Midday at the firing range is mildly busy. Inside the small arms building a dozen people linger about, firing down the range, chatting or tending to their weapons of choice. Kid is the thirteenth person and has already settled at a firing station. She has a handful of clips laid out before her and is just getting ready to start firing. She has her new NG-45LP in hand, the big pistol turned to the side whilst she inspects it carefully. Her lips move faintly as inaudibly murmured words are spoken to herself amid this activity.

Since she's been unable to find anyone to train her on the weapon yet, Sage comes to the firing range with her acquired NTI-01A pulse rifle. She's apparently decided to get some paint rounds judging by the markings on the clips that she's carrying with her. She simply wanders along until she finds an open spot to be able to practice with the unfamiliar weapon.

Tirzah steps into the range, her ng-11s at her hip. Her first time here she just observes at first. Cradling one arm while a hand twirls a strand of hair thoughtfully. She finds the smaller range adequate for its task, but she liked the field of the third range. Though she didnt like the price. It was an ideal place to train with her aides for combat. But her resources would dwindle quickly at its steep rates. Perhaps if she got in with Jelani the would be more feasible and probably encouraged.

Kid grunts lowly to herself once she has the big pistol firmly in hand and checked out. The clip gets popped, eyed, then snapped back into place. She handles the weapon with familiarity, her eyes lifted down range a moment before she lifts it up. Taking a steady two handed stance to brace it. Her aim is steady, She squeezes off a handful of spaced out shots with favorable, though not exceptional results. A square hit and a handful of glancing shots that are well grouped. Though as she lowers the weapon, her mind seems to drift a bit, the replacement of the clip done slowly as she considers the target. Slow enough that after two or three attempts to push the clip in, she notices she's not putting enough effort into it and glances down with a frown. A firm knock against the heel of her palm does the deed.

In contrast to Kid, Sage merely orders her things in the shooting stall that she's taken position within. She pops in the first clip, having figure out that part easily enough. She raises up the pulse rifle as she would with her laser rifle. "Let's see how this works..." She murmurs to herself, and squeezes the trigger as she intends just to let a single round go. Unfortunately, little does she realize that the weapon is still on fully automatic at this point. The recoil surprises Sage as she hadn't been expecting it. Paint rounds start to fly everywhere - moving forward towards the targets, fortunately - before she's able to bring herself under control and stop the random paint job from continuing. Muttered complaints and the occasional shout probably greets the resulting silence. A chagrin look comes as Sage pops her head out to give an apologetic wave to any glares she received. "Sorry... at least its only paint rounds." She offers as consolation, before she turns her attention to the weapon. "Ah... here we go..." She says, mildly amused as she finds the switch to turn it to single fire mode.

Tirzah giggles softly as she see Sage get a handle on her new rifle. Eyeing one disgruntled enthusiast that vacates the stall beside her friend. Muttering about amateurs. Walking quitly up to the stall she takes his place without a word and draws her shotgun. Casually she opens the breach with a swift jerk and feeds in two practice shells. Then closing the breach with a snap she brings the gun to her shoulder and takes aim down the range.

Kid glances over towards where Sage is at the comotion. A little distance between the two protects her from getting hit, though she leans out a bit to peer towards the source of the disorder. She spots Sage and then Tirzah, considering the pair quietly for a few moments before she glances down at her practice clips. After a moment she slips the pistol into her side holster and gathers up the clips, a few going into her jacket, another pair into her pockets, the last two held in one hand as she comes around to approach the two. As ever, quietly at first.

Embarrassed by her lack of control, Sage merely shrinks back into her stall trying to ignore the commotion that she's caused. The muttered complaints of amateurs doesn't bother her at all. She takes a breath before settling back into what she came here to accomplish. She squeezes off a few rounds one by one... none going exactly where she wanted.

Her eye following along the barrel Tirzah finds her center and time seems to slow for her. She lets her pressures guide and steady her. Her body firming in an unwavering stance, a breath let half out the stopped. BANG! The jarring release of the shot, immediately followed by a definite sign of impact. A practice round for a plasma shell the bullet is designed to emit and energy bubble to demonstrate the blast radius. Though harmless to the environs it is fairly flashy and gets some stares and mutters of its own.

