haired woman. Watching the tinkering brings a somewhat sad expression to her features. She gives a sigh as she glances back to Erica, "That reminds me... I need to have a conversation with Vixen about the garage and what to do with it."
Nemain glanes over as the crystal ball she was tinkering with starts to produce a soft shifting of colors. The light barely difussing enough to shade the globe in dancing shades. She turns it back right side up and grins. "Better." she states almost triumphantly, before looking around the bar. Her eyes settling on the pair of women at the bar with her. "When did all the other arrive?" she asks softly as she nods towards the assorted crowd.
"Oh your right. I am so going to go broke buying you one drink at a bar. When will I ever stop my free spending days?" Erica says to Sage in an obviously sarcastic manner. She breaks down into a brief giggle before her expression turns more serious. "Well it is prime real estate it seems to me. You'll be able to find a mechanic or tech person to take it over I'm sure." At the white haired womans question Erica turns to face Nemain and raises a curious eyebrow. "Oh not to long ago. You were busy with your device." She offers before taking a sip of her cold beer.
A chuckle comes from Sage as Erica sarcastically responds to her comment before smiling. "Thank you for going broke on my account." She replies, not overly serious either. She considers the other woman's comment before nodding faintly. "Yeah, probably... but, I need to deal with a thing or two first." She comments, before looking over towards the white-haired woman. "The others may have arrived sometime ago, though." There's a reminiscent tone in her voice as if she's known someone else that's gotten rather wrapped up in work.
Nemain blinks a few times at that and ohs softly. The probe gets tucked away as she glances once more to the growing crowd. Then turning to the barkeeper. "Umm.. How long was I working on that thing?" Then answers for herself as she picks up her nearly forgotten cup of tea and takes a sip of the stone cold brew. "Long enough to be a pest." She absently scoops the glowing globe into a bag and glances around the bar again. "Now if a patrol comes around like they did in hte past, I might get out of here intact."
"Well when I'm homeless I'll just crash over on your couch." Erica tells Sage with a quick grin before raising her beer to her lips and taking a sip. She gets distracted from Sage by Nemain's odd behavior. "What patrol are you talking about there? No one really patrols around here in the dregs hon." She offers Nemain as well as a look of concern.
An amused look greets Erica's reply, but Sage doesn't keep the banter up for the time being. She picks up her own drink to sip on it lightly. She glances over towards Nemain with a thoughtful look. "If you need help getting somewhere... we might be able to." She offers, unsure of what exactly that might get them into, though.
Nemain shakes her head slightly. "No, I wouldn't want ot trouble you. And really it isn't far back to the apartment. Just having to relearn the lay of town. A lot has changed since Pop's was around I guess." She glances towards the barkeep. "Do you still keep that stash of rotgut, sir? The same stuff you used to serve up to the Sarge?" She drops a couple creds onto the bar-top. "I think I need a shot of it."
Erica licks her lips quickly nervously as she glances back to Sage briefly. "Well it isn't any trouble. We like to help. Did you just get back to town or something?" She asks, but as soon as the mention of rotgut her look of concern turns into a broad smile. "Mmm I like that stuff. Give me a shot of it as well." She says with enthusiasm as she grabs a few more credits out of her utility belt. "Ah... you've been here in the past then?" Sage asks simply, "And, it wouldn't be any trouble... but, I won't impose." She decides she's not going to wrestle a woman into submission for something that would simply be kindness. She settles into her seat before glancing over towards Erica. "Of course, depending on how this goes... might have to carry you home." She teases lightly, "And, you'd be in no condition to escort anyone."
Nemain chuckles softly as the barkeep grumbles again and steps into the back to dig out a small keg. "Nemain, if your pop's hadn't saved my life. You wouldn't even know about this stuff. And it's four creds, kid. Not the two you have out there." She fishes out the other two creds and makes a face at the barkeep. Then turns towards the offered of escort. "If you're headed past Raleigh's, I'll walk with you both. I'd not want to put you out of your way." A small smile showing as she shrugs slightly with one shoulder.
Erica laughs in her little voice as she shakes her head at Sage. "I'm not a light weight. One shot and a beer better not get me so I can't walk home, or I've got some problems indeed." She says in a teasing manner to Sage. She lays down four credits of her own next to Nemain's. Taking a long sip of her beer before setting it down on the bar she holds out her hand to introduce herself. "Well I am Erica and this is my friend Sage. It is nice to meet you."
