The town of Laramy is in a state of near panic. With Kingsdale thus far politely refusing to commit any sort of heavy artillery into the defense of their town, they have begun exploring mercenary options. Unfortunatly, the only heavily armored group in the area, Dante's Demolishers, has sensed a lucrative oppertunity and is demanding more money than Laramy has. Meanwhile, Tyrannosaur tracks have been found as close as half a mile to town. People have started carrying around MDC firearms every where they go and are braced for an assault. They might be able to repel a Tyrannosaur or two.... but they'll take heavy losses. They just aern't equipped for this.
Someone has been hunting small Dinosaurs close to Kingsdale. Rumor has it that this individual owns a SAMAS of their own and has been thinning the numbersof small carnivores near to the city. Whilst it doesn't help Laramy and the like, it does mean that it's a little safer closer to home.
The city is abuzz with rumors that a persistant vision of some sort has been seen by many. What does this herald?
No word has been yet heard in regards to the Kidnapped family and the 'demon and the bottom of the lake'.
A fatality has occured. A trader, by the name of Cyrus Jones was found with his pickup truck on the side of the road roughly fifty kilometers from Kingsdale. His vehicle was disabled and he was shot by some sort of energy weapon. Everyone is blaming everything from each other, to the CS, to robots again. At least this one wasn't dinosaurs this time.... right?
Psychics receive another vision, this time with information that the covert agent is in place and the operation begins.

Sunday, Febuary 7th, 105 PA
A massive explosion tore through the factory of Ackbar Electronics, one of Kingsdale's largest E-Clip producers. Responding even before the authorities and emergency services were five heroes. Sev Arris, Dr. Kelley, Raina, Qur and Kaomas. The former lacked the armor to enter the burning building and so directed emergency services and looked after wounded outside. Within, the party found that the explosion was not an accident and came under attack by an 'murderous killer death robot' as Qur put it. Of an unknown design, it quickly disabled the Headhunter, Kaomas, beneath a pile of rubble and very nearly killed Raina before it was stopped. Upon near destruction, it is said to have activated some sort of self destruct sequence which finished the gutted and unstable building -- causing it to collapse. Only the brave actions of Doctor Kelley, very nearly leaving his companions to die to extract eight surivors enabled as many to live as they did. One near casualty was Kaomas, with emergency crews, along with his companions, labouring long into the night to free him from the rubble. Fortunately, he was found with his armor intact and was reported to be 'highly pissed off' but in reasonble condition. Orders from a grateful dictator have commended these men and women as heroes, and each has been awarded ten thousand credits along with free repairs to their weapons and armor. Rumor has it that parts of the 'killer death robot' were also extracted and given to the party, but this may or may not be a fabrication..... either way, someone knew exactly how to hurt the city, and the price of E-Clips in Kingsdale has risen by 200 percent.

On Monday, Febuary 09th, 105 PA the leaders of Whykin signed a 'limited defense pact' with the Coalition States. In every other example throughout history, this has meant one thing: Coalition Troops basing in the city and shooting everything non-human that comes near. We have learned that a sizable force has already been deployed to Whykin, most notably the 52nd Air Wing -- a crack SAMAS unit nicknamed 'Piotr's Pounders' as well as a company of infantry, several Spider-Skull Walkers and a platoon of UAR-1 Enforcers.
Overtures towards the town of Laramy have already begun. Envoys from the Coalition are reported to have offered the Mayor a proposal: Expel all non-humans, psycics and magic-users from the town and surrender heavy arms and Coalition troops would be stationed there to protect it. So far, he has rejected said offer

Increasing Rifts activity, with dinosaurs coming through the rifts, making the outskirts of town dangerous. Activity is described as unnatural.
Descriptions circulate of raptor packs hunting.
Farmers report odd animal deaths, and the sensation of being followed. A vaguely humanoid shape with a bulbous head and two glowing red 'eyes' is reported.
Locals have taken to carrying firearms and are extremely on edge.
Farmer Sam Peckenforth, located outside of Kingsdale has put up notices saying that his three young sons have been kidnapped by a demon that lives at the bottom of a strange lake.
Psychics report a vision of five figures discussing putting a covert agent in Kingsdale.

Today, Newton Technological Industries finally released its highly anticipated "Carnivore" line of personal firearms to the open market.
Psychics receive another vision, during the day. This one is of fight damaged buildings, and contains a message of hate for all those that walk on legs.
Psychics receive a third vision, a discussion on species six, and instruction to purify the region.

