MERCHANT'S PLAZA
The remnants of a gathering is dispersing, the hunter known as Sithik is looking through the wares of a merchant selling supplies for the purpose of trapping and hunting. Jogging nearby is Rubidia. The sight of woman floating off above the market might be caught as well.
Gabriel comes out from the direction of the gates, dressed smartly in company uniform. His eyes are far enough away that a gathering of remnant merchants might not even be noticed. Perhaps he's looking for someone, or perhaps he's just trying to get to the office in time to close it.
The crowd already dispersing Rubidia shrugs, folding the paper and tucking it in the hem of her skirt for now before she starts to continue jogging south. Probably heading for the park, lots of people jog there.
Sithik is busy negotiating a fair price for the supplies he is requiring, though he is no Carpetbagger, sales and bartering are not his forte. Not happy about it, he pays the price asked, he does need the items. After which he moves on keeping an eye open for anything else that might appear useful in his daily hunts.
Only time will tell if he's as fast as Rubidia, and Gabriel guesses that he isn't. He sprints as fast as he can to get as close to the potentially shining woman as he can before calling out in a thick drawl, "Rubidia? Got a minute?" His clothing and belts work nicely, with weapons staying exactly where they're supposed to, with no unnecessary or dangerous jiggling.
Rubidia does jog very quickly. But luckily for Gabriel she also has a great sound setup in her headset. She turns at the call, stopping to job on the spot as she waits for the older fellow to catch up. "What's up?"
Gabriel closes in before speaking in a low tone. "I need to talk to Sage, and maybe even you. I need some connections that I don't have. I left a message with her this morning, but haven't heard back."
Sithik spots the old man with the familiar drawl calling out, though only an idle look is given to the pair out of curiosity more than anything. For the most part he continues to his own business, letting others conduct their own by themselves.
Rubidia shrugs, not appearing to see how this is worth interrupting her morning exercise yet. "Ok. She's at the spa as usual." She tells him and points the way. She does have the courtesy to wait and see if he only needed that confirmation before continuing though.
"Yeah, I dropped it there. But what about you?" Gabriel asks. "You've got fans, right?" He's obviously holding back information, but not making a fuss of trying to make it look like he's not trying to hold it back.
Eventually the hunter, Sithik, vanishes in the crowd of citizens doing their own daily shopping, blending in as just another person out and about.
"Yeah, and they all know the best way to get some of my time is to come right out and ask for it." Rubidia points out to Gabriel with a bit of a sigh before she finally stops jogging. "I take it you want to talk elsewhere?"
"Only if you want to talk in detail," Gabriel comments. "This can be quick. You've got fans. Any important fans? Or any fans who know important people, the kind of fan who might want to get in close for a minor favor?"
If Rubidia was cold before she's down right sour after that question. "I've got one important fan, Sage. Everyone else is great, appreciate their love and support, but equal. I wouldn’t favor one over another for nothing, let alone some kinda gain. That would be selling out nearly on level with prostitution."
Gabriel rolls his eyes a little, but starts to fade back. "C'mon, Ruby, when have I ever treated you badly. I'm not trying to whore you out, I'm saying that if someone can get me somewhere that I think I should go, a kind word from you might send that person in my direction."
"Maybe, maybe some kind words from yourself would take you there without me facing possible scandal," Rubidia replies with a firm shake of her head. "You are going about this the wrong way. Where do you want to go?"
Gabriel mutters to Rubidia, "... and everyone I've tried... speak to about... seems... of which... able... work... Unfortunately,... lofty..."
Rubidia shakes her head. "Neither do I. That’s why you are going about this the wrong way. They may know everything about me. But I don’t know them from any other fan. How could I?" She points out, relaxing a bit. "I am a good speaker though, so maybe I can lend influence in a way that wont cause scandal?"
Gabriel smiles and nods. "Anything that you can do to give me a little credibility. I've got some name recognition, but I don't think that anyone would really care to hear from me. Help would be greatly appreciated."
"Two things you have to do then. Inform me, of EVERYTHING. And make an appointment. We can go from there." Rubidia states with a nod and starts jogging on the spot again as it seems she may be able to continue.
"I'll do that. But *everything* can be a lot," Gabriel chuckles, giving her a 'go on' nod down the road. "I'll have Gracie deliver a folder to you at the spa. Have a good run, tell Sage that I said, 'hello.'" He gives a tossed-off non-salute, and fades back just enough to let Rubidia go without any awkwardness.
