Kingsdale - Nut and Bolt

Apr 29 18:25:26 106 PA

Its early evening at the Nut And Bolt, and the night is just getting started. Ema is standing near a large bulletin board where both paper and electronic adverts have been posted, her hand coming up to rip off a number here, or write something down there. Its imposible to see which adds she's focusing on, but she seems lost in thought as sshe browses.

Leonard enters the less than familiar techno bar, eyes glancing over the interior in search. No one is immediately noted, so he steps in further to clear the doorway. If he is looking for Ema specifically, she's missed, but he might not be.

Seeming satisfied with her search, Ema tucks a few sheets of paper into a pocket on the side of her skirt before turning around and blinking a few times, allowing her eyes to readjust to not staring at a board. She brings her hand up to rub the back of her neck as she heads gracefully over towards the bar, stopping short when she notices Leo and approaches, "If we keep meeting like this, I might being to think you're following me." she says, smiling playfully.

Leonard looks over that same bar, at least until Ema greets him and he turns. "Evening, Ema." He offers a casual smile before chuckling at her comment. "I'm not stalking you, at least not yet. You were my second stop, actually."

"I must be loosing my touch," she says, her lips pouting out in obvious jest, "Second stop huh? Need something from me?" her face is mostly all business now, though a small smile can be seen curling her lips.

Leonard smirks to Ema, the two conversing not far from the bar. "You and others. Now that there's a few more intending to go out on this little venture, it seemed a good idea to bring everyone together ahead of time. Introduce, collaborate, and develop more of a plan that 'not get killed.'

Ema nods, "Well thats a good idea, I'd like to at least know who i'm crawling into a foxhole with." She tilts her head ever so slightly, smile becoming a grin, "I wouldn't mind knowing who can do what, and what sorta abilities we have at our disposal." she nods, considering, "When were you hoping to get this little gathering started?

"As soon as is convenient for all involved." Leonard motions vaguely about the place. "Bek told me that she could be often found here, so I came to inform her. You're just down the hall, and Flare usually frequents the other bars."

Vixen comes into the Nut and Bolt casually, her eyes downcast for the first few moments of her arrival, undoing the buttons of her coat. The wind is a bit too high today. But as she finishes with that, her head lifts and she glances to the side, then forward as she's approaching the bar. Her eyes narrow as she spies both Leo and Emayn present and near to each other. But within two steps she's schooled her expression to something more casual. She'll sweep right up to the two of them.. well, up to Leo mostly, coming in a bit to his side to wrap her arms about his waist. "Finally found you," she murmurs, giving him a warm smile. As she leans into him a little, her head turns towards the other woman, a subtle chill coming to her expression. But she says nothing.

A brief eyeroll greets vixen's icyness, her attention going back to Leo as she thinks about the matter at hand, "Interesting, well I don't know any of these people, I don't think, but I definetly available whenever is convient," she risks a brief look Vixen's way, lips tightening just a bit before grinning Leo's way, "You seem to like to travel in interesting company, though, all ladies from the sound of it."

Leonard turns towards Vix as he's suddenly wrapped, a wide smile offered her. His nearest arm returns the favor. "Hey. I'm usually easy to find." Ema's observation draws a mild smirk. "So far, but it isn't intentional. There may be others joining in, depending on how soon we need to leave."

"Try and not sound too jealous, chick," Vixen murmurs idly, keeping her level expression on Emayn briefly after before she turns a warm smile on Leo. "Yeah, especially when I got a few eyes out there, keeping watch. Sometimes they see just what I need to see." She turns her attention back to Emayn, considering her in a more neutral way, but otherwise being more passive aggressive than otherwise.

Ema's face scrunches just a bit as she tosses Leo an apologetic look before turning to Vixen, her voice raising a little bit, her body language confrontational, "What the fuck is your problem with me?" she almost growls, fierce dark eyes regarding the other woman, "You got what you wanted, I was never trying to steal your man, and i've backed off now that I know the score, yet you keep acting like you want me to put your ass on the ground. What the fuck do you want?"

Leonard has little time to decipher Ema's look before blinking at her outburst. His unoccupied hand lifts in a mixed gesture of defense and placation. "There's no need to be so harsh nor rude, Ema..."

Vixen releases Leo and shakes her head, looking at him before she faces Ema, arms lifting to cross her chest smoothly. "First, you knew the score. Leo told me that you knew he was with someone. You did it anyway. That makes you trash in my book cause rule number one is you don't make a run on another girl's man. Never." That being a firm, adamant point. "Second, because you did it anyway, I don't trust word one that comes out of your mouth. You weren't one inch sorry walking out of there, looking just as pleased as could be with yourself. Third, go ahead and hit me if you want. Won't solve nothing, except prove to me you're trash." Vixen states, her eyes given a subtle narrow. "I got every reason in the world to hate your guts. Maybe when you apologize for it and make it sound like you mean it, I'll reconsider, but until then nothing changes what you did."

