The night is come and the fog is as thick as it tends to be time after time. It's been a quiet night so far, but it tends to be so in the policed areas of the city. The Retreat is quiet, as most residential areas tend to be once darkness falls. Most are either in the safety of their rooms or out carousing where the fog won't dampen their nightly spirits. Occasionally someone will come along one of the roads within the cluster of apartments, but they do so quickly and quietly, heading to their destination at pace. Most normal folk don't much like to loiter about for long.

Vixen steps out of the small building that makes up the offices for the apartment manager and staff, just finishing the fastening of her armored duster about herself. The lights are being turned off right behind her, the last potential client of the day. "A bit pricey.. but big. Could be a gamble if things don't work out," she muses aloud to no one in particular. As she's dictating this personal note, she pulls out a small case and flips it open. A brown paper hand rolled drawn out before she secrets the case back into her coat. The lighter comes next and she lingers in front of the building, hand lifted to ward off a sudden wind as she lights it up. A wrist flick and the lighter is off and placed away.

Thankfully the Deli isn't far from her apartment, allowing the pair of women to slip into the confines of the apartment confines before the darkness of night falls over the city and with it the fog. Having slips into her armor with the help of the redhead, she gets readily more quickly than normal. Soon enough, they're wandering back into the night air. "Are we supposed to be meeting those people there?"

Tirzah nods, handing Sage the next part. "Yep. Meet at the hospital at midnight. We got lots of time." She notes with a smile as she walks to the door. "So are you going to elaborate on what exactly this is going to cost me?" She teases with a smirk. "Or will that be held until you see something you really want?" She continues, not minding either way. If Sage tells her she wants something, Tirzah will get it, some how.

Vixen draws lightly on the cig, breathing the smoke out with a casual sigh. She steps away from the building, glancing around amid the fog. It cuts down visibility too well. "Dear diary, this fog sucks ass," Vixen murmurs as she makes her way forward. "On the wishlist, thermo optics.. I wonder how much a module for that would cost. One for the helmet, one for the camera. Mm.. better wait." She'll likely be easier for the two to spot first. More from the occasional glow from her cigarette than the soft personal monologue she murmurs as she walks.

"Ah..." Sage replies, to the mention of the time between now and having to meet with the others. She looks over to the redhead with a secretive smile, "I'm sure I'll think of something..." She replies softly, with a faint tease of her own. When she turns her attention away from looking at her friend, her gaze drifts until it finds another figure out and about. "I guess we aren't the only ones out..." She comments.

Tirzah shakes her head as she follows Sage outside. "Nope, even in this muck its hard to go about without running into someone around here. Its quite different from home where often if you want to find someone mobily active it takes a week long search." She jokes stepping away from her door to lead the way back to her cycle.

Things grow quiet. More than the normal quiet that a night tends to hold. The sort of quiet where the normal din of the city falls away to a perfect, silent stillness. Some might be prone to notice, others not. Either way, the silence is deafening.

Vixen cants her head slightly, picking up on the nearby voices. Familiar voices. "What are the odds.." Murmured as she pauses, letting the two come closer as she takes another draw off the cig. When they start to coalesce from the soup, she'll lift a hand to wave casually. "Fancy meeting you two here." She sweeps her arm a bit, the tip of her cig glowing softly. "Didn't expect this shit." Perhaps indicating the fog. If she's noticed the quiet, it doesn't show.

"I might be able to make it easier to tell when there are others close... just not sure when to start." Sage comments, before she offering the woman a faint smile for her story. She looks to the reporter once they get closer. "Convenient... if nothing else." She offers, without the suspicious undertones. She gives a short chuckle to the comment, "Now you know why a number of people retire early or stay in their favourite bar during the nights." Whether she's noticed the silence is hard to tell as there is some mild banter going on between them.

Tirzah smirks recognizing Vixen again. Part of her tenses with the sense of being followed by the would be radio caster but she shrugs it off. She might want to get used to attention and coincidental encounters with the press if she's going to become a guiding figure of faith. "Yeah this is the fog they're all talking about. Dont let it drive you crazy." She suggests jokingly as she grabs her helmet from her cycle and looks to Sage to see if they'll proceed on foot. She smirks at Sage while waiting for the indication. "Yep, if you want true privacy I'll show you the meditating caves back home." She offers, her expression subtly alluding to what she could show her there.

There will be a sudden pattering of feet in the fog. to one side. The low, high pitched giggle of.. something to the other side. A sound that is far from comforting in tone. Movement ahead.. behind. But not a sign of the sources, too deep into the fog to yet be glimpsed. The dead stillness remains, save for those soft sounds that seem to come from all around.. how many could there be?

