Kingsdale - The Alibi
Midnight on a Monday, with the weekday and its requirement for work encroaching, the real night owls are working to get their last amusements and dances in, thus there's a certain intensity to the environment. Vixen contrasts that with her relaxed posture. Settled at a table near to the dancefloor, her chair leaned back, booted feet crossed on the edge of the table. She's in a good mood, the light upward curl of her lips attesting to that and the last little bit of one of her cigs smolders away, dangling from her fingertips as that hand rests limply at her side, the other lightly scraping the leather along the side of her thigh. And she watches the people, deriving some quiet amusement from them that goes unvoiced.
Then there are those who worry not of the nine to five daily grind, and have far too much free time on their hands with which to cause mischief. Leonard enters, mood far brighter than his last visit, not to mention much less inebriated and michevious. A smile is given those manning the door before he moves towards the tables.
Vixen lifts the cig casually, a moment from attempting to draw on it before she notices that it's pretty much done. A subtle smirk draws at the corners of her lips before she reaches out, grinding the last of it into the ashtray, moved to the edge of the table for her convenience. She breathes out a low sigh as she considers the drink options. She hasn't one right now, though when she turns her head to consider the bar, she spots Leo heading in her direction. She grins and lifts an arm to wave in his direction. "Just in time," she calls out to him, motioning for him to draw nearer.
Leonard's own consideration of available seating options is made markedly more simple by the grin and gesturing arm. He veers Vixenwards, offering a smile in return once he nears. "Just in time? That almost sounds ominous..." Now at the table, he doesn't take a seat quite yet, curiousity piqued.
Vixen motions for him to come closer, reaching out towards him to lightly take his hand. "I'm just far too dry right now, babe and I need me a decisive man to fix that problem," she murmurs, giving him a playful grin. "Something new.. something you like. Cause you know what? I don't know so much about you as I should and I wanna know what you really like."
"Well, that is hardly an invitation that I can turn down, now is it?" Leonard chuckles softly, smile turning more to grin. His taken hand leads the rest of him to take an adjacent seat, head tilting as he looks to her. "Although now I'm feeling a bit on the spot. What sort of new and like are we talking about?"
Vixen smirks faintly, keeping that light grip on his hand. "Anything, babe. I'm pretty open to new experiences. I showed you strawberry tequila and you seemed to like that a lot. It's a bit of a comfort drink for me. Helps my calm if I'm anxious, you know? You got something like that, Leo? Doesn't have to be strong.. or even alcoholic, really."
Leonard shakes his head, but in bemusement at himself rather than a negative answer. "Oh... that sort of dry. Wine has always been my choice for relaxation, but that isn't new..." Now that the focus is a bit narrowed, his free hand motions for a server's attention. "For a moment, I wasn't sure what you were asking." His grin returns as he makes an intentionally quiet order to the server that arrives.
"Now you know and wine it is.. not that I drink that stuff much." Vixen says with a light smile. "Though I admit.. there's another reason I'm asking this besides getting to know you. Cause I want to talk with you about.. what happened before. Not cause I really want to, but cause I think I gotta," she murmurs, giving his hand a soft squeeze. Fortunately there is no anger in her voice.. indeed, there is a softness. "Best to have a nice, calming drink near for after t hat mess is done."
The squeeze is returned and Leonard nods, his grin softening. "I'm here, listening, and have much fewer holes or bruises than I expected. I'd love to talk with you. Hopefully, I made the right choice this time... with the drinks." Indeed, it isn't wine that arrives at the table, but two cold glasses of milk. The chocolate variety, even.
"It's important talk, for both of us," Vixen murmurs. She even slips her legs from the table to sit upright afterward, only letting him go for a few moments before she's sat next to him, leaned close with her elbows on the table, hands eager to be linked with his again. Though when the drinks come, her brows lift and she looks at him with an odd look. "This don't look like wine.. wrong order?"
Leonard shakes his head, grin widening for a moment. "No, it isn't wine. Much more comforting and indulgent, at least to me." Then a brow lifts and furrows as he realizes there is much of her he doesn't know. "You aren't allergic or don't like chocolate, I hope?"
"Nah, I love chocolate," Vixen replies, grinning. As if to prove it, she frees a hand up to lift the nearest glass to her, taking a swallow. She even remembers to brush the back of her fingers across her upper lip after, just in case. Her grin gets turned on him and she nods her approval before asking a more serious question. "What do you know about that woman? Anything at all you know about her."
