SAGE ALTERNATIVES HALLWAY

The mood seems lighter somehow at Sage Alternatives and it may well be attributed to the place's namesake spreading her improved mood and more presence than she had been able to show for a number of weeks. With things having run smoothly enough without her heavy interaction, Sage seems to be able to focus on specific things. She's even playing a little greeter at the door.

Pavel comes chunking from.. the west, actually. Apparently he took the long way around the entire River Walk. He's dressed in his winter clothing, whistling off-key and seemingly having no problem with the high snowdrifts that certain shop owners have created when clearing their own entryway. He stops at the door to Sage Alternatives to stop his feet a few times, getting off most of the snow. "Allo! Sehge cahn tahlk nov?"

Finding the blacksmith to be her next caller, Sage smiles faintly at the man. She takes a brief moment to consider the question before she nods. "We should be able to find a place to talk if this is about a /certain task/." She uses a certain emphasis on the last part of what she says.

"Ees fohr syecohnd johb Sehge hahs ahskehd of Pavel. Good, da?" He stomps the rest of the snow off of his feet. "Ees qviet, Pavel knov. Veet deesaheegn, ahnd... cohst, fohr mehke." He opens up his giant furry jacket, which practically springs open with all of the padded lining that had been held inside.

Sage nods faintly to the man, "We can talk about it in the dining room." She mentions, "We just finished clearing the table from the last group to come." She mentions, before gesturing for the man to come and follow her lead. "And your timing is fortunate." She adds.

"Oh? Hov ees fohrtoonahte?" He follows Sage wherever it is that she goes. "Deed deenehr yoos Pavel's plaheece sehtteengs?"

"Fortunate that a certain person isn't around to eavesdrop.. or at least, shouldn't be." Sage replies, amending her comment as the other woman has a way of moving in a manner that can make her seem to appear from nowhere. Once into the dining room, she closes the door and makes sure there isn't anything left in the room that one of the staff would need to come in for. "I use them as much as possible." She mentions, "But, it is better for small groups or reservations for special occasions where one or two are being treated."

SAGE ALTERNATIVES DINING ROOM

Pavel allows himself into the dining room, smiling at hearing how his plates and goblets are being used. Once the door is closed solidly - and he has looked around for a woman who apparently may materialize or be hiding invisibly somewhere - he pulls out some pieces of paper. Good, solid artist's paper with some good, solid drawings on them in colored pencil. A ring. "Pavel has been vohrkeeng on reeng fohr Roobeedyah. Laheet, stahrboorst. Ees vhaht Pavel szeenk voold be preety." He explains as best he can in broken American, his thick but incredibly dexterous and delicate index finger working its way across the image. A large central aquamarine to represent the sky. Starbursts like a child's drawing of the sun, done in randomly alternating gold and silver, outlined with a thin detailing of platinum. All of these encrusted with dozens and dozens of small diamonds, cut to best reflect the light at random angles so that it sparkles at all times. He does make it a point to say, "Stahrbohrsts noht fohr pehrfehct ohn poorpohse. Laheete ees nyevehr tohtally seemyetreek, da? Alvehs has rahndom, soorpraheese." He smiles, perhaps a little knowingly. "Da?"

When they both seem to be satisfied that they likely won't be surprised by an intrusion, Sage wanders over to take a look at the ring that the man has designed for the occasion. She takes her time in considering the ring that the man seems to be proposing. "I don't think she should expect this." She replies, before pursing her lips. "Did you have another design as well?" She asks, as she had mentioned the possibility of having a couple designs to mull over.

"Ah, Pavel mehd sohm deesaheens, boot szees ees vhat szeenk fohr mohst seh 'Roobeedyah.' Spahrkel, has... ah, hov seh.. 'pee-zahz.' Boot eef Sehge hahs ohszehr aydehya, pleese, tell Pavel. Veel see fohr mehk chehnge." He holds out the paper, with some pencils available, then suggests, "Mehbe seet? Cahn help drahv, eef oszer szoughts?" He motions slowly toward an open seat.

Sage chuckles, "I was just wondering if you might have had any other ideas, but this one is definitely nice." She replies before she moves to take a seat. "I am not sure whether I will be able to produce something like it, but it doesn't hurt to muse a little."

"Vell, Pavel ahlso szought mehbe mohr cohlohr gems. Heer. Heer. Heer." He pokes the ends and semi-random places along the starbursts, among the diamonds. "Pehrhaps vyery ahppropriaht - braheet roobies. Smahl, so noht tehk ovyer cehntehr of eye, boot fohr ahd cohlohr ahnd, ah... hov ees seh." The blacksmith frowns for a moment, then smiles and snaps his big fingers. "Geev mohr drahma."

Sage purses her lips, "And, it would be worth keeping in mind that she can light up on her own..." She mentions, as she takes up the drawing implement and the paper. "It can be a normal band to fit the finger on the palm side..." She draws a somewhat slender band, "But, near the front, perhaps it can have a pattern that'll have open spots where her finger can be seen... so that when she shines, it can shine through some of the small encrusted gems." She explains, "And, whatever gem or gems are used for the main setting, I would like the brightest point to be within the middle... radiating outward." She explains, "Perhaps the sides of the ring can have a small flower or something that would be attracted to the light." She pauses, before glancing over towards the man.

"Saheeds of ahctooal reeng?" Pavel motions around his finger where the technical 'ring' part would be located. "Ohr dehcohrehted pahrt? Easy fohr leeve ohpen holes, ahlsoh easy fohr ahlohv ryeflehct off gehms. Sehge vahnts mohr gehms? Ohr ohnly hav Pavel feex gehm fohr byettehr reflection off vhaht ees szehr?" He doesn't question whether or not Rubidia can actually light up, having seen it happen before. He asks a series of further questions; is the large aquamarine an insufficient centerpiece? Does she actually want larger gems radiating down the starbursts?

Sage hms softly at the question she's asked, "I am not sure whether it will need more gems, but I think there should be something she can light up... that would say Rubidia even more, I think." She replies, "I am not sure what is the best gem to use..." She admits, before mentioning the possibility that the ring could simply have a symbolic bright spot in the front before it moves out along the ring in starburst like tendrils. She pauses before chuckling and shaking her head. "So much I want to convey but it is hard to put it into a ring."

Pavel takes back his materials and promises, "Pavel veel look fohr sohmszeeng fohr Roobeedya too 'laheet oop' as yoo seh. Szen cohm bahk, shov new deesaheen. Da? Szees ees good?" He holds up a hand. "I vahrn, ees noht cheep. Ohnly mahetereahls cahn be eexpehnseev. Boot veel do behst, fohr lohv. Ees behst rheesohn fohr vohrk." As he stands and prepares to leave, he asks a final question. "Ees deht szaht rheeng need fohr?"

"It doesn't need to be anything big or gaudy... just something she can shine through." Sage replies, "I'm sure there'll be a balance between letting the metal shine and having small encrusted gems." She adds, "And, not being a poor woman afterward would be good." She adds with a little humour, before pausing to consider the question. "Hm?" She asks simply, likely trying to piece together one or two words.

Pavel tries his best. "Eez... szehr. Eh deht set.. fohr speceeahl deh? Pavel moost hoohry fohr?"

Sage nods faintly, "Yes, that's all I can think to talk about for the time being." She assures the man.

The blacksmith frowns, his question obviously not answered. But he shrugs and smiles, offers some kind parting words - in American and Russian both, and then departs.
