From Chronicles
Rasputin's Deli is a lively place, normally a short man is behind the counter serving up orders of beef, brisket, chicken, pork, sausage, fish and just about every other type of meat product you can imagine. Rasputin's is a well known secret to low, medium and high class people of all type. Rasputin has all sorts of customer's coming and going at all times of day or night. He isn't open 24-hrs, but he might as well be. As you walk into the Deli, next to the door is a small lunch counter which faces out into the street. Opposite to the deli counter are four small booths. Both of these locations serve as eating space for those that choose to grab a quick bite of food or one of Yakov's and Rasputin's famous five meat monster deli sandwiches. Most people don't use these booths, but the lunch counter is constantly being used, as it provides a great people watching vantage.
Mid afternoon finds Tirzah stopping at the deli for some real food after almost a week of roughing it on dried provisions and jerky with Sage Kid and Joshua. She parts her cycle outside and grabs her key, fiddling the keys to the lockers for her plasma thrower as she makes her way into the deli. The wednesday late lunch rush is moderate as expected, as the working class finds the need a little more to get through the rest of the week in the harsh winter.
Having returned from the venture out into the wilderness, Sage has decided to take a break from preparing meals even if she did have help from Tirzah along the way. She wanders into the Deli and slowly shrugs out of the coat as she makes her way over the coat rack once more to hang up the fur coat of her's. She turns her gaze thoughtfully to the counter as if wondering she might want to order that wont remind her of the repetetive meals over the past week or so.
And inside, what would she find? The usual crowd. Bloodsport junkies, service guys on lunch break, and a line of people waiting for their sandwiches so they can get back to the Arena. Several individuals crowd around people with portable screens showing the action below -- currently deadball, with a titan juicer left against a pair of tag-team crazies -- and of course Sebastien. He has a small screen in front of him, and a cold-looking sandwich that e halfheartedly takes a bite of once in a blue moon, but the stand holding his screen aloft is just a little too big and shiny. Maybe it's meant for a larger model? Either way, something's off.
Tirzah looks at Sage, still feeling a little cautious over the advantage her friend gave to Kid on the trip. But now that its done she can relax and talk to Sage about it perhaps. So finding a light smile she taps Sage on the shoulder and offers a turkey salad pita (she ordered two). "Hey, can we talk?" She asks, wondering if Sage noticed how quiet she got after that point on the trip.
With the line that has built up, Sage muses to herself that she'll have plenty of time to decide what she wants. That is, until she gets tapped on the shoulder. Her gaze shifting to the redhead and offering a faint smile to the woman. "Hey..." She replies, before looking to the pita that's being shown. "Sure." She says, "We can talk." She decides to let the other woman lead the way to a place to sit.
Talk! "Dreaded words, from a woman," Sebastien rumbles uninvited from his seat. His eyes remain on the mirrored stand of his little screen, though he does glance up to eye Tirzah. "From a man, these words would be, 'you have some explaining to do.' Generallement followed by the chest thump and an offer to go outside instead." He winks, and glances again at his screen, before looking back to wink at Sage.
Tirzah blinks at Sebastien and his unanticipated interruption to her leading Sage to a booth. Finding a glare as she's not in the mood for theatrics she levels it at Sebastien. "If you're asking to join us, I suppose I'll tolerate it. If you can behave and keep nonsense outbursts like that to a minimum." She states blandly, the terms quite unnegotiable.
A brow raises when the man adds his spin on the redhead's request, Sage shifts her gaze to consider the man. A faint look of amusement touching her features, "I knew there was something I didn't appreciate fully while I was away..." She murmurs with a brief chuckle, giving a gentle shake of her head. Then, she glances over to the redhead, "Do you suppose he's related to that Xandos guy?" She muses.
Sebastien reaches to flick off his screen, dumping the display and stand into a small pack before leaping to his feet and declaring in a strong, diligent voice, "I hereby proclaim, in this deli, on this late hour, that I shall keep my outbursts to a --!" His crescendo falls, a little smile creeping across his features as Sebastien swallows the rest of what he was going to say, before scooting towards the booth. "I will just sit down now."
