Kingsdale - Nightingale

Noon approaches, and finds Leonard reseated at a booth against one wall. A server arrives to bring him a glass of icewater as he looks over a sleek black pocket computer. A few keys are tapped as he distractedly retrieves the drink to sip from it.

Flare slips into the place and glances around. She is exploring the different haunts in town and for the moment, time has brought her to this one.

Leonard looks up after a few moments, finally closing whatever had occupied him, along with the device. As he slips it away, his head turns to both stretch his neck and take a brief glance about. The rather distinct, tall one in red is noted and a hand lifts in a casual wave. "Morning... or afternoon, as it may be."

Flare turns and waves back and heads over in that direction, "Hello to you" she says and then smiles a bit. She takes in more of the place, "Quite due to the time of day yes?"

Leonard nods, returning the smile. "Yes, it is. As evening falls, it will become quite active. For now, it is rather tame. How are you today?"

Flare shrugs, "Bit of a hang over, but not too bad, and yourself?" she asks as she moves to take a seat next to him.

Leonard chuckles, sliding himself slightly to make polite room as she sits. "I'm good. Very much so, all things considered. Maybe you should drink more moderately? Unfortunately, I'm all too familiar with the horrors of the day after." He regards her a moment before continuing. "I also apologize if Vixen made you feel unwelcome at the park, since that wasn't her intent. There's no reason to feel that you need to constantly move, at least not here."

Flare shrugs, "We will see, I have always had to move, the fire gets away from me and all or I get blamed for someone else." she shakes her head a bit. "I have more control, I hope I do, we will just have to wait and see."

Leonard nods. "Well, my hopes are that you won't need to. Practice might help, maybe? Not that that is an easy thing to do, I suppose. I can't claim to understand how that is for you, but I do know of the Burbs, and being forced from them. That is one of the reasons that I've signed on for this venture to aid Tolkeen."

Flare shrugs a little and nods, "Some things I can practice, others, people aren't willing to let me try and practice."

"I can imagine." Leonard chuckles softly. "If you do wish to accompany us, you'd be more than welcome to practice against the Coalition. Not exactly direct confrontation, since we'd be suicidally outnumbered, but some harassment. I don't know the finer details just yet, other than Mr. Norwick is offering several tens of thousands of credits, and even equipment, to those willing to participate."

Flare nods, "I would be willing to look into it. Was going to apply for a job, might need to arrange vacation time too." she smiles and shrugs. She nods, "But it is the things we want most that are usually denied."

Leonard nods. "We shouldn't be gone long, and there are no lingering commitments, so far as I know. If you do go, you're free to do what you wish afterwards. I should learn more details soon, now that I have some idea of other interest in it. Unfortunately, few seem willing to risk anything beyond hopes and words."

Flare nods a little, "Well was going to inquire about becoming a dancer." she says and smiles a bit, "Make some money someone suggested."

Flare shakes her head, "The practice is in not losing control of my powers, of not letting the Fire out unless I want it, the stress and emotions should make for good practice."

Leonard considers that a moment and nods. "Well, I would hope that it wouldn't be too stressful, although I certainly couldn't do that, even if I was offered payment. I suppose you might be able to somehow incorporate it into your... performance. It would make things more flamboyant..." He hmms softly. "or dangerous, but there are likely those that would enjoy either or both." A n apologetic smile then follows. "Sorry, I have a tendency to babble on occassion, and you did bring a rather... interesting image to mind." No one can claim that nude elves on fire could be boring, afterall.

Flare grins a little, "Well it isn't something I would do for ever but might get me out of the dregs."

"There's always something to be found." Leonard rolls his shoulders in a shrug. "It's just a matter of finding what you want. I'm still searching, myself, for the most part. I'm unemployed, really, and living from what savings I have."

Flare nods, "Savings won't last me for long." she shakes her head, "I need something soon."

Leonard takes a sip from his water. "Not to dispute your choice, but mercenary work might be more profitable, and not much more dangerous than working in the Dregs. Maybe less so, even. If you can remove your clothes before a group of rowdy, drunken men, I'm guessing that you can protect yourself well enough. As soon as I hear more, I'll inform you. We might be leaving at any time, with little notice, as time is of the essence."

Flare shrugs, "mercenary work has to be available though, this could provide money in slow times." she smiles a little.

"That is a very valid point." Leonard nods, along with a chuckle. "One more reason that women have the advantage, I suppose. That is one profession that I doubt will ever slow."

"Speaking of points," Leonard notes, "I should head home shortly, lest I be late for a prior appointment. I do wish you the best of fortune in your job hunting. If you're successful, maybe I'll even have the opportunity to witness a show. They would likely welcome me there, as I have a tendency to tip heavily."

Flare nods, "Take care, and you are just saying that cause you want to see me naked." she teases and then dips her head, "Have a nice day.

Leonard looses a soft laugh as he rises. "Not just, no. Enjoy yourself, Flare." He then steps from the table and for the door.
