From Chronicles
Early evening and the silver fork is busy as usual. Family and high class dining in full swing. The fog doesn't seem to hamper the restaurant industry too early in the evening, it actually helps it, discouraging after work trips to shop and then go home and cook and endure the stress. Instead one can be carefree and go out, eat and return home before such matters become a concern. Tirzah is not concerned regardless, not about that. She is talking to a hostess at the hostess' desk, apparently arranging something very concerning to her from her expression at a distance.
"Ain't been t'here b'fore, but heard some talkin'. Might be a good place t'have a bite," Vyvian is saying as she leads Jax into the place. The cold outside has sharpened, but inside the chill can be forgotten and Vyvy is quick to do just that, having removed her cloak by the time they've entered the Fork itself. They are, of course, stopped at the front, the no weapons policy being firmly enforced here. So after handing over her cloak, the big axe and smaller weapons/tools that hang from her belt are passed over without much hesitation on her part.
Jaxain looks over Vyvian's shoulder as she pauses to disarm and discloak, his eyes wide and his nostrils flared. "Geeze, I totally didn't realized how damn hungry I am." He mutters to himself as he waves to quickly get the attendants attention so he can hand his coat over and get at the food faster. He doesn't seem to have any weapons, but he might be trying to hide some in his baggy pants (his shirt doesn't hide much...).
The arrangments seem to be going well for Tirzah though. The hostess seems quite pleased to help her and ensure that she chooses the Silver Fork for her special occasion. She does shoot the gentleman waiting for her service a calming smile to illustrate that he need only be patient and she will be right with him after helping the red haired girl in the white gown. Penciling in Tirzah's reservation for the 14th she smiles and leads Tirzah to the table that will serve on the date. Tirzah nods and looks over the mostly enclosed booth, noting the privates speakers and candles with a smile. "This will do nicely." She tells the hostess as she takes a seat there to get a better feel. "Please proceed with the samplings you offered." Tirzah asks the hostess and she smiles and tells the patron that her server will be by with the first round shortly.
Vyvian glances towards Jax with a soft amusement visible. "Relax, honey. Ain't t'be too much longer now." Once they're done, they move up to the waiting space whilst the man ahead of them is being led off by that server. She pauses to peer carefully at the sign that's there. Takes her a few to decipher the writing, though she glances back towards her companion then to muse aloud, "Guess we gotta wait t'get shown where t'sit?" Not entirely sure how things work in a place like this, though the sign says as much.
Jaxain glances at the sign and sighs, "Hey, can we get a table? I'm freaking starving!" He calls out to the server, giving her a charming smile along with the words make sure they do not offend. He turns to Vyvian and says in a voice just a bit too loud for the indoor setting, "You know, I haven't had anything to eat except what I could catch for the last two weeks. I really really want a steak. Do you know if they have steak here?" He then turns to the poor woman at the counter again, "Hey, do you guys have steak here?"
Tirzah shoots a glare at the man making a scene back at the foyer. His disturbance drawing her brief notice. But disregarding him and hoping things are calmer on the actual date she peruses the menu and tries to put herself in the right frame of mind. She absently considers music selections while she coordinates tates palettes in her mind. it all had to be perfect, no detail overlooked in the slightest.
"Hush now, ain't good t'be makin' such a fuss," Vyvian chides Jax softly. The server still looks annoyed, but comes over nonetheless after making sure the man is set. It'll be about then that, glancing about, Vyvian will come to notice Tirzah. A fluke considering her usual sensory haze. Thus before the server can start asking the standard questions, Vyvian interrupts, saying, "Can y'get us settled over there?" She points right at Tirzah's romantic booth, giving the server a broad, warm and toothy grin. "Got a friend there. Makes for better eatin'." Unknowing of the specialness, the server shrugs and motions for the two to follow her. Which Vyvian does, her tail happily asway in her wake.
Jaxain seems to realize how he was acting and lowers his voice, "Yeah, happens to me sometimes when I am out hunting too long by myself, I forget how city folk live." He looks at the server and says, "Sorry about that." accompanied by another dazzling smile. The server isn't overly impressed, but she does nod in return and finally reply. "Yes, we do have steaks sir. I will get you set up with a menu shortly." With that, Jax happily follows the lizard woman to the table. "Who is this friend o yours?"
