Yakov's Deli

With the potential for bad weather, Sage is content to be inside the Deli with a small meal in front of herself. She has separately invited Bek and Leo to join her at the Deli. She sips lightly from her drink as she waits at her table where she can sit facing towards the direction people will enter the Deli. [ Leonard is also happy to be inside, at least now that he enters. His cloak is drenched, umbrella as well, with the later closed in his hand. Wind and bowl-shaped, portable canopies do not good bedfellows make and bent ribs suggest a casualty. He glances about the interior, then moves towards Sage as she's spotted. "Lovely weather, isn't it?" Despite his sodden attire, he offers a smile.
When a motion near the door draws her gaze, Sage gives a look of amusement as she notices the man's attire. She looks away briefly to compose herself before she breaks out into a chuckle. Deciding its safer to take a bite from her sandwich, she munches on the mouthful as she looks back up to see the man coming over. She gives him a small smile as she swallows, but can't really hide the amusement that resides in her eyes. "Yes, it will bring nice flowers soon enough." She comments, "And possibly a drowned rat or two as well." She muses teasingly.
Leonard chuckles as he doffs his hood with an audible slump of soaked cloth. "Possibly another, yes. I will welcome the flowers, so long as they are under clear sky. How are you?" He pulls out a seat at the table and settles onto it.
A quick grin is given to the man as he seems to appreciate her humor, before Sage lowers the sandwich back to the plate for the time being. "Oh, I'm sure there'll be clear days... but, unless you can sense them like me, you might be out of luck when trying to predict them." She pauses, considering him. "Would you like a hot chocolate or something to eat, perhaps?"
Rebekkah comes into the deli wearing her camouflaged rain poncho, the hood pulled up over her head and the loose material doing her figure no favors at all. Self-consciously she shakes it out a few times in the doorway, getting as much water off of it as she can before stepping completely inside and weaving her way over to where Sage sits with the unfamiliar man.
"Something warm would be nice, thank you." Leonard nods to Sage as attempts to, somehow, not drip so heavily upon the floor.
Making a signal to one of the people behind the counter, Sage nods as she tries to get one to come over to the table to take an order for her newly arrived guest. Little does she realize the other guest is just arriving. Out of the corner of her eye, she spots someone standing near their table. She looks over to find the other person she invited, and gives a small smile to the woman. "Good timing." She comments softly, "Thank you for coming, Bek." She makes a gesture to a chair at the table. "I believe you will want to meet my..." She turns her gaze towards Leonard, "soggy friend. He doesn't look much like a wolf right now... but, you already know Tirzah's nickname for him."
"I do?" Bek looks from Sage to Leonard and back, giving the other woman a shrug under the poncho. "This is 'the' Leonard, though?" Her amethyst-hued eyes shift back to the man and she flashes him a brief grin before her face disappears under the rising poncho. She pulls it up over her head, folds it imprecisely in half and drapes it over the back of one chair before she sits down in another. "The creepy guy in the blue robe told me to find you," she explains once she's settled.
Leonard arches a brow as Sage greets another, turning his soggy self towards the other woman. He begins to offer a hand, then pauses to wipe it less wet upon his cloak before fully extending it. "My woeful reputation precedes me, does it?" Sage receives a sidelong glance even as he smiles. "Yes, I am Leonard the lamb."
A brief nod is given to the other woman's question, before Sage glances to the man. She chuckles as the man responds to her introduction of sorts. "Well, perhaps I should back track a little..." She concedes, "Rebekkah or Bek as she seems to prefer to be called, this is Leonard." She comments, getting back to a more formal introduction. She turns her attention to Leonard. "As you might recall, there was that guy that asked a bunch of questions about our views and the Coalition and stuff in the garden... well, Bek seemed to get a similar visit..."
"Uh huh," Bek confirms with a bob of her head. "He was staring at me while I was playing D-Bee Dance Evolution and was really creeping me out, and then he was like, 'hey, can I buy you a drink'. Creeee-py!" She folds her arms across her body and slouches back in her chair a bit. "Can I have something with caffeine? Cola, something?" She only looks up at the waitress after she's done ordering, but gives the girl a friendly smile of gratitude. "So, anyway, yeah, he asked me about the Coalition and if I wanted to be a wolf."
"Norwick, yes." Leonard nods as his attention turns from Sage to Bek once more. "He did mention that he would speak to others. I take it that you are interested, then? That would make four that I know of, including myself, although there will likely be more. I don't know how large a ...pack he intends."
