Kingsdale - The Alibi

The club is a liberal mix of modern and classic styles with a dark, warm lean to the hardwood and metal decor, dressed up with velvet and leather. Set up about the stage with attached DJ station and dance floor at the center, the entrance is set to one end of this, the bar to the other. The entrance itself is tightly controlled. There are always two well dressed people at the front, a bouncer to check each person coming in and another watching the drum and closet lockers that hold all patron weapons.

A broad , semi circular stage extends from the center of the widest wall, rising two feet, with lights rimming the edge and hidden in scaffolds high above. A rich red velvet curtain lies ready to sweep about and veil the stage itself from view. The DJ booth is set up right next to the stage, set into the same wall. With a thick window and biometric locks on the two side doors, one to the stage and the other to a set of stairs down, the equipment within is secure. Within a C shaped desk and racks hold the sound equipment, all linked into a central computer. All done up in sleek, dark cases, mixing well with the warm, wood paneling of the booth's exterior.

A dance floor is central to the club, laid out in a broad circle before the stage. Laid out in a semi circle opposite the stage side of the dance floor are a series of round tables, with smaller two person sized ones at the edge, with larger four person tables in the next row and a few grand six to eight person tables on the outer edge. All staggered to make for the best view for all to the dance floor and stage. To one side of this central focus is the bar, a broad affair taking up much of the shorter wall in width. The bar itself is a mix of modern and classic, with the simple, elegant hardwood design of the bar itself mixing with the display of alcohol behind it, opaque plastic shelves lit from within to highlight the wide selection of common and uncommon liquors for sale. The barstools themselves, lined up in a neat row, mix dark metallic stems with comfy red leather seats.

The last day of the weekend has just slipped past moments before, with the world spinning inexorably onward toward the coming Monday morning. But be it because those here have flexible schedules, or are simply closing their eyes and trying to forget about the coming workday is anybody's guess as the club remains moving to the smooth music. In the low-key atmosphere, Celaeno can presently be found sitting idly at the bar, a simple martini glass sitting effervescently to her side in the lights as she watches the floor swell and ungulate.

Having decided to enjoy the sense of the emotions of others setting a temporary escape, Sage has been hidden away in her own corner of the dance floor. Her dancing subdued with the lack of her normal dance partner, she seems to sate her desire for the time being as she moves to leave the dance floor. Making her way towards the bar, she seeks a little liquid refreshment. Her gaze drifts about as if to seek any she might recognize.

Celaeno's gaze drifts with the tides of the floor, one hand shifting to her inexplicably sparking drink before beginning to swirl it ever so slowly. With an almost dainty sip, she half-watches as Sage makes her way in her direction - one more glance on a sea of them - a slight frown making its way to her lips, perhaps uncertain of any familiarity from such casual glances.

The woman sitting at the bar is considered by Sage, before she decides to settle on a stool nearby. She takes a moment to order herself a particular drink by sliding the bartender a piece of paper with a recipe scribbled onto it. As she waits, she looks back to the other woman sitting nearby. "Hey..." She says softly in a casual greeting.

The frown dissipates as the woman takes up residence nearby, any uncertainly becoming moot with the opening of conversation. As the greeting is given, Celaeno elevates her drink while ducking her head in reciprocation before taking another small sip. As the moment passes, she begins innocuously in the middle of a conversation, "Been enjoying a night out on the town, hmm?" she'll ask, turning her head with a warm smile before her attention shifts back to the floor. "Or is it just a nice relaxing evening?"

Briefly Sage's attention will drift away in a moment in response to the bartender's settling the drink in front of her. She murmurs a thanks before turning her attention back to the other woman sitting nearby. A faint smile coming to her lips in response to the warm smile. "Oh... probably more than the former than the latter." She concedes, briefly glancing back to the dance floor before looking back to the other woman. "You almost look like you're waiting for someone..." She comments simply.

Celaeno downs the rest of her drink in a prolonged motion, contrasting sharply with her timid sips previous. "Well, if you're enjoying yourself, then all's right with the world," she begins, gesturing for another drink, but taking a moment to adjust the order, "If it's not champagne or beer, it shouldn't have bubbles," she says half to the bartender, half to the world at large, before settling down to the bar at large. "And, well, I guess I might always be waiting on somebody. Nobody in particular tonight, though."

