Golden Carafe - Tirzah' Rooms
This room has a rather solid feel to it. The first sign of which being the first step onto the charcoal shaded tile floor. The type of feel a mid upper class apartment affords, the cultured slates give a nice semi gloss sheen off their dark surface. In contrast to the dark floors the walls are a pleasantly light pastel blue. Serene one might say. Both are pretty sparse in decoration. A sole lush white rug takes up the area immediatly around a queen wallbed. As opposed to pictures, mirrors hang framed on the walls, showing various tints of the red spectrum.
The furniture consists of two half circle couches around a central open fireplace. Simplistic coffee tables and fire. The bronze sconces are everywhere about the room, cradling everything from small candles to the large oil wick at the center of her small dining table. They serve as the sole light for the apartment at night. Scenting the air with a sweet sugary taste, inherent to the oil she burns. The queen wall bed spends most time folded away, making the bachelor suite much more open and inviting. Though when it is down the white and bronze silk sheets merely complement the room.
The Kitchen and bath are impressive, full in design and in commodities. Spices and herbs fill the shelves above the wracks of utensils for preparing them. The fridge is modest, adequate for a single person. Her copper cookware hangs gleaming from the ceiling rack to add to the fiery decor of the suite. Its sheen indicating she is particular about her cookware. Given her history to those who know it and her decor choice, Tirzah appears to be quite taken with the amenities of city life.
Players- Objects- Exits- Tirzah <O> Out Erica
Doing what she does when she just needs something to occupy herself, Sage is cooking. Only this time, there's more to soothing her nerves to this action. She'd made sure she could work undisturbed for a while. Having seen the opportunity to repay kindness, she's also sent an invitation for Erica stating a time that she believes her meal will mostly be done. The air is filled with scents as a pain-staking spicy sauce simmers on one burner. A pot of boiling water prepares the special noodles she's purchased from the market place. She also has some side dishes already laid out on large dishes and covered to keep their warmth in. She hums as she works away.
Erica says, ":is standing around just outside the kitchen. She keeps looking at the food with obvious hunger as she gnaws on her lower lip. One of her hands holds a glass of wine while she waits for Sage to finish her cooking. "Really Sage you didnt have to do this. You are much too kind to cook for me but I do appreciate it.""
The window to the seventh floor suite opens with a brief rush of winter air and Tirzah slips inside. Looking about briefly she smirks at Erica before closing the window behind her. "Wow, this smells more elaborate then normal what's..." Tirzah pauses, her question, noticing that how involved the meal is is more than courtesy. "What's wrong?"
"You're welcome." Sage replies softly, not really wanting to tip her hand before her other dining companion arrives. When the gust of air comes in, Sage is pretty certain who did it. "Tirzah!" She protests lightly, before pausing shortly thereafter as her scheme seems to be a little too transparent. "N-." she begins, as she begins to shut off the heat on the stove and drain the water away from the noodles. She gives a sigh as she realizes the answer isn't entirely true or likely to avoid suspicion. She glances behind her to the two other woman. "I... need a favour." She admits, before taking up a dish of appetizers and offering it over towards Erica. "Perhaps from both of you."
Erica raises her eyebrows as she notices Tirzah come into the suite through the window. She shakes her head slightly as she rolls her eyes a bit before turning her head back to Sage. She swirls her wine around in her glass for a bit before taking a sip of it. As the appetizers are offered to her she gives Sage a warm smile before reaching out and picking an appetizer and eating it with a quick bite. "Sure what do you need Sage?"
Tirzah turns to taste test one of the dishes as she considers Sage's evasion for a moment. "Whatever you need, though my trip coming up is into a dense jungle. Might be finding something that will be particularly natural.." She notes before turning back to stretch her hand to rub Sage's cheek. "Is this something I should change those plans for?" She asks, her tone very direct.