"I'm sorry, Leo, but this shit has to stop, one way or another. I'm not going to let your girl take cheap shots at me whenever she wants too just because." she sighs, eyes closeing as she takes a breath, "I don't want to be overly rude, but still, I'm the one who got fucked over here." eyes narrowing, lips curling into a sneer, "You weren't exactly a factor that night, sweety, he didn't say you were an obstacle, and I would have stopped if he'd wanted me too, but I didn't know you, and I'm sure you've made choices that have hurt strangers before, so don't get all holier than thou with me. I'm sorry I messed things up for you, but take a look around you, shit happens every day, and if this is the worst of it..." she scoffs, "then count yourself lucky."

There are likely things that Leonard could say, possibly even those that he should say. Unfortunately for him, no easy words come to mind from either category. With his prior achievements in mind, he has more chance of making matters worse than better. In lieu of adjudicating, he just frowns, looking between the two.

"Yeah, and I solved that by sticking with my man," Vixen retorts simply. "I'm making it up to him for pushing him to that point. See, admitting you fucked up ain't hard. But if the worst of your problems is a little verbal abuse, count yourself lucky. See, that weak line of bullshit swings both ways. You want to keep acting like you did no wrong, go right ahead. But don't act like I have to treat you civil." She keeps her firm stance and her eyes fixed on Emalyn, defiant and wary. "You want to end this? Own up."

"If you honestly think i'm going to apologize because my behavior doesn't comform to your sense of morality, then you are sadly mistaken, Mrs Prosek. We live in a diverse world, with diverse people, and you know what, some of these people are going to do things that are strange or alien, and if youre gonna act like a three year old every time someone does something you find upsetting, then you're gonna be pouting for a long long time." Ema's left hand is clenched in a fist at her side, a faint glowing surrounding it as she battles to keep herself in control, her earrings chiming as she she trembles for a moment, "I'm sorry things happen this way, but I will not apologize for who I am. And you should treat me civil because you're a grown woman, and thats how adults act."

A wince pulls Leonard's frown deeper, and he finally steps between the ladies, eyeing Ema. "Maybe it would be easier for you to be treated civilly if you acted it, first. This isn't a show of whom has the larger fangs, and you /both/ need to stop provoking each other."

Vixen smirks faintly and shakes her head in response to Ema's words. "Right back at you, chick. You hang on to your weak arguments if you want, every one of them can get turned right back at you word for word. I don't see why you care what I think of you anyway." With that she turns her head and and gives Leo a casual smile before turning. She brushes her shoulder with his and murmurs. "Go on and do your talk, I could use a drink." Moving past him, she bellies up to the bar.

A long sigh escapes Ema's lips, her eyes close as her face calms, her fist unclenching, as her expression becomes a mask of stocicsm. She looks up at Leo a moment before following after Vixen, facing her as she leans against the side of the bar, "Look, I'm sorry I hurt you, and I'm sorry that who I am offends you so completely," she takes a deep breath, eyes closing again and opening slowly, "I like Leo, obviously, but if him and I being friends is going to bother you, and if I'm going to have to be watching my back for you, then i'd just assume drop him all together. Is this going to be a problem for us?"

The great thing about Friday nights, besides the killer tips, is that they usually schedule two people to work the bar. Unfortunately, Bek's fate as being the smarter of the two has earned her the chore of taking stock and marking everything behind the bar down on a datapad and she's been at it for the last three hours, ignoring everyone in order to get it done. And done she is, finally. She pops up from where she'd been crouching in front of a cooler and flips her head back, sending her long ponytail sweeping up in a high arc and back behind her so that it falls along her spine. She twists and tosses the pad over alongside the register, no doubt where the club's owner can check it over later tonight.

Leonard's delayed intervention seems to have had as much success as silently frowning. Not that it's normally a surprise that Vixen can hold her own, especially in verbal confrontations. Conversely, he also has little doubt why some might not get along with her, even in a general sense. She is given a nod, but before he can even comment, Ema strides right along wih her. At least she apologized? He now moves after the both of them, but remains on the periphery once mroe.

