Early evening, and the club is filling up slowly. Maya is sat to one side in a booth, her usual drink in front of her. Her face is serious, and beside her there is a packet of papers. She is leaning forward, scribbling into a notepad, her pen popped into her mouth during each thinking break.

Having gotten the note, Alistair makes his way down the Alibi; wading through the throng of people, he gets to thebar and asks about Maya, and is directed to her booth. He smiles and greets her once he makes his way over. "Hello Miss Maya. I got your note" he says, slipping in to sit down.

With the note catching her attention, Sage has it tucked away in one of her pockets as she enters the Alibi. She breezes through the checkpoint as she's used to the drill. She isn't too far behind Alistair. "Hey..." She adds, before settling down at the booth herself.

Maya looks up and points the pen at Alistair. "Maya, not miss." She corrects him with that broad grin that lights up her eyes. "And Sage." She reaches for the pile of papers, sorting some of them into piles. "I did some research, not much but some, just to find out a bit more about Madhaven." She gives both a serious look, a small frown on her forehead. "It used to be called New York city... you know it is an island, right?"

Alistair smilea t Maya sheepishly, then he becomes serious when she mentions Madhaven. He nods to Sage as well before looking back at Maya. "Yes, vaguely, I have not had to go out that way before so I have not looked to those maps so closely."

A smile comes to Sage's lips, but it is merely a response to the other woman's grin. She briefly glances to Alistair to return the acknowledgement before she glances to the pile of papers that she has on her table. "I don't know much about Madhaven... there are just people I care about going." She admits, before looking up to Maya.

"So the place is well named. It makes people go mad, going there." She glances through the notes, Maya's finger moving across the page. "You can fight it off if you are like some massive psychic, but otherwise..." She shakes her head, giving them both serious eyes. "There isn't any first hand information in the libraries, and there are supposed to be more evil spirits and creatures of a demonic nature there than anywhere else." She leans back in her chair, looking at them steadily. "That was all I could find."

"So they try to do things to you?" Alistair asks, quirking his brows up a touch. "That many things around there, it can't be fun" he murmurs, frowning faintly. "Well, it is what it is - we will get through it somehow." Sage frowns as the woman confirms it is a place where people could go made. "I guess that explains why Tirzah has been busy making fire globes. The creatures there must have some sort of weakness to it."

Maya reaches for the other papers, having put the first batches in front of each of them. "I looked into that lake too. The sample was really amazing. Noone should drink it, swim in it, anything. Really." This topic is clearly more fascinating for the scientist, her hands moving as she speaks. "There are nuclear stuff, yeah but there is heavy metals in it, and it has soaked into the soil." She offers Sage a piece of paper, with a shake of her head. "It is gonna be really hard to clean up, we haven't a clue what the source is..." She glances between the pair, her expression serious. "So either way, I can't do much unless we can find the source, and it will kill anyone that swims in it. Keep people out, Sage."

" ... a lake?" Alistair asks, and looks to Sage for a moment, and then Maya, and then back to Sage. "Getting rid of heavy metals can be incredibly expensive, it is no walk in the park" and then back to Maya, blinking. "Thank you for the information" he smiles, "I will look for something to help ... "

Sage's attention is on Maya with the occasional glance to the paper. She takes the piece of paper and gives it a quick glance. She takes a breath before smiling to the other woman. "Thank you for the information." She adds quietly, << And the purpose aside from fretting over my friends. >>

Maya opens her mouth to speak, giving Sage a quick glance and a smile when there is a loud bleeping. She reaches for her pocket, drawing a pager from it with a frown, her face serious. "I have to go. Work need me." The words are irritated and she rises. "You two take care." She is gone, with a quick wave.

Alistair waves at Maya, standing up as she rises, because it's polite. "Bye bye Maya!" he says, waving at her and watching her go, before he sits back down.

Sage waves her hand as Maya departs and rises from the booth where she had been sitting with the others. She looks over the paper in her hands as she steps out of the booth. She glances towards Alistair, "I guess you'll have your hands full with looking after Cali... although, I'm not sure why she needs to go there."

"Oh, well" Alistair rises as well, since Sage is doing the same. "Yes, but that is why I am going. I wonder if there is something we can get to protect her, I don't imagine Miss Cel will want to be around her all the time" he murmurs, dipping his chin a touch, but still cheerful. "She is going to repay a dept of honor."

