Sat Apr 25 12:31:56 105 PA (18.59C, 65.46F):

The Silver Fork is relatively deserted for a lunch hour meal. Seems people must be working through lunch or something. Toward the entrance, the guard is looking over Lucy's collection of nine pistols hanging from the wall, and other assorted weapons checked in by the few patrons that are here. Lucy is toward the back of the restaurant, in an area of relative darkness, but she lights up the room all by herself. She's wearing her hair down, curled over one shoulder so that it runs down the front of her maroon halter top, ending just above the belt-line of her flouncy skirt. She has a drink in front of her, though it's difficult to tell what it is from this distance. After scanning the room for some moment, she waves in big motions to attract Renos' attention.

Renos then comes into the restaurant. Looking around, he spots some of the more familiar looking of Lucy's pistols. Which sets his mouth to grinning slightly. He is checked, roughly, and isn't carrying anything. He then moves over to Lucy's table, with her arm waving to get his attention. He's dressed rather well, for him. SOmething that looks to be at least coordinated, and some stylish. His hair is combed, and no goggles as he then moves to her and gives her a hug. "Hello beautiful."

Reaching up to give Renos a hug and a kiss on the cheek, Lucy says excitedly, "Hi, Renos! I wasn't sure that you'd get my message to meet me here! Please, sit!" She seems quite excited today, bubbling over with energy. Maybe it's just the early hour, or the fact that she's not out making a living, but her face is beaming. Her hands stroke her blond hair as she invites Renos to take a seat at the table Up close, one can see that she's drinking what looks to be some kind of fruit smoothie.

Renos smiles a little fondly to Lucy. "I am more than willing to meet with you any time of the day." He then moves to sit down at the table across from her. He seems a bit reserved, but not towards her. Its more like he's been somber, but seeing her always brings a smile to his face. Something special about her that he finds fascinating. "Well, I usually check them, to see if you have left any."

"Oh, Robert, that's so sweet of you to think of me," Lucy blushes. "I got some nice words from Hayate today. I was working in the Dregs and ran across him and he wanted me to teach him to flirt! Isn't that absurd!? I mean, really, a grown man who doesn't know a thing about flirting? Well, I gave him some pointers, and moved on." She smiles and flutters her lashes at the man across the table, still stroking her wrapped hair.

Renos chuckles softly at that, and then smiles. "Um...all right." But its clear that he doesn't know this hayate person in the least. "Have you ordered hon?" He then looks up and around at the waiters. "I, at least want a drink." Then, he pauses, and leans his elbows against the table. "I...I don't think I will...um...go after Kat. Lets...let her be. And if I see her, I will try and avoid her."

Lucy becomes suddenly somber. "Okay, Robert, avoid her. I hope I'm not standing in the way of anything, though." Her big eyes look back at Renos with nothing but questions. Eventually, she waves down a waiter and places her order for a chicken dish and another fruit smoothie. "What will you have, Robert? I'm buying today."

Renos smiles a little, and then reaches out for her hands. "You are not standing in the way of anything. If anything, you, and my dream, are the only reasons I even get up in the morning...or evening...or whichever." He teases gently. He then looks up. "I want something a bit raw, something I can sink my teeth into and feel...feral." He then looks at her and smiles.

Lucy smiles, blushes, and turns her head to one side, looking at him through one eye. "Robert," she says with a wave of her hand. "I can't mean that much to you yet, can I?" She flips her head around, sending her hair flying over the table to land on her back. She suggests, "Why don't you go for a steak, medium rare. But not so rare that it still moos. I heard that the Fury Beetle was good today, fresh from the northern reaches."

Renos smiles a little at that, and then rubs her hands lightly. "Yes, yes you can, Lucy. You are the only one, my only friend, and my love." He then looks up at the waiter and nods softly. "Sounds good. I think I will have that, a baked potato, and some salad." He then looks back at her and smiles gently. "I am literally seeing no other people at all, besides you."

Lucy lowers her chin and blushes again. "Oh, Robert, you're too much," she says with a bright smile. "What has happened between you and Kat? That sounded pretty - well, final. You two still want to kill each other?" Her eyelids open and close slowly a few times before settling back on the man across the table. "Well, I'm glad to hear that you're a one-woman man, Robert," she grins. "I hope you don't think less of me because of my profession. Not exactly a one-man gal. Though I only have feelings for you."