Kid glances down range when that energy bubble goes, but it doesn't stop her from approaching. Her index finger casually taps the side of the two clips in her hand as she comes up to a point behind and between where Tirzah and Sage are along the firing line. Though silence lingers for a moment longer as she takes time to craft what she'll say. "You'd probably be better using something smaller," she suggests to Sage after that pause. "Never did care much for big guns myself.. too much trouble to deal with."

Another couple of paint rounds are fired off with seemingly no sense of aim by Sage before she hears a familiar feminine voice behind her. She slips her finger out and away from the trigger area and lowers weapon as she turns around. She nods faintly, "Perhaps... it was something I picked up... literally." She purses her lips, "I don't really know how to use many weapons either way." She confides, giving a faint shrug.

Snickering from her stall Tirzah readies to fire again. This time just a straight slug. "Some experts would casually say just point and shoot. But there's more to it. There's a score of preparation and exercises. Execution and follow through. But with most weapons its all very similar. Find your target, find your center, and fire." BANG! Her shot emphasizes the advice to her friend in the stall beside her The slug slamming into the torso of the remaining target in her set.

Clink clatter clunk clink clink clatter ... Walking down that isle is a slacks and button-down clad figure, several large grey cases dangling from straps over his shoulder that bump against one another as he walks. He slows as he passes the more basic ranges, where shorter distances and lighter-duty weapons are the name of the game, and resettles his shoulder straps as he continues on down the line with eyes inward. His blue gaze falls primarily on those weapons present, keeping an eye on what's being fired, before slowing as he hears a familiar report. Falling back a stall, Sebastien peers first at the gun, then the woman shooting it, then at her companions. A low appreciative whistle is his first greeting, as the young man leans against a nearby post. Several feet back, watching the goings-on.

"Shooting's just something you get used to," Kid adds as her own lean on the topic, glancing towards Tirzah. "Just needs practice." She gives her shoulders a faint roll and then makes a casual motion towards the pistol at her side. "If you're wanting something smaller, try a trade. Got this one by trading in a rifle. Managed to get another clip out of the deal too." Some casual pride entering into that. Despite the din of weapons fire and her distraction, Kid catches on the whistle. An uncommon enough sound that she glances towards the source. And, upon seeing it, turns her attention firmly back to Sage, her expression darkened by a new frown. "You should try at the Gunnery. They got all sorts of stuff.. and they seem to know what it's all about."

When she hears another familiar voice, Sage glances over to see Tirzah with her weapon. "Hey..." She says, sounding a little thoughtful but falls silent at the woman offers some advise. She watches the result of the woman's target practice, and listens to the advise that Kid offers as well. When she turns her attention to Kid, she gives a nod to the woman's suggestions. She gets a thoughtful frown as she considers what all is being said. The darkened expression of Kid draws her attention to Sebastien at that point. A neutral kind of look is given to the man and simple nod of acknowledgement. "Would I be able to find a trainer there too?" She asks, looking back to Kid.

Tirzah lowers her shotgun and opens the breach to reload in one smooth motion. "Hello." She replies casually as she feeds two more slugs into the breach. Closing it with a sharp snap she fingers her panel selecting a new set. The encroachment scenario catches her eye so she hits engage. Down the range a fresh set of dummies appear, closing towards Tirzah at varrying speeds. with a slight hmph she takes aim again and fires a second later. The fast moving dummy pauses at the shoulder hit, but then continues at two thirds speed. Tirzah smirks slightly.

The young Sebastien inclines his head at the shotgun, a smile touching his face. "I have one of these, mademoiselle. The reloading time can be, ah, prohibitive, but the versatility is unmatched. It brings fire and silver for the undead, as well as either a relatively light or a very strong punch for everything else. You just must consider this a small rifle. A folding stock would work well." He sets the largest of the cases down at his feet, and flickers a look over Kid. "So you have found a use for this rifle after all, non?" he asks, a smile teasing at his lips.