Newton Technological Industries announced a breakthrough in materials engineering. Being that this is less than a week after they have set up shop in Kingsdale, many people were quick to call it bunk until NTI came clean about having outside assistance. Though they cannot yet make a marketable project, analysis of an 'alien object' gave them '... enough information to advance the quality of armor compounds that they can synthesize by roughly a decade' and stated that 'personal armor built using these new materials may well be in the future. They have chosen to call this new material 'Ronanotium' after those responsible for bringing it to them.

A group, apparently lead by Doctor Kelley and Zaphod had an encounter with two large robots outside Kingsdale today. They returned to the city, mostly unharmed, with a giant robot corpse in tow.

Today NTI Technologies brought online their newest creation and employee -- OPSaDOS. (Organic Personality Simulation and Disk Operating System). Apparently in development by NTI's creator and lead staff for over twenty years, 'she' is claimed to be at least quadruple the intelligence of the average human and capable of performing many, many more calculations per second. Cutting edged technology is used in her storage systems and George Newton claims that she may be the most advanced AI (Artificial Intelligence) of human design and manafacture on Earth.

According to insiders at the Golden Carafe apartment complex tonight around 1850 local time locals heard screaming and moaning coming from an apartment suite. Originally thought just to be perhaps another long-night passion filled romp passerby report that instead what took place inside was nothing less then a titanic battle with an evil spirit!

At approximately 3pm today (March 9), a professional agreement was reached in which the Vogon Constructor Fleet will operate on behalf of - but not by control of - NewTech Industries. Dr. Kelley, spokesman for the VCF, indicates that the agreement is extremely beneficial to both NewTech and the VCF.

Yesterday, in the Kingsdale Park, the serenity of the lunchtime reverie was broken apart by shouting and gunshots. Drug abuse has become a serious problem amongst the homeless and desperate in our lovely city of survivors and intelligence. When a person who has fallen through the cracks of our society first falls into the desolation of drug abuse, they fall to a second all-time low when they run out of the minimal amount of credits needed to feed their addiction. These people often become dangerous in their drug-addled mindset

Saturday, March 28 105 PA, lights in the west signaled a factor five dimensional event near the city of Whykin, the largest dimensional anomaly outside of the Devil's Gate in fifteen years. The Devil's Gate is housed at the super nexus point over old St Louis, frequently boasting dimensional events of fifteen to twenty three on the Weber scale. Single rifts often cause a two or a three. At the time our resident mystic expert John Simms pointed to the lack of leyline disturbances as a sure sign of unnatural intervention. Eyewitness accounts now tell a more complete, and horrifying tale.
Plarbo Raksnutch, a trapper and dinosaur hunter, is one of many fresh refugees seeking shelter in Kingsdale's walls. "Rifts was everywhere," he reported wild-eyed. "These metal giants came falling out, like angels from Heaven, tearin' and blastin' everything in their path. They was aimed right at Whykin. Must'a been a hundred of 'em, maybe more. Big ones, little ones. Every one come ta punish those Coalition-appeasing bastards."
Scattered reports place large sections of Whykin on fire, with smoke visible for tens of miles around. The 52nd Air Wing, 'Piotr's Pounders,' suffered nearly one hundred percent casualties and the loss of their heavy mechanized units, reportedly six Spider-Skull walkers and a platoon of the UAR-1 Enforcer Robots. Losses amongst Whykin's own defense forces are estimated at between seventy and eighty percent casualties.
Reinforcements from the Coalition Devil's Gate Complex, including the elite 13th Armored Recon 'Devil's Gambit' arrived within the hour via massive Death's Head airlift. One report placed four of the giant transports over Whykin, disgorging nearly a thousand CS troops. The battle raged through the night, rapidly descending to cleanup with the huge infusion of CS troops. The speed with which they responded lead several experts to wonder if they didn't know it was coming.
Currently given the designation of the 5th Missouri Armored Brigade under the command of Colonel Samuel Master, the Coalition force includes the famed 13th Recon, 212th Armored 'Samurai,' noted for their ace Enforcer pilots, and the 12th Airborne, known for its large skycycle contingent and 'first on the field' reputation. The occupation force quickly reached an agreement with the city council making Whykin a permanent CS ally, the only significant civilian population under CS authority in Missouri and second only to the Devil's Gate complex for the largest CS military presence in the state.