Tirzah smirks at the comparison Sage makes, finding the connection easy to make. "Yes except Sebatien's learned he's not all powerful." She notes with a coy grin, before moving on. "But my topic is more serious. I just needed to make sure, you didn't believe what Kid said about me not feeling. Because I couldn't rebuke that claim without arguing with her, and without opposition she assumed she was right. It was very difficult for me to endure that from her." She says in a calm serious tone. She looks to Sage, to see if she understands.
The theatrics are mostly brushed aside by Sage as her attention is mostly on Tirzah. An amused look is given to her friend when she seems to agree, but she doesnt linger too long on the topic either. "The two of you are... very different." She comments, settling down into the booth on the other side from Sebastien when they get there. "I was just trying to get Kid to adjust her view of you a little.... but it didn't seem to..." She shrugs, unsure of whether her answer re-assures the other woman or not.
Sebastien folds his arms before him, leaning back with a wild smirk barely contained on his cragged face. The scar running down the right side of his face crinkles faintly, and the young knight doesn't yet weigh in on the Kid. The comment from Sage about the pair being different lifts his right eyebrow with a laugh, but nothing else.

Tirzah Takes her seat across from Sebastien but doesn't move over. Comfortable with talking to someone in front of her as opposed to beside she doesn't give it a second thought either. "Well that's very considerate of you to want others to see more of the sides that you see." She replies to Sage's explained effort with a smile. "But dont work to hard, or it will make those aspects less special." She then suggests. "From what I know Kid's always fought tooth and nail for everything she has. Then I come along, living a fairly comfortable life, and I didn't back down from her. I guess she resents that. I'm sorry we interact like we do, i wish she could just let things go, but she cant seem to let anyone else have the last word. And in regard to me her last words have not been very friendly. So I eaither let her think she's right, or argue until she's blue in the face over it." She explains, some exasperation in her tone at the end.
With the man's laugh, Sage glances over to him with a quizzical look as she wriggles her way in further to her side of the booth before turning her body slightly to allow for more of a triangular conversation area. She smiles faintly to the redhead's first couple comment, "Okay..." She says, with a faint bit of humour in her tone. She purses her lips as she considers the rest of the woman's comments. "Its alright. I haven't always gotten along with Kid myself... she's rather difficult to be around at times." She glances to Sebastien once more before looking back to the redhead. Her mind slipping into the other woman's, << I had another motive too... >> She admits in a soft mental whisper.
Tirzah looks at Sage curiously as her friend confesses her duplicity. Unable to discern it with the information given, she waits for further explanation. Her mood lightening again now that she's gotten that all off her chest she starts to smile more and takes a bite from her pita.
Sage considers the other woman for a quiet moment, before her gaze flickers once more to the man. << I wanted to learn more about you too... >> She settles on, "I'm glad that things went smoothly enough." She speaks up to fill the silent void, before she wriggles her way back towards the plate with the second pita. "Just like you two promised." She motions to the second pita, "May I?" she asks, figuring to double check with the other woman before mooching.
Tirzah shakes her head. "Of course, I was going to track you down with it anyways." She notes with a grin. "I guess Kid would be a good way to find out how I can be with someone who isn't nice, or goes out of their way to antagonize me. But i do try to avoid those sort. And from her hints during the trip she will be removing herself from the equation soon anyways." She notes, before taking a moment to reflect. "I guess the reason we argue is because debate was really encouraged back home. If I felt I was right I was always invited to say why, and often given several opportunities for rebuttal before being soundly defeated. A warlock thing I guess. Not something I ever imagined would be used against me like it was with Kid though."
"Thank you." Sage says softly, as she reaches out to take the pita up carefully before wriggling back a little to create a little more comfortable space where she can use the table of the booth to catch. << I want to tell you something later... without... >> She doesn't bother to complete the thought as she thinks the other woman will likely take up an impression that'll be closer to being right. "I see." She comments before taking a bite out of the pita to munch on.