The bartender's comments all but confirm the woman has been around here before, but Sage doesn't interject further on the matter. She nods faintly to the comment about the woman's conditions on escorting. She simply gives Erica an amused look, but doesn't play along any further for the time being. She glances back to Nemain as the introductions are made. "Nice to meet you." She offers as well.
Nemain hmms softly as she takes the pro-offered hand. She offers a small grin to Sage as she gives Erica's hand a shake. "Nemain Platt. Recently returned brat from Lazlo. Pop's used to be part of hte PD back in the heyday before well..." She gestures around the room, almost as if she means the situation about town. "It is good to meet you both as well. And thanks for the poke to draw me out of the workings."
Erica eyes Sages amused look with her own look of confusion but she quickly shrugs it away. "Oh your from Lazlo? I'm from Lazlo as well. I used to be in the defense force there." She says idly with a smile as she shakes Nemain's hand. Her attention turns back to her beer though quickly and she takes another sip.
"I've had a little practice at that kind of poking." Sage replies with a faint smile, leaving it to the other woman to decide if she wants to shake hands with her as well. She forestalls any other comments as Erica brings up a similar background. She turns her attention back to her drink for a moment while her gaze drifts between the two for a moment.
Nemain ohhs softly at the similar background. "They you were probably the main buyers of the training project for the Academy." A sheepish grin showing, "I hope none of them exploded for you." Then something about Sage's comment draws her attention back to her. "You have had others that get lost in their work as friends?" Her hand offered out to the other woman as the barkeep settles the two glasses of almost smokey amber liquid on the bar.
Erica lets out a soft 'Oooo' as she picks up a glass of the smokey liquid. She raises it to her nose and takes a sniff of it as she swirls it around. "Yah we got some of those things from the Academy. I tried to use some of then, but I found myself to be a little bit handier with just straight technology energy weapons. You know not being able to really activate them as well as most people." She says with half a mind as she takes a sip of the rotgut and lets out a sound of satisfaction.
Sage chuckles softly to herself as she hears the sheepish comment, before shaking her head a little. She does give Erica a gentle poke at the comment about not being able to activate them. "Everyone has different gifts." She comments simply, before looking Nemain and nodding faintly. "Yes, a mechanic by trade... always needed something to do..." Although the slight sad shift in her expression may suggest that something has happened. She sits at the bar with Erica to one side and Nemain seated nearby.
Nemain's brows furrow a little at the saddened expression. Then shakes her head as if loosing a thought. "Yeah, my uncle there couldn't really get into the whole merging tech with tomes either. His loss and my fun." Her fingers curling lightly around the tumbler of liquid as she lifts it slowly. "Pops. May you always be kicking the rumpus you wanted to." Then tips it back cleanly to start with. Then the gagging hits and a deep rattling cough as she wheezes, "Jeeeeeeeezzzzzzeeeeee. H-h-how can you suck down b-battery acid like this?"
Erica's smile fades for a moment as she gives Sage an affectionate and comforting pat on the shoulder. "It'll be ok." She mutters out to Sage before her smile returns. She joins Nemain in raising the glass and she takes a little sip not wanting to shoot it down. "Well it helps when you spend weeks patroling and eating ready to eat meals. Those make you able to drink or eat just about anything." She says while giggling softly to herself.
"Hey!" Spoken in a slurred voice, and there's a small commotion by the pool tables. People stand, voices raise, though words are indistinct. "Just out of nowhere," comes one, and as the bodies part to spread a little further the dark form of Ahriman looms over one shaking fellow. The suit-clad figure stands out in the small bar, charcoal over silver and black. The black being walks slowly around his charge, holding a small device with a 3D image floating in the air. It's a headshot of ... well, the man in front of him. Maybe. If he lost some weight. Ahriman leans down, peering at the shaking little fellow, and asks in a deep, rumbling sort of voice incongruous with his slim stature, "Are you sure you're not James Edison? You look like him." Ahriman holds the picture up for the young man to see.
It takes a moment for Sage to realize what Erica is reacting to before she simply nods. It is something that she will sort through in time, just not yet. She gives a faintly amused look at the Nemain responds to Erica's guzzling of the rotgut. Whether she was planning on making a comment or not gets distracted away by the ruckus that the darkling causes. Her attention shifts over, raising a brow faintly. She sips on her drink to make it seem like only a casual interest but her gaze watches the proceedings for the time being.