This particular appetizer is simple enough as it has some pleasant tasting pate on a sort of cracker. Something just to tempt the appetite. "Well..." She begins to respond to Erica, but Tirzah seems to reclaim her attention soon enough. She lets herself enjoy the touch on the cheek as if to draw a little comfort from it, before she considers her partner. "I'm not sure yet." She replies, before placing the appetizer plate down and gesturing for her partner to grab herself a drink. She turns back to begin preparing the rest of the meal. "I mainly need a little help for a task that's been brought to my attention." She comments, "I was hoping that you might know someone that knew a lot about magic and other lore." She busies herself with preparing the main dish. The noodles are distrubed between three plates before the saucer is carefully ladled onto both. Then she sprinkles bits of chicken, mixed vegetables and grated cheese over it all. "And, Erica... well, you seem to have a way of getting around quickly."
Erica rubs her hands together eagerly as she watches Sage finish preparing the meal. She sets down her glass of wine as she takes a seat at the table. "Well I don't have my hovercycle, but I can get wherever pretty quickly with my jetpack." She says while picking up a fork. She takes a bite of chicken wrapped in noodles and makes a pleased noise as she tastes the meal. "Wow this is wonderful Sage. You are quite the cook. Where do you need me to travel to?"
"Leonard or Ahriman come to mind off hand. The latter may be a bit difficult to work with. Just tell him I'll let him in on the next artifact hunt if he does the personal favor of helping you for me." Tirzah suggests as she lets her hand down and moves to pour herself a glass of merlot from the fridge. "One for you as well Erica?" She offers.
"We'll get to that later." Sage replies to Erica before chuckling at the eagerness the other woman shows and before making a playfully shooing motion. "Please take the food and go sit down." She comments with a light chiding tone before she looks to Tirzah with a faint nod. "Leonard came to mind, but it may be worth the trouble to deal with the Ahriman if he would be useful for your ventures." Sage comments, forcing a little smile to her lips. "Could you perhaps ask him if he'd be willing to meet with me?" She asks, before taking up the other to plates to place on the table where they'll sit.
Erica smiles at Tirzah and nods her head at the other woman's offer. "Yes please." She twirls around some more noodles around her fork before taking another bite. She savors the taste of the food for a moment before chewing and swallowing it down. Setting down her fork she turns her attention back to Sage. Listening in to the conversation she waits patiently to see what Sage wants.
Tirzah nods, pouring the second glass for Erica. "Sure, I'll make sure I do before I leave." She promises firmly with a smile to Sage. Carrying the two glasses and the bottle over Tirzah joins the other two girls at her meager dinner table, the large sconces center piece burning softly.
"Thank you." Sage replies to her partner, before taking a moment to grab the glass of the mixture she'd been sipping from during her cooking. She settles down the table in front of her plate. She glances at the others are the table before she seems to concentrate on the plate before her. "There is a place I've been asked to go help someone. There's some strange things going on there... so, I think I'll need knowledgeable people and perhaps someone that can see things from above." She glances towards Erica and lets her mind enter the other's mind. << A rescue mission. >> She murmurs softly, before she takes a bite from her from her plate and looking over towards Tirzah.
Erica raises an eyebrow curiously as she nods her head slowly at Sage. "Well I can certainly do that. What kind of strange things are happening? I'm just curious as to how dangerous it will be." She picks her fork back up and spears a piece of chicken and some noodles before raising the fork up to her lips and eats it. Tirzah nods silently, taking a sip of her wine before taking up her cutlery to start on the wonderful meal. Her eyes dart between Erica and Sage with the questions, indicating her included interest as she carefully selects a polite bite with her fork. Her silences reigns though as she takes the morcel into her mouth, grinning sensually in approval.
"Well, I still need to figure out how we'll be doing things." Sage comments, before frowning a little. She glances between the two women. "I'm not entirely sure... that's why I'll need to consult with Leonard or Ahriman with what I do know so far." She replies, hoping to push that little topic off to the side. "And, there will be a certain amount of danger... but that's to be expected when you leave the city for somewhere else." She comments, glancing back towards Erica. << Alistair and a village are hostages. >> Her gaze shifting back to Tirzah. "I'm glad you like it." She replies softly, before she moves to take a bite from her own meal. Legwork: Clairvoyance on Alistairs rescue was completed at Mon Oct 12 16:29:13 2009 by Ninsun.