Even with the talk and subject, her momentary mustache brings his grin wide, and laughter into his eyes. Leonard takes a sip from the other glass as he considers. "Very little, really. Her name, and that she is a mercenary of some sort. Not entirely mundane, either, with her occassional telekinetic flair and some sort of conjured blade that I've seen."
"Yeah.. that means she's probably got mind powers.. or something like that. That means she's dangerous.. all of 'em are. Just a matter of which ones you can trust. The way she acted.. I don't trust her." The good humor fading from her eyes. "People like that can mess with your mind, Leo.. some of 'em. Better to assume they all can until you know otherwise. I dunno what she might do now.. hopefully she'll just move on, but I want you to be careful Leo. Don't want nothing to happen to you." The ill mood softening as she grips his hand free again with both of hers. "Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but sometimes it works out. And if not.. I'll be happy to be wrong."
"That is a distinct possibility." Leonard nods, then rolls his shoulders slightly. "I don't expect her to do anything but move on, assuming she hasn't already, or even stopped moving in the first place. It wasn't exactly a relationship, Vix." His other hand evelops hers. "Paranoia can be a good thing, at times. I'll be careful. There is the chance I shall see her again, in a professional sense. I mentioned the trip to Tolkeen, and she seemed surprisingly eager. I wonder if she merely enjoys trouble."
Vixen frowns faintly at that, trouble instantly entering her expression and she she squeezes down on his hand lightly. "I dunno.. I ain't gunna tell you not to, but I hope you won't hold it against me if I hope she takes a bullet," she murmurs, her expression going hard for a moment. "Would help me sleep better at night, that's for damn sure." That apologetic look from the night before rises again. "I wish I had more creds, those psi blockers are looking better than they usually do right now."
Leonard chuckles and pats her hands. "No, I won't take offense. Can't blame you, there, can I? Actually, your fangs are rather endearing, when they aren't pointed at me." One hand lifts slightly to wave away some of the concern. "We'll find that pile of riches to solve problems some day, Vix."
Vixen smirks faintly at that and lifts up the glass for another drink of her chocolate milk before she lays it down and rises to her feet. "Hold that thought, babe. Gotta hit the head." She'll let go of his hand, but before she does go, she will get her hands on his shoulders and lean down for a kiss. Lingering and light, more tease than substance. And after, "Keep it warm for me." Her lips curled upward as she eases back a step and starts off for the moment..
Amber enters the Alibi, her late night presense a regular sight for the bar as of late. Dressed in a t-shirt, long, loose skirt, knee socks and small slipper like shoes, she gets more than a few looks as she plods towards the bar, the bartender lining up glasses before an empty stool that she plops herself into. She seems to have laser like focus as she reaches out to grab the first glass filled, and takes the shot with barely a wince before putting it down and going for the next.
Ironically, Leonard is not at the bar, instead seated at a table, one leg thrown over the chair adjacent. Two glasses are present, one of which he nurses as he glances absently over the night's patrons. This evening's poison appears to be mudslides, or some other likely chocolatey concoction. Amber is not immediately noticed, her change in attire and drinking habits the most probably culprits.
Two more drinks in quick sucsession are lifted, and dropped back on the bar with a practiced motion. She sighs happily before chatting a bit with the bartender, her elbows on the bar, armcrossed, and chin resting on folded arms. Her feet swing back and forth as she sits on the stool, her legs not quite long enough to allow her to reach the foot rest encircling the bar.
"What are you doing over here? Got a seat for you back over this way," Vixen can be heard to say next to and a bit behind Amber then, returned from her journey. She will then look to lay an arm over the woman's shoulders casually as she eyes the glasses. "Another chocolate," she prompts to the bartender, hooking her thumb back toward where Leo's sitting. With the hour of closure coming up slow and steady, some of the crowd has started to thin out.
Her return from the powdering of noses it not lost on Leonard, though her journey to the bar is slightly unexpected. Amber's presence is finally recognized as Vixen's actions provoke a second look. Nothing is called out, however, and he simply watches the ladies while sipping his moo juice and maintaining his duties as seat-warmer.
