Sunday morning is still on the quiet side. Desmond comes in with an air of determination and purpose about himself, steady stride carrying him right towards the electronic catalogue straight off. Little does he know of computers, but past instruction by a helpful staff member has seen that he can use this thing. Though as he settles himself down and gets right to it, his manipulations of the keyboard are slow and deliberate. But that doesn't reduce his determination.

Stepping into the library in the early morning, Robert seems to be quite happy almost to the point of whistling. Fortuantely, he manages to restrain himself from earning the wrath of anyone else nearby. The sight of the large kill-cat doing a hunt-and-peck at a computer terminal catches his eye, so Robert decides to head over to investigate. "Hey, Desmond," he greets in a low-pitched voice once he's closer. "What brings you here today?"

Desmond finishes entering his search and keys it in just as Robert comes upon him, his head lifting a moment later to regard the young man. "I am seeking information on Juicers," he replies without hesitation. A pause before an elaboration, "On the matters of the detox procedure. I have heard some things about it, but I have never sought true resources before."

Scratching at his head in thought, Robert glances at the search Desmond entered. "Really? Well, I've heard that Kingsdale is one of the biggest places around for human augmentation." He chuckles a bit. "Too bad you didn't take up this topic during your stay in the Clinic. They would likely have talked your ear off," he says with a slight chuckle before sobering slightly. "What brought up the subject of Juicer Detox, anyway?"

Though the search has ended, with a few results, Desmond hasn't noticed yet, his focus on Robert. The question of his why prompting a few extra moments of silence as he considers his words. "I feel a need to learn more, to be knowledgeable of the procedure.. the risks and the results." Another pause before he adds, "Aimee's brother has come to the city. He is one who has walked the path of such augmentation. She is.. understandably concerned. I know not how to advise her on this.. nor how to speak with him on it. I believe that knowing more will help me in aiding them in this."

Robert scratches the side of his nose thoughtfully. "Well, let's see what your search pulled up then." He then shifts to absently tugging on his chin. "I guess it all really hinges on if her brother wants to be detoxed, and you'd best find out why he got juiced in the first place." He keeps his eyes on the monitor's results.

Desmond looks towards the monitor and peers at the text. Still new to reading, his eyes scan over the text deliberately. The simple search effective enough to give him a few good potential sources of information. As he considers them, he responds to Robert's comments slowly. "I know, in a sense, why. An event did come.. one that made him feel he was not strong enough. Something I can understand, in a way." His expression sobers as he muses and pulls a small notepad from within his jacket, along with a pencil, starting to jot down the shelf notations in his simple, neat block script.

Robert frowns thoughtfully as he looks at the information. "I see. I suppose that finding oneself weak in today's world isn't that uncommon." He scratches the back of his head as he makes a sour face. "I'm not much one for encouraging such augmentations. Juicers die in a few years. Crazies just go nutty." He shakes his head slowly. "Cyborgs are the least liable to having something seriously wrong with them... but living as a machine." He shivers involuntarily.

"I would agree with you, but it is not our place to decide the paths of others," Desmond rumbles, a bit distracted in tone as he finishes his careful recording of the numbers. Pausing then to lift his eyes to Robert again. "But I can understand why one would be reluctant to change once it has been done, even with death a surety. I have been told I am as fast as they can be, as powerful. It is hard for me to imagine being like one such as yourself. No offense meant, for as you are to me, there are those who are stronger than I. But when one grasps power.. potence, I cannot imagine it is easy to let go of it. To be.. 'weak' again."

Robert reaches out to pat Desmond on the shoulder. A broad grin decorates his face as he says, "Naw, I know I'm not anywhere near as strong as even normal humans can be." He taps a temple with a finger. "I use the strength up here to compensate though. Use my head and my spells. That way, I can easily get out a jam." He then shakes his head. "I've heard.. rumors that Juicers who detox after a while can get a little crazy because they lose a lot of that 'superpower'. I suppose it'll take your Aimee a lot to convince her brother it's worth a shot."

Desmond nods his head once. "I could sense that you are of those who use magic," he rumbles. "A good strength.. something I do not know a great deal about." He rises from the station, but lingers as he considers the rest of Rob's words. "Yes.. I have reason to believe he is not sure of his path.. if he should seek detox or let himself continue to the end. I hope that we might convince him to linger in this life longer.. that there is more to seek." A slight frown comes to him. "The word of time, no doubt. But I plan to welcome him and do what I can."