"Don't think they do that there, but I didn't really ask," Kid answers Sage. "I just got it traded in and they gave me options." She glances towards Tirzah again as she fires off that shotgun weapon, Kid not seeming too enamored with her sidelines view of it's effectiveness. "I picked up what I know without real specific training. People I know showed me how to handle a few weapons.. and how to fight." She looks back to Sage, her frown deepening at the words obviously meant for her from Sebastien. She caps her thoughts with, "Don't got no one I know to suggest for that. No one I trust anymore, anyway." Ultimately she seems to decide to leave the question unanswered, since she doesn't end up turning to say anything to the man. Yet.

Sage gives a nod to Kid's answer, before pursing her lips in thought. "I'll consider exchanging it, I guess." She comments before shrugging faintly to the comment about not having anyone to suggest for training. "Yeah, seems to be hard to find anyone that is willing and able to train." She glances back to Tirzah's practice for a moment, before she looks back to the others.

Tirzah nods, not letting Sebastien's favor break her attention as she lines up her next shot. She takes aim at the next accelerating dummy, intent on a head shot. Put her pace is hurried as she has not yet completely adapted to the scenario and her aim over compensates for the movement. Muttering at her own lacking she whips open the breach, feeding in two practice frag rounds. "You going to lecture or join?" She chides at Sebastien as she takes aim again. "Your friends, I think, would prefer I say neither." Sebastien smirks, unshouldering one case after the next to create a small pile in the next stall over. Some rattling, and presently he appears again with a large, rifle-style shotgun. Sliding in a short clip of loose rounds, Sebastien directs, "Put down the sawed off. Try this first. How long is it that you have been firing the shotguns?"

Kid pulls the NG-45LP out of her holster and offers it to Sage for a look. "Might get one of these. Hit's harder than a lot of rifles and has good range. Only problem is it doesn't have so many shots. But I don't plan to get into any drawn out fights, so it don't matter," she explains. It's a bit on the heavy side, though Kid handles it well. "Particle beam is what they say it shoots, but what comes out don't really matter to me, as long as it does the job and isn't too hard to handle." Her precise thoughts on Sebastien aren't stated, though the pointed ignoring that she seems set on for the moment may speak well enough.

A quick glance is given to Sebastien's first comment with a raised brow, Sage keeps a neutral expression otherwise. "Doesn't matter to me." She says simply, before setting aside her rifle in order to take the weapon offered by Kid. She considers it, turning it about to get a better sense of the options available on the weapon. While she does this, she speaks to the other person in the group. "Tirzah, can we have a chat sometime?" She asks simply, before she looks to Kid. "Would it be alright if I tried firing off a round?" She asks curiously, head tilting slightly to the side.

Tirzah shrugs accepting the offered alternative after smoothly holstering her own at her hip. "Since my early teens. Then they gave me rounds to practice firing a few years later when they felt I could handle the recoil. Does it show?" She asks with a slightly alluring tone. Conscious of Sage and more notably Kid's presence in the next stall. She didn't want to appear too friendly, and a little distance would help when the topic came up. Then the closing dummies back on her attention she sizes up the weight of the knight's gun and takes steady aim. "Sure, I think me and Sebastien have some things to pursue after this. But I'm planning a nice lunch at Yakov's tomorow." She offers, accented by another shot.

Sebastien walks around Tirzah, placing a hand on the rifle stock and snugging it in place against her shoulder before pointing downrange. "Oui mademoiselle, and to hit a moving target is not so easy, but remember that you will also be moving, which is an additional layer. What I would like you to try," he flips the switch, turning off the current simulation and covering the box, "Is just to point at the target as it rises. Do not even pull the trigger. Just get used to raising the rifle and pointing downrange when something rises. Then, after perhaps ten, begin squeezing the trigger after you point. If you take time to aim, I will drop the target back to the ground."

"Got some clips for a reason," Kid replies, setting the two in hand down on the counter before she starts fishing out the other four in various pockets. "It's just a little front heavy, but nothing too bad." The other clips laid down. "The one in there is fully charged, go nuts." Making a casual gesture down range along with that offer. "Probably won't be seeing too much use, but better to be prepared, even if I ain't no gunbunny."

Nodding faintly to Kid, Sage takes a moment to get a sense of the balance of the weapon with a more proper grip on it. "Thanks." She says to the other woman, before she turns towards the target range. "Makes sense..." She replies to the woman's last comment. She glances towards the other stall for a moment, "Might see you then." She comments simply, before turning her attention to the target range. She takes aim with the weapon as best she can figure based on her previous experience with weapons. She'll squeeze off a couple rounds to get an idea of where her shots are going.