Renos smiles a little at her. "Nah, I don't think I am." He then frowns, looking down. "Well, I am just tired. I am tired of trying to mess with her. Tired of trying to understand her. Just tired." He then looks down, then smiles. "I meant that I have literally, seen no one. NO man, no woman, nobody. I am a person non grata here." He then shrugs a little. "It is ridiculous, in a way, becuase of your profession, but I know I will always come first. If it comes to that. That brings me great comfort."

With a blush, Lucy picks up Renos' hands and places a kiss on his knuckles. "How is it that you've seen literally no one but me? Did you wear blinders on your way here?" the woman asks through a big grin. "Have you been locking yourself up in your apartment again?" This time, she gives him a stern, disapproving look, but can't hold it for very long, and bursts into twinkling bell-like laughter. "I'm glad that you know me enough to trust me."

Renos laughs softly at that, and then runs his fingers along her hands gently. "You going to order something hon?" He then smiles a little more, and stares into her eyes. "Well, since I left, yeah, I saw people on my way here. But I mean I haven't talked or really seen anyone in a few days. And I doubt I will. Do you mind if its just us? For a long time?" He then looks away a little.

Lucy pulls her hands away and scratches at the back of her head, saying, "I did order the chicken, remember?" But she looks lost in thought. "I only want to be with you, Robert, but I want to be able to have friends and such. I know that I really don't have any yet, but I'm sure that I could, eventually. Like, maybe Hayate, for instance. Or even Ordo seems nice enough, for a fop. So.. I'm nut sure that I could handle 'just us.'" She look across the table at the man with sad eyes, still scratching at the back of he head with one hand.

Renos shrugs a little at that, and then laughs softly. "I know, even if you wanted to, your job will sort of quash that anyway..." He then sighs and then looks down at the plate. "I feel like I am being ostracized." He then moves to pick up something and starts to use his fingers to slowly feel it, in an effort to find the texture, and take his mind off of what he's saying. "I feel there is really no one who is my friend, except you.

"Oh, Robert, that can't be true. Kingsdale is a big place, I'm sure that there are many people who like you!" Lucy nods her head vigorously up and down. "Just go down the list of people who know you, I'm sure that you'll find at least one other person who likes you. I like you a lot, but I don't know if I can hold the fort down on my own. At least, not right now." She looks down at her place setting, saying, "I.. I hope that's good enough for you for now."

Renos shrugs a little at that. "I have, the last couple of days. And all the people I know, kat knows more, and better." He then shrugs a little and then places his hands on his face. "Its...all right. I have felt that isolation before. It won't be anything newm but then, I don't know whether to stay or to pack up and leave."

Lucy shakes her head vigorously from side to side. "No, Robert, you can't go! You're the only one who understands me! Other people just see me as.. as.. as a whore.. and others just see me as some bitch who packs a lot of heat." She frowns as tears come to her eyes, and tries to wipe them away with the backs of her hands, beginning to sniffle a bit. "I don't know what I would do if you left town. I guess I might move to Laramy or somewhere and start over. I've started over so many times in my life, that I don't know if I could handle doing it again."

Renos nods softly at that and then smiles a little, "I wouldn't leave alone, love. If I did, I would take you with me. If you wanted to go. The two of us, riding down the streets and trails of the worlds, living by the seat of our pants." He then sighs softly, but with a bit of a smile. "Its a nice image, isn't it?" He then looks a bit fondly at her. "As I said, I care about you a great deal."

"It is a nice image, Robert. But hopefully it will never come to be. I don't want to leave a life behind. Not again. And I, too, care about you a great deal." She looks directly into his eyes as she says it, as if beaming her dark emeralds directly into hsi soul. "It's nice to meet you somewhere quieter than a noisy nightclub, though perhaps not as wild." Lucy brightens up. "Do you like my skirt? I bought it earlier today, just for you. I thought that you might like to go to a nice restaurant with someone who wasn't dressed like a streetwalker," she says with a blush.

Renos smiles softly at that, "Yeah, well then, I will stick around. Just...don't expect me to get out much." He then smiels and looks under the table a little to be able to see her skirt. "Lucy, you can wear translucent pastic bags, and still look extremely hot. And yet, the skirt makes you look at little more demure. Personally, I like the tight fitting mini-skirt. Shows more." He then gives a bit of a wink and a smile.