Tirzah is still undecided on most of it when her server comes by with three selections of wine, a white a red, a blush, and a pitcher of water. Setting them out on the table she smiles at Tirzah and asks how the redhead is fairing with her decisions. "I'm still mulling things over. Could you bring me the appetizer sampling for now?" The server nods with a smile and moves on to see to the drink requests at the next table.
And not a moment or two later, another server comes up leading Vyvian and Jax up to the side of Tirzah's booth. "That's Tirzah. A nice enough one an' interestin'," she can be heard to say as they draw near. her own voice is given a more indoor but not overly discreet volume. Nothing to hide here. And once at the edge of the table, she gives Tirzah another of her broad grins. "Hey there, honey. Saw ya over here all to your lonesome, though mebbe it'd be nice t'share a bite." She jerks a thumb over her shoulder. "This here's Jax. If y'ain't heard yet, he's hungry." A casual amusement accompanying the jab.
Jaxain smirks at Vyvian as she jibes him, smiling at the joke, "Hey there Tirzah, nice ta meet ya!" He offers her a short bow, "Back home they call me Snow Man, but here I guess I'm just plain ol' Jax." He looks at the server, his experession slightly pained, "So, ah, can I like get a menu now, pleas?" Just then his stomach growls, and not very quietly. Tirzah looks to Vyvian and then Jax and considers. She wasnt expecting company for this. But maybe they could help her decide on some of the details.
Tirzah looks to Vyvian and then Jax and considers. She wasn't expecting company for this. But maybe they could help her decide on some of the details. "Hello Vyvian, Jax. Sure you can join, I'm just seeing if this establishment is adequate for a special occasion with a good friend." She offers, moving over before she takes a sip of the blush to consider it.
Vyvian bobs her head in a nod and, with a little shift of her tail along her side to get it out of the way, carefully slips her way into Tirzah's side of the booth. "Thanks, honey. Y'got somethin' planned, is it? For that.. uhh, heart day thing comin' up?" Less than a month to go on that special day, though Vyvian seems a bit uncertain on the subject of it.
Jaxain slips into place after Vyvian. He looks travel stained and road dirty, but he does take care of his appearance and his hands and face are fairly clean. Best of all though, he doesn't smell bad, which is a major bonus when about to eat. "Ok... umm..." he says as he peruses the menu quickly. "Hey, I don't see the steak here!" He says to the departing server, who rolls her eyes and turns around. "Its on the back side, sir." Jax pauses and then flips the menu over. "Oh yeah! Ok, thanks man."
Tirzah gives Jax an appraising look. He may be a display of physical perfection. But his personality seems quite flawed. Unimpressed she shrugs and turns to Vyvian with a warm smile. Yep hoping to make it real significant if I can. Kind of a milestone for us I guess." She replies before perusing her menu some more. Moments later her server returns with the appetizer samples and she tries a potato skin thoughtfully.
Vyvian considers one of the menus left, picking it up to have a look for herself. As she does, her brow furrows and it would be obvious to any who pay attention that reading isn't an easy thing for her. But she does start to inspect the offerings as displayed. "Awful lotta food they got here," she murmurs thoughtfully. She then looks towards Tirzah and her head bobs again. "You an' that fella then?" She pauses, the name having escaped her over time. "Was all in silver b'fore. When we was at The Alibi." Of course, when food is brought to them without her needing to order, she seems quite pleased. And isn't adverse to sampling a bit herself. "Ain't these odd lookin' things," she narrates as she goes to pick one out herself. Actually ordering more doesn't seem to occur to her at that point as she lays the menu down.
Jaxain is indeed not the very model of a modern major-general, though he does know how to look good. He begins humming quietly to himself as he persues the steak selection, to the tune of Nirvana's Rape Me. His selectoin finally made, he puts the menu down and looks at the woman across from him, "Oh, like an anniversary? Thats awful nice if you to do that for him. Lucky guy!" He turns and waves to get the servers attention.
Tirzah just snickers at both there assumptions. "No Sebastien and I went seperate ways about a month ago. We were too different in ideals. but it was convenient because right about that time I found another person who is turning out to be a much closer fit. We keep sharing more and more, and I want to take her out to show her my appreciation for her feelings." She explains openly before trying some calamari and the white wine.
