Kingsdale - Public Stables
The Public Stables is a facility that is perhaps one of the largest in Kingsdale. When one hears the word 'stable' they typically think of horses, maybe cows and pigs and the like? Whilst this place has them, it is so much more than that. Exotic beasts from all over North America are cared and looked after here -- special facilities existing to seperate them when required. For example, in the heavily guarded South West of the Stables one can find heavy renforced MDC structures that are meant to hold beasts such as Fury Beetles and the like as well as smaller stalls for horses and the like in other places. Trained handlers ensure that for a fee, each beast is well fed and well exercized. Armed KDM guards keep an eye on them as well. Near the entry to the stables is a small shop where one can buy tack and feed for almost anything as well as to 'check' your creatures in.
Players- Objects- Exits- Atticus Out
Knowning that she'll be within the stables to look at stables to look at the different kinds of animal mounts, Sage had let the Elf know that she'd be there and a rough idea of where he'd be able to find her. She has been walking slowly between the different stalls where she'd pause to quietly study each animal type. The more domesticated that end up being more bold with her are rewarded with friendly pets and pats as she considers them. The less dosmeticated ones seem not to mind her presence, but don't end up being as friendly as their domestic counterparts.
Atticus makes his way into the stables, humming to himself. He smiles as he eyes the various stalls, making his way towards Sage with a smile, reaching into his knapsack to come out with some carrots and a few apples. "I brought some items for them, and something for you as well. Greetings Sage, I hope the evening finds you well," he offers with a full smile.
A soft chuckle comes as the stall she's currently standing in front of has one of the more playful ones that begins to nibble on the fringes of her shirt. "Hey!" She says, with amusement and playfully bops the critter. "Behave..." She says, teasingly before she hears the Elf's words and turns to smile at him. "Hey Atticus." She says softly, before raising a brow at the comment about having something for her. She considers the carrots and apples. "And would that be a carrot or an apple?" She asks, with a hint of amusement in her tone. "And, the evening finds me well enough. I trust the same holds for you?"
"Chocolates, but I only have so many hands. What should I feel him or her - the carrot or the apple?" he asks. A grin as he offers both. "It finds me well. The weather isn't great, but it's acceptable enough. It hasn't been horrible enough to prevent me from working or getting done what I need to get done, you know?" he says as he settles against the stall wall. Sage raises a brow softly at the mention of chocolates, "You didn't have to..." She notes softly, "But, I'm not sure that's a good enough excuse." She teases him lightly with a grin playing on her lips. She nods to the comment about the weather. "It'll help the ground when its time to begin gardens, though." She notes, before glances towards the stall. She gives a mock glare to the creature within the stall. "He likes... narrow things. So, a carrot would likely be best." She offers, before looking back to the man. "And... are you disappointed that you still need to work?" This tease coming from his comments last time they met.
"Me, disappointed? NOt at all. If anything, I like to work to much," he says with a grin. He sets the apples aside and leans in to try to feed a carrot to the creature, smiling over at her. "Sorry, next time I'll hold the chocolate bag with my teeth or something," he notes, a smile causing his face to brighten.
"Mmhmm..." Sage responds simply to the man's comment about liking to work too much, but sounding like she doesn't believe him too much. Amusement shows in her eyes, but she decides not to press the tease any further. She gets the creature a fond pet while the Elf feeds it a carrot. An amused smile comes to her lips at the next comment. "If there's a next time... perhaps you should go out and come back in." She suggests, with a chuckle before she walks to the next stall. "I'm thinking of getting myself an animal like one of these." She makes a general gesture to the stalls, "But, I'm waiting back to hear from the stable master about whether there are any ... available, and whether I'd be able to afford one." She walks over to the next stall to consider the next specimen.
Atticus nods, "Why something like this, instead of another creature - what do you like about it?" he asks as he finishes feeding the creature a carrot and moves to another. He reaches into his cloak, coming out with a paper wrapped package of chocolates, smiling as he offers it to her on his palm. "Here you go. Want me to hold it in my teeth or something?" he asks.
