The following are answers to Elemental Fusionist questions that have been asked here on Chronicles of Kingsdale.

Question:

To what extent does the Elemental Resistance power of the Elemental Fusionist apply?

Answer (Using Earth/Air Fusionist as an example):

With any sort of damage directed against the PC directly, the resistance will apply. For example, if someone dumps a boulder on a character, the PC would take 25% less damage. If the PC was in a tornado, the effect would be 25% less.

But, with airborne toxin, it wouldn't be the air itself causing the injury. It would be the toxin in the air. So resistance would not apply. If the airborne toxin was heavy dust rather than chemical, then it would. So it is a fine gray line. The GM will need to decide on a case-by-case basis where the line exists. As another example, if someone catapulted an earth (stone) boulder at the Fusionist, the Fusionist would be resistant. But if someone catapulted a huge piece of metal, the Fusionist would take full damage.

Question:

With the powers that the Elemental Fusionist (Earth) has, they can dig faster and quicker. To what extent?

Answer:

A Fusionist can dig much further, faster and excavate larger than any normal person could do with a pick and shovel. However, when creating underground passages and rooms, the necessity of proper bracing and buttressing would slow down the Fusionist to normal levels. Further, all tailings need to be removed from the tunneling area, or it will simply fill in behind the Fusionist, leaving no useful area for others to follow. Still, these abilities would cut the duration of any mining and excavating project by 50% of standard time. Details will vary from project to project.