Now, as far as reactions go, Vyvian's says something about her through it's lack of extreme edge. "Is that so? Good y'didn't go along that way too far then, honey. But ain't that the story of such things? Y'almost never get t'the end the first time y'do somethin'. But y'just gotta keep to it 'til y'do." She bobs her head. That Tir said 'she' doesn't even seem to bother her. "Good t'hear y'ain't given nothin' up." She seems to like the potato skins as it gets eaten without much negative say so. As do a few pieces of the calamari. THe server comes over to take Jax's order about then, doing so with a brusque efficiency. Things are getting a bit busier.
Jaxain nods at Tirzah's words, but doesn't seem to actually be listening too closley as he is watching for the waitress to return. Humans evolved with survival traits, and right now the higest survival priority for him is food. The stomach is doing the thinking tonite! "Well good for you, out with the old and all that." Suddenly his head snaps to face Tirzah, "Wait, she?" Just then the server arrives and grabs his attention again, and he gives his order. 4 Steaks, rare, medium, cooked, and bloody. As he turns back he tries lamely to cover his previous outburst, "Oh, so you are dating another girl? Thats cool."
Tirzah shrugs, not really thinking there is much of an issue in which gender the person she takes a liking to is. "Girls, men, I'm not looking to reproduce right now so what difference does it make. We care for one another, thats enough for me." She states her point calmly, just so there's no confusion. Then she tries the seafood dip with the fancy crackers and moans slightly in approval. Definitely that one, with the blush.
"Ain't nothin' wrong with it," Vyvian agrees, her interest drawn to the crackers and dip. Though she only eyes it for now, sticking with the calamari for now. "Too young t'be settlin' down, I'm thinkin'. Lotta years for that sorta thing. S'how I'm feelin' too, y'lknow. Was a few males back with my kin thinkin' mebbe they'd draw ole Vyvy. Then got sent here, so that there worked well enough t'avoid havin' t'say no t'the lot of 'em."
Jaxain nods along with the women, his attention now more on the conversation since the instinct to procure food has been satisfied. "Yeah, totally. I don't know if I ever want kids, and if I do won't be till I'm really old, like thirty something maybe. You gotta play the field, enjoy life while you can and stuff. It's a pretty nasty world out there, know what I mean?" He eyes Tirzah briefly before venturing to try a chip with some of the dip, "Man, thats freaking awesome!"
Tirzah nods in agreement, the seafood dip was a definite win for part of her selection. Pulling out a notepad she writes it down along with the label information for the blush before flagging down her server. "I think I'm ready for the ceasar salad now please." She asks and the server nods, departing to bring her the starter portion of the fine salad liked by most peoples."
Vyvian is curious enough to try the dip, though first thing she has to inspect one of the crackers. Picking it up and giving it a light sniff before she glances at Tirzah. "So who is this one y'got your eye to? Don't know too many folk 'bout here.. well, I'm always talkin' t'folks, but y'know, talk t'tem folk a day an' y'might be lucky enough t'remember one of 'em at the end." Her grin returning as she tries the plain cracker, not finding the odd food objectionable in the end.
Jaxain listens quietly to the conversation at hand, though not too quietly. He starts humming softly to himself again, drumming gently against the table top with his two index fingers. At least he is humming in tune, even though the song is most likely unfamiliar to any who hear it. He glances over his shoulder every few dozen seconds.
While waiting for the salad Tirzah looks to Jax again, curious about his origins. "So what brings you to this apparently perpetually doomed city Jax?" She asks boldly with a mischievous tone. Cant say its been much of a tourist draw of late, with the fog and all." She notes for emphasis.
Tirzah shoots Vyvian a sly look. "She's shy, and doesn't want to tell people just yet. Though I think she's living a bit of a fantasy given how much time we spend together. People are bound to notice, but her feelings come first, so i wont tell." She explains. The looking to Jax with a curious expression while she wists for her salad she reconsiders him. "So what brings you to our apparently perpetually doomed city Jax?" She asks in a mischievous tone. "Doenst seem like much of a tourist draw with the fog and all." She notes for emphasis.
Jaxain perks up as his name is mentioned, "Huh? Oh, yeah, I was totally supposed to come here with a carvan, but we got seperated on the road and I finished the trip on my own. Guess I am just waiting for them now..." He shrugs, perhaps a bit disturbed they they didn't beat him here. "And I just heard about that fog thing! So it, like, possess people or something?" He leans forward, intersted in the topic.