Robert tilts his head to one side as he gives a bemused grin. "I'm sure he'll appreciate the welcome. If he is regretting it, then it's easier to convince him to set the borrowed strength aside." He then makes a negating gesture. "Anyway, I came here to do some research on that 'Heart of Water' that Roulin told me about. However, I did want to know if you were going to be up for that dino tracking expedition that I told you about when you were laid up."

Desmond frowns slightly as he considers briefly. Then, "I am unsure if I should go with you. With Aimee's brother here, she may have need of me. My words, my ear, simply my presence. But I will speak with her on this.. have you yet decided how you shall proceed with that?" As he asks the last, he turns, making a gesture to invite Robert along as he starts to head towards the shelves.

Robert scratches at his chin as he grimaces a bit. "Well, I was trying to hook up with RBJ Adventures, but I kept getting the run around on when would be a good time to meet." He then makes a disgruntled face before shaking his head. "So, I was going to touch base with you and Etienne about it first. Then see about getting a couple others from our band and setting out to find out if the dinosaurs and robots are connected."

Desmond nods his head once as he slowly seeks out his first reference. "I am unsure if I can promise aid, but I will speak to Aimee on this. I know little of the surroundings, unfortunately, as I have had little experience in the environs around the city. But Etienne.. he seems knowledgeable. I would ask that you keep my apprised, I will surely let you know once you are sure of your path, what I can offer you." He pauses, turning to lay a hand to Robert's shoulder. "I hope you understand my position on this."

Robert gives a quick nod. "Well, definitely check with your keeper there, Desmond. Don't want her jerking you up by the short hairs. Just let her know that it's for Atticus, that might help if she's aware of what he's doing." A quick scratch of the head later, he comments, "I'm more after you for heavy support. Etienne mentioned that last time he went tracking the dinos that he got beset by a pack of raptors."

Desmond frowns faintly at Robert's initial words, though his response is measured and steady. "Aimee worries a great deal for me, as I do for her," he states. "Already she has had cause for concern and I am not keen to test our union in such a way again." There just a dash of warning to be had in those words. But the next words are relaxed, normal. "I will come if it is proper. And I will let you know once I have spoken to Aimee on this. That it is merely a journey to investigate, rather than one to seek and destroy, should give her less pause than otherwise."

Robert either doesn't catch or doesn't care about Desmond's oblique warning on Robert's humor. He chuckles a bit. "Trust me, I don't want to tangle with anything that we don't have to fight. It's purely recon work." He pauses a moment before adding, "But I'm not optimistic enough to say that we'll avoid everything out there. We just need to be able to fight long enough to disengage from trouble."

Desmond nods his head once to that. "I would agree." He turns to slip down between two shelves as he continues. "I will admit to being curious as to what occurs. If you plan a gathering to speak of this, I would like to attend. If only to be knowledgeable of what occurs." He pauses, pulling down a thickish book, marked 'Detox and You'. He flips it open to scan a few pages carefully.

Robert gives a nod as he sits down in a nearby console to start his own search. "Yep, I'll make sure to give you a yell once I can get ahold of Etienne and see who else he might have in mind for this little jaunt." He quickly starts entering his own search for various texts and tapes. "I'll make sure to have a back up for you incase your missus says you can't go."

Desmond comes over to the console where Robert settles after a few moments, pausing nearby as he offers, "If I come across any that might be interested in such a task, I will be sure to give them your name. In the now, I think I shall delve into this topic I have chosen. I wish to absorb as much as I can before my time grows too short. I wish you good luck with your own searches."

Robert looks up from reading a few synopsis of some of the more esoteric texts. "Thanks, Desmond. If there's anything I can give you a hand with, give me a call or drop me a note." He turns back towards the search as he writes down a few books he wants to examine on elemental phenomenon and ancient elemental lore. "Wish that I had more time of late to come do this," he comments to himself.

Desmond carefully pants Robert's shoulder as he glances at the screen Robert copies from. "There never seems enough time, often," he agrees. "I will remember your offer.. if there is something I cannot find, I will be sure to ask you about it." His hand lingers briefly before he lifts it and moves away. Seeking a spot to settle himself and delve into his own reading, cracking open the tone to study the text within diligently.

Robert finishes writing down the books he needs before standing up and heading to the stacks. Nearly ten minutes later, Robert emerges with about six books and two vid-discs. A light muttered curse is heard as he sets down the books on the desk he claimed. "Guess someone else got to that one before I did," he mumbles before plopping down and sprawling over the chair as he beings to flip through one of th books.