Erica frowns down at her meal before looking back up at Sage. "Hmmm well we will have to come up with a plan after you consult with one of those magic men." She says as she swirls her wine around in her glass. "Do you know what the enemy is? I take it they have a magical nature, but what do you know about them or it so far?" Erica takes a quick sip of her wine before leaning forward on the table paying close attention
Tirzah continues eating contently as the two make their preparations. Her eyes turn to Sage momentarily at the mention of an enemy. She pauses, looking a little uneasy with that slip before she shakes it off, dissecting her meal a bit. She shoots Sage another direct look. "As long as you a prepared to do whatever it takes to win." Is her one condition before she relaxes and starts enjoying the wonderful meal again.
Try as she might to hide it, Sage can't help but wince ever so faintly at the use of the word enemy. One look at Tirzah is likely enough to tell her that the subtle dance of words has stumbled to slippery ground. "I don't think there'll be a choice." She admits unhappily, before she pokes at her meal with her fork. She gives a sigh after a moment, "I suppose you deserve to know... if you say don't go, I'll find someone else. But, I will do everything in my power to stop it." She says, glancing between the two women. She reaches for her drink as she's not much of an apetite right at this moment.
Erica gives Sage a warm encouraging smile. "Well don't worry I'm in. Can't let people suffer like this." She nods her head to herself as she starts eating up some of the noodles. "I'll help out however you want me too. I can scout and look around. We will rescue those that are being held hostage." She takes a quick sip of her wine before giving warm smiles to Tirzah and Sage.
Tirzah shrugs, shaking her head slightly to dispel any notion of actual disapproval as she selects another morsel. "Not my place to decide what you need to do. Just remember, if you can not do it perhaps it is not you who needs to. Otherwise, by all means. I know you can handle yourself, when appropriately motivated." She tells Sage confidently before taking the bite into her mouth.
A glance to Erica allows Sage to offer a weak smile to the support she receives, as she sets the glass aside. Her attention is mostly on Tirzah, however. She considers the words spoken, before she takes in and lets out a breath. "Well, there's a tricky part to the whole rescue thing." She comments, as she begins to poke at her food once more. "I'm not sure what led to the whole situation developing... probably one of those rumours floating about." She comments, "Alistair's been captured by someone and they sent back his horse with a brief message about coming to help him." She huffs a humourless chuckle. "Seems he can talk to Cali in her sleep. Its a trap, but we aren't supposed to know its a trap." She glances between the two women at the table. "Apparently Alistair things Celaeno can be of some help." She adds, "But, I had a vision... a fairly troubling one."
Erica leans forward again as she finishes off the last of her noodles. She sets the plate aside as she picks up her wine glass and looks into the wine thoughtfully. "Well that sounds pretty dangerous but we can't let Alistair be held hostage even if it is a trap." She swirls her wine around the glass slowly. "Well the first thing we should do is scout out the place and try to find out what kind of trap it is. Who is holding Alistair anyways? You haven't told us who is behind this. What happened in your vision?"
Tirzah considers what's said carefully, letting her dish lie idle a moment as she takes a long swallow of wine. "And what do they want to trap you for? What do they want Alistair for?" She asks as she puts the glass back down. "That in addition to the answers to Erica's questions should be all you need to mount a successful rescue."
"Scouting will have a little complication too." Sage comments, "It seems its easy to get in but not back out. If we were to end up on a different world, I imagine Leonard could make a way back like he did on that undead world... but if its a magic barrier or something else, that I'm not sure. Perhaps Cali can ask Alistair for more information on that." She purses her lips, "As for the vision, the village seemed abandoned at first... but once I saw deeper into it... there were a bunch of dead people... massacred because they had no protection... and, in the town hall or whatever the building was... there were 4 robed people chanting, Alistair was trapped in some kind of web... and there was a strange spider... massive and had a skull on its thorax... never seen anything like it before."