Amber's head raises from its resting place as she looks sideways at the voice behind her, her lips curling into a soft smile, "Vixen, hiya." she says as she straightens, her body turning in the chair to look over at the table with Leo. A confused look washes over her face, her eyes darting back to Vix, "you sure its ok?"
"C'mon, chick. I got plenty of time alone with him," Vixen replies casually as a glass is put on the bartop. It has.. chocolate milk. Vixen picks it up and offers it to Amber. "Too late to get loaded, I'm thinking. And liquid chocolate is one of the better ways to get it, don't you think?" She grins broadly, stepping back then, removing physical contact. She still motions for the woman to come along with, however.
Leonard lifts a hand in greeting as Amber turns his way, accompanied by a smile. The latter only widens as he spots Vixen making alternate drink suggestions to the other woman. His own is lifted to show off the newest drink trend and his wave alters to also invite Amber over.
Amber's hand reaches out to grab her last remaining drink from the bar as she turns and almost jumps off her stool, "I'll stick with this, I think, last thing i need is more sugar, thanks though." she looks a bit rosy, and smiles easily as she follows vixen to the table, her smile fading only a tad as she offers the smallest wave at Leonard. She looks more than a bit confused as she takes a seat, her eyes boncing a little nervously between the two, "So..." she says slowly, "Whats up?"
Vixen seems, for now, to concede defeat on the drink issue, though she does bring the third glass along with her. When she reaches the table, she shifts one of the remaining chairs over to beside where her own is, then sets the glass down and steps over to Leo. "Just a pretty damn good night," she murmurs in response to Amber, her hand reaching out to lightly touch Leo's shoulder before she reclaims her seat next to him.
Leonard slides his leg off of the seat Vixen reclaims. "I attempted to keep it warm for you." His smile shifts to Amber as he gets a closer view of her outfit. "You look much more comfortable, and quite lovely. Is everything alright?" Now that its not waving and Vix is back, his free hand rests on the table near her.
Amber sips from her drink as she looks over at Leo, large tierd eyes regaurding him carefully, "I'm fine, for the most part, just the normal sleeplessness that seems to follow me around" she waves her glass a bit, ice clinking, "Nothing a few drinks can't fix." she looks away, seeming to avoid eye contact with the two of you, and she lets the comment about her outfit slide to the wayside
"Not quite what I meant, but that's sweet, babe," Vixen replies to Leo, grinning with soft amusement, her hand extending low to rub his thigh softly. Though a moment later she has her eyes on Amber, a more serious expression coming to the fore. "You need to do something besides drink when you can't sleep. Sleeping pills would be better, if you gotta go that way." She slips the fresh choco milk glass closer. "You'd best think about what your boy might think about that if he finds out."
Leonard's grin to Vix is kept brief as concern tightens his face. "She's right, Amber. Is the meditation not helping? The drink won't make things better, and most likely make them worse." A sigh follows. "Unfortunately, I can actually speak from experience on that."
"It seems to be doing the trick for now," she says, fishing into her pocket to remove a neat pack of smokes. She removes one, lights it and takes a nice long drag as she leans back in her chair, exhaling directly above her head, "And he's mostly what keeps my brain going all night, and what he doesn't know...." another drag, and exhale, "Won't hurt him." she looks over at Leo, "I'm not really sure that thats for me, I guess, the meditation, its to hard, almost like work."
Vixen takes the opportunity of Amber's smoking to casually reach over and try snagging that drink.. or what's left of it. Should she score it, she'll slide it towards Leo, out of easyu reach. "The funny thing about what people don't know.. they can find out." She glances at Leo idly and adds, "Some are smart enough to know that." A light smile coming before she looks back to Amber. "Especially if you get serious with your boy. The closer you get, the less secrets you can keep. If he's getting you all worked up, maybe you ought to get him to wear you out too. That'd be a lot better than hanging around here, drinking." Her smile growing with a sly edge to it.
Leonard plays the part of accomplice, helping to further relocate any alcohol. His hand then finds its way to rest casually on Vix's thigh as he returns her smile. "The truth is always better," he advises Amber, "and if that doesn't work, try bludgeoning him over the head with a blunt object. That should get his attention. Just ask Vix."
