Rasputin's Deli is a lively place, normally a short man is behind the counter serving up orders of beef, brisket, chicken, pork, sausage, fish and just about every other type of meat product you can imagine. Rasputin's is a well known secret to low, medium and high class people of all type. Rasputin has all sorts of customer's coming and going at all times of day or night. He isn't open 24-hrs, but he might as well be. As you walk into the Deli, next to the door is a small lunch counter which faces out into the street. Opposite to the deli counter are four small booths. Both of these locations serve as eating space for those that choose to grab a quick bite of food or one of Yakov's and Rasputin's famous five meat monster deli sandwiches. Most people don't use these booths, but the lunch counter is constantly being used, as it provides a great people watching vantage.

On a cold rainy day, the Deli seems to have become a refuge for people seeking a little shelter and a warm meal. Sage's distinctive coat is already hung on the coat rack, and she's just received her order as she turns to consider the rest of the place. There's a slight buzz in the air as her idea wasn't unique. She begins to wander through the tables to look for a free spot.

Maya is seeking the refuge, the woman's raincoat protected by the lacy style umbrella she carried. She backs into the shop, shaking the brolly off. She turns, the water having dampened her hair, her natural grin missing as she makes her way to the counter, her mood obviously low. Paying little attention, she glances briefly at the menu, ordering stew and bread in a disinterested tone.

It takes a moment for Sage to stumble across a open table, Sage exhales softly in relief as it seemed like she might have to improvise for a moment. She sets her own meal onto the table. She's opened for hot cocoa and warm sandwich. She briefly noticed someone else had entered as she was searching without realizing who it was. She turns to look to see who it was, before seeing a woman that seems familiar. "Maya?" She calls over, hoping to judge whether its the same women before she starts to say anything more.

Maya gets her bowl with a roll of bread on the side, turning as her name is called. Her gaze moves to seek out the person using it, and she gives Sage a look of brief blankness before recognition dawns. Then she grins, a grin that doesn't warm and bring her eyes to life, but she moves over. "Sage, right? From the Alibi?" She makes a hand gesture, indicating the seat opposite Sage, "Mind if I join you?"

Sage's gaze considers the other woman before a little concern enters her eyes. She smiles faintly as her name is recalled, "Yes, that was me. And, please do..." She says softly, before settling into her chair. "You have the look of someone that needs something nice to happen..." She comments, "but, I would have invited you regardless." She adds with a little humour before she goes to blow softly on her hot beverage before taking a brief sip

Maya's eyes do warm at the comment and she settles herself opposite. She starts breaking the roll into pieces of equal size, resting them around the edges of the bowl, her face thoughtful. "Have you ever been in love?" She asks abruptly, looking up at Sage through her lashes, her lips pursing up. "I mean like, fumbling whenever they are around and blushing and stammering.."

Content not to dive into questioning the woman, Sage briefly considers the meal the other woman choose before turning her attention to her own. She takes a bite out of the sandwich and begins to munch on it. She pauses, raising a brow slightly at the question. Her gaze lightly considers the other woman briefly, but she finishes off her bite to swallow it before she can respond. She smiles softly, "You could say that." She replies softly, "I'm guessing since you're not blushing or stammering, it isn't me." She adds in good humour as it to lighten the mood a little.

Maya's mouth curves into a smile, idly pushing the bread pieces into the stew, methodically doing every other one until they are all floating in there. "No. I asked him to dinner. He said yes." Her voice is slow, thoughtful. "How do you know for sure? I mean, certain. If I do a litmus test on something, it is clear. Logical. This isn't... I thought it was and then..." She looks up, her mouth twisting, her face troubled.

"Logical?" Sage asks with a light tease in her tone, giving the woman an amused smile. "If you knew who I was partnered with... I doubt you'd think it was logical." She gives a brief shake of her head, before she looks to Maya. "You sound... like you're into science." She adds, raising a brow slightly as if to turn it into a question. She turns her attention to the hot chocolate briefly once more as it is still too hot to sip more than briefly.

Maya gives Sage a slightly puzzled look before the light dawns. "Oh I guess I forgot you don't know what I do...

Maya gives Sage a slightly puzzled look before the light dawns. "Oh I guess I forgot you don't know what I do..." She picks out one of the soggy pieces of bread, popping it into her mouth before she speaks again. "I work as a doctor... well, scientist, doing lab work and coroner stuff at Knights, except soon I'm moving to the KDPD because I thought it wouldn't be a good idea to date my boss and ... I wanted to ask him." She frowns at the stew, adds salt and comments, "And he said yes to dinner."