Erica listens intently to what Sage says as she nods her head slowly. "But that still doesn't answer the question of who is holding Alistair hostage? Who did he say was doing it? This giant spider?" She gnaws on her lower lip for a moment as she leans back. "Well if we can't scout it out at all then it seems like it is going to be very difficult. I think we will have to wait to see what the magic people can do."
Tirzah's expression flattens as her questions are not yet answered, giving her pause. Recollecting her utensils she takes a moment to pick out another bite. "They will be slaughtered, and he is saved for a ritual.. Sacrifice? If so that's what the trap is for. Fuel. Failure of course would be dire. But before then you can rest fairly assured that anyone who goes into that trap with more than average potential energies is going to be taken alive if at all possible. Means they'll be holding back. You need no such reservations." She advises, a bit coldly.
"We can't wait..." Sage replies firmly to Erica, "He'll be sacrificed, and I know time is growing short." She glances to Tirzah, "Sorry, I was getting to the part." She gives a small apologetic look. She frowns faintly as she thinks over the facts that they do know. She glances towards Tirzah once more with a thoughtful look. "Too many such people could make Alistair expendable." She replies, "The vision suggests they could get by with just him."
Erica purses her lips in concern as she nods her head slowly. "Well then we should get started right away, but I would still like to know about who we are dealing with. Who has Alistair hostage and is going to sacrifice him. But I guess it really doesn't matter that much we are going to have to rescue him non the less." She takes another drink of her glass finishing off the wine.
Tirzah says, "There's a great deal of difference between getting by and more than enough. If at all possible those who are already prepared to make such sacrifices will be prepared to gather as much power as they can. There are others there with less power than Alistair from what you've told. They will be the first to go. Likely without hesitation. Don't hesitate Sage. I know it was hard when you watched me punish the dark warlock I faced. No you face such foes yourself. Will you be prepared for that burden if it comes to you?" She asks, before growing a bit quiet to finish her meal."
"So, we may be facing a foe that will slaughter the helpless people without a thought and we'll need bait to win." Sage comments, an unsettling realization settling upon her. She turns her attention to the meal, and begins to gut her way through eating it quietly. A brief glance given to Erica with a concerned thoughtful look. The other woman has already admitted to being quite normal, after all. Her gaze also flicks to Tirzah, before her mind reaches out to her partner's. << I'm not sure if I want you to hold me tonight or kick me out. >> She admits quietly, before returning to her meal. Her mental presence lingering in her partner's mind.
Erica gnaws on her lower lip for a moment before nodding her head in agreement. "Yes I guess we will need bait. Someone that they will want." She trails off as she holds her head in her hands. "I'm a little out of my depth here, but whatever you need me to do I'll do." She offers as a look of resolution comes over her face. "You don't need to worry about me."
Tirzah smirks slyly at Sage and nods before taking another swallow of wine. <We can do both in that order to appease those sentiments.> She carefully speels out in her mind before looking to Erica. "More wine hun? Gotta finish the year so I can bottle this years." She invites, taking up the bottle and leaning towards Erica's glass. "Ahriman has a lot of energy and the right disposition to deal with things others would have trouble with. I will do what I have to to get him to commit to the rescue."
A slightly narrowed-eye gaze is directedly at Tirzah, but Sage's lips are curled ever so faintly. << I don't suppose I could get a weapon out of the deal too. >> She mentally replies, before letting her gaze shift back towards normal. She glances over to Erica. "Well, if you come, you may need tha jet pack for other reasons now." She comments, before glancing back to Tirzah. "I guess he'll do well then. I suspect we may need at least one other people that can hold their own in a fight... but, I don't think I could deal with two hard cases, so I guess that leaves Sebastien out."

Erica lifts up her glass and offers it to Tirzah. "Oh yes please. I would like another glass. Thank you." She waits for Tirzah to pour her more wine as her lips curl into a little smile. She nods her head to Sage as she offers Sage a warm smile. "Not to worry I'm pretty good with that pack."