Amber lets her drink get passed around, her eyes following the glass a moment as she smokes, small rings escaping her lips as her cheeks redden, "I'm not exactly sure he'd know what to do, and I sure don't...." her eyes glance over to Leo briefly, but tipsy overwrites any trepidation she might feel, "I guess thats part of the problem, I'm not ..i mean I l've not," she ashes on the floor, taking another hit, letting it out through her nose before continuing, "I don't know how to take it to that next level."
Vixen's brows lift slightly as Amber outlines the issue. Almost at once dropping into a thoughtful expression. "So you got a sweet little virgin on your hands.. and you're right there with him?" She looks to Leo, grinning a bit. "Pay attention, babe, cause you don't run into this kinda thing too often," she notes playfully. She then looks back to Amber and leans in a bit towards her. "I guess maybe its time you do your research.. I don't suppose he'll take a lead anytime soon then? When it comes to learning how to do it?"
Leonard gives Vixen a sidelong smirk. "I'm listening." It then softens to a encouraging smile in Amber's direction. "If you're worried about doing something wrong, I'm not sure there is such a thing when it comes to the details." His head nods towards Vix, grin rekindled. "But I'd listen to the expert, here."
Amber's eyes go a bit wide as she shakes her head at Vixen, "I can't beleive i'm talking about this with you two..." she says softly, head shaking as she takes another drag from her smoke, "I don't think he's gonna jump me, I'm not even sure sometimes he wants too." she pulls her knees up, feet on the chair, her hands tucking the edge of her skirt over her knees, pinning the frabric between table and leg as she crosses her arms across her knees, leaning her chin on her arms. Her face is red, and she avoids eye contact, "I guess I don't know what you mean by research, I mean, I know i want to take things to another level, I know how the parts fit together..."
"Oh, I'm not really an expert when it comes to the sort sounds like she got," Vixen notes, looking back towards Leo. "Boys I run into always seem to have a naughty mind to them, even if they're green." She lets her playful grin linger on him a moment before she looks back to Amber. Her expression softens and she lifts a hand to touch her shoulder. "Babe, if he doesn't want to than he has to be dead in some way." Her voice softer, even gentle as she says as much. "Research meaning, whatever you can find to show you the details on it. Library's sure to have some books about sex. And if you want some real visual aid, there is always porn. I kid you not.. I could give you some recommendations on one or two more tasteful ones I've seen before. Though that was a few years ago."
Mmm. Chocolate milk. Leonard decides to indulge in some more, a brief respite that only catches slightly with Vixen mentioning visual aids. "Yes, boys are naughty unless they're not breathing. Trust me, Amber, you have all the advantage." He does begin to wonder if he should start taking notes on Vix's advice, though.
Amber burries her eyes in her arms, her head shaking as her forgotten cigarette burns, ashing down the side of her dress, "Oh i don't think i'm ready for any of that, quite yet...." she says, her voice trailing off, "I don't even feel right talking to you about this...." more pauses as she peaks up, "I think i'm more about the steps inbetween at this point, Kissing, maybe, I don't want to throw myself out there and find he's not interested, Small steps for me, I think."
Vixen glances over her shoulder at Leo then and considers him for a moment before she looks back t Amber and gives her a warm smile. "That's a good plan, actually. For both of you, I thinik. But you're still going to need something.. I'll give you a call, chick. Take you shopping later for something every lady should have." Her hand squeezes lightly on Amber's shoulder before she lets go, leaning back a bit. "I'd offer to do it now, but no places are open." She looks to Leo then and says, "This place is closing up soon. And I have to go check on some things in storage. Maybe you can make sure she gets home ok? I'll catch up to you later." She then looks to Amber and grins. "And you too."
Leonard smiles as he nods. "I can gladly do that, Vix, and whenever you're not taking her shopping, I'll need to drag you off for some, as well." Probably not for the same items, of course. He gives Vixen's leg a pat before resting his hand on the table once more. "I hope my being here isn't making you uncomfortable, Amber. Just don't overthink everything too much."
Amber looks up at Vixen as she starts to get up, her eyes, swinging over to Leo, and then back, "Um, thanks, I guess? But don't need a walk home, I'm really not that far away, and I'm pretty sure I can manage." she rests her chin on her arms once more, "Thanks for the offer though, I don't want to inconvience anyone."