Lucy smiles at Renos and rolls her eyes. "You men and your hormones," she laughs. "But I'm glad you like the skirt, I was going for demure. I thought that it might be good for you to be seen out with a respectable lady." Of course, she says this while still wearing a very revealing halter-top, but hey, it's a start, right? "Do you want to try a sip of my smoothie? It's banana and strawberry. No liquor this time, I promise," she says with a smile.

Renos smiles a little. "Sure, i would love to take a sip." He then picks up the smoothie, and then sips it slightly, then sets it back down. His own drink arrives as well as the appetizers and salads. He then smiles fondly to her. "Well, we just can't help it. We see a pretty woman and the...um...thing has a bit of a mind of its own." He then chuckles lightly. "Besides, the wrapping helps, even when its revealing."

Lucy's tinkling laugh erupts once more at Renos' comment about men and wrapping. "Oh, Robert, you're /terrible/ she laughs. "I like going out to a place like this with you. It helps to take my mind off of well, my job, and makes me feel like the more respectable woman whom you deserve." She skewers a bit of lettuce with her fork and chews it a few times before swallowing. "Mmm, this is good!" Then she changes the direction of the conversation again. "You know, Robert, you can't just hole yourself up in your apartment all the time. Not only is it sad, but it's quite seriously not healthy, physically or mentally. You need to make yourself get out. Make some more friends; get to know the people whom you're already acquainted with. It's a good idea," she says, poking a fork in his direction before retreating it into her mouth for another bite of salad.

Renos frowns at the turn the conversation is taking and then stabs a bit of his salad with it. "Not a chance." He continues to look down, frowning. "I am tired of trying to meet new people, only for them to end up hating me. They can all..." He then waves his hand, as if to say they can go finger themselves. "And if they want my things, they can pay through the nose for it, just like everyone else."

Lucy reaches out to touch his hand, narrowing her eyes seductively and asking, "Everyone else?" Renos then looks at her with a bit of a smile, then strokes her hand lightly. "Except you. You are the only one who doesn't hate me. For you, I would do most things." He then smiles a bit sadly, and looks away.

Seeing that the conversation has taken a turn for the worse - and feeling that it's her fault, Lucy asks, "What did you do today, Robert? Tell me about your day. You must have done something with your time." She's finished her salad already, as if she doesn't get this much food very often. Truth be told, the new skirt and meal are costing her a large portion of her day's earnings, though she would never say as much to Renos. "Did you work with your gems again?"

Renos just shakes his head. "NOpe, didn't work with gems today, didn't do much of anything besides work on my drawings and cook a light lunch." He then eats a few more bites of his. "didn't do a blasted thing today, like I didn't do anything yesterday, or the day before, or the day before that." He then smiles. "Except to meet you, which is the high point of my day."

Lucy blushes again, which is something that she's been doing a lot of this afternoon. "That's sweet of you, Robert. What kinds of drawings do you do? Do you mean, like, schematics, or actual artistic drawings?" The woman seems quite interested at the mention of drawings and cooking. "I'm a terrible cook, Robert. I make enough to feed myself, but that's about it."

Renos nods softly at that. "You had a smaple of mine." He then smiles and runs his hand along her arm and hand. "Nope, just schematics and calculations. I can't really draw otherwise." He then sighs a little, and finishes his salad. "I just swim, play the gutiar, and cook. And work on my designs. Thats all there is to me really."

@emit "Robert, there's much more to you than that. You're sweet, you're caring, you're funny, you're kind. I could go on and on. You're handsome." Lucy smiles a seductive grin at the man, extending a leg to run it up and down his calf. "I'm sure that if you just put your mind to it, you could do just about anything! I mean, schematics must be the jumping off point for real art, right? Circles, angles, I don't know much about art, but I know that those are the basics."

I mean, schematics must be the jumping off point for real art, right? Circles, angles, I don't know much about art, but I know that those are the basics."

Renos just shakes his head a little at that. "I suppose, but why would I branch out into yet another distrtaction?" He then looks down. "I like machines. Machines are my true art. How to build them, how to modify them, how to convert them. Making a sculted beauty out of parts and tools and sweat and magic." He then smiles a little. "I don't need any other sources of artistic expression."