Sage gives a mild shrug, "I haven't decided on one yet." She says simply, "I may end up going with a sturdy horse... or something else." She glances back to the man. "I just figured I'd see what other people had and see if something struck a chord with me." She says softly, before her gaze drifts to the chocolate. Her gaze raises to the Elf with a raised brow and a far too amused look on her feature. "I'm sure I could think of something if you truly wished..." She muses, her hand moving to begin gently lifting the bag from his.
Atticus smiles, "I leave that in your capable hands. I don't have a mount like this, I'll admit. Although I've rode horses before - back home, where I came from. Here, I never had anything beyond a simple cart for years and years. After I moved here I bought a big vehicle for special work, and a couple of months ago I bought a big truck to drive stuff around, btu I don't use them all that much," he admits.
"Thank you." Sage says simply once the chocolate packaging rests in her hands. She lets the playful ideas of how he could have presented them to her drift away to be replaced by other trains of thought. "Well, I'm not sure how much I'd use the animal beyond riding for pleasure and fussing over." She comments, giving a slight shrug. She glances back to the man, "No apple or carrot for this one... it has the look of something that prefers a good piece of meat." She mentions, not sounding put off in the slightest. She hms softly, "Well, I guess you had a while to learn how to drive one." Atticus smiles and takes the carrots, nodding as he moves to walk alongside her. "Indeed. I had to learn, and it was a bit frustrating - nothing like a horse - but I figured it out. I knew how when I moved to Kingsdale, I just never owned a vehicle. Didn't want to, didn't want to accumulate too much stuff," he explains with a full grin and a shrug. "So what are you up to tonight?"
Sage nods faintly, "They can be nice to ride in when the weather is like this too." She says, "Although, with a horse, you know its feeling about the same as you... so there's a bond of sorts, there." She begins to walk to the next stall. "And, I can understand that. Although, some of the stuff I accumulated had to be left behind when we moved here." She shrugs faintly, before turning to look at him instead of the next creature. "I don't have any plans in particular... and you?" She asks.
Atticus nods, rubbing his jaw as he walks along. "I don't. I was going to invite you over if you wanted. For dinner, or dessert, could get something sweet, or try dancing again or wahtever you wanted," he says as he walks along. "I did leave stuff behind in the village I was living in when I moved here - gifted them to various people before I loaded up my cart,' he offers.
Sage purses her lips as she considers the offer, "Could do something like that..." She comments, before holding up the bag of chocolates. "You seem to have already covered the something sweet already." She points out, before letting her hand drift back to a more natural position. Before she glances into the stall that she's come to stop at. "Awww... how cute..." She coos to the young creature in there. She smiles softly towards it, before glancing back to the Elf. She gives a faint nod. "Well, I'm not sure if my left behind stuff will end up being of use to anyone for a bit."
Atticus nods, "Specialized stuff, or just not sure?" he asks. He smiles as he puts the carrots and apples nearby - apparently for other visitors or the people that run the stables - and his hands slide into his pants, leaning over to examine the creature that she's looking into with a smile. "Llook at those horns. Those have to hurt," he adds, shaking his head with a grin.
"I don't expect there's anyone there to use them..." Sage says simply, before offering a mild shrug. She moves over to grab one of the apples before she comes back to the stall. She'll drop the apple down in front of the creature to let him decide whether he feels like eating right now or not. She looks back to the Elf at his comment, narrowing her eyes slightly but getting a small smile on her lips. "Bad experience with sharp pointy things?" She asks with a hint of mischief.
Atticus smiles, "Very, in the past, also I had a bad mental image of the creature flipping me off and spearing me in a very bad place," he notes, shaking his head with a grin. He clears his throat, settling into his lean as he watches the creature nuzzle at the apple. "But it seems nice enough, to be fair - not growling or attacking or anything," he says before glancing at her.