Nemain turns at the ruckus in back as well. A shudder still rolling through her as she did shoot the tumbler in a single go. Her hand a little shakey as seh lifts her ice cold tea and tries to force some of it past the throbbing remains of her throat. Her other hand lifting to wipe away the tears at the corners of her eyes.
Erica turns her head to look back to see what is causing the ruckus and spotting Ahriman she shakes her head in disgust and rolls her eyes. "God it is that jackass." She mutters to herself as she turns back to the bar. She raises the shot glass up to her lips and finishes off the shot. A shiver runs up and down her spine as she finishes off the harsh liquor. She closes her eyes for a moment before opening them up again and reaching for her beer to take a sip of it.
Ahriman leans a little closer to the young man, not seeming to notice as the smaller one shakes like a leaf. "Perhaps not," he decides, and flicks off the photograph. Leaning back, Ahriman rolls his shoulders back in a 'what can you gonna do?' sort of shrug, speaking more to the crowd than the individual before him. "You humans all look so alike. Well." He turns to take a step away, to a small collective sigh of those around him. The young man reaches an unsteady hand for his glass, lifting it for a much-needed draught of beer, freezing as Ahriman turns back to peer at him again closely, asking, "You're really sure?" He leans in close, sniffing, as that beer dribbles around the young man's lips to pool on the table between them. Leaning back with a grin, Ahriman decrees, "Well then. Enjoy your beer." He turns and walks away, mouth forming a tight little line as black eyes scan the crowd.
Sage reaches over to pat Erica on the shoulder this time, "I imagine this isn't the place to stir up too much trouble..." She comments softly, before returning her attention to her drink. She glances between the two women before consider the results of Ahriman's antics. She simply nods to herself as it ends and turns back to a less interested positioning.
Not having heard back from her contact since the plague Tirzah is beginning to wonder if she met some unfortunate end somewhere and thus has been spending more time about the dregs to either find the young scared girl or replace her.. Such is the norm for the bad side of town. This brings her to moes, certainly not her first choice in bars. Walking through the haze of smoke she makes her way to the bar as she tries to make out the faces of everyone around.
Nemain takes her cues from her two companions as they relax a bit with the moving of the dark man away from the gent about to wet him... eww... too late on that count. A soft sigh escaping as seh shakes her head, "Things certainly have changed." She finishes the last of hte cold tea and turns to lean her side against the bar to keep on eye on the ruckus maker still. One foot planted atop the sack she had stuffed her items into earlier. "Starting to wonder if I shouldn't have brought my armor along on this excusrion."
Erica turns her head to Sage and offers the other woman a quick smile as she nods her head in agreement. "Yah I don't think the bouncer will let him get too out of hand." She says as she peers at the titan juicer by the door. Looking at the door allows her to spot Tirzah walking in. "Don't look now Sage but your Tirzah just walked in." She says to Sage with a giggle as she points. Turning her head back to Nemain she shrugs her shoulders quickly. "Well don't worry about him. Best to just completely ignore him. Well always a good idea to wear at least some protective gear in the Dregs."
The black being sides on up to the bar, planting the image projector before him. One fingertip spins the small technological device idly as he plays with it, though as he hears Erica speak the dark being spins on his seat. Snatching the projector, he falls from the stool to stride out across the room. "Little Sister," he calls, his low voice not gaining a lot of volume but traveling well.
"As long as it doesn't catch too much attention, having protection is never a bad thing in these parts." Sage comments simply, before pauses to look around for her partner. "I don't think she'd get too mad at me for being here..." She comments as she looks to pick out her partner. The approach of the darkling draws her attention soon after with a raised brow.
Tirzah turns her gaze to the darkling's call and catches the others along the bar in the process. She raises a brow at Sage's presence here, clearly not expecting it but doesnt look perturbed. Walking up the wedges herself between the opposing mindsets as a perhaps chaotic medium. "Ahriman. Good hunting?" She asks casually before giveing a smirk to Sage has her hand seeks out that of her partner.
Nemain's lips quirk slightly as seh glances between the darkling and the new arrival who is grasping Sage's hand. One snowy brow arching as she ponders the implications there. Then turns her attention to the darkling, whom she just heard called by a name. A hint of pearly tooth showing as she nibbles at her lower lip in thought.