"I hadn't thought of that as sculpture, but you're right, Robert, it really is. How is your mage power armor coming?" Lucy takes another pull on her smoothie and shoves in a bite of baked potato, her salad having been shredding in to little bits of nothing. She doesn't exactly have the greatest of table manners, but one look at her would reveal that at least she's trying. Elbows off the table and all, eating with the correct forks. All weapons checked at the... no.. wait.. upon closer examination, the grip of a .45 is peeking out from under her skirt-top. Huh. Guess she's still a little paranoid, and managed to sneak an old-style weapon past the guard.

Robert doesn't seem to mind in the least about her table manners, or the pistol. Heck, he's armed and not even carrying a weapon. He then looks at her with a bit of a sad smile as the regular food is brought. Chicken for her and steak medium for him. "Its coming, but right now its still in the design phase. I can't really afford to test it out right now."

@emit "Are the gems really that expensive? Are they precious, or semi-precious stones? Or both? Where do you buy them? The mine, or that engineering place? I'm sorry, I'm asking too many questions," Lucy says, hiding her face by looking down at her plate, bushing a few strands of platinum blonde hair from her forehead.

"Are the gems really that expensive? Are they precious, or semi-precious stones? Or both? Where do you buy them? The mine, or that engineering place? I'm sorry, I'm asking too many questions," Lucy says, hiding her face by looking down at her plate, bushing a few strands of platinum blonde hair from her forehead.

Renos hrms a little at that. "Well, apparently, Dr. kelley has a company tht mines them, and provides them to the city. So, I suppose I could go and get them from him directly. If I wanted. Or I could go to some shops that sell them. Or some adventurers who will trade them, and so forth." He then shrugs a little. "They can be anywhere from 10 credits a carat to over 20,000 a carat."

"Oh, wow. I had no idea. I was thinking maybe topping out at 100 credits a gem. Wow. 20,000 a /carat/? Wow," she reiterates. "When I was in Chi-Town, I had this boy give me a half-carat diamond engagement ring. I gave it back, because I wasn't ready to be tied down to the Chi-Town aristocracy, where the little lady is expected to stay home and keep the rooms clean. I bet that you didn't know that Chi-Town was so backwards, did you?" Lucy asks. "Sure, some women rise to positions of power, but they're almost always the non-married ones."

Renos nods softly at that. "Yeah, I had an idea." He says, a bit quietly. "I never got into Chi-town itself. The Psis and dog boys could smell me. But I did get to the burbs for a brief visit. I didn't want to stay there. It sickened me." He then looks down. "Thats probably worth about 13000 credits or so, for the ring. 9500 for the half carat diamond. 3k in gold. And about 1.5k for the work on the ring."

"Wow," Lucy says again. "So you're telling me that I should have accepted his offer, huh?" the woman laughs. She forks another bite of baked potato into her mouth and rolls her eyes around in delight. "Mmmm... this is /so/ good.." she throws her head back, which, incidentally, has the effect of thrusting her bosom forward, though it's clearly unintentional. "So tell me, Robert," Lucy asks, "What does this mage armor look like? Form fitting? Big and angular, like a Borg? Somewhere in between?"

Renos shakes hsi head a little. "Angular depicts a hard rough edge. It makes mass production a bit easier, since you can get the metal plates more even with less work. I am trying for a light, mobile suit that will keep the wearer alive while he fights, and allow the spellcaster or psychic the freedom to use his abilities. The trick is having enough protection to do that in the suit combat arena."

"Can psychics use their powers while inside a suit? I thought that they had to do things like make eye contact with a person before they could use their powers. Although, now that I think about it, my meager powers don't require me to see anyone, so I suppose that's a stupid question." Lucy blushes and hurriedly fills her mouth with the last remaining bit of potato.

Renos nods softly. "And so do mages. However, techno-wizard items counts as um...natural devices for the purpose of viewing. For instance, if I cast eyes of the wolf on myself, or through my optics system, then I would see a lot better. However, if I tried through a camera, it wouldn't work." He then pats her lightly. "Don't worry, there are some powers that do, some that don't."