Vixen pauses as Ema comes after her, the young woman tensing up slightly. But as Ema speaks, she relaxes faintly and turns, her arms lifting to casually cross over her chest. When she's done and has asked her questions, Vixen lifts a hand, one finger extended. "First.. while maybe I've entertained thoughts of you taking a bullet before, wasn't my bullet. I don't kill people over petty shit. Maybe if I thought you were a threat to me, I'd try taking you out first, but that's self preservation.. and I can see you understand that. But no.. I ain't gunna try and kill you so long as you keep it below that level too." With that said she lowers the hand back into her cross and considers Emayn quietly for a few moments. "I don't know you.. only what you did. That's what I have beef with you over. Hell, maybe if I had those mind powers you had I could tell if you were telling the truth, but all I have is my gut and my good reason. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt." She extends that hand then. "Apology accepted. I'll keep the comments to myself and be civil. More than that.. well, we'll see how things go. We ain't friends, but that don't mean it won't ever happen. I've seen stranger things before. I don't mind you and Leo being friends, but I don't like backstabbing. You keep it straight and so will I. Deal?"

"Deal." Ema says as she takes a step back, seeming happy to leave it at that as she turns to try to get the attention of a bartender, a task harder than it seems. She looks back over at Leo, "Well, now that that is settled..." another side step, allowing him room to squeeze in between her and vixen, "We can get back to talking about business, I guess." pleasantries are forgotten now for her, and Ema's face sports a pensive stare she looks down the bar.

Clack. Clack. Clack. A trio of synthetic cardstock coasters slap down on the counter in front of Vixen, Leonard and Emayn, dealt out like playing cards from the deck held in Bek's hand. It's really not so hard to get the bartender's attention, but she's smart enough to hang back until the hostility fades away. "So!" she pipes up, looking from each person to the next with a cheery grin. "I'm thinking you'll want some drinks and probably a double."

Leonard looks between the two, then does so again. Finally, he smiles and nods. "Business it is then. When are you available for a meeting?" One hand moves to Vix's waist while the other lifts at Bek's suggestion. "I could definitely use one... and when are you not occupied here, Bek? I'm trying to arrange a gathering of the pack, as it were."

Vixen frowns faintly when there is not shake, but she shrugs it off, turning to the bar. She grins at Bek and says, "Strawberry tequila, just enough ice to keep it chill, won't take too long to down it," she says, leaning her side against the bar, facing towards Ema and Leo. When Leo addresses Bek as part of the gathering, she looks over the young woman again, her near arm slipping out to slide behind his back. "What's your special skill?" she asks Bek.

Ema's smile returns as the bartender's attention is turned to her, her expression one again pleasant, "Bourbon and Bourbon." she says, making eye contact as she drums her fingers on the counter, turning to Leo as Bek goes about her drink making, "I'm always free, i've got nothing but time, lately." She turns and watches Vix and bek as they talk, apparently curious as to the answer of Vix's question.

"Special skill?" Bek repeats the question, fixing Vixen with a blink of her glittering gold eyes. "Well, I do make a killer strawberry tequila!" She leans in a little closer to the other woman, lowering her voice playfully. "I call it the Mind Bleeder." A wink, a nod to acknowledge that she heard Emayn's order too, and she dances off to grab at glasses and bottles and set to mixing.

"I might as well have one of each of the ladies'." Leonard notes to Bek with a chuckle at her specialty as she moves to handle the orders. Ema receives a nod. "Well, that's an open enough schedule. I suppose it just depends on Bek, here, then. Flare is still seeking employment, last I knew." Last, and certainly not least, he smiles to Vixen. "You're more than welcome to attend, even if you don't accompany us. I'm not much in the planning department."

Vixen is casually amused with the response, an easy grin coming into being. "A good skill to have, though I mean on the battle field. Me, I do information. And I make computers sing," she offers up before looking to Leo. "Sure, I might sit in. I'm not exactly military, but sometimes I get crazy ideas that just might work." Her shoulder rolling a little as she gives him a squeeze about the middle.

Ema says nothing as she leans against the bar, her foot catching a near-bye stool which is she drags over and sits on, taking a minute to adjust her skirt. She leans against the bar once more now, one elbow planted on the bartop, her free hand coming up to brush her hair behind her ear, the bell hanging on her lobe jingling softly at the touch. She says nothing for now, just watches those around her with casual interest.

Rebekkah comes back around in relatively short order, carrying a quartet of glasses in her hands that she places down in front of each of the three. "One mind bleeder, a bourbon-bourbon, -another- mind bleeder and -another- bourbon-bourbon," the last finding a home before Emayn. Bek leans on her elbow on the counter and tilts her head towards the other girl, passing a mischievous smile between them as she gestures with a lazy hand at the glass. "Extra bourbon for you, hon."