Erica keeps her attention towards the bar as she finishes off her bear and gestures towards the bartender for another cold beer. She spots Tirzah approach them all and she turns her head to give Tirzah a quick smile before turning back to the bar. She trys to keep her attention away from Ahriman, and smiles at the bartender when he hands her another beer.
"No," Ahriman rumbles dourly. His head tilts to the right as he stares at Tirzah. "The magi were all unsuitable. Their leader was," he pauses momentarily, "a spider. There was nothing I could work with." And apparently that's a problem. The black being stares at Tirzah, eyes narrowing.
No resistence is offered to her hand being claimed, Sage even moves her other hand to encompass her partner's hand on both side. She smiles softly to her, "We have much to discuss." She mentions before looking to Ahriman. When she realizes the hunt that is being referred to, she purses her lips briefly. "And they're all dead for that matter." She adds softly.
Tirzah shrugs with indifference allowing her hand to be fully enclosed. "Well life's a lottery they say." She comments to Ahriman before looking to Sage with a reluctant nod. "We do, I guess we cant keep avoiding the issue. How are you holding up?" She asks, zeroing in on what she conclude the majority of the needed talk to be about.
Nemain tries to respect the privacy of the pair talking. But with the other person she was talking to turned away and studiously studying her beer she can't help but overhead. Then turning towards the darkling she wets her lips and cants her head slightly as she studies him. "What was that imager I saw earlier? It looked interesting." Funny how she makes interesting sound more like, 'If you let me borrow it, I'll try not to break it too much.. Honest!' One can almost see her mind already trying to take it apart to figure out how it works.
Erica raises an eyebrow out of curiosity as Sage and Tirzah start talking together but she leans a bit away to try to give the couple a little privacy in the bar. At the mention of the spider she bites down and gnaws on her lower lip at the memory of the horrible creature. Releasing her lip she takes a long drink of her new beer to wash away the memory. She turns her head back to Nemain for conversation, but seeing her ask Ahriman for his device she frowns slightly and turns back to the bar.
Ahriman rumbles, "That wasn't the agreement," as he stares at Tirzah, though he makes no move to do anything about it. The black being peels away with a small whuff of air, eyes fastening on Nemain. Black as night, though as he stares at her they begin to silver. Like stormclouds rolling in to catch the first light of dawn. "See for yourself," he utters, dropping the small trideo viewer in front of Nemain on the counter fore sliding in to the stool beside her. The black being continues to stare, unblinkingly, and presently his lips part to loose a quiet hissing noise. Not quite language, but it sounds ... intelligent? Like it would make sense to someone.
With the shift in her expression, its easy to tell that Sage hasn't quite gotten over what happened. "I'm doing okay." She replies, squeezes her partner's hand. She lifts her free hand to grasp her drink to sip down a little more. "It still hurts a little." She adds softly, before her expression shifts to a simmering one. She turns her gaze to Ahriman, before flickering back to Tirzah. "Do you need to work this out?" She inclines her head towards Ahriman, "Or should we find a better spot to chat?"
"Both, finish your drink while I deal with this ok?" She suggests before pulling her hand back to give Ahriman her full attention. "And what exactly was the agreement if you don't mind reminding me?" She asks the darkling directly, her tone defiant of his threatening nature.
Nemain ohhs softly as she picks up the trivid viewer and starts to turn it this way and that as she examins it carfully on the outside. One hand lifting to brush back a strond of the snowy hair from her face as she cants her head and nods slightly. "I see." She lays it carefully back down on the bar and offers a small grin, "Thank you." She blusehs softly as she realizes she's drawing his attention away from Tirzah. She almost sinks into herself, "Sorry."
Erica frowns as Ahriman seems to be rather hostile. Her hand moves to her belt and close to her holster although she makes no move to draw her weapon. She turns her head to check and see if the bouncer has taken notice quickly before turning her head back to Tirzah and Ahriman. Still frowning her other hand takes her beer and toys with it for a moment before she takes her sip. Hearing Nemain's enthusiasm though makes her frown turn into a faint smile.
"Later," Ahriman rumbles as he considers Nemain. The black being frowns as she toys with the projector, and he points at one of a half dozen buttons on the device, clearly labeled with the universal 'power' symbol. "That one turns it on," he declares helpfully, in a way that screams 'and I haven't got a clue what the rest of them do.' He glances at Tirzah, then again, fastening there, and the black being blinks once, slowly. "Don't worry. She is a mage, but has just begun her journey. She isn't ... ripe, yet."