Since the Elf manages to smile as he relates the tale, Sage doesn't end up showing much concern over the matter. She raises a brow faintly to the comment about spearing him in a very bad place. "Did you deserve it?" She asks simply, sounding mainly curious but there may be a wisp of humour there as well. She turns to watch the creature interact with the apple and smiles softly. "Yeah..." She says softly, before she moves onto the next stall that has a well-groomed horse. She gives the horse's forehead a friendly rub. "That's a good girl." She comments, before offering the horse an apple as well. She'll hold the apple this time to let the horse gently eat the apple from her hand.
"I would say no, I mean, this was all a mental image, so who knows. But I try not to take advantage of anyone or act in an uncouth or unjust manner," he says as he rubs his jaw, smiling quietly as he steps into the next stall, offering the horse some rubbing on it's nose and it's head. Sage considers the man, and reaches out to poke him gently. "Well, I guess if I get an animal and don't want you to ride it... perhaps I should get something with horns." She says softly, "But, I guess that would be a little traumatic." She pauses, watching the man with the horse. "I guess I'm done looking for now." She comments softly, glancing further into the stables before looking back to the Elf.
Atticus grins at the poke, sticking out his tongue at her before leaning in to stroke the horse's head some more. "Probably very traumatic. Given what I know about first aid and medicine. Don't know I'd like to see if my mental healing is that good," he says with a full grin. "Alright, all done. You want to go somewhere else? You have any preference?" he asks. \ "Not that kind of trauma..." Sage says, before deciding to let the conversation topic drop. She considers the man, "Well, I still wouldn't mind getting a chance to ride even a horse at some point... but I guess I don't have too much preference. I think the garden will be on the quiet side tonight." She offers a shrug, "Anywhere inside will probably do, though." Atticus looks thoughtful, "Well. Hrm. Why don't we get some hot cocoa ont he way back, and we can hit the garden, or my place. Put our feet up and get comfortable. How about when the weather gets a bit better that we try that horse ride - go out riding around the city or maybe a bit out of it?" he asks.
Sage considers the man as he speaks, "If you want..." She says simply, "I suspect we'd only be overly cold if we lingered too long outside." She says, before nodding. "That sounds like a fair idea." She adds, before she begins to make her way towards where she hung up her coat. "Will you be driving?" She asks, looking back towards the Elf.
Atticus nods, "Given how cold it is, I did bring my truck to work today, so it's parked outside," he says with a smile and a shrug, rearranging his cloak as he begins to head towards the door. "I know a street place that has great hot tea and wonderful hot cocoa - I really am addicted to the stuff," he says.
"Good thinking." Sage says softly with a smile, before she takes her coat off the hook and slips into it. "And, I'm beginning to wonder how many things you're... 'addicted' to." She says with a little amusement as she moves to follow him outside. She'll pull up her hood before stepping outside.
Atticus laughs as he steps outside, pulling his hood up and walking out to an NTI-created heavy truck, opening the door for her before he slides in himself. "Chocolate. Sleeping in on Sundays," he says. "Tacos, sweet things. Solving mysteries. Helping folks. Those are the big ones that I know of," he says.
Kingsdale - Kingsdale City Museum (Garden)
Located to the east of the Library is an open garden that extends from the floor, up five stories to the skylight ceiling. The garden is forty feet across with a large, polished marble staircase circling the garden extending up to each floor. The staircase has dark, highly polished mahogany railings on both sides of the ten foot wide staircase. In the center of the garden is a fountain about ten feet across. The fountain depicts ten individuals of varying race and sex who supposedly founded the Kingsdale Library. A book placed on a pedestal is located in the center of the ten statues and spews forth water that flows past the statues feet and into the fountain pool. Marble benches circle the fountain and seem more decorative than functional. Marble paths circle the fountain and garden joining to many pleasant areas to think and enjoy the tranquility of the garden. Flowers seem in constant bloom and the hedges of the garden are said to be the healthiest and most beautiful in Kingsdale. The most striking thing about the central garden is that it is a hanging garden. Plants, flowers, and ferns line the walls extending from floor to ceiling on tiers. During the day sunlight enters the central garden filling the area with light that almost has a magical effect especially at noon when the sun is at its highest.