Today, a fair just outside Kingsdale was attacked by three robots. One of these attacked the women and children at the back of the fair, and their lives were only saved by Kaomas, a member of the VCF, giving up his life to defend them. There are rumours of an alien survivor, the owner of a burnt out hoover bike. These are unconfirmed.

Whisperings have been emerging from distant lands of a force that is preying on two notable groups: The Federation of Magic, and Tolkeen. Though all of the attacks are occuring far to the West of Missouri, it is a still a disturbing event. These 'raiders' are using equipment that has not been seen before, with a black and white skeletal styling that is vaugley reminiscent of the CS's death's head visage. They have been spotted to use flying power armor similar to the CS's own SAMAS and several other high-tech war machines.

This is Janine McDonald, reporting from KDN. We here at KDN have just received some shocking news. Our sources assure us what you are about to hear is the actual recording having taken place just over 3 months ago.. We here at KDN deeply apologize for having not received this information sooner. Apparently, the Coalition States have been masking any information regarding this recording.
Again, we have it on high authority that this is the genuine recording.
- crackling over the speaker* For those with video, you see a black and white picture of a man, dressed in the black uniform of the Coaltion States. This person, can only be Emperor Prosek.
A deep voice crackes to life, "To embrace the inhuman is to lose our humanity." The voice continues, "To use magic is to forsake technology. Magic and the acceptance of the monstrous, alien and inhuman is the poison that eats at our people!" Lots of cheering.
"We will not be like the weak fools in Tolkeen, Kingsdale, Lazlo, and other domains where men consort with monsters.... the Coalition States are proud and strong." Static and cheering.
Static for a few almost a minute with garbled speaking.
"We are the people of Earth ... Ours Alone!" Cheering from a crowd then more static. "I am your salvation... Join me for the good of all mankind!"
Cheering and then after a cut in the audio.
"Campaign of Unity. We must rejoin... Free Quebec... must rejoin... the Coalition States unanimously agree to declare war on Quebec!"
More cheering and yelling.
Then the recording cuts out. And there is silence again for a moment or three,
Clearing her throat, "That is all of the information we have currently. Please stand by as we will bring you any new information as we receive it." The woman clears her throat again, laboring to breath, "This is Janine McDonald signing off."

This is is Janine McDonald, reporting from KDN. We have just received news from former Coalition State of Free Quebec. The Coalition States has declared war and is in open conflict with Free Quebec.
There have been at least three naval engagements and a deeply entrenched Free Quebec military is currently holding Coalition Forces at bay.
There are reports that the Free Quebec's Juicer forces and Glitterboy squad's are laying waste to the CS forces, but not without taking loses of their own.
We have obtained this footage of the conflict from the front. I will warn our audience that what you are about to see may disturb young viewers.
The video displays gun camera footage from what appears to the a Free Quebec Glitterboy.
"FQGB Squad Q12, target acquired. Permission to engage? Over?" The inferred gun camera swings over towards the side of a CS Tank Unit. "FQGB Squad Q12, engage permission granted. Fire at will." The gun camera moves a little, then the white cross-hair lights up red. "FQGB Squad Q12, all squad fire! Fire! Fire!" The side of the CS Tank erupts with impacts as an entire squad of Gliterboys destroy the tank in a single volley. There are are three bodies crawling out of the glowing red CS tank. Their warmth shows up on the infrared camera site. "FQGB Squad Q12, No prisoners are allowed. Remove crew." There are an additional three explosions. Each of the three crew members are turned into a cloud of hot looking chunks are spread all over the ground. "FQGB Squad Q12, area secure?" There is chatter as each of an 10 man squad chimes in 'Clear' "FQGB Squad Q12, area clear. Moving forward." The same voices says. "FQGB Squad Q12, confirmed." The commanding station confirms.
The camera turns back to Janine McDonald who seems a little disturbed by the footage.
Obviously the former loyalist state of Free Quebec is taking the Coalition States attack on their new independence extremely serious.
"If anyone has additional information, KDN would be willing to pay top dollar for any and all accurate news. This is Janine Mc Donald, signing off."