"You two live here?" A casual question from Vixen. "Dropped by since I passed this place on the way.." Her talk falling off as the low sounds around them start up. her hand dipping into the pocket that holds her camera instinctively. "..the hell?" She turns, facing into one direction as she eases back a bit towards Sage and Tirzah slowly.

"I..." Sage begins to explain to the reporter as her body tenses like a deer that had caught the scent of a predator. Her helmet resting in her weapon hand, she begins to raise it towards her head to slip it on. "Trouble..." She murmurs simply, as she lets her empathic side unfurl to sense the emotions of those around her. It is the best she can do in terms of psychic radar within this fog bound environ.

Tirzah smirks, typical. "Looks like they couldn't wait and brought the party to us. Stick close and stay calm. Lets not forget that the fog can conceal us as easily as it does them. " She suggests as she puts on her helmet and considers her aide. For now she doesn't give any orders, no need to go overboard before they know what they're dealing with.

"Pretty pretties all alone in the fog," one low, slithery voice murmurs from the mist. The owner of the voice easing forward until just his silhouette is visible to the pair. A spindly humanoid form, a bit too tall and a bit too thin to seem real. "Come to play, pretties." Two more humanoid figures almost seem to collect from the fog itself, each one positioned to ring in the three females. "Come play with us.." One of the other two says this, his own voice similar, yet different compared to the first. The third, bolder than the other two, eases forward a few smooth steps, his shape becoming more defined with each one. A subtly mishapen head with only tufts of hair remaining and widened jaw give his otherwise human face an eerie, bestial air. Not to be outdone by the sharp teeth when he speaks, canines elongated. "We have so much to show you," this third states, his eyes red.

Vixen's eyes widen as the three forms make themselves known, her head turning this way and that, though the camera remains focused forward, at the third one as he moves forward to reveal himself. Itself? "Oh, holy shit.." Hissed lowly as she eases back a few more steps. More amazed than frightened, but still not taking any chances. Of course, she has yet to pull a weapon, her camera the only thing that's pointed at them. "What'd we do?"

As her hands secure the helmet in place, Sage feelings the terrible hunger through her empathic impressions of the area and the appearance of the man conjures familiar images to a time when she'd just recently arrived into the city. She whimpers a little as her hands clutch at the sides of her helmet.

Tirzah shrugs at Vixen's lack of knowledge for this situation. "I think its safe to say we should defend ourselves." She suggests, drawing on her link to charge her armor with its Armor of Ithan spell. "Lets show them what their up against eh friend." She asks her aide and it reveals itself to consider the opponents, its glowing blue eyes intense even in the fog.

The first to reveal himself shies back slightly when the new player makes itself known. "What is it?" he hisses, the indistinct silhouette of his form dropping into a low, feral crouch. The second eases to the side slowly, his own posture becoming stooped, hands extended. "Fog thing.." The third seems less bothered a hand lifting towards the three. A half dozen more forms come forth from the fog to ring him. Dogs.. they seem normal enough, though not the clean, primped pets that many own in this parts. And the low, throaty growls they emit aren't very kind. "Does not matter.. we will bathe in their blood," he declares. Which is about when something new happens. Two feet of silvered blade pushes forward through the center of his chest. None could be more surprised than he, looking down dumbly at the weapon before he howls and jerks forward, at the same time as the sword is yanked back and the dogs scatter somewhat in confusion.

Vixen catches the whole thing on video, her eyes wide as she keeps her camera centered on the third.. thing. She dips to a knee and firms her grip on the camera. "Pure gold.. one hundred percent.." Muttered lowly to herself. Any fear about the fight seems to have been washed away by the spectacle going on before her. Heck, maybe she forgot there were two other.. things out there. Possible indeed.

Feeling her knees weaken and her breath come in gulps, Sage seems on the verge of given in on her panic. Before her mind instinctively relaxes its ability to suppress her feature, making her sigh in relief. She begins to think that she should suppress her ability to feel fear from this time forward. Embarrassment comes as she wonders if her friend had noticed her moment of trouble. Her functions begin to return to normal as she reaches for her pistol. Breathing more normally to settle her breathing back into a normal rhythm.

Tirzah steps between Sage and the creatures, but smirks as one get run through. But damned if she was goona look like she needed rescuing again. Drawing from her link to sheath herself in orange flames (fiery touch 4d6 sdc) She looks to one of the other opponents. "I suggest you leave before I unleash a fire storm." And she would, just try her. Her aide however has not such inclination to warn or boast. Its directive: show the threat reason to fear. Which is why it shows no hesitation in forming three balls of lightning and hurling them at the other figure.