Having decided to go with an herbal tea, Sage walks into the garden with the cup in one hand and the bag of chocolates in the other. As she walks into the garden she glances around, "Yeah... there usually aren't too many people here on days like this." She comments, noticing the garden is pretty quiet at this point. She wanders over towards her alcove where she's developed quite the little place for herself. She sets down the cup and the chocolates before she finds the folded up blanket that she'd left there. "Its not quite as comfy to rest on as Vyvy's cloak, but it works well enough when you don't feel like using the benches." She mentions looking back to Atticus.
Atticus nods with a grin, moving over to sit with her, nodding with a grin as he takes a seat. "Sure thing," he says as he leans against the alcove, taking a long sip from his hot cocoa. "It is pretty cold and wet out, pretty miserable. The kind of night you just want to rest in front of a fire and read or relax or something," he says as he gets comfortable.
The blanket is spread out on the ground a short distance from her alcove. Sage takes a moment to collect her tea and chocolates before settling down on the blanket. She takes a sip from the tea, "No fires allowed in here... but if it becomes desirable, we can always go somewhere else." She glances up to the farther reaches of the garden. "I can't wait for the park to be... nice... so there'll be two places to enjoy." She comments softly.
Atticus nods, "It is very, very nice during the spring and summer," he admits, "I've had picnics and stuff there, it really really nice. Even if I haven't really spent any time here before," he says as he takes another sip from his cocoa, getting comfortable with one leg over the other - smiling over at her. "I do like a nice roaring fire - like a fireplace. Kind of miss that, to be honest. My place doesn't have anything like that."
"It can be nice to look at when its all white and pretty... but the cold wind tends to get to you after a while." Sage says softly, before indulging in the tea and allowing its warmth to seep into her. She shrugs faintly, "I take care of this place, so I tend to spend a fair bit of time here." She says, before considering the man with a thoughtful look as he speaks about his enjoyment of a nice fire. She doesn't say anything, though. Instead, she shifts her position and begins to lay down on her back while pushing her head to lay flat behind her head instead of trapped under it. "I don't get to just stare up at everything here, though..." She says, hands working briefly at the packaging for the chocolate. She pulls one out to consider it and the wrapping it has. "What kind are these?" She asks, turning it about in her hand.
"The brown wrapped ones are just chocolate. The blue wrapped ones have fruit in them, the red wrapped ones have caramel and the silver ones there have some sort of nuts or something," he replies with a smile as he watches her work on the packaging. He takes another long sip from his cocoa, settling his back against the wall, stretching back with a soft grunt. "I like the out of doors, just don't spend as much time there as I used to, I imagine," he adds.
"Ah..." Sage replies, peeling off the blue wrapping before she reaches over to quickly drop it into the man's hot cocoa. "Only fair that you get the first one." She muses, her head turning slightly to smile with some mischief. Then she looks back up into the upper reaches of the garden. "I probably don't as much either... but this city is very different than I'm used to.." She lets her gaze drift from side to side of the different displays above. Her hand disappears into the chocolate packaging and pulls out a red wrapped one. "What's caramel?" She asks softly, frowning faintly as she unwraps this new chocolate. The same outer appearance not being much help.
Atticus grins, "Thank you," he says as he eyes that chocolate, said chocolate dipping immediately to the bottom of the cocoa cup. "That'll melt nicely," he says as he looks up at the upper reaches of the garden, looking comfortable as he's relaxed back. "The city is very different. But good as well," hes ays. "Caramel is like ... hrm. It's a sugar, I'm told. It's what happens when you take sugar and a little water and boil it until it turns golden brown and sticky, and sweet and oh so good."
"No problem." Sage replies softly with a hint of amusement in her tone, "And give a nice fruity flavour, no doubt." She adds, content to let the man figure out what he wants to do about the sunken chocolate. She listens to his words as about the city and studies the chocolate a little before she decides to try it. She takes a small nip from it as if it were a handshake of sorts. Then, slowly she begins to devour the rest and savours the flavours as they come to her. "I see..." She says softly afterwards, with a content smile on her lips.
