UNCOMMON MECHANICS

All the bay lights are off at Uncommon Mechanics, save for one. Tek is at his work bench with a set of Triax T-13 armor sprawled out across it. Currently he is soldering something onto a tiny circuit board on what looks like the inside of the back of the armor. Music blares loudly as you enter. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafts through the air. Several small tools float near Tek as he is consumed looking down trough an optics band.

Gabriel enters, knocking on the wall as he does. He's back in snow gear for the moment, as another winter storm rages outside. Fortunately the clearly-custom greatcoat is doing a good job of keeping him warm. Still, to be polite, he remains inside the door near the coffee - not partaking - just to knock on the wall rather than wandering in uninvited.

As you come in the music volume turns down and a couple more lights come on before Tek says, "Just a second there, let me just get this one last..." with that Tek takes off the optics band and looks up, "Ahh Mr. Blaze. It is good to see you. Help yourself to some coffee if you like and make yourself at home. Is there something I can help you with?"

Gabriel smiles, and takes a few steps forward, eschewing the coffee for now. "Morning, Tek. If you have a few seconds to discuss something between you, me the wall and no one else, I'd love to do so. How're you doing?" He asks the last question as he turns to remove the greatcoat, exposing a lighter vest beneath. All of it something that would probably camouflage quickly into the winter wilderness, but without using any fancy technology that is sometimes so easy to defeat.

Tek smiles with a nod and motions to an empty bench at his work station, "Sure thing Gabe. What can I do for you?" He gives you his undivided attention having set his previous work to the side, though he did not turn off the soldering iron.

"You may have noticed that I'm not very special," Gabriel begins with a smirk. "Just a man. I need a weapon - some form of handgun, ideally - that will give me an edge if something happens. Pulls out of a holster faster, trigger's light, sights are easy to align, things like that. The faster I can get a shot off at someone, right? Now, because of where I'm from," he says, emphasizing his Kentucky accent, "I'm not overly familiar with the current marketed weaponry. Hoping that you might know, and any modifications to do to such a weapon, that would make it do what I need."

A big smile spreads across Tek's face and he starts to nod, "So you are looking for something that works like the old style ballistic handguns. Now are you looking for just quick? Or are you looking quick and accurate? Or maybe something that can put a lot of lead down range quick doing more damage? Or what exactly are you wanting?

Gabriel shakes his head at the first part. "Doesn't have to be projectile, it could be any kind of handgun. I consider a 'handgun' to be anything I can reasonably use in one hand, doesn't matter what it shoots, it's the same to me. But yes, basically just very quick. I've got the accuracy on my own, though of course I certainly wouldn't turn it down," he offers with a slow grin. "As far as how much damage it does, again, I'm very open." The man has interesting specialties, it seems. But then again, everyone does. Even from organizations out of the early Twentieth Century.

Tek nods along as you explain further, "Let me look into what I can find and get back to you. But I am confident I can find the right combination for you. I will contact you as soon as I have the specifics with a quote. There might be a couple different options to choose from as well we will just have to see where this leads me."

"Sounds good," Gabriel says happily. "I'm not exactly looking to go wild with money, but I would like to see what you can put together anyway."

Tek nods understandingly, "I will give you the breakdown with all the options and approximate cost for each piece so you can pick and choose."

Gabriel offers Tek a silent nod and goes back to putting his coat on. A rather brief conversation, all told. "Thanks, Tek. I'll be dropping by to see you, I'm sure. Good luck with the.. armor, I suppose."

Tek chuckles and nods, "Thanks. I will see you soon then. Take care my friend."

With a quiet nod, the old fellow turns and walks to the door. Gabriel is soon back out in the elements.