Leonard returns Vix's squeeze and grins. "I'm quite fond of your crazy ideas." He thanks Bek and picks up his Mind Bleeder to take a swallow. "What is it that you do in the field? Unless you'd prefer to discuss it in a different venue." Vix already posed the question, but he offers it again. A brief glance goes Ema's way, but he already believes that he has a fair idea of her particular talents.

Vixen takes up her glass lightly with her free hand, casually rolling her shoulders when she gets no response. The glass is lifted and tipped back, a healthy swallow taken before it gets set back down again. "Leo, I wanna go through some of my stuff with you.. see if any gear you want, I got. Got a whole bunch of camping stuff, in case you don't yet. Don't got no plans to do any so might as well not let it just sit if you can use it. Not many weapons, but I could lend you some flashbangs and smoke grenades if you promise to try and get 'em replaced."

Ema smiles as her drink arrives, and she gives the woman behind the bar a casual once over as she stirs her drink with a pinkie, which she removes and puts in her mouth before reaching out to lift the glass to her lips, sipping slowly from it, her smile becoming a grin, and approval fills face, though if for the woman or drink is hard to say, "Thanks!" she says, her eyes darting back over to the two on her side of the bar.

Rebekkah straightens up and backs out of Emayn's personal space and grabs a glass for herself too. Ice and cola, nothing special, but she doesn't answer Leo's (and Vixen's) question until after she's had the first sip. "I'm surprised you didn't ask that before," she remarks to the man before sliding into the matter at hand. "I'm a power armor operator. Robots too, I guess, but I haven't seen many here, and either way -I- don't zotting have one."

"Anything that might help, but that I wouldn't blow my own foot off with. Of course I would replace anything I used, or broke." Leonard smirks to Vix at her offer, but there is gratitude beneath his mirth. He nods to Bek as she offers her own credentials. "Anyone that wanted to help is needed, so it didn't matter, then. A lack of robots shouldn't be a hindrance, since we are hoping to be as inconspicuous as possible."

"That's why I'm not giving you any of my stash of the real deal, babe," Vixen murmurs to Leo, giving him a sly little grin. "Flashers and smoke are pretty cheap, small price to pay if they keep you safe." She does note Bek's response, considering her. "That's a lot of metal to handle. What's it like?" Some interest in that tone. "Seems like it'd be.. claustrophobic."

Ema looks as though she's about to make a comment but stops, instead bringing her glass to her mouth and taking a respectable drink. She looks over the 3 slowly, watching their faces and how they seem to be interacting with each other, her expression might lead one to belive she finds something interesting. She seems content to listen for now, nursing her drink as she tries to get a read on her new acquaintances, her eyes seeming to avoid Vixen more often than not.

Rebekkah tilts her head and reaches up with her free hand to pull her ponytail forward over her shoulder while she considers Vixen's question. "Not really," she responds with a mild shrug, absently stroking her fingertips through her hair. "After a while you stop thinking of yourself as being -inside-, you know? It's just a new body, or whatever. The armor's feet are your feet, its hands are your hands."

Vixen is generally not looking at Emayn, though the edge of intentional isn't there. It's more casual, along with her overall demeanor. "Oh.. its that thing.. how some merc types talk about their guns being extensions of their body or some such." She grins lightly. "Never much bought into it that sort of thing. Though I guess there's something to it. I stop thinking about the gun when I shoot.. which might be similar." She gives her shoulders a roll. "Don't think I'd ever get into driving those things around, but it's one of those things I've always wanted to try once. Just to see what its like. Not fighting with one.. just to see how they move."

Ema sits her glass down, its rim now imprinted with a pale purple where her lips touched, "I'd always worry about how i'd feel afterwords," Emayn says as she chimes in, "After having all the power at my finger tips, must take some getting used, switching back and forth like that." Her head titls ever so slightly as she reaches behind it, her hands massaging where neck meets skull, her eyes, on Rebekkah, "Where'd you learn to use one if you don't have your own, if its not prying, i mean."

"You probably learned how to walk with your real legs sometime, right?" Bek challenges Vixen with a small, knowing smile. Knowing the answer already, that's why. She pauses to have another swallow of her cola before continuing. "It's like that. You fall a lot a first and probably cry a little too, but once you figure it out it's slick like grease and you don't even think about it anymore." She pauses again before she seems to register Ema's own question, and the hue of her eyes melts to a glacial azure as she flicks her gaze over to the other girl. "Oh, I learned up north."

"Sounds about right," Vixen replies. "To me, anyway. Maybe some day I'll try it out, but I got enough trouble with small time expenses as it is, never going to have the cred for one of those suits." A dream denied, but she shrugs it off casually. "Right now, a nice power pack for my hand cannon is more my speed for dreams." She then considers Emayn for a few moments before she asks, "You got dreams?"