At this point several things happen at once. The more bold and talkative of the strange things hurtles into the fog.. presumably after whoever attacked it from behind. That element hasn't shown itself yet from the midst of the fog. The dogs scatter fully, though two of the beasts home in on the nearest target to them, which is Vixen, both charging at her. The one that has lighting balls hurled at it jerks back, but the magical electricity catches him. Though the three seem to wear nothing to guard themselves from damage, the magic does less damage to it than might be expected, though portions of the humanoid's skin are burnt and blistered painfully, provoking a sharp, grating hiss from it. The next moment it seems to dissipate into the fog around it, vanishing utterly. The third snarls harshly and leaps forward, vaulting at Sage in a bid to bear her down.

Vixen snaps out of her amazement when she gets two dogs coming at her, blinking rapidly as she lurches to rise. Instinctively she kicks at one of the dogs, which hops to the side, the other taking advantage of her distraction to snap it's jaws down on her lower left arm. ""Ahh, fuck!" she cries out, though the dogs teeth don't manage to penetrate the material itself. "Leggo!" Shouted as she tries to jerk away, but finds the dog's already got its feet set, jerking her off balance.

With her friend taking a protective position to one side of her, Sage realizes her friend had likely noticed her momentary lapse. Her attention drifts to the other side of their encircling. Her eyes lock on the creepy fellow on her side as he makes his way towards her. She begins to move one way to only see the light of Tirzah's flame moving that way and quickly shifts her motion that way. Her gaze noticing the body collide and Sage is spared from experiencing another aspect of her time fighting with those undead. She quickly dismisses the touch of trying to shoot the person that Tirzah grapples with and begins to look for another way to help the group at large.

Tirzah does indeed intercept the cretin on Sage's behalf. taking him down and pinning him in a combination of skill and luck. She'd best press her advantage though. Even though her flames appear to be less effective that they ought to be he doesnt look to be happy to be so close to her. The feeling is mutual though. "I warned you." She tisks angrily as she places her hand against his chest and unleashes a gout of flame into it. (flame lick 6d6 sdc) Meanwhile her aide turns to the dogs harrowing Vixen, sending a devastating blast of air in one's direction.

The sound of fighting can be heard in the fog. The growls of the once stabbed beast man, perhaps, snarling amid the the more subtle sounds of metal to flesh. But the sound is mere background to the conflict brewing here and now. As Vixen struggles with the dog at one side of her, the other eases in m,snapping at her whilst she kicks at it furiously, managing to keep the beast at bay. Until, that is, the wind blast comes her way. It clips the dog menacing her, it being the clearest target, flinging it up into a high, long arc. It's body broken, life snuffed before it even reaches the apex of its flight. Pity whoever it might land on. The flame lick washes over the creature below Tirzah, prompting a howl of rage. So close, the thing scratches at Tirzah's sides, the invisible armor that cloaks the young woman depleted by the hard rake. Though it's skin blackens and some of the wispy hair it has blackens and chars away, it still resists lighting up like any good, normal thing should. Meanwhile, a form coalesces from the mist behind Sage. Reaching out towards her. Spidey senses tingle!

Vixen is distracted enough that she doesn't question the sudden disappearance of the dog snapping at her, now just having the one attacked to her arm to deal with. But getting a kick in at it is no simple task, half the time spent trying to keep from being borne down. A position of decided disadvantage. But she does get a swat in at it's flank, her free arm raised, as if to guard her camera from the critter. Fortunately, the sleeve of her coat seems impregnable, even if the bard clamp of those jaws puts a strain on her through it.

The dog attacking the reporter seems to be a good place to start until the beast is handled by a gust of wind. Her senses niggle at her again as a foot scrapes on the ground behind her. Acting on instinct, the woman turns with her gaze sighted down the barrel of her laser pistol. Not being one content to slow whittling with single shots, she leaves her laser weapons on pulse mode. When her gaze falls upon the thing behind her, her apprehension finds its release in the pull of the trigger.

When Tirzah sees her opponent shred through her armor's magical enhancement she realised up close and personal is a bad idea. Drawing on her link to lift herself up into the air quickly she floats away from the menace, well out of reach. "Get Sage up here!" She yells to her aide who's compliance is unquestioned. As it lifts Sage out of reach as well. "Get out of here Vixen!" She shouts down, unable to help her yet.

While Sage gets a square hit on the beast man, she'll be dismayed to see the only thing that gets ashed is a broad circle of his ragged shirt. She gets a fanged grin before the elemental comes to claim her, the beast man snapping forward in a bid to grab some part of her. Yet all he catches is air. Meanwhile, Tirzah evades her own dance partner with ease, though the moment she starts to rise into the air, he dissipates into the mist, vanishing as did his companion. The one that missed Sage glares up at the two women. "Can't escape. The life in your bodies is ours!" Vixen will find that escape is easier said than done, the dog on her arm acting much like an anchor that drags anytime she tries to move.