Sage nods her head faintly, "I know." She replies when the man confirms his reason for going. Her lips purse at the situation that presents itself. "There may be something... but, I am not sure we'd be able to find out and get our hands on it in time." She comments softly with a thoughtful tone, "And, I guess that's good enough for now... I suppose I would do the same thing in her place."

Ayame walks into the bar and sees the two inside. She walks over to an empty both nearby and sits down. Not able to afford anything, but seeking a pocket to pick. "Something such as?" Alistair smiles, "There is still time, the harder we try the better, I mean - this is Cali" he points out, brows hiking up a touch, "And it isn't just Cali" he adds then nodding his head. He does glance at Ayame for a few moments, and the back to Sage. Frowning he points out also, "But such things are expensive ... maybe we could rent or borrow one?"

"I have heard little bits about how Coalition deal with psychics... if anyone has thought of something, it might be them." Sage replies, before offering a little shrug. "Although, perhaps there may be something closer to home like a technowizard device or some such." She adds before nodding faintly, "I want to protect Tirzah... and others that go too." She comments before letting a little frustration leak into her features, "We can only hope."

Ayame hears the name Tirzah and pays more attention, actually turning to hear them. After a moment she speaks up saying, "I know of Tirzah. Maybe I can help?"

"But they torture people, they don't try to help them ... maybe you're right though, but I don't think they'd want to help us, either" Alistair comments, nodding his head to Sage's statement, before looking over towards Ayame curiously. "Hello" he smiles, "I don't know, we are dealing with ghosts and things ... "

"No, they don't try to help... but, they may have invented something." Sage shrugs, "Not that they'd just hand it over." She gives a sigh, before she pauses to glance over at the new voice to see who it is. She doesn't recoil at the appearance of the other, instead her gaze has an intent interest for the moment. "Hey..." She offers in greeting, before glancing to Alistair with a raised brow before looking to Ayame. "Well, you may not be able to... but we are trying to figure out a way to protect friends like Tirzah from a place that can... affect the mind."

Ayame raises an eyebrow and asks, "Need something stolen?" SHe is sitting on the edge of her seat excitedly. "I might be able to help with that."

"Right -" Alistair nods to Sage, inclining his head for a moent, and then looking back towards Ayame. "But stealing is wrong!" he protests, blinking his eyes at the suggestion of commiting a crime.

Sage can't help but chuckle a little in response to the excited offer, before she shakes her head alittle. "While that may get the end result we want... I don't think we could ask you to do that." She can't help but agree with Alistair. "I suspect we'll have to find some other way."

Ayame frowns and says, "To protect someone you care about, you should be willing to do the wrong thing. otherwise danger is sure to occur."

Walking through the check point Tirzah makes her way to the bar, smirking at some of the looks her flashy clubwear gets. It almost makes up for some of the patrons mistaking her for a guy in the darker corners of the club. Stepping up she orders a white russian before turning to try and spot the persons she came to meet.

"Two wrongs don't make a right, though, why would we start by steling? That is if there's no other options. Besides, do you know what you are looking for? And how would you steal from the CS?" Alistair asks, a flurry of questions aimed at Ayame. Ayame loks at the door and sees Tirzah, Speak of the devil. I found what you asked for." To Sage and Alistair she says, "Fine, I can try and help you borrow it. Whatever it is. For a price."

"We'd need to figure out /if/ there is anything we could use for our purposes and how much it may cost or... in the case of the CS, how difficult it would be to obtain." Sage says with a sigh, "I'm not the most knowledgeable here, though." She comments, as she lets her finger rise to twine with a lock of her hair. She glances towards where the other woman glances to see her partner, offering a faint smile.

Tirzah grins at Ayame as her drink is delivered with a slight nod. "Oh? Do tell." She insists as she takes the drink to walk over to Sages side and make herself comfortable. "And what are you two conspiring towards?" She asks in a demure and seductive tone.

Alistair rolls his eyes slightly, and then he looks back to Sage, nodding. "I don't think anyone has all the knowledge we need, but ... " his brows hike up a touch, and then he looks to Tirzah - he greets her, "Hello!" and smiles, "We're just talking about the Madhaven trip. It seems we will need ways of protecting people ... people's minds."

"At least we got some knowledge about the place now." Sage replies to Alistair, not sounding entirely content about the situation. She glances to Tirzah once more, raising a brow faintly as she isn't sure what the other woman had asked Ayame to do. She slips her arm around Tirzah's waist as the topic of Madhaven is mentioned. A protective - if fond - gesture on her behalf. "Yeah." She offers simply.