"I think that I understand. A little." Lucy offers him a big toothy grin. Their meals are finally delivered, chicken for Lucy and steak for Renos. "Ooh, this smells delicious!" the woman says, taking in a big inhale of the miasma formed by the mix of odors. She looks up and smiles at Renos. A smile he may not have seen before, but it goes past without comment as she begins to cut into her main course.

Renos looks at her a bit puzzled. He then starts in on his steak and he cuts it up with the fork and knife. "Its all right if you don't. Its pretty advanced concepts." He then takes a bite out of his steak and groans a little in pleasure. "Oh, yes, now thats the stuff right there." he then watches her smile and looks a little puzzled by it.

"I just.. well, I just thought of a nickname for you," Lucy blushes. "Can I call you 'cookie'? I like it, and it seems to suit you. I don't know why, it just, I don't know.. fits you." That smile flashes across her lips again, zipping past before it can really be seen. "But if you're not into nicknames, I understand. But it doesn't give you free reign to call me 'snoogybottoms' or something like that, so be careful where you tread, Robert," she says with mock anger.

Renos chuckles at that, and then has to pound his chest as something goes down the wrong hole for a few brief seconds. "I don't think I could call you 'snoogybottom' or anything else but Lucy right now, love. Although, cookie will do if you want to call me that." He then moves to run his own foot along her leg with a bit of a smile.

Her cheeks turning red again, Lucy says, "You're right, I probably shouldn't be calling you anything but Robert right now. I'm sorry," the woman apologizes. "Maybe when we get to know each other better." She offers a half smile. Then she giggles as Renos rubs his boot up her leg. "Robert, I think that my stockinged foot is much softer on a leg than your boots happen to be." She doesn't pull away, but she does laugh.

Renos chuckles softly at that, and then smiles. "There is no doubt of that, Lucy." He then smiles. "No, cookie is fine, I promise. Go ahead and call me that." He then smiles. "Its more the fact that I find you more than hotly desirable and can hardly wait to see the...finish line." He teases a little at that, and looks her over once more. "Plus, I find that you are opening up to me, and I love that."

Lucy lowers her lashes and looks up at Renos through them. "Oh, Robert, you're silly," she says, waving it off with a hand gesture, and forking another bite of chicken into her mouth. "I wish that you would open up to me, cookie," Lucy says, trying the word out for effect. "You're so.. closed. I guess it's because of all the pain that Kat has caused you. But still.. it'd be healthy for you to open up, you know?" She blinks a few times, excentuating her lashes.

Renos then looks at her, and then nibbles a bit on his steak, and then looks away for a moment. "What...do you mean?" He then looks back at her for a moment. "What do you think that I should open up about?" He then looks back at her eyes and tries to keep them looking into hers. He picks up a glass and sips it, then puts it back.

"I don't know, Robert. If I knew, then I wouldn't need you to open up, now would I," Lucy winks. "I don't know, maybe your emotions more, your heart. Let me know what you're thinking." Arching an eyebrow, she asks, "And define this 'finish line'."

Renos then looks directly into her eyes. "I am not sure what you mean." He then looks down, "I like you, a lot. I think I could love you." He says quietly. "I hate Kat, and wished she would die. BUt I don't really want to bother with her again. I love to work on my machines. I want to be rich and powerful. I am, in essence, a person." He then chcukles. "I wasn't quite sure how to...um...get to the last hurdle. The...last barrier. Um...when we...are intimate."

"Ah, I see," Lucy says, looking down at her chicken and pushing it around on her plate a little. "Why don't we start with a lip-to-lip kiss and see where we go from there." Lucy leans across the table - exposing an ample amount of cleavage - and kisses Renos on the cheek. "I'm sorry, Robert, but.. when it comes to a real relationship, I have to take things slowly. I don't want them to end up as just extended versions of my work, you know?" She exhales and wilts a bit, then looks through lowered lashes at him and then asks, "I hope that's okay."

Renos laughs softly at that, and then he kisses his fingers and then puts them to her lips. "No, not yet. Don't do it becuase I want it, do it because of what you want." He then smiles a little. "I know you don't have any experience. And it won't be like your other things for your job. For one, do you want to? Do you feel that tingling of anticipation? The way you want it, even a little, and know that you can't afford to make a mistake. Its too important."