Ema is caught off guard, her eyes on Bek as if waiting her response, then snapping belatedly to Vixen as the question hangs in the air, her eyebrows arching for the briefest second as she realizes it was addressed to her, "Everyone's got dreams, don't they?" she says, her voice even, "I'm not sure i'd trust someone who didn't." she shrugs, drinking coming up to her lips to buy her a few more seconds.

"Well I've got dreams," Bek volunteers, unasked. She winds her finger around a lock of hair and nods to herself. "A brand new glitz-flash Samson power armor, or..." Lips pursed at the pause, she shoots a careful look to her left and right. "A -Glitter Boy-. All sparkly and chrome and shiny... yes!" Her lips curve into a smile, bright and excited, but it fades at the follow-up thought. "Right now I just have my Flying Titan. It almost doesn't even count."

"I will leave the heavy mechanization to those with more coordination." Leonard finally voices his opinion on one of the current topics. "The falling part is about as far as I'd get, and I'd probably be the claustrophobic one, at that." Then he glances to Emayn at her response to Vixen. "I think that she was asking what yours might be..." A nudge, but a light one, if his mildly wry tone is any indication.

Vixen grins idly at Ema. "Share one." A casual request given. "Big, little.. don't matter. After all, not like the one I mentioned was all that big, right?" When Bek speaks of her own dreams, Vix laughs lightly. "You don't think small, do ya? Don't see too many Glitter Boys tromping around.. but there ain't nothing wrong with thinking big I guess." She eyes Leo. "I guess that might be up there with me wanting a house, you think?"

Ema considers this a moment, a grin finding her lips as she pries her glass away from them and sets it on the bar, her pale cheeks reddening as she speaks, "I guess I hope of finding some place I can call home, someplace safe that isn't half a step from being wiped off the map." she shrugs, hands on her glass as she looks into the liquid, swirling it slowly as she grins once more, risking a quick looks up at those around her.

"Small dreams are for small people," Bek tosses back to Vixen at her comments. It's not something said casually, but rather said as something heard many times and taken to heart. And to be sure, she's not a small person - at least not as human girls go.

Leonard chuckles and gives Vix a fresh squeeze. "I think I like yours better. Much more room, and probably cheaper, too. I'd expect everyone to want a home, and some manner of stability." He takes a small draw from his glass. "Aiming for small dreams along the way does make it easier to step along the way to something more, though."

Vixen chuckles lowly. "You might be in the wrong place for that, chick. Only reason the Coalition ain't come rolling thunder down here is we're just too small to bother with. For now anyway." The potential addressed with a casual disregard for the dangers inherent. "But maybe that sorta makes the deal.. too small to get crushed makes us safer than the rest. It's Tolkeen's like that's more interesting." Her shoulders roll. She looks to Bek and grins. "Everyone has small dreams.. the sort of things you can actually accomplish short of luck. And big ones. I'd only worry if someone only had small dreams." She then smiles at Leo and says, "Small house, probably, but that'd just make it cozy I guess."

A wild look flashes across Ema's face, an almost predatory smile on her lips, "I'm not quite ready to settle down, yet. I guess half my dream is to live long enough to actually want to settle down somewhere." she chuckles to her self, finsihing her drink, "Right now, I need stimulation much to much to ever be happy somewhere quiet. Someday..." she trails off looking around at the faces around her.

Rebekkah bobs her head in agreement and lifts her glass up a bit in Ema's direction. "I'm with you, girl. I can settle down someday but not right now and definitely not here." She takes a drink of the soda, eyes scanning the counter and quickly checking on everyone's drinks.

"Cozy is nice." Leonard lifts his glass in a salute on Vixen's behalf before look to the other ladies. "Nothing says you have to never venture out, but I do like the idea of somewhere to return to."

"Mmm.. well, settling ain't all that bad.. at least, when you can half do it." Vixen grins a little, giving Leo a sidelong glance. "I sure ain't done with my work and the inevitable trouble that'll come of it. And with his idea for a first date, I don't suspect things will get too boring." Lightly amused as she lifts her glass. Not drinking too quick, the glass nursed lightly amid the talking. She lowers the glass after that light sip, eyeing him. "That reminds me.. what about our next one? You gunna do that again?"

Ema bites the right side of her lower lip as she considers the company she's in, eyes dancing from face to face, never seeming to linger for an inappropriate amount of time. Still, she does seem a bit out place next to the couplely couple, and seems more than a little conscious of that as she slides more than enough credits for the round onto the bar. She sliders herself out of her chair, smiling at Bek and tossing her a wink before turning to face Leo and Vix, "Well, it was nice, but I have a few things I want to look into be it gets to much later." her eyes on Leo as she continues, "You have my number, give me a ring when you want to setup a date to sit down and go over this." she runs once more towards Bek, "Be seeing you soon, sounds like." she says with a smile before she walks her self out of the bar.