Ayame smiles and fills Tirzah in on the building she found. After she gets all the details out she asks, "What do you think?"

Tirzah flattens her expression business like as the details of the building are relayed and gives a slight nod. "Sounds workable, though being claimed by the family can be a mixed bag." She remarks before pulling out two credchips to hand one to Ayame. "One thousand credits as promised. A thousand more if you can find out what it would take to arrange unconditional continued use of that building and maybe even make the arrangements." She offers with a flourish of the second credchip before relaxing her expression to turn back to Sage and Alistair. "Well yeah, I told you few came out alive and fewer still sane. No one listens to me though."

Listening to the description of the building, Sage ends up looking to Tirzah with a questioning expression. "What's going on?" She asks, unsure of why the other woman might need such a building. Her arm begins to slip back towards her in her confusion. She nods to the comment Tirzah makes about Madhaven, "We were just learning more about the place... seems we'll have to avoid the lake completely as it is polluted and dangerous."

Ayame nods to Tirzah and says, "I will get on it. If they want mnetary cmpensate, shall I drop your name?"

Tirzah shakes her head at Ayame at the idea of dropping her name. "Lets not disclose too much at this juncture. I'm sure they will want compensation, find out how much for me. As I see it as long as they get paid nothing else is their business." She elaborates before looking back to Sage with an appeasing wink. "You remember way back when I was considering helping the refugees? Well this will be to help the dregs without the politics that involved." She explains, her arm following Sages to wrap around her partner instead.

Listening to the conversation about her partner's venture, Sage is thoughtful. Her gaze considers her partner when Tirzah's attention shifts to her. "That's rather vague, but I suspect I can make you tell me the details at some point." She comments softly, before leaning lightly against her partner as she feels her partner's arm slip around her.

Ayame nods to Tirzah and says, "Aye aye. I will have it as soon as I can." Tirzah smirks at Sage, taking a moment to findlt remember their last interogation before she gives her head a slight shake. "Merely thought I told you before, after the explosion at the hospital my intentions to eventually mend the Dregs. Never let go of those, just put them aside until I could look at it again." She explains causally before taking a good swallow from her drink.

Sage's arm circle back around Tirzah when the other woman smirks at her. "I see." She replies, with a look that suggests she knows that it is a little more complicated than that. "We should dance a little." She mentions, "There are still some things to be decided." Your vote has been recorded.

Tirzah nods and puts her drink down to follow Sage's lead to the dance floor. "Certainly. Decide away my love. And you should know, Erica flirted with me as well. I wonder if she is after you to get to me." She hints with a mischievous smile.

There is a certain confidence in Sage as she leads the way to the dance floor that can be absent at other such cases. "I was thinking that we don't need to remain in the garden for the after celebration... so, we might be able to be as flamboyant as we want if we go else where." She comments, "Otherwise, we're going to be practicing to put together something that wont be a train wreck." Her tone is full of amusement, before she glances to Tirzah with a raised brow. "Well, that would figure if she found your more appealing... but, you said no one has caught your eye anyway... so she can't be all that interested in you." She jabs back, before getting a pleased look as a rare slow song comes on as they step onto the dance floor. She turns to Tirzah, stepping close and laying her hands gently on the other woman's sides before swaying softly to the beat.

Tirzah nods in agreement to the ability to relocate after the ceremony. "Perhaps we should come here after?" She asks as it seems the most viable place that she can apparently think of. "And she didnt really catch my eye. Not much of a backbone. not the commanding vixen you are who put even me in my place. A feat none have accomplished before or since, in that setting." She compliments with well intended over emphasis, moving simply close to Sage with the sway of the music. "And how could two people in love ever be miscontrued as a trainwreck anyway?"

Casting a glance around the place, Sage loks back to Tirzah with a smile. "It has worked well enough for us in the past." She replies, seemingly accepting the option. She considers the other woman as she responds to the comments about their flirtatious friend. She smiles, "She is likely growing into herself still at it is." She comments, "Regardless, I'm sure we can agree that we'd need mutual interest... and agreement." She purses her lips before getting a warm expression, "Mine." She says quietly but loud enough for her partner to hear. She leans in for a quick peck on the lips, before she gives an amused look. "When they end up in an undignified pile for stepping on each other's feet enough." She teases lightly.
