SAGE ALTERNATIVES

It may seem as if Gabriel has been waiting for the spa to open, as he's waiting quietly and patiently outside when the door us unlocked. He's even brushed the snow out of the way - presumably with his feet. With a morning greeting, he asks to speak to Sage on private matters.

It seems that there aren't any reservations coming up for the dining room as the man is directed towards that room where Sage seems to be enjoying a leisurely breakfast. And, her place setting seems to be rather extravagant with pieces of Pavel's custom items making it up.

A quiet 'thank you' precedes the man's short walk into the dining room. He's dressed blandly. Nothing like he's usually seen in. Not military, or casual, not ready for snow. Just work clothes that would make even a person on fire blend into the crowd. "Good morning, Sage. You look relaxed. Thanks for seeing me."

Sage takes a moment as she looks over to the man to notice his attire and offers a raised brow. "Good morning, Gabriel." She replies, before pursing her lips briefly. "I'm not sure I'd call it relaxed..." She comments softly, "But, if you were looking for a new look, you could have consulted me... I have learned something about presentation." She mentions, before making a dismissive gesture. "Anyway, what brings you by?"

Gabriel offers an odd smile. "Oh, I knew exactly what I was picking." He remains standing gently, not wanting to invite himself to a chair. "I've come here for social calls before, but your girlfriend threatens me every time I do it. So I've decided that I'd just come by on business again. You're aware of the problems in the 'Dregs with the vampire trade, et cetera?"

Sage offers a mild shrug to the man's assurance before she lifts her glass to her lips, before looking back to the man. Faint amusement entering her features. "I'm not sure I would count that one visit as every time." She replies, before setting her glass aside. She takes a breath and lets it out. "I have a little knowledge about it." She comments, "Seems Hope for Humanity had run into issues from what I've heard."

"Yes, I'm helping out the good folk, or trying to. Both directly with them, and indirectly. It's the indirectly part that I'm here about." Gabriel smiles. "Sebastien and I are working on the vampire problem, and there are very few people that he will trust or believe. You're one of them. He might be wildly wrong, but it's his belief that you're from southwest vampire country." An eyebrow rises. "Apparently you speak Spanish?"

Sage raises a brow faintly to the indirect part, before it fades away with the mention of vampires. "I guess that's comforting." She replies with a little humour at the mention of Sebastien's view of her. "I think I've spoke with at least one person that's been in such a region." She adds, before pausing. When she speaks again, her voice has shifted to the other language. "Sí, hablo español. Y qué?"

The man in the rum shrugs sadly. "I used to speak it like a native, but my travel has taken it from my, like so many other things. Thanks?" Gabriel glances at the place settings as he thinks. "I have a few specific questions, but if there's more than you can fill in, that would be wonderful. Vampires. During the daylight hours, they must sleep, yes? Even if they're in the deepest, darkest cave, they must sleep while the sun is up?"

"No matter." Sage replies as she reverts back to the language that the man understands. She lets out a breath, "I am not much of expert on the subject." She comments, "I think I know others that might be of more help with specifics than myself."

Gabriel smiles, but tosses it off with a wave. "Thank you, I'd be happy to get a few names." He takes a few steps, pauses.. then turns back. "Your psychic things." He circles his head as if little cartoon birds were flying around it. "I've heard of people doing this. Can you... send out.. eyes. Your soul. Something like that. To take a look around? I've done everything possible that I can do with technology. Even some very exotic things that have left my wallet empty. Unfortunately," a hand flops out, palm up, "I haven't seen everything that I'd like to see, and I can't think of any other way to do it."

"I imagine Leonard would have some knowledge. Rasputin, perhaps." Sage offers, "If you know someone that lives in the Dregs, they might know how to avoid them." She comments, "Valeriya seems to be knowledgeable as well." She adds, before pausing to consider the next question. She quirks a brow, "Oh..." She replies, "I think I might know what you're talking about..." She decides after that thoughtful pause. "What sort of thing would you be looking for?"

A light bulb seems to go on in Gabriel's mind when Rasputin's name is brought up, as if he were mentally smacking himself for not thinking of the other man himself. "Ah.. well, answers. But what can you do? Just to keep me from boring you with things that are impossible to accomplish."

Sage takes a moment to considers the question, "More than you might easily understand." She replies, "But, I can project myself to be somewhere else." She comments, "If that is what you mean by sending out eyes. It has its dangers from what I understand." She adds, "I have grown much in being able to sense things."