Vixen rises up after Leo speaks and turns towards him. "You wanna go shopping?" She seems amused. "Don't' tell me what for.. surprise me," she directs him before she leans in low and lays her lips to his. Though it only starts there briefly before she tempts him with her tongue for a few moments, causally ignoring where she is and who is about. "Mmmn.. I'll want that back," she murmurs to him lowly, a hand placed against his chest before she straightens again and looks towards Amber. She turns and moves over next to the woman and leans down to murmur by her ear. For her alone. "You two look like you got something to work out. I dunno what it is.. not gunna ask. But whatever it is.. work it out. He's messed up on some things, but it's past now.. we're moving forward and I really like you. Don't want you two awkward all the time when we hang out." With those soft words shared, she straightens up. "You two be good now," she will offer before turning to head on her way.
Leonard grins. "I'll try to..." Then Vixen's farewell removes his words along with whatever train of thought might have existed behind them. He glances to the ladies as something is exchanged, but does little more than smile inanely until the two are finished. "We'll do that, Vix." A wave follows her before he turns back to Amber. "It's not an inconvenience, but I'm not going to impose, either."
Amber looks over at Leo as she takes a deep breath, her nearly finished smoke getting one last hit before she drops it to the ground, her feet sliding from the chair to smash it out on the ground. She leans forward, elbows on the table, eyes on Leo, "I don't get you..." she says at last, head shaking as she fishes another smoke from her pocket, preparing for the awkward that is to come, "I used to think you were pretty nice, pretty honest..."
The smile dims and Leonard simply nods in light of Amber's accusation, or disappointment. "Word travels fast, doesn't it? I was right to tell Vix, first, at least." A sip of comforting brown cow extract and then a sigh. "What can I say? I screwed up, and apparently upset alot more people than I expected to..."
Amber's lighter flashes, illuminating her face briefly as the red coal burns brightly, her eyes closing as her lungs fill. She opens her mouth, smoke slowly emptying out before she gives it a push, emptying lungs, "I don't know, maybe i'm selfish, maybe I just really liked your giving me the attention that i've not really ever gotten." she laughs, a strangley sad sound, "I guess I felt a little special, and then to see and hear that I was just one of many, to see how quickly you fell into Maya's arms...not to mention someone else..." she sighs, her eyes water, though not tearing, "I don't know, I just sorta thought you were different, and its wierd now thinking you're not."
Leonard blinks, perhaps expecting a dressing down on principle, but not the more pointed pain that she begins to allude to. He frowns, now wondering just how many friends he's managed to abuse in some fashion, near simultaneously. "Amber... I was drunk, and stupid, and already kicking myself. Maya, far more kindly than I deserved, was looking out for me. Nothing happened, other than her making sure I didn't increase my stupidity." He exhales a sigh and shakes his head. "The only selfish one in all of this has been me. You're more than worthy of the attention, and you are special. I meant what I said, but it wasn't really my place to say it. I wanted to be bold, aggressive, and I turned into an ass."
Sucking on her cigarrette, Amber watches you, her eyes moving about your face, but avoiding direct eye contact, "I guess..." she says, insufficent and she knows it as she forces her self to continue, "I guess I just know if I can believe you, you seemed like maybe I was something to you..." she smiles half-heartedly, "It was funny, I had just heard this story about you, about some heroic thing someone seemed to think you had done, and I guess I romanticized it, and then I see you and get all excited to talk to you...and to see.." she looks down at the table, taking a drag from her smoke, out through the nose, "I'm just silly i guess, and I did it to myself, and probably had you built up in a way that wasn't fair to you..." she almost sounds convinced.
"Amber..." When in doubt, Leonard reminds her of her name, leaning forward on the table in her direction. "You are still the attractive and personable woman whom I'm rather fond of that you were when I told you as much. As for me, the story was obviously about someone else." Now it's his turn to regard the tabletop. "I tried the big hero trick, even succeeded. Beat the competition, showed everyone up, and even ran off with the damsel... it's what I thought I'd always wanted. Now look where it's led me. Vixen might never trust me again, and I'm lucky she even tolerates me. Now you won't even look me in the eye... I'm sorry for that."
Amber shakes her head, "Nothing wrong with being wanted, especially by someone you want back..." she admits, her eyes moving up to meet yours, a definat act, it seems, as if trying to prove you wrong, "I'm just overwhelmed all the time, and I'm not good at being on my own, and its unfair of me to judge or whatever, I'm sorry i'm such a moody brat, really, none of this has anything to do with you, or what you did, cause none of that was about me..."