"Oh, well, that's alright, honey. Ole Vyvy ain't one t'pry none when folks like a bit of privacy," Vyvian replies to Tirzah, picking out a few more crackers into one palm before she takes a careful sampling of the seafood dip. "Ain't that interestin'?" she says of it, seeming pleased enough. Indeed, she gets a goodly scoop of it with each of the other crackers she has, digging up more than is normal with each one. But she does eat what she takes. When talk of the fog comes up, Vyvian pauses her eating to glance between the two. "Heard some folk go a bit wrong in the head with it.. ain't felt odd yet m'self, so I dunno. But folk do talk a bit."
Tirzah shrugs, numb to the fog at this point. "Jelani has been doing tours in it for the rich folk, a sadistic means to make more money. He's a good business man, but a little out there in terms of sense. So working for him as a guide I've been out on a few forays about town in the night. From what I can tell those of weak personality tend to lose grasp of their sensibilities in it. Raving and violent, but pretty easily deterred if you're prepared or in a group." She explains casually as her salad arrives, an impressive serving size for a starter. Smelling strongly of garlic and the fresh bacon bits it does look inviting, so she doesn't hesitate to dig in.
Jaxain raises an eyebrow as he listens, "Raving and voiolent, and when you say deterred do you mean calmed down, or do you mean killed or rendered unconscience?" He seems like a different man now, even his hunger forgotten as he focuses on something which he clearly seems to think is something he needs to know about. "And do they ever speak in languages they shouldn't know while ranting?"
"Most folk I'm hearin' talk 'bout it tend t'have them stories endin' with someone dead," Vyvian says, her buoyant mood dipping some. Enough that, while she does eye the salad, she doesn't look to dig into it at once. "Ain't run inta one m'self, but I dunno.. hopin' mebbe if I do, won't have to do no killin'. Ain't somethin' that's good t'be doin' unless y'gotta." She then shakes her head a little at Jax. "Most folk that talk 'bout it don't say much detail. Must be pretty scary t'have someone not actin' right."
Tirzah gives Jax a cold glair at that lack of understanding. "Killing someone not in their right mind is always a last resort for us. They are easily deterred in that if its clear they will be subdued, which is easy enough for me, they look for easier victims. And from what I saw, they don't say much at all." She explains blandly.
Jaxain nods, taking the information in. He raises his eyebrow at Tirzah and returns her glare with snort, "Hey, jump to conclusions much? I've dealth with demonic possession before, and unless you have an exorcist handy it usually ends with a fatality. So I'm just asking if that was the case, or if they can actually be calmed down and reasoned with. It's a pretty important distinction actually." He frowns, "And I would personally subdue them rather than unleash allow them to roam free and attack the defenseless." He seems to be taking this topic very seriously. Much like someone talking about thier job might seem.
"Mebbe y'should try and catch 'em, honey. Shooin' em off.. that just means someone else might be hurt. Mebbe if we could be gettin' some of 'em, we could.. I dunno, fix 'em.. or somethin'." A good enough idea, she seems to think, even if she hasn't got the whole thing planned out fully yet. " She shakes her head a little. "Dunno much 'bout what kinda thing it is, but just lettin' 'em run 'round ain't helpin' nothin'." She leans back a little in the booth, thoughtful on that point.
Tirzah smirks at Jax in reply to that. "You might wanna go check out KDPD then, they could use someone with a decent attitude. I however have neither the authority or resources to babysit everyone that goes crazy after dark. Just what am I supposed to do to keep a couple hundred people inline? I'm paid to protect our clients as discretely as is feasible. And really that's all that can be expected. You think they ought to be rounded up? I don't disagree, but I simple dont have the resources." She explains flatly, her tone warming a bit with Vivy adds to it.
Eyebrows climbing again, Jax says, "Hundreds? Hundreds of them at a time?" He is silent for a moment, "No, that isn't likely to be any kind of possession then, but a mind control." He smiles at Tirzah, "I have no problem working with the law, but I'd never join it. Too many restrictions and too much politics to actually get anything done." He looks at Vyvian, "I'll have to go look into this after we finish eating. And I'd certainly not mind your company, as your talents could come in immensley helpful." He gives Vyvian a signature charming smile.