Lucy smiles, "Thank you for understanding, Robert," she says softly. "Have you heard of the organization 'Si Sera'? I think that I've secured intermittent employment with them. They're some kind of adventuring group. I think they're going up north to look into these weird dinosaurs or spirits or whatever that abducted that farmer's boys. I might be able to go along and make a few bucks! I'm really excited about it. A chance to make money.. without putting out."

Renos frowns and then nods softly. "Oh, yes, I have heard of them. If you get a chance, shoot Kat." He then growls a little. He then stab his plate a little and starts to cut up the steak. "Its one group I think I will decline any further invitations for them." He then sips his drink, and sips a bit more, then goes back to his steak.

"Oh, is Kat part of them? Atti didn't mention that. Maybe I'll skip out on them then. I don't want to work along side an emotionally crippled stalker, no sir," Lucy says with passion. Lucy, too, feels a bit uncomfortable with the direction that she accidentally drove the conversation, and pauses to take a long sip of her smoothie and two bites of chicken. "Did you know that I'm experienced in combat driving?" she asks out of the random ether.

Renos just shakes his head. "No, go, you need the money. Let not my...feelings of her dissuade you from earning the money." He then blinks a little at that. "Oh? And what kind of driving?" He then smiles and eats a little more of his steak, and starts into the baked potato. "I want you to try the group out, please?"

@emit With a bright, understanding smile, Lucy says, "Okay, Robert, I will give them a chance. We'll see what kind of money they make. Might not be worth the danger." She smiles, "You know, combat driving. Sideswiping other vehicles, ramming, sending them flipping through the air, jumping; the works." The woman looks quite proud of her accomplishments.

Renos smiles a little at that, and then nods a little. "I meant more with what vehicles, love." He teases a little, and then smiles a bit more. "Good. At least someone should keep an eye on them. And since I won't be there..." He then looks down and away. The meal seems to be going all right, and tastes good.

"If I get the opportunity, I'll 'accidentally' shoot cat in the head," Lucy winks in jest. Finishing up the rest of her chicken meal, Lucy leans across the table, holding her mane of hair out of the food, and kisses Renos on both cheeks. "I loo..like you very much, Robert. I care very much for you." Her eyes are calm and seductive. "Perhaps you could walk me home tonight?"

Renos chuckles at that, and then smiles a little. "Would be honored, and becuase I do something, you don't have to. I am perfectly capable of being in two different parts of the relationship." He then strokes her cheek fondly. "And only if you get the chance." He then smiles and starts to finish his meal

Lucy simply smiles and watches the man eat, feeling the stirring of emotions that she's not felt for a very long time. She smiles and her eyes open wider than normal, her pupils dilating, her skin becoming infinitesimally sweatier.

Renos just continues to eat, and watches her with a bit of a smile, to show her its really okay, and that he's fine. And in truth, he's never been that good at acting. Which she could probably picked up on. But as he looks back down at his food, he has to wonder. Is he really shut off? Shutting her out? He thinks he is open, but is he really?"

"I've expanded my apartment quite a bit since the last time you saw it, Robert. I sunk most of my money into improving it. I hope that you like it," Lucy states. "It's got multiple rooms now, and everything. But I hope that you like yellow."

Renos chuckles softly at that and then smiles. "Yellow?" He then smiles. "Well, as long as its a bright yellow. SO bright that it blinds you." He chuckles softly. "I would love to come ina nd take a peek around."

@emit "Okay! Please, come in!" She pauses and says, "I'm sorry to break up the meal now, Robert, but I really must be going so that I can get to work tonight. Can we perhaps get you a doggie bag?"

"Okay! Please, come in!" She pauses and says, "I'm sorry to break up the meal now, Robert, but I really must be going so that I can get to work tonight. Can we perhaps get you a doggie bag?" Renos chuckles a little at that. "Well, I think more a to go box. I don't like thinking that I am a dog." He teases lightly. "Its all right. Just don't go too tired. You still need to be alert."

"I promise that I will return," Lucy says, standing, extending a hand. "Now, are you going to escort me back to my apartment, or not?" she asks with a twinkle in her eye. Renos then smiles and then stands up and offers her his arm. "I think that would be most ideal right now." He then chuckles and moves with her once again. Tags:lucy, renos