Tirzah shakes her head as she pours Erica's glass and then her own. "Wasn't going to suggest him anyway. Too much of a hero, might get in the way of what needs to be done. As for a weapon, name your poison." She offers and sets down the bottle.
Knock knock knockin' on Heaven's doooor. Someone stands outside Tirzah's abode.
The other auburn haired woman's cheer at what could end up being a rather deadly encounter for them all seems to relax Sage a little as she drains the rest of her glass. She offers a small smile to Erica and a faint nod of her head before she looks to Tirzah. "Well, I doubt the weapons I have leftover from the undead incursions will be much help... and aside from a grenade or two, I only have laser weapons... which I've seen let me down a few times now." She comments, "But, I don't think I could handle your plasma thrower well..." She pauses as someone knocks on the door, with a faint frown on her features, she gets up and wanders over towards the door.
Erica lifts up her glass to take a drink of the wine as she nods her head towards Tirzah in thanks. "Sebastien can be a little showy although I don't know how he does in a fight." She swirls around the wine in her glass slowly as she smiles softly at the other woman. "How have laser weapons let you down?" She asks with a curious voice before taking another sip of wine. "I've found my laser weaponry to be quite reliable, but I haven't done all the crazy things you two have." She giggles softly to herself before turning her head to the door and lifting an eyebrow up as she sees Ahriman there.
Tirzah nods, raising a brow as the two girls rise to see to the door. "Howabout the shotgun then, no need for tricky shots. And a hand full of fire globes. Spiders hate fire." She calls out to them before taking a long swallow from her wine. The door opens, and in it rests a creature in a pinstripe suit. Slim, back straight, head down, and ebony mane fanned behind a velvety head. "Human, I--" one step forward, and the words growled cut out suddenly as those dark eyes stare into the room, then narrow as they silver faintly, inspecting is inhabitants. There's no way to tell exactly where his pupilless gaze is fixed, rather like the Mona Lisa. He seems to stare directly back at each of them. "I've come at a bad time," he decides on, more guardedly.
With a quick peek through the hole, Sage opens the door long enough. Her expression suggests she wasn't expecting this person to come by. It takes a moment before she steps away and gestures for the man to enter. "Not at all... you're actually right on time." She comments, before glancing back towards Tirzah. "Yeah, that could work." She replies to the other woman's suggestion.
Erica looks up at Ahriman and she purses her lips together for a moment but doesn't say anything. She takes another drink of her wine and leans back in her chair. Her eyes follow Ahriman and she has a slightly cautious look on her features. Swirling her wine around in her glass she tilts her head slightly to listen. At the sound of the deep gravely voice Tirzah jumps up, vaulting a chair to run to the door. "If three human females don't intimidate you too much. If so, or you have something more sensitive, I can step out for a bit. I'm sure these two can behave in my absence." She offers to the darkling, smiling slightly. "Got a pair of opportunities for you."
Ahriman's head doesn't turn as Tirzah runs towards him. He's fixed on one of the other two, then. "No," he replies simply, eyes silvered over completely now. "Nobody's leaving." His head quirks faintly, and the darkling steps inside. The light fades faintly as he does, as if the sconces were burning out, though if one's to look they're as vibrant as ever. They just cast a little less light. "Though I wonder; how much extra did your last little 'opportunity' net you? The part that you failed to share with me?"
At the sound of her partner vaulting and running, Sage turns her attention to the other woman. She cedes the floor to Tirzah as she realizes the other woman's intent. She drifts a little away in case they need to speak. She doesn't move far when she pauses to look back at the darkling with a caution look at the phrase uttered. Yet the frown that comes to her features gets directed towards Tirzah. It smoothes away as she forces a neutral expression to her face. She'll stay put for the time being.