"What'd ya think I'm trying to do?!" Vixen's exasperated response to Tirzah's words. The dog grinds down hard and she cries out in pain. Goddamn it!" Finally she winces and carefully swings her free arm around. Takes a certain aim to slam the heel of her palm at the dogs head rather than smashing it with her camera, but she manages to pull it off twice. It doesn't free her, but it does loosen the dog's grip a little. She hisses lowly at the wear on her arm, smashing at it again, some of the strength bled out of her attacks by the careful nature of them.

It all happens so fast for Sage. The burning away of the beasts ragged shirt. The deft shifting in preparation to move away from the beast's attack. The... lifting into the air? Her mind recalls the time that Tirzah had done this to her before. She rolls, unafraid of falling to see what's going on with the reporter. The woman's grappling with the dog making getting a shot more difficult. Her left hand gesturing as her mind reaches out to grab the woman with own telekinetic power. Perhaps the other woman will be free when the dog gets confused by its victim rising from the ground. She ignores the beast man for the time being. Tirzah mutters as their opponents dissolve into the fog. They'd just wait until she ran out of energy it'd be really easy for them. "Hand Sage to me." She orders her aide as she draws on her link for another spell. A fireball forming in her hand she unleashes it at the dog, moving at amazing speed (fireball 3d6 md) the missile is almost impossible to escape. Then indicating Sage to hold on to her she looks again to her Aide. "Lift my cycle up to us." She asks, it was time to go.

The sound from the mist stops. Whatever struggle went on out there ended. This seems to draw the attention of the one still visible on the ground. He tenses, still for several moments before a low hiss emerges and he too dissipates into the fog. The dog goes through two stages. Half hanging from Vixen's wrist as she is lifted suddenly and being burned to ash by a fire not meant to interact with soft, mortal bodies. Things grow still again, even as the elemental will go to do Tirzah's bidding.

"What.. woah!" Vixen's startled exclamation when she starts to rise up. from the ground. Though it's followed by a low hiss as, for a moment, the dog determinedly hangs on to her arm before it gets burned up. Vixen is all wide eyes, but despite this she manages to get enough wits about her to center her camera. She catches the last visible foe before he disappears, then sweeps up to get an image of the two women and the elemental. No matter what, she keeps the camera rolling.

Rasputin pages: Hey, so, uh, would there be room for me to come in at this late date? Or is it a bad time? Were it not for the situation they find themselves in, Sage might find the reporters surprise at being lifted up to be amusing. Instead, she feels a mix of relief and a little pity for the animals that were destroyed. She looks to her friend, deciding to tuck the pistol away before she begins to wrap her arms around the natural redhead. "Where should I put her down?" She asks, looking back to the reporter. The oddity of the camera pointed at them being a little puzzling.

Tirzah shakes her head, at Sage. "Bring her up to us, we'll have to take her with us." It may be tricky carrying three on a hover cycle built for one, even with spells to help, but there was no recourse. Patiently she waits for her aide to channel is powers with air to lift the vehicle up to them. "I think we'll make for the gate, tell the guards, obtain weapons." She explains, hoping the guards will be cooperative.

Unsure of how long she'll have to hold the reporter under power, Sage simply nods before simply using her mind to bring the reporter along. "I have you... just remain calm..." She says to the woman, "And, this will probably be uncomfortable but hold onto me." She finishes before turning her attention to the woman in front of her. "I have a new handgun with a clip of silver rounds in it... I was hoping to learn how to use it before something like this happened, though... I can still point and shoot it... as long as I don't do use the automatic mode." She says the last part a little sheepishly.

It's deep into the night and the Retreat has seen some action. The strange fog that has gripped the city for some time lingers, limiting visibility. Within the complex of apartments are Sage, Tirzah and Vixen. All three are currently in the air, Tir and Vixen floating with no obvious source of support, Sage being held by Tirzah. Below, an air elemental is lifting Tirzah's hovercycle upward. There is a bit of ash on the ground in places, but otherwise there are few signs of the past few minutes of struggle.

"They're gone," a voice states from the mist, lifted to be heard. From the mist comes a man. He wearing a somewhat archaic oufit with dark pants and what looks like a dark blue doublet over a wine red shirt. Though the doublet and shirt have been ripped in a few places across his chest, subtle gouges in his pale skin ignored. "You are, for the moment, safe from them," he states simply. The man holds in one hand a swoard with a silvered blade and, in his other hand, a severed and familiar bestial looking human head. "You may come down, I will not harm you."

Vixen relaxes somewhat when it seems like the attackers have gone. Though she hadn't gotten a good look at the others blinking out into the mist before. Though when a new challenger makes himself known, she twists a bit to get an angle on him with her camera. "Oh man.." Murmured lowly as she gets a load of the stained blade and head. "Fuckin' gold," she murmurs excitedly, tying to keep the camera steady despite her lack of solid ground to brace on.