Sebastien lets out a quiet sigh, uttering as he stares at the table, "This child, this Kid, se is a damaged young lady. It is as if someone took a bowl, something meant to be filled with happy things, and shattered her into sharp edges that do not retain the joys of life -- they only slice at those who try to come near." He leans back, keeping his voice low, and adds, "I cannot heal her. Neither can any of you. The only one who can mend Kid, is Kid. She must be made to want to be different, and to appease her only makes her cling to her broken pieces, the little knives with which she stabs the world."
Tirzah smirks agreeing that some things are better discussed in private. Looking back to Sebastien who's been very quiet and behaved, and even made a good point in the end. She considers putting him on the ropes for a bit. "So you never told me who your real love is Sebastien. Is it just because I never asked or are you a little worried my jealousy would get the better of me?" She asks, the night calm and reserved before taking another bight and observing his reaction with a thoughtful chew.
With the other woman turning her attention to the man, Sage's attention drifts to the man as well. "Perhaps..." She comments simply, wondering if any of them will find out or whether that will be a well-kept secret due to circumstance. She raises a brow as the topic of the man's new love is brought up, but she seems content to hold her piece in favour of the pita.
Sebastien looks up to Tirzah, a faint smile on his lips as he considers the woman. Giving her the sort of look that's very masculine, and best saved for private places. "You are a cherished friend of mine," Sebastien notes softly. "We may disagree on some things, an we may hurt one another, but our arguments will not change this fact. I hurt you, last month. I could not avoid it. I did not want you asking yourself; what is it she has that I do not? Am I not good enough? Is it that I am not beautiful enough? Mademoiselle, you are all these things. But my love was for someone else." He raises his eyebrows, and laughs, "and the Hell of it is, I do not know if she also loves me. So perhaps your revenge will come in due time. But if you truly do wish to know who she is, you must only ask."
Tirzah takes a moment to think it over and then nods. "I think it would help me with closure. I'm looking at moving on and have found someone who sees the same value in significance as I do. But to really devote myself to that person I kinda have to finalize my image of you, not in bed with me. If you don't mind me being blunt." She requests her tone calm and sincere, her gaze focused firmly on Sebastien.
A thoughtful look enters Sage's features as the man responds to the redhead's comments. "If you two would prefer that I leave the table for the time being.." She comments, as she picks up on certain things from the man... and from the topic itself. She looks to Tirzah as she speaks up, considering her for a moment. She glances between the two of them as if waiting for word one way or the other.
Sebastien grins at that, and leans back to fold hands behind his head, staring at Tirzah with the question, "Is this how you see me now?" he wriggles in his seat, seeming pleased with that assessment before letting out a slow sigh, tongue touching his lips as he prolongs the moment. In a conversational tone, spoken as reverently as if completing a spell, te young knight intones, "Katsumi Kiyota."
Tirzah smiles at Sebastien. "I thought it might be her. Good luck." She wishes sincerely before rising herself. "Lets both go Sage, we can have that talk if you have the time and inclination." She invites with a confident smile.
Once it seems the conversation will just keep going despite her offer to let them exchange it, Sage has no choice but to listen. "Who is this Katsumi person?" she asks, wondering if she's seen this woman or not and just simply had not realized. She looks to Tirzah as she's abruptly offered to depart, "I... guess we could..." She says, reaching into one of the pouches to pull out a bag to stow the rest of her pita into before she begins to wriggle her way towards getting out of the booth.
Sebastien calls up, apparently not ready to get up immediately for fear of chasing the young women out. "But mademoiselle, there remains one question. Who is yours?" He raises his eyebrows, pouting just a little there in the booth. He glances aside at Sage, mouthing 'later' with a little nod.
Tirzah shrugs, giving a slight smirk to Sebastien. "Its not love yet, so given the delicacy of undefined states I'm going to have to decline that for now. When its indicated to me that is ok to be open about it I'll tell you. Its only fair." She offers before heading out with Sage in tow. Tags: sage, sebastien, tirzah