Tirzah glares at Sebastien, slightly annoyed he chooses to lecture. "Is there a reason it takes ten seconds for you to aim?" She remarks coldly as she focuses on the first target, finding her center. "I'm not so methodical dear, that would be one of the water linked, patient to erode and carve a way. I'm impulsive, which has its faults, and advantages." She explains before easing a breath half out and firing at the target.

Sebastien winks at Tirzah, and taps the target dummy codes, starting and ending sequences quickly so the targets immediately rise and fall without giving any real time to move. "I am not so much a fan or these things," he speaks softly. "It is too easy to hurt the wrong person. Myself, I enjoy the swords, but sadly I find them ineffective against so many things." Sebastien idly begins to roll out more cheap loose shells, to reload Tirzah's 5-round magazine when she's spent.

Kid turns her head ever so slightly towards Sebastien and Tirzah. Not looking to them, though betratying that she's listening. Not that one could do anything but at such close quarters. Her frown lingers as she speaks to Sage, not translating into her voice. "Not much kick, but most energy pistols seem to be like that. A plus cause I trued firing some of those.. projectile guns. Too loud, too much recoil for me. Don't see the point in fighting a weapon just to get a good aim with it. Don't make no sense at all."

Taking a moment to notice where the shots landed, Sage seems to have better luck with the energy weapon than the rifle that she had been trying earlier. She glances back to Kid with a nod, "Yeah, I'm mainly just trying this..." She gestures to the rifle, "since I didn't have to pay for it and I wanted to try upgrading my weapons." She shrugs faintly, before going back to firing off a couple more rounds. Whether she's listening to the conversation one stall over is hard to tell, though.

Tirzah nods understanding the knight's preference. "Indeed. This is no city weapon. For that kind of engagement I have other methods..." She trails off and she drains the clip. One of the five slugs misses, which is to be expected. "I like the 5 rounds instead of two. Can it fire doubles? Does it have similar shell options." She enquires as she gets a feel for the weapon.

Sebastien chuckles softly, and pulls from his bag a drum. It's bigger than a dinner plate, thicker than War and Peace, and is fresh out of Peace. "The rifle can only take lighter shells, but is exceptional with silver," he notes, reaching across Tirzah to hit the clip eject, slide the clip off its rail, line up the drum, and slide it on up. "Now, so long as you hod the trigger it will keep firing," Sebastien notes, taking a step back. Peering at Tirzah, he takes another step back, carefully climbing around the back side of the barrier and nearly into Kid and Sage's stall. "Just try and hold on!" he calls, leaning forward to start a scenario before ducking out of the line of fire.

"It's up to you. But you won't be able to handle that in the city." Kid points at the rifle idly. "Me, I don't got out there, so all that really matters is if I can carry it in here. That pistol is a bit on the large side, but I can carry it. Don't make much sense to me, but.." She gives her shoulders a casual roll. "Kinda sucks, moving out of the Dregs. Used to have a few things I can't keep close no more. With the laws and shit." Casually dismissive of said vaguely referred to laws.

With the other practice shots out of the way, Sage turns away from the practice range. She begins to respond to Kid when she overhears part of what Sebastien is saying to Tirzah. Knowing what happened to her earlier with the fully automatic option on her rifle, she moves away from the target range side. Her hand coming up to halt Sebastien's progress towards her stall by presenting an obstacle in the middle of his back. She hands the weapon with the other hand back to Kid. She pauses, as she begins to recall Kid's comments. "Moving out of the Dregs?" She questions, raising a brow as she becomes curious about the locational change.

Tirzah nods, grunting at the exertion of the heavier clip. "Well that has its assets, and drawbacks then." She remarks as she does begin to tire from the larger weapon. "I think I'll stick with my plan on getting Wellington's new plasma thrower. Potent against the undead, and not so bulky." She says as she braces herself to unleash a burst of slugs at a poor defenseless target. "This definitely has an intimidation factor though." She remarks with a smirk.