When the waitress comes along, Sage will put in an order for hot chocolate and venison stew for the wolfish lamb known as Leonard. She'll check with Leonard about the stew before she finalizes the order. "I got a little distracted when we were talking with him... but, I'm not sure I'll end up counting myself among your ... wolf-ish members."
Rebekkah sets her hands on the edge of the table in front of her and drums her fingernails lightly against it. She spends the span of a few breaths inspecting her nailpolish before she looks back up at Leonard. "I don't know either. When I started asking him questions about stuff, he just said to talk to you and that you were in charge, or whatever." She dashes out another flurry of finger-drums and blows out a buff of breath through pursed lips. "So do you have any idea what we're supposed to do? I can't pass this up, I..." She pauses and blinks, her eyes shifting to a rich brown. "I need the credits."
Leonard rolls his shoulders slightly. "I seem to have drawn the task of recruiting, and maybe he is just the financier. It would be simplest to plan amongst ourselves, but we couldn't do that in much detail without information of the Coalition's movements." A smile is offered Sage as he approves of the order. "Thank you, and it is all voluntary, Sage. Not everyone has reason to go." He swivels once more to offer Bek, "The plan, as it is, would be to harass and harry them as much as we are able. A handful would be no match in any pitched battle, but we should be able to move around and bite at the flanks."
With her work introducting them accomplished and the food ordered for the man, Sage begins to shift contentedly to enjoying her own food. She'll take her time since the others seem to be getting things as well. She nods faintly to the man's comment about it being 'voluntary'. "I'm not sure how you plan to escape... since I doubt any nibbles will prevent any retaliations..."
"That seems easy enough." Rebekkah takes her tall cup of soda and closes her lips around the straw to take a long drink before continuing. "I guess it makes the most sense to get everyone who's interested together before really getting any detailed stuff down." She doesn't seem too concerned about the point Sage raises, but maybe when you can fly you tend to lose sight of those kinds of problems. "Soooo, I work at the Nut'n'Bolt most nights and have a place just up the street at Raleigh's. I'm easy to find when you need to."
"Transport home will not be much difficulty," Leonard explains, "or elsewhere in the vicinity, if need be. That may well be my greatest contribution, but I hope we will be able to do more biting and less running." A slight chuckle follows before he nods to Bek and her contact information. "I welcome your assistance, and will try to arrange a gathering of sorts as soon as possible."
As the conversation about the wolf pack seems to close rather quickly, Sage pauses from enjoying her own a small meal and purses her lips. "Do I know the other two people that are interested?" She asks softly, as she gazes over at Leonard.
Rebekkah perks and sits up a bit on her chair at Sage's question and she looks on at Leonard excitedly and expectantly. "Yeah, do I know them too? Did the creepy blue robe guy ambush them somewhere too, or did you find them?"
Leonard chuckles as his shoulders roll. "I spoke with them, but I don't know who knows who. There is Flare, an elven woman with a penchant for flame, and Ema..yn. She is also a mentalist of some sort, and skilled in martial talents, from what I've seen."
A brow raises faintly when the man almost sounds like he might hold the names of the others in confidence, but Sage is patient enough to wait as she takes a sip from her drink. "Oh..." She replies sounding faintly disappointed, "I don't think I know either of those people." She comments before shrugging faintly.
The deep browns of Bek's eyes peel back and a rose of bright pink blossoms out of the spaces between. "I know Flare!" she exclaims excitedly, turning up a sparkling smile which she turns from Leonard to Sage and back, favoring both of them with it in equal measure. "Not any Emily, though, but I'm sure she's nice too." The smile drops and the girl's brow darkens with a sudden thought. "Where are all the boy soldiers hiding around here, anyway? When me and Sage went with Tirzah there was just one guy too, and he's an elf which almost doesn't even count."
"I've no idea, Bek," Leonard admits, "but I assure you I did not bias my offerings. Fortunately for me, Vixen also know this." He now takes up his mug of cooling cocoa, grinning mildly to Sage before taking a sip. "Do you think Tirzah might be interested?"
The excitement of the other woman draws Sage's attention and a small smile. She gives a soft chuckle when the question is posed about the boy soldiers. "Oh, they're around... somewhere..." She comments with bemusement, before she glances over to the man. A thoughtful look is given to the question about Tirzah. "If she isn't too caught up in her own schemes... then, I wouldn't be surprised if she was." She isn't quite sure what to think about all this right now. Her life seemed much easier before she came here.
