Introducing the actors in this Russian drama:

Rasputin Khlysts is a short man (4'6" / 1.3m), with a young stout strong build. He has thick course white hair, slicked back onto an equally as stout looking head. His skin, in stark contrast with the hair, is a rich olive skin tone. This stalwart looking individual has a well groomed and braided, matching in hair color, beard which is about six inches long. It is tied with a very nice piece of black leather. The leather tie is neatly tipped with silver aiguillettes, which have the smallest pentacles at the ends.

This well groomed individual is wearing a smart looking three piece suit. The suit is well tailored, definitely not an off the rack suit. It is done in soft grays and blacks it has warm but not inviting look to this stern looking fellow. On the left breast of the suit, there is always a fresh looking white rose, delicately pinned to lapel with a silver lapel pin.

The entire outfit is accented by the shinny shoes, and gray gloves. The last touch, being very ostentatious looking cane which the short person walks everywhere with. The cane, has small gems encrusted within it. Gold and silver inlay work twirling around the gems, weaving up to the cane's collar. The collar, supports a wonderful looking handle made of crystal.

Valerie(#2074PXc)

Her hair is metallic gold. No, really. It's not blonde; it's actually mirror-bright gold, although it moves like ordinary hair. It rather full, and easily reaches a few inches past her shoulders. Yes, this is probably the first thing anyone looking Valerie's way notices, but it's probably a wig or something. Yeah. Her facial features are delicate but clearly defined, with high cheek bones and a stubborn jaw. Her eyes are a cold, steely blue. Looking down to her mouth is like finding a pouty lipstick ad superimposed on reality, while her nose is sternly-drawn and average-sized.

She's tall at around six feet, and quite statuesque at that, given her athletic, possibly amazonian build and (as they say) natural poise. Valerie is wearing a short-sleeved blue peasant shirt with a natural tan leather belt wrapped around her slender waist, where she has a sheathed sword. She wears kidskin pants, which run down to sturdy boots apparently crafted of rough animal hide. Thrown on over this is a heavy and rather ugly, hooded winter coat that may well have been acquired in the Dregs. Given Kingsdale, it probably screams "concealed arsenal" to most observers.

The location:

Kingsdale - Yakov's Deli

Rasputin's Deli is a lively place, normally a short man is behind the counter serving up orders of beef, brisket, chicken, pork, sausage, fish and just about every other type of meat product you can imagine. Rasputin's is a well known secret to low, medium and high class people of all type. Rasputin has all sorts of customer's coming and going at all times of day or night. He isn't open 24-hrs, but he might as well be.

As you walk into the Deli, next to the door is a small lunch counter which faces out into the street. Opposite to the deli counter are four small booths. Both of these locations serve as eating space for those that choose to grab a quick bite of food or one of Yakov's and Rasputin's famous five meat monster deli sandwiches. Most people don't use these booths, but the lunch counter is constantly being used, as it provides a great people watching vantage.

Standing behind the meat counter, waving a large cleaver, is a small well groomed man. He is wearing a fresh clean white appron, and talking to a few of the patrons who are eating there lunch, "Nows, this isn't cold. Mother Russia is cold, winters so white and so colds the snotz froze before it thought about dripping out of your nose." He laughs loudly, "Your spitz, would freeze before it hit the grounds. Da, dat would be cold." Rasputin chuckles loudly as one of the patrons says it is still cold her during the winter.

The door opens and Valerie steps inside. She looks around carefully, taking in the deli as well as the customers before she makes her way further into the shop. "Rasputin? I see you have a job opening," she states in a calm voice.

Rasputin without looking at you he laughs, "Da, da, you are hired as long as you don't get cold in such a light weather, not like these folkz." Then, as the crowd chuckles, Rasputin turns and looks at you, and blinks a few times, "Otkuda vy? Yzveenee." He just blinks a few times.

Valerie comes closer, looking Rasputin up and down thoroughly. "So you are Rasputin the dwarf, renowned wizard?" she asks in a calm voice and flawless Russian. She completely ignores the customers, which is a promising start on her new career.

Rasputin shakes his head as if shaking off a daze, "Please excuse me, I meant no insult. You caught me off guard." he says in Russian of course, "Da, I am Rasputin Khlysts. As for great wiziard, I'm not sure. I am a very good butcher of fine meats. You say you are looking for a job? As a waitress, or perhaps an assistant butcher?"

"You have a reputation as a wizard," Valerie persists. "Two other wizards will call on you soon, I expect. They wish to trade spells." She crinkles her nose faintly for one reason or the other, but then continues, albeit on a different line of conversation. "I have previous experience as a waitress. I have none as a butcher, except the most basic."

Rasputin nods slowly, "Da, I see. A spell trade you say?" He shrugs and chuckles. He seems to think for a bit and then smiles, "So we do a late breakfast and an all day lunch. I don't do meals on Saturday and Sunday." he ponders a moment, "My last waitress helped with the cutting of the meat as well. If you are interested, in learning I'll teach you." he pauses again for a few moments, tuggin on his beard and sighs softly. The sigh seems to carry a lot of emotion with it, perhaps about the last waitress, "The job doesn't pay much in the the way of credits, but all of the tips you get are yours. And I'll make sure you have enough meat for a meat each day, da." he then just strings together a bunch of yes's, or rather da's. For no reason, then says to himself, "Net. How does it sound?"

Valerie nods in response to the first question. Yes, a spell trade. She doesn't volunteer any additional information. "It sounds good. Should I start immediately?" Apparently she doesn't have any questions. Not even about this mysterious waitress that worked here before her, and that's really quite a shame. "I am Valerie," she then notes, and holds out her hand.

Rasputin sticks out his hand. He is strong, but not superhumanly, "Wonderful. Please, why don't you come by tomorrow and I will show you around. Da? Does that work?"

Valerie has a firm handshake as well. "Yes, I will come here tomorrow morning." So there you have it.

Rasputin nods and smiles, "Da." He then goes about his buisness. Tags: rasputin, valerie