Sebastien bites his lower lip and flashes a quick smile behind him as he's stopped by Sage, peering carefully around the lip of the stall as he watches Tirzah unload ten shots in two seconds. "And you can have this in town!" he replies, not budging from his halfway-between-stalls position. "It will not hurt modern armor, so this is legal." Kid isn't paying too much attention to things nearby at first, though she does eye Sage as the woman shifts. giving her an odd look. "Yeah.. I used to live on the edge of the place. Ain't much you can't do there, so long as you don't step on anyone's toes." Then she looks towards Sebastien and, with a slight shift of her head, Tirzah beyond. Idly she turns and takes a pair of steps back, moving away from the man, as she's just noticed his relative nearness.

Sage gives a faint roll of her eyes, but it could be either for Sebastien or Kid of both. "I know the place where you lived before, I was curious why you were leaving or where you were doing." She says, before moving to claim her rifle. "Either way, I'm not sure that this weapon is right for me..." She says simply, "So, I guess I'm done here." She says, glancing between those around her.

Tirzah shrugs before handing the smoking gun back to Sebastien and drawing his attention back to her as she smirks. "I think you are among those who realize that when it comes to what allowed inside the gate I am very far from under armed. No need to draw extra attention with this 'cannon'." She explains the slight intonation on cannon aimed at Sage. "Mounting it on my cycle though would be appealing." She offers in playful compromise. "Lets discuss the possibilities as we venture."

Kid retrieves her pistol, casually settling it back into her holster. "Well.. good luck finding whatever you're after. As to me, I moved cause of Riley, mostly. And I moved in near where you and Cali are now.. it's better, but different. Very different." That said with a slight frown on her part. Difference is not enjoyed greatly, it seems. She glances back towards TIrzah and Sebastien, her expression schooled into a careful neutrality.

Sebastien slowly makes his way back around the stall to grab the weapon, sliding what remains of the drum off and ejecting the last shell before checking the weapon, making sure it's safe to put away. "On your cycle?" Sebastien asks with a laugh, "Only if you would point it behind you! Otherwise this would be like those airplanes that stall when they fire their gun for lack of speed." He begins packing up his several cases, obviously having initially planned to shoot more. "Where was it you had in mind?"

Likely not thinking along the same lines as Tirzah, Sage glances over with a raised brow when she realizes some part of the comment was directed at her. Her attention drifts back to Kid with a considering look. "You'll get used to it, I'm sure." She says simply, before looking between the three people. "Take care." She says simply, before she begins to make her way out ofthe stall and towards the exit.

Tirzah nods to Sage with a smile. "See you tomorrow, likely." She says with a wave before turning back to Sebastien with a shrug. "Someplace we can speak our minds. Does that not mesh with your itinerary?" She teases with a playful smirk and a wink which oddly enough is directed at Kid.

Kid snorts faintly and turns back to the firing line slot abandined by Sage. "Yeah.. everyone says that," she murmurs, considering the spread of clips before pulling her pistol back out, leaning a hip against the firing station's counter. She pops the clip idly, dropping it onto he counter with a clatter before she picks up the next one that isn't drained. Snapping it in firmly, she lifts the pistol, she glances up slightly, catching the wink. She returns a general expression of noncomprehension, but given the direction she and he are going, Kid turns and looks down range. Taking a firm aim, she'll start firing off careful aimed shots.

"Only if this speech does not coincide with liquor!" Sebastien complains. "Drinking with you is like trying to match shots with the Grand Canyon." He meanders along beside Tirzah, large cases clinking as he moves, adding in a hushed tone, "Though, ah, if you get this flamethrower mademoiselle..." A little playful grin on his face, glancing aside as the redhead, "You will let me try it."

Sage glances to Tirzah, offering the woman a faint smile with a mild thoughtful look on her features. "Until we meet again." She says simply, before looking towards Kid. A look of slight amusement comes to her features but she decides not to comment further. Instead, she begins to walk towards the exit.

Tirzah grins with full allure. "My dear, I'm going to have you trying lots of things of mine before we're done." She says with a coy smile as she start firmly leading him from the range. "Come on, time's a wasting."

Kid doesn't seem much inclined to give the other two pause, mutely focusing on taking careful shots with her pistol, only slowly emptying her latest full clip.