Leonard finds her eyes there when he lifts his own. "It was wrong that I've seemed to hurt everyone that matters to me along the way. You have every right to judge me..." He then pauses, less certain of what to say when she mentions that it's not about what he did. "What's wrong, then? I can't promise that I can make amends, but I don't want you upset."
Amber rolls her eyes back, head tilting up as she exhales, hoping to hide a tear that has begun to form, "Oh god, I don't know why I haven't stopped talking yet," she says, shaking her head, "I like Zach, I do, he's nice, and he's good to me, but it doesn't change the fact that I like it when people look at me, and I want to be liked, and want to be...." she shakes her head, "blah, i've had too much to drink, I should get some sleep before I make a bigger ass of myself.
With the Alibi starting to clear out apace, subtle hints and the time itself motivating most to begin their homeward migration, the place is becoming quieter. There is, perhaps, a half hour or so before things will get less subtle, but for now the last minute drinks and the last dances are being had. Zach comes in with a subtle uncertainty about his expression. He hands over his dangerous items distractedly before he moves inward slowly, looking about with searching eyes. It won't take him too long to find and he bucks up a bit when he does, starting towards where she sits, only to note that there's someone else there. He considers Leonard as he approaches, still a bit off from the table itself.
Her 'but' causes Leonard's lips to purse. "Desired? Loved?" These are potential conclusions that he offers, and the rest is perhaps less certain, at least in choice of words. "You are liked, and looked at. I know those for a fact. I can still walk you home, if you wish."
Face afalme, amber looks at Leonard, her eyes wide and something, excitement maybe? flash in them, "I want someone to look at me, and just have to have me, just take me..." she bites her lower lip, eyes still wide, she seems to like how innappropriate she's being. She leans forward, her movements quick and fluid as she grabs her drink away from Leo, bringing it to her lips as she finishes it, "I don't know," she says, grinning goofily, "I know its wrong or whatever... but there it is."
Zachary is a touch uncertain as he nears the two. He can't make out what they're talking about, but Amber's manner.. it gives it some significance. Only as she's saying it is there will he be close enough to hear. And by then, he can dither no longer while still being somewhat discreet. "Good morning," he says then, coming near enough that he need not speak too loudly to be heard. His eyes moving to Leo, the man given a polite nod before his attention shifts to Amber. His eyes linger and he can't hide the silent curiosity that lines his features. Until, that is, his eyes shift and his brow furrows when he spies the cigarette that Amber has, nose wrinkling slightly at the smell that lingers about the two.
The music softens and slows, a subtle hint that the club is moving towards last orders. Another is the change from live music to background DJ, and the singer is released to move to the bar. There, she gains a glass of clear liquid, turning to survey the near empty club thoughtfully. She moves slowly towards the group at their seats, her gaze lingering briefly on the girl, and she smiles as she nears. "Evening. I think, me, I have not met you..." One eyebrow arches questioningly.
"There is nothing wrong with wanting that, Amber..." Leonard's reply is then pre-empted by Zachary's and then Aimee's greetings. He straightens in his seat with a nod to them both. "Morning..." Now lacking any other immediate comment, he retrieves his glass for a sip.
Amber's face turns purple, a truly remarkable sight, as she hears Zach's voice, her head turning sharply to look his direction, as if unbeliving that the voice was truly his. Eyes wide, she looks as if she'd like nothing more than to shrink away into nothingness. "Zach!" she manages, using his short name in her current state, "How long have you been standing there?" she asks uncertain. She is awkward for a moment, but she is saved by the apporaching Aimee, her face turning to meet the new arrival, "Um, hi," she manages, her eyes taking in the new arrival, "I've not met you either..." she says, flustered and overwhelmed by the rapidly changing scenen
Kesslan quietly slips into the The Alibi tonight, a brief nod to the guards as he ghosts on through without the usual checks for weaponry, most of which he still blatantly carries into the club with him. But then by now most people have a good idea on who he is, and just why he can manage to do that. Even if he's not around terribly often, but thats part of the very reason the D-bee is here tonight. Because tonight he's here to try and catch a certain someone by supprise. And so, after a few querries with the security staff in locating Aimee, Kesslan starts to slip through the crowd, doing his best to try and remain unnoticed by at least that one firey soul he knows so well in this gathering. Intending at least, a playful supprise.