Sage nods to Tirzah's comment before she pauses in her manipulation of the reporter's positioning within the air. She turns her attention to the man that has the severed head within his hands. "Well, that settles it... I'm going to start carrying some of my other new toys with all this stuff going on." She had thought that the worse thing out in the fog would have been crazed people, but it seems monsters have found their way into the mix. She turns her attention to the reporter, "Keep you feet down." She suggests, before she lets her mind place the woman onto the ground. She'll keep her power with a light hold on the woman in case she should need to snatch her back up. As for whether the woman lands in a dignified position is entirely up to her.

Seeing as the cycle is already on its way Tirzah starts it up ones it gets there and then Taxi's Sage over to the roof of her apartment. "You'll excuse me if I remain a little skeptical, her voice emits through her speakers to the stranger. Then pulling off her helmet she looks to Sage to see if she got hit at all. "You wanna stay up hear while I go check things out?" She asks her friend calmly while appraises the shredding of her leather blazer and the scaring of her armor underneath.

While out for a walk, Rasputin hears the noise coming from the Raleigh's Retreat courtyard. He carefully walks into the courtyard to investigate just exactly what is going on. He of course is dressed in his nice suit, with gloves and cane. He looks around and survey's the scene before him. The scene before him is interesting, but whats up with the dude with the sword and severed head? For now he stays quiet, hopefully unseen.

"I more than understand," the man states, his voice not cultured per se, but he seems well spoken enough. And, for the moment, he won't seem to notice Rasputin's presence. INstead, he lifts up the head that is in his hand, considering it briefly before he lets it drop. "You will want to burn this. And the body," he adds, there a coolness to how he proclaims the necessity of such things. "Unless you wish to see him again. The others.. well, there is little to be done for that now."

Vixen is half focused on her filming, but has the presence of mind to be still until she's hit the ground, which she does lightly. Despite herself, she takes a few steps back to get some room from the man with his sword and head. Never can be too careful. But she keeps her eyes on the prize, flicking her camera upward to get a shot of Tirzah and Sage up on their perch before back down towards the man, in time for his line. "Yeah.." Whispered to herself, that she's been left on the ground, closest to any potential harm not seeming to dawn on her just yet.

Depending on how far she gets taxi'd, Sage likely still has the ability to move the reporter at will. Assuming, of course, the danger happens before she would have to renew her focus. That the man seems to have killed one of the attackers seems to speak in his favour for now. "Thank you." She says simply to her friend as she's taken to safety. "I suppose I am well enough here for now." She shrugs, as she keeps most of her attention on the scene below.

Tirzah nods and rides her cycle over to the stranger. Still sheathed in flames she holds out her hand to take the head and incinerate it. "Thanks for your help." She says to the man sincerely, looking him over. "Show me to the body?" She requests, more than willing to permanently end the creatures existence.

Rasputin continues to just watch and listen. But he relaxes a little bit, now leaning on the side of a building, resting on his cane. Rasputin thinks to himself, 'What body, I didn't see a body. Oh, right, head equals a body.' He scans the area for the body. He tugs his beard slightly, but says nothing still. Though, if they burn it now, it would be hard to learn from it. Perhaps it is time to speak up. Nah, lets watch for the moment.

When Tirzah nears, she will see more than enough clues to mark the man's true nature. Pale skin, red eyes and a subtle bestial lean to his features, along with the subtle peek of elongated canines. Not so prominent as the others, but enough to both diminish and enhance his natural allure in a balancing way. He will casually punt the head towards her as she nears to tend to it and when requested, pivots to point his blade towards the location of the body. He'll also look towards Rasputin as the dwarf reveals himself, but shows no concern for yet another person being present. He seems, quite suddenly, amused, chuckling to himself as he sheathes his blade in a smooth motion. "Strange bedfellows indeed," he murmurs to himself before turning on his heel to start away with a smooth stride.

Vixen moves in when Tirzah advances on the sword wielding.. person. She gets in close, a nice, tight angle to catch the action. A broad, ever so pleased grin lingers as she keeps the small hand camera aimed towards the two, catching every word and action, though as the guy starts to walk off, she pans to keep him in focus with the camera. "That's right.. strut it Mr. TallDark," she murmurs idly.

With recent events causing her to re-assess her situation, Sage settles down into a more relaxed posture. She can only do so much from up here. Her gaze is watchful, but her mind works on how to arrange things so that she can bring more versatility here. She drums her fingers lightly on her armored knee.

Tirzah mutters and makes no move for the head. Turning her cycle towards Vixen she looks to her aide. "The being with the sword is one of the undead, destroy it." She commands the entity before moving over to collect Vixen and continue on with the original plan. "Get on." She tells the girl firmly, not wanting to waste another second here. But then she spots Rasputin. "Rasputin unless you can slay vampires with ease, I suggest vacating." Meanwhile her aide, given the order takes no delight in destroying undead, but has not qualms over it either, doing so in the most efficient manner possible it forms three more balls of lightening (ball lightning 3d6 + 1d6/lvl 4th lvl stength from the elemental) and creates an electrical field around the vampire.