The screen flashes the name 'Tolkeen' and has flames rolling up under it. Then a very dramatic 'At War' slams on top of it.
"This is Janine McDonald, reporting from KDN. A small group of refugees have just enter Kingsdale with a horrific story of the CS's unprovoked and vicious attack on the free city of Tolkeen."
"One of the refugees had a small recording video camera. On it they have evidence of the first wave of attacks. Please view with us, the Coalitions inhuman attack on the peaceful city of Tolkeen."
The camera flips over to a grainy video showing people huddled in a bombed out building. Missiles are screaming through the air exploding left and right. The camera is lifted up to look out the window. It catch a glimpse of a large group of CS Soldiers and Skeletal shaped robots moving through the streets of this village.
The video cuts from the scene of the CS Soldiers, to that of the refugees running from building to build. Explosions and gun fire heard in the distance. A woman is crying and sobbing about a child who was killed. But they keep running. The video goes black.
Janinie Mc Donald returns and says, "As you can see, the CS are mercilessly killing anyone in their path of destruction. Our thoughts and wishes go out to all of the Innocent people caught in the cross fire. No word officially from Tolkeen or the Coalition States as to why they have attacked. We will bring you more as soon as we have information."
"Again, the Coalition States have attacked Tolkeen. Remember, KDN will pay for any reliable information regarding this or the Free Quebec war."

Good evening, this is Janine McDonald with the Kingsdale Daily News. KDN has just received a copy of a message which is being sent out by the Free city of Tolkeen.
A video plays, where there is no video, there is audio.
Greetings, my name is King Robert Leonard Creed. I am the ruler of the Free City of Tolkeen. Many of you know, that the city of Tolkeen has recently been attacked by the Coalition States. This attack was vicious and completely unprovoked. The city of Tolkeen and our sister city Freehold are peaceful and have never engaged in warfare with the people of the CS. It is they with their raciest and speicesest irrational zealotisim who have attacked us. They have attacked us out of irrational fear and misunderstanding of the unknown.
This message is to all of those freedom loving people in North America. I am sending messages out to all of the major citys in the region, and requesting that it be passed to the furthest corners of the world. I am asking for all of the freedom loving people to come to our aid. Please, we do not have the unending resources of the brainwashed people of the Coalition States.
If you are a freedom loving person, able bodied, know how to use a rifle or power armor. If you are a mage or psychic warrior, please come to Tolkeen. Help us show the Coalition States that their reign of ignorance will not be tolerated. My goal is not to fight the Coalition States, but to show them such an overwhelming force they will turn back and stop their inhuman actions.
Again, all fighters of Freedom please come to the aid of Tolkeen.

So far the Kingsdale Council has not been reachable for comment. Many of the people on the street both worry about Tolkeen's chances against the Coalition States, but also worry about stirring the CS from attacking Kingsdale. If nothing else, we will be watching.

Good evening, this is Janine McDonlad with the Kingssdale Daily News. KDN has a breaking report of distrubing news from the Tolkeen and CS Front.
A video plays, there is a small band of Refugee's outside of the Kingsdale gates. They are beaten and bruised. All of them look starved and have horrid look of fear in their eyes.
A reporter with a mic thrusts it into the face of one of these Refugee's. "Sir, sir. Please, repeat your story. The Kingsdale people need to hear your words."
The man looks up, a large gash on his face, scorch marks in his hair, "Well, well. They aren't running anymore. They CS. They are moving forward. Slowly. Burning everything. Killing everyone. I didn't see them take any prisoners." He breaks down and begins to cry.
The Reporter stops a moment, "Please, Sir, can you continue? What happened? What was the name of your village?"
The man shakes his head, "No, you don't understand we were a small town. 2000 people. We are the only ones that made it out. All of the rest, are... Gretchen. Gretchen." The refugee collapses and begins just shake and cry.
A small child rushes over, as if to protect the man, "Leave papa alone. Moma died. They killed her. She melted down." The small child stands in front of the man, "Now go away! Go away!" He turns around and throws his arms around his father.
The camera looks back to the reporter and you hear over the speaker in a female voice, as if someone didn't mute their microphone, "2000 people killed. Did he really say that?"
The report seems to snap out of it, "Uh, right. Uh, as you can see the reports are truely," the reporter looks back to the man and child, "horrible. Uh, umh, back to you." The report looks at the group, then the camera man pans over to show the entire group of twelve people.
The news room comes back to the KDN station. Janine looks distrubed, "Uhm. Please, stay tuned. We will bring you a follow-up as soon as information is aquired." The news brief just ends...
