NEAR THE LANDING STRIP

Gabriel's hanging out under a blessedly clear sky. Yes, there are clouds, but only light snow. Of course, it's far below freezing, but he has never really seemed to care. Training? Clothing? Insanity? Who knows. Right now he's leaning up against a large hickory growing south of the strip, with a few old weapons around and some kit.

Announced by the sound of approaching jet pack, Jax lands somewhere nearby with a muffled *thud*, sending a few tufts of snow up into the air. He raises a hand in greeting, approaching the other man slowly.

The older man looks up, and waves a hand. "Hey, practicing! Not a bad landing," Gabriel allows. Not very many compliments are ever offered, so that's one to remember. "What brings you by?"

Jaxain gives Gabriel a grin, walking close. "Hey, sorry I could make it to your place the other night, things got worse before they got better." He smirks. "I tried, but didn't get far." He spreads his hands, "Ok, I'm gonna be straight with you. Right now, I'm worried that Bella replaced you as her blood slave now that Sebastien is free."

Gabriel chuckles and sets aside what he's doing. Which upon closer inspection is loading his .44 with a fresh magazine of silver bullets, loading his Dragunov with silver bullets, affixing wooden stakes beneath his jacket, tucking a wooden crucifix in the other side, trying to find a place for two wooden swords and stashing a silver-edged knife in his waistband. "Okay. Well, I'll tell you right now that I'm not. But from what we've talked about before, I guess you probably don't trust that right off the bat. All I know about Bella is that I don't know what to think about her anymore. I used to trust her. Now I don't, if for no other reason than that she speaks in riddles. But do your magic, if you want. I'm game."

Jaxain nods, and speaks several magic words, reaching out to gently grasp Gabriel by the shoulder as he also watches the other man's eyes. "Alright. Let's try... "Have you ever been bitten by a vampire." Pause, "How many different vampires have bitten you." Pause, "Are you under the control, in any way, of any other beings." Pause, "Which beings are you under the control of."

Gabriel answers, apparently not even trying to say otherwise. "I have been bitten by a vampire. I allowed Bella to bite my wrist once at the Ivory Lady, but it was purely as cover. Bella is the only one, and it was only the one time. I am not under any psychic control of any being, though the actual term of 'control' is rather open, meaning things like I am under control of Donna because I am currently devoting my life to finding a way to kill her. However, my mind is free, my thoughts are my own, and my actions are my own."

Jaxain nods, smiling, and steps back. "Alright, I feel a lot better. Vampires take full control of a mortal by biting them three times in a row, on three consecutive nights, and their other forms of mind control are temporary." He looks at Gabriel, "I was doing some research to confirm my suspicions, and what I found was chilling... Master vampires can control, for the long term, any other vampire they come across. Easily. Bella might be trusted, if she was herself, but that is not the case. We are speaking to a drone of the Master now." He looks around, as if it would be even remotely possible that someone could overhear them. "Sebastien saved our lives, with that message he relayed to Pavel, and we owe a great debt to both him and especially to Bart for contacting me about it." He is silent for a moment, "We must speak with Sebastien soon. I just found out he was a blood slave of Bella's from Monique, and I am certain, without doubt, that she spoke the truth, as it also explains many other things of late. How much have you told Bella, because we must assume Donna knows it all."

Gabriel pauses and thinks. "Obviously she knew the full details of the original plan before Sebastien's warning got to me. She knows that I'm the primary person looking around for information, though she doesn't know how, now that I do it during the daytime and stay out of the Lady." He smacks his .44's magazine in, and tucks it into a shoulder holster as he stands. "She knows my suspicions, and that people suspect her." He shrugs. "Vampire or not, she isn't stupid, and she knows the 'Dregs. Looks like it's time for me to start ordering around more people for intelligence gathering, while I do some counter-intelligence. I've already got a man on the inside." He leaves the identity clear for the time being. "It's too bad if Bella herself is in fact a puppet. Puts me in a difficult position, kind of."

Jaxain shrugs, "We kill her, or stake her and leave her somewhere safe. Just before the operation would be best, either way, and I hope your counter-intelligence is effective. We are in it deep here, and to be honest if I didn't have so many friends here I'd just damn well skip town." He smirks, obviously not planning to do anything of the like. "Anyway, I'm glad we had this talk. Here, take this holy water. You may not believe in it, but if you draw a circle around yourself a vampire cannot enter it, at least until the water evaporates."

"We can put her down same as last time, right? Put some bullets in her, stake her, keep her out of the sunlight. Maybe when Donna's dead, bring her back to life. Or whatever you call it." Gabriel shrugs and then laughs. "Who would have thought that my old weapons would be good anti-vampire weapons.?"

Jaxain nods, "Yeah, that should work. If we decide to bring her back this time." He seems less ... interested in the outcome this time. For some reason. "I need to talk to Sebastien soon though."

"I hope we can both talk to him?" Gabriel ventures. "You might have the monster aspect, but I have the military aspect. Would be a good thing."

Jaxain nods slowly, as though uncertain but willing to consider. "We will see how the timing works out... right now, I just want to get some words in with him as soon as I can." he looks at Gabriel, "What did you think of the questions I asked you? Better than before?"

"Better. But someone trying to slip past would possibly have been able to sidestep with the 'control' issue," Gabriel agrees. "You have five minutes to ask as many questions as you want. Make them as simple as possible. Start large, narrow down. Most interrogations work that way. Of course... they're different."

Jaxain nods, still seeming slightly out of sorts... but then, it says something that he's no longer concealing his true emotions behind a false facade. "Alright. I'll see you soon, I have to go look into some things." He takes a few steps backwards, crouches and springs nearly 20 feet into the air (apparently not with the assistance of the jet pack), and then turns it on and zooms into the sky.