A faint arching of her brow comes to the prolonged motion, but Sage doesn't comment on it otherwise. She nods faintly to the comment, "I guess so." she replies, before taking a sip from her own drink. Brief amusement comes to her features at the other woman's comment to the bartender, but she only smiles softly to herself as she looks away from the bar area. When she hears the other woman speak once more, she looks back. "I see..." She comments, even if she doesn't quite understand. "I guess you're just here to enjoy yourself as well?"

"Maybe not enjoy, enjoy," Celaeno says, emphasizing the first word of the two, "but it's a pleasant enough time, really - if a little bit slow." Collecting her new drink, this time in a taller, thinner glass, she continues, "But I guess that can be nice, time to time. Can't all be explosions and exhilaration." A sip is taken before she grudgingly says, "I guess you have to fit the drinking in somewhere," she says with a sidelong grin.

Sage considers the other woman's answer before she gives a faint shrug to it, "I'm not really a clubber either... but this place seems nicer than some of the other drinking places I've heard of." She comments, before she pauses to sip from her own drink. She gives the other woman a faint look of amusement to the comment about explosions and exhilration, "You remind me of other people I know." She comments simply, before giving a small smile and shaking her head in amusement.

"Do I?" Celaeno asks, watching the woman for a moment, "Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I mean, even if I do think it's a little bit early for you to be making these decisions, if it's all in my favour, well, that's perfectly fine." She lifts her drink skyward for a few moments, peering through it from the bottom, "And yes, there are worse places to drink, even if I think sometimes worse can be better."

"Well, I suppose the good or bad thing could be debatable." Sage admits with a mildly humourous tone, "But, I count these other people among my friends... so, it can't be too bad." She comments, before considering what the other woman is trying to determine by looking up through the drink. "Personal taste, I guess." She comments, before turning to her own drink.

"I don't know. I've a few friends who're some pretty awful people," Celaeno shrugs, not apparently meaning it in the pejorative. "They're fun, but I'd hardly want to be said to resemble them. But that's all right, I'm sure you meant sparklingly moral men and women of a great and indiscernible character. Who occasionally enjoy going to a place where they don't mind the occasional thrown elbow."

"In a city like this... I'm not surprised." Sage comments softly, but she doesn't carry any negative tones in her voice. Although, she can't help but smile with a little amusement at the assumption. "I'm not sure that I would go quite that far... but its possible." She comments, before chuckling softly. Then she tilts her head slightly as she considers the other woman. "I think I may have seen you before... but I can't recall at the moment if we've been properly introduced."

"Probably, probably," Celaeno says with a dismissive wave of her drink. "I drift around from place to place. Name's Cel," her far arm is extended across the whole of her body, a gracious smile and bob of her head completing the scene. "And I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't go anywhere near that far, personally."

In contrast, Sage sets her drink down briefly to more easily shake hands with the other woman. "I'm Sage." She replies, giving a brief firm handshake with a small smile on her lips. She chuckles softly ast the other woman makes the last comment. "Glad to hear it." She comments with amusement, before she takes up her own drink and sips from it lightly. "Nice to meet you." She adds.

"The very same," Celaeno says back, draining off half her drink. "I do believe, that having met you, however unfortunate it may well be - that I will have to take my leave. I'm sure I'll see you around here and there, as I tend to drift, as I said." Her eyebrows go up for a moment, eyeing Sage.

A small smile comes to Sage's lips, but she takes the next comment that comes in stride. She nods faintly to the other woman's words. "Alright... take care, then." She comments simply, considering her drink briefly before deciding to wait until the other woman has become to depart for indulging in it again.

Celaeno drains off the remnants of her glass before spinning jerkily onto her feet. A sudden downward glance seems to remind her that yes, she is in fact wearing stiletto heels. "Well, then," she begins, clearing her throat as she stands up straight, "I will certainly do what I can. Try to keep safe, yourself, and if you run into any ornery dragons, well, my suggestion would be to just smile and wave." And with that cryptic message, she walks out at a brisk glide.