Recollection and reminder crash in Bek's brain and she flicks a few startled blinks of dazzling blue back and forth between Leonard and Emayn. "Oh yeah, the thing!" she exclaims, rushing to take another gulp of her cola. "Yeah, totally, where is Flare anyway? Probably the sooner the better for that, huh? Those people coming from Tolkeen look pretty sad."

Tirzah pages: hmm doesnt look Like i am behind, I'm not seeing the tolkeen tp post??

"If you'd like. The view was rather spectacular," Leonard has no qualms about another vacation, "and the beach was nice, too." He winks to Vix before he lifts his glass in a parting gesture to Ema and offers a smile. "Don't worry, I'll let you know." A chuckle then follows at Bek's question. "Most likely, Flare is at one of the bars, or the Ivory Tower. She seemed interested in finding work there, last I spoke with her."

Vixen nods her head towards Emayn, her free hand lifted, giving a little finger waggle sort of wave to her. Keeping it civil, even casual. She then looks to Bek and nods. "That's what happens when everything you got gets taken away. Like I've been saying on The View, they're a mirror for what could lie ahead for all of us. But people are content to ignore them. Not me, though." She snorts softly at Leo. "Yeah, but I ain't gunna do that again on no random beach. Unless I know some nasty isn't going to come wandering by and eat me. Was crazy enough doing it the first time."

Rebekkah quails a little at Leonard's news. "The Ivory -Lady-," she gently corrects him, tossing up a sheepishly cute little smile. "That was my idea. She'd make monster cred shaking her elf-stuff, don't you think?"

Leonard ahs. "Yes, Ivory Lady. I didn't know it existed until she mentioned it. Well," he shrugs at Rebekkah's question, "I'd imagine so, but then I haven't seen her nude, either..." And, on that note, he glances back to Vix with a smile. "Anywhere less random you'd like to visit, just let me know."

"Not how I'd make creds," Vixen murmurs with a casual shrug. "But if she likes it, that's what counts." She frowns faintly and adds, "Hopefully she won't flame up if she gets overexcited or something." Her young woman's brow crinkling slightly. Then Leo gets 'the look' from Vixen. "I'm sure you can imagine, not like the chick was wearing a robe." faintly amused, she adds, "Find me a safe beach and I'm all yours. Clothing optional." She grins idly and looks to her drink again, finishing it off. "No more," she adds, looking towards Bek as she slides the glass away a bit.

Rebekkah downs her own remaining cola and the two glasses clink together as she scoops up Vixen's empty in the same hand. While she's making herself busy she grabs Emayn's in the other and carries them off to set inside the washer. With Emayn up and gone, the couple-ly-ness isn't hard to miss and Rebekkah keeps herself busy down at the other end of the bar, taking care of and chatting with some of the regulars.

Leonard's smile broadens at Vix. "You might not make it a living, but that's a show I won't miss. It might take me awhile to find a different beach, though. Everything is rather hit or miss if I've not been there before." He leans in to offer her a brief kiss in recompense for earning 'the look.' "As interesting as a flaming elf might be, you're more than hot enough for me, babe." Poor pun, but he made an effort.

Vixen accepts the kiss casually, a play made of it being 'enough', whilst a soft amusement lingers in her demeanor. "You'll just have to make it work. Until then.. you'll have to wait for pool day." She glances towards Bek, then back to Leo. "So I guess you're happier now that I'm not going to be clashing with that chick?"

"I am." Leo admits. "Just because I got to know her in the complete reverse of how I should have doesn't mean that I was mad at her. I'm not going to defend her against you, but the fewer upset people, the better. Even if I was on that ego binge, I still helped her when she needed it. Maybe I made a better impression than a bit of fun, then. It would explain why she took everything much more presonally than I thought she would."

Vixen frowns faintly. "I still don't trust her," Vixen states for the record. "But I figure its better to keep things civil.. I just wanted to see if she was capable of apologizing. Just ain't too sure if she meant it, but I suppose we'll see." She shakes her head slightly. "Even if she wasn't, I was honest." Her eyes fixed on Leo. "Can't say I'll shed a tear if she gets offed, but I don't kill lightly. Ain't done it more than a few times. But if she tries to stab me in the back.. all bets are off."

Leonard smirks. "If she aims to do you harm, you're not the only one she'd need to worry about, Vix. I don't expect you to trust her... just thought I'd try to give her the chance I helped screw up in the first place." A final sip of his barely touched tequila and he slides it away, with the bourbon having never left the coaster. "What are your thoughts on this little pack we have? You've actually met them all now, at least those so far."