Rasputin slowly pulls forth a nice looking silver revolver and takes a few steps forward. "Da, Vampires hold net fear to mine." His eyes narrow, "Da, did it being helping kill this da creature." He says the pistol not pointing at anything, well it is in line with the tall dark and creepy. Rasputin drops into a low squat as Tirzah throws the lightening field up. His pistol is still not pointing at the Vampire, but it is ready.

"Pity.." The last thing that the sword wielding creature says before he too dissipates into mist with a thought. Telegraphing your play not the smartest thing to do, but he takes advantage of it, almost as if expecting such a move by someone. By the time the energy forms, one can hardly be certain if he was caught.. can the mist escape such things if it was? Many questions, no easy answers.

Vixen is more focused on her 'work' than escaping. Not feeling much threat at all.. or at least not enough to stop her from filming. Her focus flits to Tirzah as she speaks, then back to the fading remnants of the vampire just as the field forms. Still not looking through the viewfinder to aim the recording device, she glances towards Tirzah as she makes that demand. "Depends where you're going babe." Her mood is on a high point, an air of pleased contentment tangible. Despite that she'd been attacked by dogs only moments before.

Watching the scene unfold before her, Sage blinks as the being that helped them turns into mist much like their other attackers. A strange encounter, indeed. Creeped out a little, she casts a glance around her vantage point to make sure that there isn't anything out of place. Yet, her danger sense has not gone off again yet.

Tirzah mutters, nosey reporters are one thing but suicidal reporters are something else. Regardless she couldnt really take sage and leave two behind, moronic or not. Sighing she puts her helmit back on and keys the radio to KDPD dispatch. "Mayday Mayday, This is Tirzah from Jelani's Adventures. I and 3 other civilians are under siege by at least three vampires at Raleigh's Retreat. Please respond." She'll repeat the message three times before giving up, keeping an eye for the undead reforming. As is her aide, its order still standing.

Rasputin flips his hand up and says, "Cheprtetnka Urnt," as a energy field flips around where the vampire was standing. "Da, mine dis not to kill unneeded, but net escape." The crackle of semi-transparent energy encompasses 8 foot circle around where the vampire stood. "Net," Now he raises the pistol in ready to use it, scanning left and right as he continues to walk towards where he has placed his field.

The response will come on the second call in. 'This is an official channel, lady. You'd best have something for us to see down there if you insist on making noise here. If not, there are going to be some hard questions to be answered once we send someone down there,' comes the response. The second field of energy will come into being, but there will be no obvious sign that anything has been caught yet.

Vixen arches a brow slightly at Tirzah as she makes the call out. "I thought we were leaving..?" Mildly confused, but not letting it stop her. Even as she's looking at Tir, she has her camera trained on Rasputin, capturing him as he casts the spell. "If TallDark was telling the truth, the others are gone.. doesn't seem like he was their friend."

With the night's activity seemingly coming to a close, Sage begins to rise to her feet again. "Perhaps I should see if the door leading to the stairway is locked." She says, before she begins to look around to see where the door is located. Of course, it could be locked. She isn't sure what all she can do up here for the time being.

Tirzah smirks, never so happy to hear KDPD's disgruntled responces. "Understood, there are four witnesses including myself. One of us has been filming the encounter." She plies shortly before getting off the channel and looking to Vixen. "You looked hesitant, and I wasn't about to leave Rasputin anyway. And are you really that gullible to think he didn't just kill the man in the armor, trade places, decapitate him and lie to trap me at his body?" She asks, her patience expended when she saw who the man was. Then turning back to Rasputin she gives him a concerned look. "Save your energies Rasputin, make them count." She advises while she waits for backup.

Rasputin growls in a deep feral tone, "Net! Dampires are net druug. Net comrade." He sweeps with the pistol waiting to see what is happening in the energy field. "Da, only help them persons." He looks back and forth. holding the pistol in one hand and a ball of light emerging in his other hand. This ball of light illuminates the area very brightly. Bring daylight to a 24 ft area of space around where he stands.

And are you really that gullible to think he didn't just kill the man in the archaic outfit, trade places, decapitate him and lie to trap me at his body?" She asks, her patience expended when she saw who the man was. Then turning back to Rasputin she gives him a concerned look. "Save your energies Rasputin, make them count." She advises while she waits for backup.

There is no immediate response from the police. One can wonder if someone will be sent or not. For the moment things remain quiet. Though not the same deathly quiet that came about just before the attack. Wisely, people who are in the complex seem to be remaining in their homes, despite the light show outside. Though there's no doubt some curious eyes peek from here or there.