Erica keeps her eyes on Ahriman as he speaks. She keeps her expression neutral as she swirls her wine around. She finishes off the last of that wine and sets down her glass. Standing up slowly she offers everyone a quick nod of her head. "Well I actually do need to leave. I have to take care of a couple things before it gets too late." Turning her head towards Sage she offers the other woman a quick smile. "Thank you so much for the dinner it really was great. I hope I can have some of your cooking again. Please tell me anything that you come up with and I will do what I can to help out." She walks to the door and smiles at each person in turn as she gets ready to leave.
Tirzah smirks, giving her head a quick shake to deny the claim. "It hasn't been shared with you because nothing has actually been netted yet. Just got a pro working on scanning the signals looking for other digs the other day. If they find more, we'll go inspect it for them. Thats the latter opportunity. Before that I need you to go with Sage and rescue Alistair. Some evil mages are going to sacrifice him if nothing's done, and I've got another obligation. That and I want to give Sage a chance to stand on her own again." She explains before nodding to Erica, reaching for the young woman's shoulder to see her out past Ahriman. "We'll be in toucg." She bids with a sincere smile.
The darkling stands in place, crowding the doorway some, head tracking Erica as she stands to leave. So she's the one. His chin ducks, eyes narrowed, as he silently watches her come nearer. Tirzah's words roll off him as water from a duck's back, though as the smaller woman grows close to leave, one might even catch the hint of a smirk on Ahriman's black lips.
"You're welcome and I'll be in touch." Sage replies to Erica, offering a small smile. She moves a little with Erica, simply trying to offer another obsticle if the darkling should wish to prevent the other woman from leaving while avoiding cloging up the process by her body. It probably means she she has to stop and simply be ready if something should happen. Once the smaller woman is away, she'll drift a little back to a more respectful distance.
Erica gives Sage a quick pat on the shoulder as she starts heading out. She watches the darkling for a moment before she heads out through the door. "I hope to hear from you all soon then."
Tirzah eyes Ahriman once the door is closed behind Erica's departure. "Nothing to say?" She asks, her look becoming expectant.
Ahriman pays Sage no mind. He waits until Erica's gone from sight around the corner, head tracking the woman with the slow determination of a snake, and he speaks several seconds after the woman's soft footfalls have faded from their ears. "What's this Alistair done to get himself killed? A death ritual, I assume. They had all the power they needed at the Solstace."
"Probably answered a call for help when it was a trap... just like they're trying to do again." Sage comments, before deciding that she's not really needed in this conversation. With the potential danger dismissed, she goes to clean up the kitchen now that the meal seems to be done. The dessert she'd prepared untouched likely due to the distraction.
Tirzah nods to Sages conclusion, clearly agreeing with the logic. "Probably, and just because they got a huge amount of power at the solstice, doesn't mean they don't want more. Which puts you at some risk I admit, asking you to go risk your immortal life against those who will see you as a perfect candidate. But, these four clearly think themselves something akin to gods, sacrificing common folks for their own mortal desires. Maybe you'd like to correct that."
Ahriman flashes a brief smile at Tirzah, eyes flashing. "I was wondering when some of your kind would wake up and grow into their potential." He walks deeper into the apartment, abandoning the door with a slow stride to carry him back closer to Sage, watching what she's doing. "Still. Taking these people. There would not be ... police? No government retribution for using them?" He peers back at Tirzah, a little smile on his face. Looking dreamy.
Content to clean up a little even with an observer, Sage doesn't seem self-concious in her movements. "From what I saw in the vision, the village looks like it was abandoned. There's also something strange about it since you can enter the place but not leave. Not sure if its magic, or something else." She probably wont launch into a full blown cleaning job. Enough to get things soaking and stuff looking tidy."And now if you'll excuse me, I'll go freshen up." She adds, before she heads out of the kitchen to fetch some clothes and duck into the bathroom.
Tirzah nods to Ahriman, her expression growing grim as she is very aware of what Ahriman means. "There is not. In fact that is the main reason I want you to go, because I know you will do what needs to be done. I told you I'd look out for you, just took a while for the dividend to come." She reminds the darkling, forcing a fond sisterly smile
