Apr 15 09:03:43 106 PA Kingsdale - The Alibi

Following his past athletic trend at the gym, Leonard must now earn back all the calories and energy expended. And so he has returned to the popular watering hole, which is quite the relaxed place during mid-day. Most of the overexuberant party crowd are still asleep or hungover, and happy hour is in the distant future. Still, his spirits seem high enough as he alternates between casual attention to the small device before him, his glass of water, and the few patrons and staff currently active.

Maya arrives, in a more subdued mood, her feet taking her directly towards the bar. The grin she gives the bar staff barely is a real grin, and she takes the glass, turning away. Her gaze travels across the bar, her face thoughtful, until she sees Leonard. She moves across to him, dropping uninvited into the seat opposite. "Hi."

Leonard glances up as the Maya content of his table suddenly increases, possibly as startled by her arrival as the hugless nature of it. He smiles, nonetheless. "Hello, Maya. Did you enjoy your dancing last night?"

A small frown creases her forehead, the dancing driven from her mind by the day. "Oh! Yes. Did you sort out your argument?" She leans her elbows on the table, ducking her head to capture the straw, waiting for his reply, her hazel eyes watching him.

Leonard nods, his smile widening. "Yes, I think so. For now, at least. I'm sure I'll manage to find something else to make things difficult in the future." He retrieves his own glass to take a sip. "I'm very much an amateur at this, unfortunately."

"The whole muddying the waters with Amber might not have helped." The comment is quietly spoken, her mouth curving into a grin. "Easier to date one and then the other, I think. Although Vixen might share nicely." The grin widens, "Amber is a good kisser though."

The smile dims with a sigh and Leonard nods. "There is still that mess I've made, but Amber did seem to realize I was being idotic or insane. I just hope I haven't spread it." A slight smirk rekindles at her last comments, his head shaking slightly. "Vix is not one to share, and you'd know more of Amber's skills than I would."

Maya's sympathetic nature saves him from mocking and she jumps up, launching a hug in his direction. "You don't think Vixen would share?" The grin is back, in full force, the caffeine in the drink fueling more energy. She flops back into the seat, resuming her position, hands either side of her head. "So does Vixen know?"

Leonard is mildly blindsided by the hug, this time. Delayed explosion. "No, I don't think that she would, solely on principle." His smirk grows and a brow arches. "Know what? That after I lost my mind, I flirted horribly with the very next unattached and attractive woman who was willing to have a conversation with me? No. I haven't told her, and I suppose I should..."

Maya nods slowly, her grin twitching at the corners as she tries not to laugh. "I can see that." She leans back in the chair, picking up the glass, taking a slurp through the straw. "I guess she might not take it so well, but what if someone else tells her? I mean, not me, because it isn't my business and I would never do that, well, not never but probably not do that, because it wouldn't be cool, you know?"

"Something tells me that I wouldn't take it well, either." Leonard nods in return. "Hopefully, it won't be the start of our next... disagreement, but I will talk to her. It just didn't seem the best thing to mention last night." Another sigh and slight roll of his shoulders. "Amber deserves another apology from me, as well."

Another sympathetic look from Maya and she reaches out to pay him on the hand. "Yeah, she does." She agrees softly, taking a slurp of the drink. "Honesty is the best policy." A pause and then, "Especially when she might find out because then you'd look like you were lying and cheating as well, instead of just cheating, well, not really cheating because it is confused rather than...."

Leonard lifts a brow, again. "If you're trying to make me feel better about this tangle I've made, you're doing a wonderful job..." The curl at the edges of his lips minimizes the sarcasm to a teasing level. "Now I have two women to convince against despising me. If nothing else, it will be interesting... and there was no lying nor cheating involved."

Maya's grin suggests no offense is taken, and she returns it with a mocking look. "No lying or cheating? Did you tell Vixen yesterday then? That you spent the day having a muddly day with Amber? Oh wait, no..." She rolls her eyes, leaning back in the chair, taking a slurp of the drink, watching him over its brim.

"I wasn't the one that kissed her, at least." It isn't much of a retort, but Leonard tries, anyhow. He drains the remainder of his glass and then peers at it a moment. "Maybe I should have ordered something stronger... but I should be thankful that I have you here, as a surrogate conscience." His eyes returns to Maya. "Although I'm not sure whether your supposed to the the one with the halo, or the one with horns."