Nodding faintly to her partner's words, Sage actually drains the last of her drink in a smooth motion. Its a light enough drink that she isn't likely to wheese or cough, after all. She sets the glass aside, before settling for the moment to see what will come to pass. Her gaze shifting between the people around her. She keeps quiet for the time being.
"A mage? Interesting. I'll have to catch up with her another time. If she was ripe though it'd be no concern of mine. This is not outside my apartment door." She notes before turning back to Sage with a nod. "Nothing to be concerned about, shall we?"
Nemain nods slightly as she notes the on button and slides it back to the darkling. "Yes, that turns it off and on. It is a nicely compacted version." She blinks as she finally catches that she's being talked about. "I should hope I'm not ripe yet. I did shower before coming out." Her arms crossing as she looks almost put out byt the implication that she's stinky.
Erica relaxes after a moment and moves her hand away from her belt to her beer. She mouths the word 'ripe' with disbelief and a slight shake of her head. Raising her beer up to her lips again she takes another quick sip. Noticing she has worked through her drink pretty quick she waves down the bartender for a third.
The dark being blinks again as he eyes Nemain, staring at her again for what might be a little longer than polite. Finally he speaks, "I don't follow. My name is Ahriman." The black creature reaches a hand towards Nemain, palm out, to shake. It's hard to track his pupiless eyes, though his gaze is a tangible, meaty thing. It slides from the pale Nemain on past to Erica, and with a hint of amusement in his voice Ahriman notes, "Your friend is being uncharacteristically quiet tonight."
"I'm not sure I want to know what ripe means in this case." Sage comments, glancing at the darkling briefly before looking back to Tirzah with a smile as she slips off her seat to stand up. "Yes." She says simply, before glancing to Erica. "In case we're heading somewhere else, take care." She offers, before turning to see where she'll be off to next.
Tirzah nods and leads Sage out for a more comfortable setting, to start. "Sorry I put this off. I wasnt sure how to bring it to bear." She apologizes as they head out.
Nemain lifts a hand to wave after Sage. At least she met her. "Well, Mr. Ahriman. I am Nemain. And I do not follow when you ment about ripe either. I washed today, so shouldn't smell." Then glancing back to Erica she shrugs, "She speaks when she wishes to. We have only just met anyway."
Golden Carafe - Tirzah' Rooms
This room has a rather solid feel to it. The first sign of which being the first step onto the charcoal shaded tile floor. The type of feel a mid upper class apartment affords, the cultured slates give a nice semi gloss sheen off their dark surface. In contrast to the dark floors the walls are a pleasantly light pastel blue. Serene one might say. Both are pretty sparse in decoration. A sole lush white rug takes up the area immediatly around a queen wallbed. As opposed to pictures, mirrors hang framed on the walls, showing various tints of the red spectrum.
The furniture consists of two half circle couches around a central open fireplace. Simplistic coffee tables and fire. The bronze sconces are everywhere about the room, cradling everything from small candles to the large oil wick at the center of her small dining table. They serve as the sole light for the apartment at night. Scenting the air with a sweet sugary taste, inherent to the oil she burns. The queen wall bed spends most time folded away, making the bachelor suite much more open and inviting. Though when it is down the white and bronze silk sheets merely complement the room.
The Kitchen and bath are impressive, full in design and in commodities. Spices and herbs fill the shelves above the wracks of utensils for preparing them. The fridge is modest, adequate for a single person. Her copper cookware hangs gleaming from the ceiling rack to add to the fiery decor of the suite. Its sheen indicating she is particular about her cookware. Given her history to those who know it and her decor choice, Tirzah appears to be quite taken with the amenities of city life.
Players- Objects- Exits- Tirzah <O> Out
Opening her door for Sage Tirzah leads the way inside only to turn a the juncture to the kitchen and wait for Sage. "You're sure you want to talk about this now? I mean she was your best friend. You have time if you need it?" Following Tirzah into the apartment, Sage pauses only a moment to set aside her coat and footwear before following her partner. She huffs a breath, "No... I'm not sure... but something to loosen me up and being in your arms may be enough to talk a little about it... but, somethings came about because she was like a sister to me."