"Which ones?" Vixen asks. "Dunno about that one." She nods towards the door after Emayn. "What's she do.. besides mind mojo? And her.." She glances towards where Bek works. "Seems fine to me." She looks back to Leo. "Who else do you got.. that elf? I'd watch her, but you know why. If she's not in control of that fire, could be trouble."

"Emayn can apparently take care of herself, physically, as well." Leonard rolls his shoulders slightly. "She sparred with a juicer in the gym, and held her own as far as I could tell." He chuckles and pats her arm. "Yes, for the tenth time, I will be careful around Flare..." The mirth fades notable as he asks, "What happened, anyway? It sounds like nearly as much curse as gift, what she can do. From what she spoke of, her lapse in control hurt someone close to her."

"Dunno about her, but I think I already told you about me. Had a guy like her nearly roast me whole cause he got emotional and couldn't hold his fire. Only reason I'm still here is cause he was able to finally force it down." Her expression tenses slightly. "Wouldn't ahve been so bad if I had armor at the time, but I didn't have mine on." She shivers faintly. "Maybe I'm hard on her, but she said herself she is mostly in control.. he was to. Mostly fine, until he got emotional." She shrugs her shoulders a little. "Hopefully she'll be fine."

Leonard gives her arm a squeeze as he nods. "Can't say that I haven't hurt you from a loss of control, either." His voice then softens. "Potentially, I suppose that I could do alot worse, to many more, with my talents."

Vixen shifts away from the bar to turn into Leo. "Yeah.. we both did some screwing up," she murmurs. "Some day we'll stop mentioning it to each other. She lifts both arms, casually wrapping them about his neck as she leans into him. "Just watch yourself. I might look all relaxed all the time, but I know being fretful and worried and all that won't help you none when it comes to going out there."

"We could stop today, you know." His smile blooms as he completes the other half of the embrace at her back. "Consider my back watched. I have a debt to repay when I return home." His eyes leave her for a moment to glance to the door. "Speaking of which, we've little reason to stay here, and home sounds like a good idea to me right now."

"Easier said than done, babe," Vixen murmurs. "But I'll try and stop mentioning it." She glances around a moment before grinning at him. "Alright, lets go. I think tomorrow will be a good time to move my gear too. Now that we've got everything set up for it. Shouldn't be down more than an hour or two before I get it all set back up again." She leans in to give him a light kiss before she eases back again, hands slipping away, though one moves out to lightly grip one of his own.

Leonard takes the hand and chuckles. "I'll be on hand and ready to move the heavy things. Or at least try to so that you can laugh. Either way, we'll make sure you're not down long." He then proceeds to escort her for the door. "Hopefully, non of your listeners will complain too much."

"They know its coming, I don't think an hour or two will be a bit deal," Vixen replies casually. "And it isn't too much. Mostly a powerful radio and computer, both relatively portable. But you can carry the radio, it'll make things easier." She grins and will start out with him then, after leaving some credits for the drink.

Golden Carafe - Leonard's Room

Leonard escorts her home, more than content with the stroll and her hand in his, regardless of wind, rain, lightning, or even undead fog banks. "You won't need me to mount an antenna on the roof, will you? Or stand and hold one out the window?"

"Nah, I'm using a high powered military radio. That thing will cut through here just fine," Vixen says. Inside, she shrugs off her coat, moving to slip it into the closet. And when she turns back around, she has an odd little expression on her face as she looks around. "Lots of changes.. you'd think I'd be used to it by now." She grins over at Leo. "But there's always something different about a place that ain't yours.. or wasn't at first. It is now, I guess.. yours and mine. I'll probably get used to it."

"Oh. I'd probably break the antenna by touching it, anyhow." Leonard notes as he hangs his cloak. "I did manage to learn how to navigate my pocket computer well enough, but that's the extent of my skill." Vix gets a wide smile. "It's yours, but don't get too used to it. Can't have you getting bored. I'm yours, too, but the same rule applies."

Vixen chuckles lowly. "That's on you, Leo.. part of having someone is making sure you don't bore 'em." She pauses, head turning to consider the room slowly. As if, for a moment, she's not quite sure what to do within it. She then shrugs it aside and kicks off her boots before heading for the couch. she pauses at the edge, a hand lightly laid on the arm, her head turned to glance back towards Leo.

Leonard exhales a sigh that is nearly genuine. "You are such a taskmaster... taskmistress?... but I'll try." His shoes are slipped out of before he takes up residence next to her, regarding her a moment before chuckling. "Alright, this /will/ take a bit of getting used to. I'm so accustomed to you on the run that our time together usually doesn't take much thought."