A slow nod is given to the other woman, but Sage keeps her expression mild with a hint of amusement to avoid seeming rude by the gesture. Her interest seems to increase as her eyes open fractionally larger and she shifts slightly to more attentive posture. "Then, perhaps you could help me with a task I will be involved with in the further..." She says, before pausing to draw herself back from chasing down what she would like. She nods simply to the other woman. "And, are you having doubts now?" She asks softly, before shifting her attention to the sandwich briefly since the question could prove to give the other woman an awkward pause and she doesn't want to be staring intently at the other woman should it happen.

There isn't even a moment of hesitation, Maya's openness obvious, "Not so much about him. He is amazing, just so ..." She waves a hand, unable to describe the wonderfulness that is the man. "But last night, I was talking to a friend of mine, he used the shower, and then I was showing him the corset, and it was..." She frowns slightly, nibbling on her lower lip, a blush actually rising in her cheeks. The task is ignored for a moment in the rush of confidences.

Sage's lips purse once she's done with the new mouthful as she considers the comments. "Ah..." She replies softly, "I think I know who you mean..." She comments softly, with a small smile. Her brow raises slightly as the next part unfolds, before she gets a look of amusement. "Mikjel... unless you have anyone else you lend the shower too." She adds the second part with a little amusement. She pauses to look around them, before leaning slightly forward towards Maya. "Would it be easier if you just thought the rest and ... I sensed it?" She asks quietly in a slightly hesitant fashion since this could well end the conversation and more if taken poorly.

Maya's blush deepens and she glances around, before images of the scene last night flash from her mind, her own telepathy strong enough to share them with Sage. Standing in front of the mirror with the corset on, Mikjel holding her tightly from behind, telling her what he wanted to do, her breathlessness and response and then a wave of confusion about lust and love. The blush deepens and Maya pokes the bread around in the bowl, her appetite gone. "You see?"

Sage's surprise at having the other woman touching her mind is evident, but it fades as she finds it a plesant enough surprise. She isn't quite sure what to do while the impressions are sent to her, and she considers them as she idly fingers the handle of the mug. << I didn't know you could do that. >> She says softly mentally, but seemingly pleased to find the communication is easier than with her partner. "Yes." She says softly, unable to continue her own meal for the time being. << He excites you... where Joachim is a man that's easy to like... >> She mentally comments, "Is it about what you want or what is the right thing?" She asks softly, hoping to keep appearance of a regular conversation up while hiding some of the context.

"That is the problem. I mean, I am the problem, because I don't think you can love two people, not at once, it doesn't make logical sense." She leans forward, finally pushing the abused stew aside, her face serious. "Miki makes me shiver, makes me anticipate feelings... but the dir... Joachim makes me stammer and nervous and want him to like me." She sighs heavily, resting her chin in her hands, her elbows on the table. "What was it you asked before?"

"No... you can't have both." Sage agrees, before smiling softly at the other woman. She notices that the other woman doesn't seem to respond in kind with expressing more sensitive things over mental communication. "But, you can love people for different reasons." She adds, having felt different types herself. She takes a card out of one of her pockets and slides it towards Maya. It has her contact number. "Oh, I need someone's help figuring out what's polluting a lake near Kingsdale and how to avoid getting affected ourselves." She comments, before she pauses and reaches out to the other woman's mind once more. << As for Mikjel and Joachim... it seems your body craves Mikjel, but that might not last if that's all there is... and you care for Joachim, but you'll have to know that he'll be busy a lot. Ask yourself what would make you happier in the long run. >> She gives a soft sigh as she isn't used to speaking so much into another's mind. "Contact me anytime." She adds.

A spark of interest shows in Maya's face as she glances at the card. Hazel eyes narrow and she nods slowly, "I'll come out and look if you want. I could take samples, and we could analyse them and ..." There is suddenly a shrill beeping from her pocket and she fumbles for a page, shutting the noise off. A flicker of a frown and she looks up, a wry smile on her lips. "I have to go. But I think you are right. I need to think it over.." She is sliding from the bench as she speaks, uncaring of the listening ears and sensitive topics. "I'm used to things that don't last, I'm good at affairs and flings." She shrugs, "I'll call you, about the lake..." A wave and she is gone.