The cloud over Bek's brow doesn't lighten and the weight of it erodes the smile on her lips entirely. She tilts her head and regards Sage quietly for a little while, sipping her soda in the meanwhile, then sets the cup down and sighs softly. "You still haven't seen her, Sage? Is everything okay with you or...?" The rest of the question goes unspoken, but her meaning is clear enough.
Leonard nods to Sage's response and seems content until Bek's questions draw a querying brow upward in concern. He doesn't repeat the question, but it's apparent that he shares it.
Unsure of the thoughts the other woman may be entertaining, Sage seems content to enjoy her meal as it dwindles in amount. When the question comes, she glances over to Bek with a considering look. Despite her normal restrain, she lets her telepathic senses touch the other woman's mind to sample her surface thoughts. A small smile coming to her lips regardless of what she ends up noticing - if anything. "Things are well enough." She replies softly, "I think we all have things that are on our minds." She adds, before glancing between them.
Uh huh," Bek agrees with another little nod before she sticks her straw between her lips and takes another big drink. Shining blue eyes shift over to Leonard and she lifts a brow as she observes, "She didn't really answer me, did she."
"Well," Leonard shrugs slightly to Bek, "she did answer it..." He then lifts his other brow at Sage's comment, glance back to Bek, and returns his attention to Sage. "I would hope we do, but why do I feel like I'm missing something?" It's probably that female smile thing.
"That seems more like a comment that should be said after I leave the table." Sage muses faintly as she looks to Rebekkah, "There hasn't been anything bad so far... but, are you angling to be the one I confide in should something happen?" She raises a brow to Bek, before she glances towards Leonard with a small smile. "That's probably a normal feeling around women." She teases the man lightly.
Rebekkah frowns and shoots a look back over at Sage. "I'm not -angling- for anything," she answers, defensively. "I'm just asking, you don't need to get all weird about it." A liquid gurgling sound rumbles at the bottom of her cup as she takes another drink, signifying that it's run out of cola goodness to give her. "Anyway, I need to go. Nice talking, lamb-guy. Keep in touch about the thing?" She scoots her chair back and stands to gather up her poncho.
Despite the negative connotation, Leonard grins at the appelation Bek dubs upon him and nods as she excuses herself. "I will, and it was nice to meet you, Rebekkah." Now that the conversation is reduced, he shifts from mug to bowl and takes a tentative bite of stew. Sage gets a smirk after he swallows. "My confusion will never end, but I'm getting better. I think."
When the other woman seems to take a negative spin on her choice of words, Sage lowers her gaze. << Forgive me. >> She murmurs quietly into the other woman's mind. If she's about to alienate the other woman, she may make things more complicated by revealing her telepathic nature. "I didn't mean to get wierd." She comments softly, "But, I wouldn't mind someone to talk to about certain things." She says softly, as she looks back to the other woman. Then she glances over to Leonard, giving the man a small smile. "Then you're not really missing much at all." She comments softly, faint teasing.
"Well you know how to get in touch with me too," Bek reminds Sage as she unfolds her poncho. The material rustles and hisses and she bends forward to pull it up over herself and guide her head into the hooded hole in the center. "Okay," she continues as she straightens up with a flip of her hair and guides the long tail back down beneath the poncho. "Scan you guys later. Stay dry!" Her little wave is betrayed only by a moving bulge under the poncho and then she's off, gliding away from the table and out onto the street.
"Now I am fairly certain that I missed something," Leonard notes softly, "but maybe it best I leave it missed. All /is/ well, I hope? I do understand a woman with much of her time consumed by business." He returns her small smile with a larger one of his own.
"For now." Sage comments with a nod to the 'leave it missed' comment, before smiling a little more, "Nothing to be concerned over yet, there are some things that require some thought first." Then she nods faintly once more. "Speaking of which, we'll still have to arrange indulging my curiousity about how much space you have to work with ... unless Vixen has already made the point moot." She says, finishing the last of her meal. "And, if not, until then... and take care." She says softly as she rises from her chair and prepares to head out.
Leonard accepts her explanation with a nod, and is neither one to pry nor judge on relational issues. He does have enough of his own, afterall. "I understand and, actually, she has made it moot. There is little space left, now that she's taking glee in filling it." He chuckles with that. "Thank you for the meal and the invitation."
"Ah... it is probably just as well." Sage comments in regards to Vixen, "Just try to make sure that she leaves you some space..." She comments, with a teasing wink before she heads off.
"And you're welcome..." She adds, before she gets too far.