When Aimee comes over to the table as well, Zach glances her way, looking at her for a moment before his attention moves back to Amber. Concern mingling with his confusion as he steps closer to the young woman. "Are you well? I only just arrived. I woke early today and I thought.." The urge to explain to her pausing as he remembers the people about him. "I came looking for you," he admits unnecessarily, a small smile tugging at his lips despite it all. His eyes move back to Leo for a moment, still curious and confused.
Aimee's gaze takes in Amber's rapidly purpling face, and one eyebrow arches, amusement dancing in the green eyes. "I am Aimee, mon chat, mon minet and I, we own the club. And you are?" She tilts her head, lifting her glass to her lips, watching the three with interest over the brim. Her weight shifts, resting on one side, the movement moving her hip slightly, accentuating the tiny skirt she wears with confidence. "I think, me, that you are becoming a middle of the night regular, little miss..." She leaves that title, a question hovering in the air, unaware of her soon to be surprise.
Flare slips into the club tonight as well. She leaves a coat and the few weapons she bears on average at the door and then glances around. The crimson haired elf takes a deep breath and then moves more into the place.
Leonard can't help but grin at the combination of Zachary's timing, Aimee's assessment of Amber, and, of course, all the interesting shades she's turning. Aimee receives a nod. "She is attractive enough to draw a crowd, don't you agree?" His focus shifts to Zachary, then, including him in the query before Leonard notes, "Your timing is most convenient, as it is nearly time to leave. I don't suppose you'd be gentlman enough to see Amber home? She was just speaking of you, as a matter of fact."
Head turning to take in all the sudden stimuli, Amber doesn't know where to being, through she appears to go through various false starts as she looks from Aimee to Zach to Leo and then back. She starts wtih Aimee, the descion not easily reached as she attempts to smile, her large bright eyes a tad wet, though hardly noticible considering the state she's in, "I'm Amber, your..." her eyes go wide one more, recognition dawning, "Desmond's Aimee! I've heard a lot about you," her eyes dart to the stage and back, "I've seen you, but never put two and two together." Her eyes are on zach even as she finishes her thought, "Its just odd to see you here, this late, I mean," her hand drops the cigarette to the floor, her foot trying to stamp it out, all while trying to draw attention to the action, "Not that it isn't a pleasant surprise," she pats her lap as she looks at him, "Join us?" she looks over at Leo, but just for a second, attempting to let him know that they aren't done, even if he leaves.
Kesslan continues to slip up through the crowd, the pantheran making his way closer and closer, the predator approaching the 'prey'. His hands reaching out slightly to the sides and his body slightly tensing for the 'attack' before relaxing just a little bit. Afterall, this is not intended to be something harmful, just an impish little supprise on Aimee. And then Kesslan is on the sudden move as he tries to quickly slip up behind Aimee before she has a chance to at least turn around. His arms reaching to catch her in a firm and sudden hug.
Amber's reaction is amusing enough to draw a warm smile from the other woman, and her gaze takes in the two men with her, one eyebrow arching high. "Oui, I am Desmond's Aimee. Very much so, oui. But you, little cabbage, you should go home with your boy here..." Her gaze slides to Zachary, a brief wink before she returns her gaze to Amber. "And perhaps, come and find me when you are not here in the middle of the night, oui?" The amused look vanishes as she is hugged from behind, and a shriek, trying to twist in his arms, to see who is grabbing her.
"Of course." The first two words to come out of Zachary when Leo addresses him. Though to which of the two things said could be asked. But he doesn't miss what Aimee has to say, even if it doesn't get direct response as he looks to Amber once more. "Join.." he looks back to Leo, then to Amber again. He then looks to Aimee before he addresses Amber once more. "It's early, rather than late. But yes, I would like to join with you. And escort you home. Have you slept?" Concern coming again as he considers her.
Flare cocks her head to the side and tries to make her way to the bar admist the group. She dips her head towards them but isn't sure about saying anything, she mostly is just after a drink at the moment.
Leonard nods with Amber's invitation, and maybe her glance, his hand motioning Zachary to the table. "Please, have a seat." He looks to Aimee, perhaps to comment on her suggestion for Amber, but she now seems rather embracingly distracted.