Vyvian shakes her head a little and says, "Ain't sayin' just that now, honey," she notes to Tir. "Mebbe them KEC folks might help.. or them KDPD folks. Ain't too sure just who t'give 'em to, but don't seem right that no one's tryin' t'see if mebbe them folks can get helped. Sad t'think what it might be like, y'know? What if ya got all.. messed up by that fog an' no one was thinkin' 'bout tryin' t'help ya." She shakes her head, seeming to find the image far too sad as it keeps her mood in a steady dip for the moment. Though she does rouse enough to say, "Ain't no count I heard b'fore. But there's a lotta folk here. Hard t'say since some places, liek the Dregs, always got people doin' bad things. Hard t'tell when y'hear folk talkin' 'bout one of them poor folk or talkin' 'bout someone that ain't sick in the same way." The smile seems to raise her spirits back up again, though and she grins at Jax. "I'm thinkin' t'see what's t'be done with 'em first. Ain't much help t'grab one of them folk if we ain't got nowhere for 'em."
Tirzah shakes her head at Jax as she's misunderstood again. "Not a group of hundreds, hundreds city wide. There are tens of thousands of people in this city and anyone out in the fog without a strong grip on reality is likely to loose it completely. Until morning anyway. And that's the just of it, people seem to regain their sense after being out of the fog for a bit, so the best thing to do is just avoid the confrontation with those affected. Want a solution? Look into the source of the fog and the dreams accompanying it. Trying to round up all the affected to put them in the drunk tank while exposing yourself to the same conditions. Well its not a healthy game plan." She explains patiently. Jaxain seems surprised at Vyvian and then at Tirzah for a moment and blinks them a few times before he grasps what she is saying, "Oh, man" he says, barking a laugh, "I'm so totally not used to being unknown like this." He stands up, nearly bumping into a server who is walking behind his chair, "Jaxain Mithras, professional boarder, actor, monster hunter and exorcist, at your service." And with that, he sweeps a bow. "Personally, I usually take cases like this to myself to get more information. And in this case I'd reccomend to myself to capture some of the effected and examin them for clues to start the investigation." He winks at both Vivy and Tir, smiling as he sits back down. "No, where are my steaks!"
Vyvian blinks twice at Jax as he stands up and introduces himself more formally. The lightly befuddled lizard woman glances at Tirzah after, then back towards the man himself. "Well, if y'seen t'stuff like this b'fore, that'd be a help for sure." She grins, her mood already rising up once more. Though she does ask Tir, "Y'sure 'bout them bein' ok later? Ain't seen none of that for m'self, so can't really say. Y'seen some folks get better after?"
Tirzah considers Vyvian as she thinks over what she knows and what she's heard she shakes her head. "No I don't know for sure, but if they don't where do they go to stop being a nuisance during the day? More troublesome if they don't we have a daily escalating number of crazy people out there." She nots before turning to consider Jaxain as she finishes her salad. "I'm a warlock so I have a fair bit of experience with entities from another plain. I'm quite certain they are not involved in this. But if you wanna go out and catch one to be sure one night I could facilitate that. Maybe you could find out something useful." She offers with a slight smile as the server comes with his steak and takes her Salad plate. "I'll try the venison now, could I get a sample of both the wild rice and the roasted red potatoes?" She asks and the server gives a curt nod.
And, the moment of truth arrives with an internalized chorus of angles singing and thunder thumping in the heavens. Steak. Or to be more accurate, for steaks, on for plates with four side dishes ranging from baked potaotes to fries to salad. "By the gods!" Jaxain exclaims as he digs in ravenously, "This is amazing!" he turns to the server and says around a mouthful of partly chewed food, "I love you!" As she shakes her head with a smile. He may be rough and un-mannered, but Jax does have a certain charm about him at times. "Ok," He says between bites, "So I'd like to go out as soon as possible, and sure I'd love help from both of you for crowd control. If we find a group, I'd like to contain them so we can study them and I can perform a few examinations and tests I am familiar with to rule out causes for the insanity. With luck, we will get a break and have a solid trail to follow by the end of the night." Chew chew, slurp, gulp gulp. He eats like a man who has eaten mostly whatever he can scroung for the last two weeks because, well, thats exactly what he is.
Vyvian considers Tirzah's for a good length before she murmurs, "Guess y'might be right. If it ain't that, mebbe they ain't too fond of the light." Pure guesswork, of course, but it could make sense. She hasn't eyes for the food any longer, though as Tirzah introduces herself, she considers the two of them before chiming in, "Ain't nothin' all that special 'bout me. Just got my ways. Ain't too much for fightin', but I can take care of m'self. S'how I've always been, y'know? I'm thinkin' we'd just want t'get one first off. Since we ain't got nowhere t'keep 'em. Mebbe can see if the fella gets better with the sun. Would be nice t'be that way at least."