"I'm not attached to anyone." Maya points out with a grin, "and I thought I was helping." She widens her eyes, deliberately mischievious, mock innocence. "I think horns suit me better." She grins broadly, wrinkling her nose. "I don't think the wings would work so well, beneath a lab coat, perhaps a tail and horns though..." She leans forward, resting her hands either side of her face. "Wanna play with my tail, baby?"

Leonard can't help but chuckle, though the sound is far less confident than mirth alone. He does lean down towards her, however, with a slight nod. "Definitely horns. The next time I decide making things interesting is a good idea, I guess I know who to hug?"

Maya laughs up at him, her eyes dancing. "I think you'd not keep up with my pace, Leonard." She sits back, blowing him a kiss, her mouth curving into a broad grin. "Although I don't think I'd fight Vixen for you. I don't keep boys for more than a night anyhow." She shrugs, taking the glass up to slurp it.

"Ah. So you're more inclined to just have... fun?" Leonard grins a little as he straightens. "You're right, and I probably wouldn't be able to keep up. Vix was rather adamant in keeping things like that. It seemed wrong to me at the time, but I can now see how it is much more... simple."

Maya watches him through her lashes, deliberately sucking on her straw before she replies. "I don't like to be tied down, ...not in that way, anyhow." She comments, her grin brightening. "You and Vixen haven't had sex yet?" Interest lights up in her face, and she watches him as she slurps the drink. "So you must be really dying for some."

Leonard blinks a few times and reaches for his glass. It's halfway to his lips before he recalls that it's empty. "Well... yes, but..." Sating her curiosity initially seems a wise idea, but now he's not certain that answer will be enough to do so. In lieu of further details, he waves a hand to flag down a server. "Definitely time for a new drink."

Maya nods slowly, the irrepressible grin fighting to come out of the mock serious expression she wears, an she pushes her glass across to him. "I think that is a good idea." She comments softly, resting her chin in her hand. "Would it help if I told her that if she doesn't, I will?" The innocent look returns, devilment in her eyes, but she doesn't look serious.

The fight against floundering fails as Leonard takes the glass, and a healthy swallow from it. At least his past ruffling by others has lowered his tendency to blush. "I don't think it would help, but... you will what?"

Maya's grin does burst out then, and she sits back, laughing aloud. "Help you get laid of course." She offers him widened eyes, mock innocence returning. "Did you think I was offering, Leonard?" She rests her chin in her hands, watching him.

Leonard returns the borrowed drink to the table and slides it back, a mild smirk managed in the process. "Fortunately, I don't need any help at the moment, but I appreciate your concern. I'm sure that I thought exactly what you wanted me to think." A finger adjusts the straw back in her direction before his hand retreats. "It must be your drink." Her penchant for slurping straws has not gone completely unnoticed, and he apparently knows enough to at least guess at potential metaphors.

Maya takes the drink up, lifting it in a slight toast before she takes a slurp. "I don't know what you mean." She replies, utter innocence in her face as she takes a slurp through the straw, watching him thoughtfully. "So, you think you have it all under control?" The question is idle, her grin settling down.

"Of course not," Leonard pauses briefly as his prior wave is finally responded to, and places his order, "and I'd like to think so. Other than the explanations I owe, all seems infinitely better than yesterday."

Maya's grin returns in full force, "I'm glad, Leonard." She settles back in her chair, resting her drink on her stomach, slumping. "I should get some sleep, I'm on an early shift in the morning." The enthusiasm is lacking for once, her forehead wrinkling.

Leonard nods, now returning her grin with a much more genuine smile. "So am I, and thank you. Did you have a long night? If you need to, don't let me keep you up. Something tells me that you have a line of others for that."

Maya's grin returns in full force, her eyes twinkling. "I had a lovely night, thank you." The perfect politeness in the reply belies the amusement in her eyes. "Tonight, I am going to sleep I think." She stretches, taking the last slurp of her drink before putting it down. "I'm glad you sorted all your women out." She rises, offering him a hug.

Leonard chuckles as stands to accept and return it. "Yes, it does get more difficult when there are more than zero. Get some rest. I'm not accustomed to seeing you without all the bouncing around."

Maya gives him a grin, and a wave, her path from the bar quieter than normal, and the door bangs behind her.