Gabriel nods, watching Sage's eyes with his own as he listens. "I'm sure it has its dangers. Life is full of dangers, it seems to be an inescapable part of the human condition." A quiet pause is allowed. "I need someone to find the vampire lair, ultimately. That would be the big payoff. Before that, I need eyes in the basement of the club. I'm certain that there must be some kind of concealed passage to another... hideout. I say this because I have a very reliable asset who tells me that none of the staff - human and vampire alike - ever leave the club. Ever. I also know that the cleaning staff enters every day - and no one is there. So, since I want to kill the master, it would clearly be best to do it in the daytime, as the vampires slumber." He makes a clicking sound with his cheek. "But knowing ahead of time where to go and what to expect would make it easier - and save my life, and the lives of others involved. Those who you may have heard are involved are simply decoys. It's good people at stake."

Sage considers the man, taking up a finger food to nibble on while the man explains what he's looking to learn. "Then, during the day would be the best time to ... snoop about as it were?" She asks simply after hearing the man out.

"Yes, assuming that I'm right about their need to sleep when the sun's up, even if they're out of the light. It would be the most obvious, as well. You'll either see someone, or you won't." Gabriel pauses to clarify, "No need to try to sort from civilians and the enemy. If you've found vampires, if you've found humans guarding them? You've found what I need." He smiles very hopefully. Clearly a lot of homework has gone into this.

Sage purses her lips, "I could try to take a peek into the club. I presume its the Lady we're speaking about." She comments, figuring it better to confirm than assume. "And, I hope for your sake, you're prepared for whatever fight you're getting yourself into should I find something."

Gabriel can't help but chuckle. "I do too! The best that I - all of us involved - can do is be as prepared as we can for what we know to expect. Then double it, to account for the things we're unaware of. This isn't my first dance, Sage. It's just the first one that involves going into the lair of beasts who are already dead, to re-kill them in very specific ways because they're immune to all others. Guarded by men and women who can throw energy and mental power at me that I don't understand. Wearing armor that a tank cannon of my day wouldn't crack." He points to one of his host's finger foods. "However, as with food, the same rules apply. Everything gets chewed the same, you just have to be ready not to wince at the taste." A moment is left silent. "Do you need.. doorways? Or can you just go through stuff. Or see through. Whatever it is that you can do."

"From what I've noticed so far... being projected elsewhere means you can break some of the physical rules..." She comments, "Kind of like a pass to go wherever or however you like." She comments, "There is more to it than that, but the biggest limitation will be time itself."

Gabriel still listens, trying to understand. "How do you mean? Time as in how long you can... do whatever you do? Or time to do it before action needs to be taken?"

"I can not maintain it indefinitely." Sage replies simply, "I imagine it has to do with making sure the spirit and body do not drift apart to the detriment of both. There may be another explanation, though."

"Oh. So it is the spirit leaving the body. I imagine you're not going to be up and walking around?" Gabriel's eyebrow rises. "I can watch over you while your other self is indisposed. What can I do to make it as long as possible? Of course, you may see something right away and be back for tea before I get comfortable."

"I am not sure... but it is one possibility." Sage replies before shrugging faintly, "I have not had much need to use the ability." She pauses briefly, "I could probably begin from the safety upstairs... it wouldn't take too long to get to the place." She comments, "And, no, I likely wouldn't be wandering about while I do it."

"Mmmhmm." Gabriel finally reaches for a chair pulls it out, and seats himself. A small note pad, barely the size of a three-by-five card is removed from a pocket, along with a basic wooden pencil obviously sharpened by blade rather than a proper sharpener. He takes about a minute to make a line sketch, then tear off that piece of paper and hand it across to Sage. "A basic layout. Unfortunately, I can't tell you where the entry to the basement is, but I think that I can get it for you before you... take off? There are rooms here -" he indicates them with the tip of graphite "- that I believe I'll have information about, but if I don't, those would be targets as well."

Sage hms and nods, "If you are still gathering information, I can always await your word to proceed with this." She comments, "As for the basement, I don't really need to find the entrance to get down there. It would only be for your benefit that I could try to locate it." She says simply, before she turns her attention to the drawing.

"Please, the sooner you gather your information, the better I'll know where to direct my efforts," Gabriel says quickly. "If there's anything you need, I can try to get it for you. But time is of the essence; the problem only continues to get worse."

Sage hms and nods, "I am not sure I will be able to do a thorough scouting with a single visit." She replies, "So, I may simply focus on the most important things the first trip." She adds, before letting out a soft sigh. "Remind me to give you a large task one of these days." She comments, then begins to gather her breakfast dishes together. "I will make an attempt soon then."

"Great," Gabriel says, rising and placing the chair exactly where it had been. "Let me know when, so that I can be here to watch over you. I'm sure that Ruby will take care of it, but I wouldn't feel right if I weren't looking over a soldier while she was on a mission."