Amber looks over at Aimee questioningly, and looked about too say something when the woman is pounced upon by the Cat person, who, she can't help but notice, isn't Desmond. She looks from Aimee to Leo and back to Zach, her lips curling into a smile as she bounds out of her chair, her hands grabbing for one of Zach's which she'll holds between hers. A final smirk and shrug are sent Leo's way before she looks up at zach, her chin resting on his chest, "I haven't slept yet, nopes, but you could come tuck me in, if you wanted too!." her smile is oddly childlike, almost mischievous, and although her purple color has faded, she's still a bit red about the face and chest.
Kesslan hugs Aimee too him, his broad muzzle nuzzling against her neck and giving her a playful bite before whispering in her ear "Sarr-kashiss.. I am home." the pantheran then letting her go, even without human expression, or even any expression in those blank white eyes of his, it's clear he's quite pleased with himself, his ears perked up, and his tail curling about a little. Almost looking like a very large kitten that just caught it's first mouse and is ever so proud of itself. Of the others gathered, he pays them no attention, for at least in this moment there is only one here who deserves it.. especially given how often he's been away lately, and for such periods of time.
The others are forgotten as the girl twists in Kesslan's arms, throwing her arms around him, dropping kisses all over his face, "Mon minet!" The cool amusement is gone, entirely, and the bite draws an immediate reaction, the light kisses gone as she rises on tiptoe to kiss him properly, winding arms around his neck, her head tilted back. A display the long standing staff have seen before, and her green-eyed gaze fixes on his face, as if there was nothing else. "I missed you." She murmurs, the words redundant, "Come home. The staff, they can lock up. We need mon chat..." The others in the club are invisible to her now, and she turns, drawing him towards the exit, her intent to take him home. A wise and knowing member of staff has her coat and bag ready, along with an amused grin.
To say Zach is on ground he finds uncertain and treacherous is an understatement. With Amber grabbing his hand, she gets the bulk of his attention as well. That he hardly seems to react to the interplay between Aimee and Kesslan could attest to how much so. He seems somewhat uncertain at the precise meaning of her words, yet there is at least part that he can easily agree with, a soft smile coming as his fingers curl against her grip softly. "I would he honored to escort you," he agrees, seeming glad to be back within that comfortable area.
Flare gets a drink and pays for it and then turns and glances around a little, looking at those that apaprently are leaving.
The radioactive D-bee seems to leave as suddenly as he appears, absconding with Aimee to parts unknown.. or well ok home most likely as had been initially suggested in his greeting of her. Even a brief bit of poking around with the club staff by anyone currious enough would find out about the somewhat unusual trio of Desmond, Aimee and Kesslan. Right along side with how Kesslan is often away, out of town doing... what ever it is he does whe he's not here at the club minding security duties. That the feline is glad to be back however, is quite clear.. perhaps in time he will pop up again.
Leonard watches Amber's surprising bout of boldness, and Zachary's ...simple response. A sip is taken from his drink before he suggests, watching the other pair depart, "Maybe you should try sneaking up and hugging him from behind..."
Amber smiles as she sways slightly, leaning against Zach for support, her hands tightly gripping his as she awaits his next action, seeming content to just stand there and wait, her eyes only briefly going to Leo who's been left alone at the table, much how her night started. Her smile becomes a grin as she shrugs once more, "One step at a time," she considers, "Or maybe its time to leap!" she giggles for a moment, her eyes on the table as she stares thoughtfully into space, seeming to enjoy some personal though or idea..
Zachary glances at Leo, his words only feeding the confusion that lingers for him. Then Amber. He becomes concerned for her again and when she leans against him, he seems to interpret that in his own way as he wraps an arm about her for support. "Come, Ambrielle. I will take care of you," he says, voices softened as he decides to take charge.. in starting to lead her towards the door at the very least. The concern in his expression lingers.
Leonard returns Amber's grin. "Maybe it is." He then turns it to Zachary, along with nod, as the elf begins to move. "Do take good care of her, although I don't doubt that you would do otherwise."
Amber offers a brief wave Leo's wave before her head falls on Zach's arm as she allows herself to be led out of the bar, and home!
"Of course," Zach replies to Leo again, head turned back a bit towards the man. His tone one that speaks of simple certainty when it comes to that directive. He looks back to Amber, curious and concerned as he gently escorts her from the Alibi.