"I do like to know where I'm going before I go," Vixen admits, her attention shifting towards Ras as he speaks. Her brow furrowed a bit as she works a little to decipher his intent. She ends up shaking her head and looking to Tirzah again. "That'd be a pretty good trick, undressing and redressing that fast," she opines. "But maybe.. then again, he didn't look nothing like those three beast face things." She glances towards the head on the ground and indicates it. though she makes a face at the disgusting thing. "Vampires, huh? What if they were fighting each other?" A thoughtful question.

As the conversation below isn't loud enough to carry up to the height that's she's found herself at, Sage wanders over towards where the door to the stairway is once she spots it. Once she's at the door, her hand circles around the handle as she checks to see if the door is locked or if it'll permit her to depart the roof. Her radio message to Tirzah will likely vary depending on the result.

Tirzah considers that, a possibility at least, even if it makes no sense to her. "Maybe, doesnt stop him from killing me." She replies simply. But curious now she dismounts and walks over to the head to look at it closer and determine if it did belong to a vampire. Though she wont burn it yet if it is, the KDPD want evidence after all. Returning to her cycle she goes to retrieve Sage, smirking slightly. "I didnt forget about you, just wanted to be sure." She notes with a smile.

Rasputin looks to Vixen, this new person in his eyes. And he just makes another deep feral sound, as he looks back and scans for the creature. He keeps looking around as he tosses the ball up in the air to illuminate the area over the energy field little more. As he releases the other, he calls fourth yet another ball of light in his hand. He pulls the hammer back on his pistol as he continues to look around the court yard.

It's late at night and the unnatural fog that covers the city each night is present and as annoyingly thick as ever. It's become obvious that the Retreat has something going on with the inclusion of several Globes of Daylight as summoned by Rasputin, covering the central area where the present stand with bright light. Though it does little to help one peer too far intot he fog. All still seems calm in the now, Ras, Tir and Vix are gathered on the ground while Sage is still on the roof of a nearby building, though not readily visible as she is away from the edge, seeking a means down. Over the next few moments, the distant sound of a siren will be heard, gradually growing louder. There's a body not too far away in the mist and the accompanying head is sitting on the ground nearby the three on the ground.

"Looked like he was leaving to me," Vixen points out, glancing towards Ras as he makes that feral sound. Her brow furrows again and she says generally, "I'm not saying I got all the answers, but it don't look real simple from my view." She glances towards where the sword wielding man was before. "Coulda done with a little time for some questions." Her expression thoughtful on the subject as Tirzah goes to retrieve Sage.

A soft smile comes to her lips when she finds that the door gives to her attempt to opening it, yet Sage doesn't fancy the idea of disappearing from the roof to let her friend wonder where she disappeared to. Being away from the edge and unsure of whether her loudspeaker would carry properly, she turns on her radio, "Tirzah, I..." She begins when she sees the woman's hovercycle approach. She turns off her radio after that. "Well... the door is open..." She offers, but walks over to her friend. "But... what do you think would be best to carry... that pistol with those silver rounds, a water pistol, that cross you gave me or... some combination of them?" She asks, not particularly wanting to walk around with the limitations she witneessed in some of her gear.

Tirzah smirks at Sage, wondering if that's a serious question. "After dark? All three, one might run out or get knocked away. During the day the cross and pistol should suffice. Might look a little odd to some to walk around with a water gun in the middle of winter." She replies, a slight tease in her tone. "I'll meet you below." Her cycle not really meant for two anyway, so she takes it back over to the head and then removes her helmet again to smile at Vixen. "Sorry, I'm a burn first ask questions later girl when it comes to the undead. But if we meet again, I'll be more open." She offers before turning to Rasputin. "Thanks for your assistance comrade, late but no complaints here." She says as she hears the sirens. Yay, disgruntled authority figures.

Rasputin tosses the new ball of light behind him and up, now spreading light out even further. He focuses a moment as he does something else, and now flips his head back and forth around the court yard looking for something. He seems to just ignore the person behind the camera for now, as he continues to look around as he walks towards the obvious decapitated body. Rasputin pages: I cast Sense Evil. 90 ft range scanning the area to see if something is still here.

While Tirzah is up checking on Sage, Vixen will go about doing some filming. Moving far enough to get a view of the body that isn't completely mist obscured, though not lingering near it. Dirty work, but someone has to do it. She'll be about done with her rounds with Tirzah returns. Her comments earn a smirk from Vixen. "I think he might not want to show if you're around, babe. But I'll be keeping an eye out." Finally she seems ready to stow the camera, discreetly disconnecting it from the cord that runs just out from her sleeve, discreetly linking it to one secreted inside of her coat pocket. She seems almost giddy despite the altercation, though as she moves her left arm, a slight twinge leads her to push back her sleeve some, inspecting the nasty looking bruise that she's sporting.