Vixen grins and slips around the arm of the couch to take a seat slowly. "Yeah.. and this place, usually I was here for a night, but gone in the morning." She shifts slightly to get comfortable, then looks back up to him, reclining slightly. "Now.. I might still go out early, but sometimes I wont' be." She looks at him and wonders, "So now what should we do.. I think this is the first real night of us both being here.. for good."

"I can think of a pleasurable pasttime or two," Leonard notes as he helps her get comfortable in her reclining by stealing away her legs to his lap, "but, oddly enough, just having us here, to ourselves, is wonderful." Spontaneously, and somewhat absently, he begins massaging on of the feet within his reach.

Vixen arches a brow when he takes hold of her feet, shifting herself a little to get comfy with the new posture. "Yeah, that's one thing I've been missing for a bit, someone that's.. mmmn.." About then the massaging starts and her eyes narrow subtly to mingle with that pleased little murmur. "..someone that's close to hand to be near.. and work my feet. Don't get me too used to that, babe, I might have you doing it every night cause I'm always on my feet," she states with a casual grin.

Leonard arches a brow in feigned innocence, right overtop a very mischevious grin. "Oh? A weakness? You know I'll have to exploit that. Pampering does come with the pedestal, afterall..." His features soften and he rolls his shoulders, without interrupting his hands. "It hasn't been that long since I've lived with someone, but it was nothing like this. Interesting... seems like we'll both be doing something entirely new, and together."

"Mmmhmm.." Breathed lightly as she shamelessly enjoys the attention. "Who was you living with.. the guy that taught you that magic stuff?" Asked casually before she breaths in slowly, then lets the deep breath out. "I could get used to this easy." Her toes wiggle lightly and she smiles at him with an impish expression.

"Darius, yes." Leonard nods as he switches feet, so as not to play favorites nor overlook. "There was much more to it than just working spells. Reading, history, languages. Hells, I thought the Burbs went on forever before he gave me an idea of the world, much less all the other worlds out there."

"Yeah, I was the same way before.. The Dregs were home and the rest of the city was this strange place where I didn't go much," Vixen replies lightly. When he shifts to the other foot, the one already worked over wiggles its toes some more. "Mmmh.. Yeah, the world you know is big until you see more of it. Then more.. and more. Just can't assume nothing no more." She considers Leo idly. "But I guess you've seen even more than me. So what's the best thing you've seen out there?"

Leonard grins anew. "The beach, honestly. I've not really seen that much. A few short steps in training, the jaunt here, and the rest you know of. It's not entirely reliable, even when I know where I'm going. When I don't, I could literally step into anywhere. Well, anywhere near a line, most likely, and that's just here. Obviously, blindly opening a rift to some other world is even more a gamble."

"Yeah, that's not something I'd try without some serious backup." Vixen replies. "Usually when I hear about a rift opening, it has a sad ending." But the mild glum that comes along with that can't last long with a foot rub in progress. She breathes out a low sigh and relaxes. grinning at Leo. "You know, you keep that up I might not he able to stay up too long tonight. You could be sabotaging yourself." Her light amusement obvious.

"They usually are. One of the reasons those with my particular aptitude aren't the most popular, even to the open-minded." Her comment softens his grin to an easy smile. "I don't mind, especially if you're sleeping in tomorrow. This does count as sweeping you off your feet, right?"

Vixen eyes Leo for a few moments before she states, "Well, I'll make it easy for you.. open a rift without a damn good reason and I'll personally kick your ass. We don't want the sad ending," she murmurs, eyes narrowed slightly. But the firmness evaporates quick as her feet are worked. "Close enough for me. I could really get too used to this." She reaches out, lightly stroking his arm with her fingertips. "I think we should go to bed.. I'm tired. And it'll be nice to not sleep alone. I've missed it since the last time we did."

Leonard looses a soft laugh. "Yes, dear." He finally halts his spoiling in light of her suggestion. "In that case, we should. As much as I'd enjoy taking you after you fell asleep, I think I've moved enough big, heavy objects the last few days..."

Vixen snorts and leans forward, aiming a firm jab at Leo's shoulder. "You're lucky I don't make you bunk out here, butthead," she growls, though its play, her grin still present. She slips her feet from his lap and sits up fully. Rising, she'll pivot as she gains her feet and lean forward, hands on his shoulders to give a slow, lingering kiss before she straightens again. "C'mon.. you can tuck me in," she offers as she holds out her hands to him.

As if he would ever say that seriously, much less seriously where she could hear him. Leonard takes her hands as he rises. "One more thing to get used to, but I don't think I'll ever get bored of that."
