Its early on a thursday morning when Ema returns to Cali's garage, just before the garage officially opens. She wears a small pair of sun glasses, protection against the early morning sun, and doesn't seem to be enjoying being up this earlier. She gets to the door and tries the knob, finding it open she lets her self in, her other hand knocking as the door swings inwards, "Hello?" she calls out, eyes searching.
"Just a moment.." Zach's voice heard, though it's somewhat muffled as he is leaned over in front of a truck that takes up much of the garage's interior, his upper body half stuck within the space where the engine was once before, now hanging over to the side on a rig. The soft clink and click of metal on metal can be heard within, his feet firmly braced upon the floor. "I will be with you in a moment."
Ema's hand moves to lift her sun-glasses, resting them atop her head as she lets the door close behind her, "Take your time, " she offers watching you in your attempt to extract yourself from your work, "I wasn't sure what time you opened," she says as she walks around the otherwise empty garage, "I'm not too early, am i?"
"No, I've been here for a little while," Zach replies, his rump swaying slightly as he tugs at something inside the engine's resting place. Not really all that alluring, considering the coveralls he wears don't do a good job at outlining, though. He breathes out softly and steps back, pushing himself upright. A little dirty, but no worse than that. He turns and spies Emayn. "Oh, its you. Your rifle is in the back," he explains, turning to go to the workbench. "The mounting for one of the gems was slightly off. A minor problem, only took a moment to align it right." The wrench in his hand laid down and a cloth is extracted which he immediately starts to use to clean his hands. "Won't charge you since it hardly took any time." He smiles lightly.
Ema leans back against a relatively clean surface as she watches, her hands keeping the edge from actually touching her white clothes as she leans on them, "Oh I don't know if I feel right about that, it took time to find the issue, and repair it, surely?" her smile flashes as she watches you from behind, "I've no issues paying you for your services," her head titls, "and i'm more than a little curious as to that other thing we talked about, you happen to look into that at all?" she leans to the left a tad as her hand comes out and tucks her hair behind her ear, a small dangling bell jingling for a moment as a finger brushes it, but stops as her hand returns to its spot behind her.
"Oh, that.. well, that would be more of a problem." Zach notes. "You see, I wasn't sure before, but I confirmed it the night before. For a proper enchantment of Shadow Meld, you'd need at least two black sapphire stones. One that's one caret, another that's either a half or one caret. A one caret black sapphire can sell for a few tens of thousands of credits, depending on the market. They're quite rare. THe rest would be relatively inexpensive additions and the time needed to enchant the armor itself. Those gemstones will be the true difficulty." He then stuffs the cloth back into his pocket. "Let me get your gun." he says then, turning to go to the back room.
Ema follows you with her eyes as you go to retrieve her weapon, returning to face forward when you're out of sight. She taps her foot idly as she considers your words. Her ears perk up a bit as you return, rifle in hand, and her smile ince again finds her lips, "How rare are these stones?" she asks, her hands pushing her body forward off her perch, before being outstretched before her while waiting for the rifle, "Are their people in town that have them, should credits not be an issue?" Her eyes deviate from her rifle just for a minute as they find yours.
"I'm not sure of the market in Kingsdale for those sort of sapphires," Zach admits as he comes to Ema and lifts up the rifle. He even polished it a bit while he was checking it over, the difference is noticeable. "I could only speculate. You'd do well to make some inquires. If you can locate the proper gems, I could make the augmentation to your armor for a proper fee for the remaining parts and the labor. I'm sorry I can't be of deeper help to you, the price of gemstones is often the most troublesome part of my trade."
Taking the rifle carefully in her hands she looks it over carefully, bringing it up to her dark eye as peering through it, "Much much better" she murmurs from behind the sight, the rifle relaxing in her hands as slings the weapon over her shoulder, "You did truly nice work, I really wouldn't feel right if I didn't pay you for your trouble," she produces a credit chip from somewhere, no obvious pockets to be seen, and hands it to you, "For the work, and any names you might be able to give me for places to start lookin, people you've dealt with in the past maybe?"
Zachary nods his head once, accepting her praise and the payment without another word. "To he honest, I haven't been here more than a few months. And I haven't yet had time to investigate gem sellers because I've yet to delve too deeply into techno-wizardry here. However.." He pauses, glancing to one side, then the other before he goes to the workbench and scribbles down an address quickly. "I've seen a gem store before.." he finishes the note and lifts it, offering it to Ema. "Here. If they can't help you, they might be able to point you to others who can."
Taking the offered items with a smile, Ema nods appreciatively, "Thanks for the help, I do really appreciate it." she nibbles a bit on her lower lip before her tongue traces its edge slowly, a grin washing over her face as she slides her glasses back down over her eyes, "Thanks again for your help, Zachary, and your effort. I'm sure I'll be seeing you again real soon." she holds her face towards you, head moving slowly down, eyes hidden by mirrored lenses, before turning and heading out for the door, "Have a good morning!" she says, waving as she walks away.
"You're welcome," Zach returns, his head dipped slightly. "If you have need of other services for your weapons, we'll be here. May your day be a good one." A simple, genuine smile offered up as he watches her go for a few moments before looking back to the truck, his project of the day. Lips softly pursed, he turns and approaches the workbench, already turning his mind towards what need be done next.