"Just making sure you haven't forgotten your teaching responsibilities..." Sage replies, "So, I'm allowed to ask silly questions." There's a mildly mischievous tone to her comment. << Guess you keeping me out of danger means I don't get to ask for anything... >> Her mental tone hold appreciation, and a hint of playful disappointment. "Alright." She comments to the other woman before opening up the door that leads to the stairwell. The question becomes whether to hoof it down the stairs the entire way or consider the alternatives.

Tirzah smirks, having won Sage's help later already, almost disappointed that Sage wouldn't come to collect later.. Patiently she waits for the police to arrive. Calmly preparing her answers to their obvious questions.

Rasputin scans the area slowly making a three hundred sixty degree scan, double checking to make sure the thing is gone. He waves his hand and the energy field fades away. He uncocks his revolver, and pokes the body making sure the silver slips over the flesh of the creature. He then holsters the pistol again, and out of hand talking to the body, "Da, Yzveenee for not noticing dat sooner, Tirzah " He squats down just slightly, and looks at the body. He mutters something in Russian to himself.

Alistair starts to back out; he isn't very useful here and getting in the way is probably not a good thing. Might as well get himself back into his building; he turns about and figuring he's got the right bearing, he starts to move back where he thinks he should be going.

Which is when a pair of police hoverbikes come cruising down into the middle of the complex, one of them descending near to where Tirzah, Ras and Vix are standing, while the other peels off and intercepts Alistair just as he's starting to back out. Both of them are fully armored and armed with a variety of conventional and specialized vampire hunting weapons. The one that lands near to the three is tallish and makes her gender obvious when she speaks, after moving off the bike. "Where are they?" The question asked quickly as she draws forward a Paladin auto-shotgun from where it rests against her back. Her helmeted head sweeps the three, looking for the direct answer to that question. Meanwhile the other one will land right in front of Alistair. "Where do you think you're going?" Asked as he makes a shooing motion to send the man back towards the others.

Vixen seems to decide her wound isn't so bad, pulling her sleeve back down with a faint shiver. Still cold out. Her eyes lift when the two hoverbikes come down, though when the woman starts asking questions, she grins and points out the nearby head. "One of 'em didn't get away." Then she spies the other hassling Alistair. "Hey, he's not doing anything!" Vixen starting to walk in that direction.

By the time that Sage comes out of the building herself, she has a disappointed air about her. The presence of the police not really drawing much of her attention beyond acknowledgement. Instead, her gaze seeks out her friend once found, she opts to speak into the woman's mind instead of disrupting the matters that play out around her. << I just heard from the library... there's been an... accident... they want me over there as soon as possible. >> She keeps her tone low, << ... it sounds like it'll be draining work... I'm sorry... I can't go tonight... >>

Tirzah shrugs, not concerned that the police arrived too late. At least they could be aware that vampires are out in the fog at night. "They took off around the time I made the call. One of them killed this one. She notes, kicking the head towards the cop. Don't ask me why." She gestures to Vixen with a wave. "Vixen there has the footage. I'm sorry that the call was too late for you to help. We couldn't tell if they took off or were just regrouping. Regardless it couldn't hurt to do a sweep of the area to see if they went looking for easier victims." She suggests, her tone calm and patient. She smiles at Sage's thoughts, kind of glad actually. Take her into the dregs after being attacked by vampires outside her apartment, she didn't think so. So that worked out perfect. She'll continue to do watver she can to help the police get things settled.

Rasputin doesn't even look up to the 'police.' Having grown up in the Dregs, he has little need or care for them. He just looks at the body and tugs his beard. He doesn't say much more at the moment. Just pokes at the head and body with his cane after standing back up. He is fairly close to the ground after all.

"Home" Says Alistair, a little startled by the hoverbike stopping next to him. He takes a step back from it, looking the thing and its occupant over. "How can I help you officer?" he asks, his brows hiking up slightly. Yes, he doesn't want to be shooed, but he won't insist too much. His head turns to look at the petite woman who's calling out in his defense.

The gathered will find that the police are on the brusque side. The tall woman a bit disappointed that there aren't any to actually kill. The man will insist that Alistair stay until the details are revealed and, through Vixen's recording of the incident, it can more or less be proven that all is well. Though they still check, with a pass of a cross taped flashlight on each person, to make sure none present are amongst the undead. "Never hurts to be sure," the man says to any complaints. Once statements are taken and the body has been promptly burned, which the two came prepared for, they'll let folk go their separate ways.

Once everything is sorted out with the police and any mental thoughts she wants to share with her redhead friend, Sage will depart the scene with the vehicle sent by the library to attend to the emergency that seems so critical.