Tirzah nods, stepping up to Sage to embrace her tenderly. "I regret not having spent a great deal of time on her good side. But I think she'd be happy for you to recover quickly, even though that may be too much to ask. Where do we start?" She asks, uncertain of the parameters for her support on this unique journey.
Sage leans a little into Tirzah as she returns the embrace, before taking in the other woman's scent. "It was probably partially my fault for how things started off between you two." She gives a soft sigh, before taking a moment to consider the question. "A drink... and perhaps we can start with what's left behind since it'll likely lead to more sensitive things."
Tirzah nods, realizing Sage reluctantly to step into the kitchen and consider what drink would be best for the somber occasion. She decides on a dark tea, with a little kick, but very subtle. Immediately she sets to preparing the drinks. Deciding that she would rather be a little surprised by the drink, Sage simply decides to start wandering over towards the couch. She settles into a position where her partner can easily sit close to her. She tries to order her thoughts as she waits.
It doesnt take long for Tirzah to make the drinks, keeping things simple so as to get past this grey period a bit faster. Carrying two large mugs out she hands one to Sage before taking her seat beside her partner. "So whats ;eft behind?" She asks, to encourage Sage to begin.
Taking up the drink, Sage blows softly on the tea before taking a sip. She'll set it aside as she waits for it to cool a little. She inches herself a little closer to her partner. "There's her apartment with all her stuff... and memories..." She comments, pauses. "And, she left half of her garage to me..." She closes her eyes, "It feels wrong to move quickly on either thing... its so soon and ... she should be honored somehow..."
"We have a ritual back home when someone so dear is lost. Those of us linked to fire can create a flame that does not go out. Ever. It serves as a marker for a monument of those we wish to continue to light our lives despite their passing. If you would like, I can perform this ritual." Tirzah offers, a little wary offering her own customs for losses that are not directly hers.
Sage's eyes open as she considers her partner's offer, before seeming on the verge of making a comment. Yet, something seems to hold her back just a little it. She buys a moment by taking up her drink before partaking of its warm comfort. "I'm not sure that she has passed on." She comments after the pause, "Perhaps a small flame that can be put out when I am at peace with it... a nice picture of her if I can find once... and... her red dress?" She offers, before sighing a little to herself and taking in more tea.
Tirzah nods, giving a slight grimace at her lapse. "Of course not. I can cancel the spell to extinguish them flame if you wish, and size is open to interpretation." She explains before considering the other items. "We should make a place for them, a shelf or closet to keep them?"
"But, she's passed from her life here." Sage adds when her partner grimaces slightly as if guessing it was her comment that caused it. "Small will do... I don't want to burn anything down." She says, trying bring a little humour with only a weak result. "A shelf if you don't mind seeing it around... a closet if you'd prefer me to spend my moments in private." She offers, before downing the rest of her tea. She holds herself rigid until the warm feeling passes. Once she puts the mug down, she leans against her partner. "How long should I keep the apartment?" She asks softly.
"A shelf it is then." Tirzah agrees forwardly, offering a warm smile. "And you should keep the apartment for as long as it does not feel right to let new things trespass over that tender spot. Like a bruise, let it heal with no pressure." She suggests before considering Sage once more as another question comes to mind. "Will a service of some sort be held?"
When her partner agrees to make it a shelf, Sage wraps her arms about Tirzah. "It will be different spending time there with no one else... but, I suppose I don't have to sleep over there." She comments, unsure of how the feeling of the apartment will be like. She pauses and leans back a little. "Oh... I guess other people may need to say good-bye too." She comments, "And, I'll need to speak with Vixen too at some point."
"If you'd be more comfortable fully moving in here you know you are more than welcome to." Tirzah invites before nodding to the consideration of others. "I think the group was pretty close knit so we could hold the service here. Similar to a wake I imagine. When your ready you can give me a list of who to call and I will set it up for you." She offers, accepting the arms with a strong hug of her own in support.
When Sage realizes the implications of her words, she moves one of her hands to lightly carress her partner's cheek. "I suppose the other option would be to invite someone to stay with me at the other apartment... but, I can't think of anyone that wouldn't cause a brow to be raised." She comments, "I'll move in here fully at some point, my love." She adds, before nodding to the next comment. Once she's accepted into the other's embrace, her resolve crumbles and the tears flow. The raw emotions finding their outlet at last.
As Sage lets herself grieve in her arms Tirzah's embrace continues, rubbing her back gently before she starts humming the nameless tune that comforted her for so many years.
