With the sun struggling to break through the clouds, the cold bleakness has left Plaza Park with few - though not quite no - visitors. Snow drifts are being blown slowly from place to place by the omnipresent wind, and though none is presently falling, it's making its way into the air.

If one were to look, near the inside gates, nestled just on the sheltered side of a large tree, Joachim is huddled with a notebook. His robe drawn tightly about him, cowboy hat pulled low, he seems lost to the world. From time to time he'll shift away from the wind, or kick the accumulated snow away from himself.

Stepping into the park under a new hooded cloak, Rune makes his way here. The blowing wind pushes the cloak back and forth, in and out, giving a lone desolate look to the man. Turning to look in each direction of the wind, he finally turns towards Joachim's direction. Not spotting the man at first or recognizing him, till he shifts and somewhat of his features can be seen, does Rune turn your way and begins to slowly walk. As he does, the wind casually blows his hood off to reveal his identity.

Not noticing Rune's entrance into the park, Joachim continues writing, lifting his head once or twice to the heavens in thought. After an extended period of writing, he closes the notebook, exchanging it in his knapsack (which is at his feet) for a sandwich. He begins unwrapping it, frowning, as it's somewhat frozen.

Each step crunches into the drifting snow as Rune approaches closer to Joachim. Then when he is close enough he says, "..good afternoon friend." As he says this his head turns in such a position that his glasses catch the glare of light that peaks through the clouds, and gives a sense that the glasses are solid in color rather than clear.

Joachim looks up from his sandwich with a smile, not immediately recognizing the approaching Rune, but after a moment's thought the smile grows more intense. "Ah, my friend the Architect." Content to leave the nickname to his own interpretation, he continues, "I'm afraid I've no more food to offer you, at present. And here I almost grabbed another sandwich this morning," a brief laugh, "of course, you may not have wanted it anyway, as it's rather more solid now."

A sharp grin grows on Rune's face as you mention the last part about the frozen delicacy. "..if offered such a treat, how could I resist?" The man looks around and then back at you, "Mind if I join you in this ever so temperate weather?"

"By all means, you're welcome to join me, though there's not a particularly suitable seat," Joachim gestures to the snowdrift that's surrounded him as evidence of his statement. "I suppose we could, of course, move somewhere else," he says, casting a glance around the tree while taking a bite of the stiff sandwich.

"I rather enjoy this weather to tell you the truth," this said in a more serious tone, and of course accented in the dialect of Dragonese he seems to original speak. "..what have you been up to since last we spoke? Finding the city to worthy of saving?" Again said in a serious tone, yet said as he looks towards the direction of the clouded sun.

"It's an interesting city, though to say how I find it might be somewhat embarrassing, truth be told." A slight grin crosses Joachim's face as he seems to recede slightly into memory, "It's invigorating to be around not only so many people, but so many different ones. Even if I do wind up making a slight fool of myself from time to time because of it," he shakes his head and drops his gaze. "Ah, but I'm not sure I answered your question…"

Rune chuckles under his breath and shrugs under the heavy cloak. "..only if you want to. Yet, tell me..what are your thoughts about what we talked about last we met? I am not usually one to be so direct, but I have to admit that I am very curious." As he says this a large gust of wind blows sending particles of snow against both of our East sides.

Joachim raises his head again - turned away from the gust - a smile still gracing his lips. "It's an interesting thought, and so long as it's done in a way that helps, and does what one might see as 'good,' it's a noble goal. Interestingly phrased, perhaps, but. . ." he shrugs. "I see potential for a lot of good to come from it."

Rune looks down at you through the harsh wind, but paying the price as he has to look down, take off his glasses and clear his eyes of the melted snow in them now. While holding his glasses and looking down as he wipes the melting snow on them off, "..I am glad. I have reached out to people, but I haven't heard back about buying a warehouse or something in the Dregs. Yet, I think that if light is to come to this city, then it needs to happen in the darkest place."

"I certainly wish you well in the endeavor. It may be difficult to get the manpower, but should there be anything that I might do, by all means ask." Taking another bite of his neglected sandwich, Joachim begins to stand, gathering his knapsack, and dusting off some errant snow. "Though I might suggest, if you do plan on lighting the dark, perhaps it might be best to try to gird yourself with what light you can find, first?"

Rune grins as he listens to your words and places his glasses back on his face. "..but I have found you. I think that a ray of light that you are, is enough to start the beacon to the heavens. For every beam must start with a simple ray.." With that Rune smiles once more and then turns slightly. "..now I just need to find someone in this city that can summon or commune with spiritual entities.."

Joachim lowers his head to the flattery, "I think that perhaps, it would be best to find more than I. From what I hear, there are several groups around the city who are valiant, in their own right, and may be glad to lend you assistance. Of course, this is all simply rumour and conjecture, on my behalf." He lets the last sentence go without comment, simply turning partly away and focusing his attention on the remnants of his sandwich.

"..I have, no worries. There are two groups I have talked with, and one I am approaching. So with the last, it will be all we need. Yet, nothing wills stop me. I shall enter the dregs to give hope, food and shelter in the name of the Light. If it kills me, then so be it. And so shall the vision I have seen, be yet a fallacy." This all said as he stands half turned from you.

Nodding slightly, Joachim turns back, looking somewhat more somberly to Ruin, without saying anything. Simply letting the last sentence stand by itself, he turns his eyes to the heavens again, letting the wind whip around him, finally finishing his sandwich.

Rune gives out an intelligent smirk and then starts to take his leave.

Turning fully toward Ruin, Joachim watches as the man slowly leaves. "Be well," is all that he says, simply standing as just a few snowflakes begin to fall. Tags: joachim, rune