Tirzah nods, considering it all. "We can do it tomorrow or the next day. I'll bring Sage, she's got psychic healing talent so she might have some insight as well. Capturing them is easy enough for me, bring environmental gear. Where we take them once I've incapacitated them, I leave to you." She offers, her eyes brightening with anticipation.
Jaxain looks at Vyvian, "Actually, I was hoping we could encapsulate them in a stone prison, but I don't know if your 'ways' extend to that?" He smiles around another mouthful of steak, "And yes, a psychic healer would be very useful, so I would greatly appreciate you bringing her along as well." He is silent for a moment as he chews more food. "I'd like to go out tonight, but poor planning is the downfall of any operation, so I agree that we must wait until we can all gather and be prepared. Let us keep in touch then."
Vyvian is thoughtful on that. "Can go ask 'round a lil. See if mebbe them police sorts will help." She cautiously hopeful on that. "But for just testin', mebbe we can take 'em to the Knight's hospital," she suggests. "Dregs be a good place t'look, I'm thinkin'. Then take em' there, get a room t'keep 'em in long enough t'see if they can get helped. If not.." Her mood dips a little. "Not sure.. guess mebbe we gotta answer that when it comes." She then looks to Jax and blinks twice. "Could dig a place for 'em," she says. "Can't.. y'know, make stone just form 'round em. But can dig a spot, no sweat. Ole Vyvy knows how t'dig." She grins broadly, seeming quite prideful of her digging prowess.
Tirzah smiles warmly as the plan becomes firm. "Shall we meet at the hospital tomorow at midnight then?" She enquires not foreseeing any difficulty in procuring Sage for that time.
Jaxain finishes his meal and stands up, "Ah! It's good to have something to focus my mind on again! That sounds great, Tirzah, I'll see you guys then!" And with that, he leaves, perhaps to prowl the streets and see what he can see before the night in question. Jaxain says as he departs, to Vyvian, "Thanks again for the food! You're a lifesaver."
Vyvian bobs her head in response to that. "Ain't no problem bein' there," she agrees. "Y'be careful out there, honey." Said to Jax as he goes, the lizard woman giving him a little wave and a casual grin. Her mood has risen back up into it's normal positive warmth and she looks back to Tirzah, seeming quite pleased with matters as they stand. "Them poor people been buggin' me for the longest time. Ain't never seemed right no one was tryin' t'help 'em an' figure what's goin' on." If she minds or even notices she's been stuck witht he bill it doesn't show.
Tirzah nods, understanding Vyvian in that. "Maybe if there was a place they could go in such times, for insight or understanding. Things would be easier for them." She suggests openly and then the venison arrives, an impressive shank clearly intended for two with steamed vegetables, roasted red potatoes, and wild rice. "You wanna help me with this?" She offers to Vyvian before she cuts away a slice for herself.
"Mebbe.. but if they ain't in their right minds, dunno if they'd be thinkin' 'bout goin' places.." She pases, considering that briefly before she adds, "Well, can't say I really got any clue what's goin' on in their heads. Mebbe if we fix one of 'em, they can say." Then she's offered food. Meat to be more precise and such high concepts are allowed to slip to the side for the moment as she remembers her own hunger. "Ain't t'be sayin' no t'that, honey," she agrees quite readily. Though as she glances down to the plates and silverwear, she considers the variety of them with a soft bemusement. "Dunno why ya would need more than a good knife for eatin' meat." All of her prior eating this evening having been finger foods.
Tirzah shakes her head, people seem to be misunderstanding her a lot tonight. "Not the crazies, the people in the Dregs. Wont matter if the crazies want to go, I'll make em sleep and we can tie and transport them in safety." She tells Vyvian after a few moments of enjoying the rare cut of meat. "Rule of thumb with the tools of the table, pick the one that's best suited for the job." She offers with a smirk.
"Ain't never needed no more than a good knife." Though with her personal knife confiscated a the door, she elects to make use of the steak knife, though it is a bit anemic in comparison. But sharp and functional. "Guess mebbe you're right. Dunno, though.. might do to ask some of the folks what they're lookin' for.. or somethin'." With her focus now turned towards food, deeper topics fall by the wayside. Of course, an idea implanted can always rise again.