Atticus grins, "You like it, I can see. You can make it at home, but I've only done that once or maybe twice," he explains. "But it's really good - on stuff. Like on fruit, or on ice cream, or treats," he says as het akes another long sip from his cocoa, reaching down to scratch at his knees. "Glad you really like it."
"It's... nice." Sage comments, sitting up a little to be able to sip from the remaining tea she'd set off to the side. She puts the bag of chocolates off to the side between them. She puts her hands behind her head for the time being. She bends her knees as well. "I haven't really made many sweets... just cooking healthy meals for the most part." She comments, before she purses her lips. "Do you know any good games to play?" She asks, briefly glancing over to the man to see how he reacts to her sudden change in topic.
Atticus nods, "I don't cook a lot of healthy meals. Some, but not a lot," he admits as he takes another sip before putting his cocoa down and sliding his hands behind his head. "Hrm. SOme musical games. A couple of card games someone taught me," he says after some thought. "That's probably about it I think. Why do you ask?"
Sage gives Atticus an odd look as he admits that he doesn't cook many healthy meals, "Then, I guess I wont have you cook many meals then." She says with a faint tease, "But, you seem to do alright... unless you're wearing something to make yourself look thinner or something." She raises a brow, considering the possibility for a moment. She nods to the comments about the games. "Just figured there had to be some different ways that city folk amused themselves..." She comments, "On days like this, for example."
Atticus looks at his shirt, lifting it up and bit and shaking it, "Not really. But I do a lot of walking and a lot of it is probably my body that just burns through food really quick," he notes as he rubs his jaw, taking a sip from his cocoa. "Well, normally I'd be lazing on the couch in my shorts and a tshirt. Watching a movie, listening to music, writing music, working on a report, maybe cleaning a weapon or just hanging out doing nothing but resting. Or reading, I really like to read," he says.
Another chocolate is plucked out and gently tossed into the man's lap, "Perhaps I should make you eat all the rest then." She comments softly with a mischievous smile. She considers the man's words on what he's normally do. "Instead, you're sitting in a garden, listening to a fountain and getting chocolates toss at you..." She comments, "Quite the difference." She looks back to the upper levels once more. "Hm... I suppose you might get bored..." She glances back to the man with a speculative look.
Atticus grins and reaches for the chocolate, unfolding it and snapping it in half, taking a bite before offering the other half to her mouth. "Doubt that. You're interesting. You're not going to be boring or anything like that to me. Not at all. Too much to talk about and to experience," he says as he rubs his jaw and concentrates on eating his half of the chocolate after that. "Besides, this is nice - as long as we dont' spend hours out here," he says with a grin.
Sage's mouth plays hard to get as they don't part to admit the chocolate despite her being aware of its presence. Whether he'll persist in offering the chocolate or not, she'll leave up to him. She lets her eyes slide shut and she takes a calming breath before she finds herself in her comfort spot. Her mind reaches over to his, << Think of something nice... >> She prompts, deciding for the moment to move the level of interaction beyond merely verbal. "We don't have to." She says softy to the comment about spending hours here.
Atticus pauses the chocolate - it seems unwilling to really force it. He leaves it near her mouth though, and as she speaks to him mentally he seems to grow thoughtful. His mind soon focuses and he's thinking about a comfortable wide couch - a big thick blanket, a fireplace with what appears to be a stew or chili simmering in a pot over the fire, fresh bread nearby and smelling rich and aromatic. There's music playing, something involving a guitar.
With the chocolate lingering there, Sage raises her head slightly to brush her lips against the chocolate but still doesn't take it as she settles back down. She considers the mental impressions that she gets from him. "Does that place exist?" She asks softly.
Atticus smiles, "It an amalgam of places, to be honest. My parents living room with the fireplace, the couch at my apartment, the music that people at the tavern used to play when I was sleeping at night - in the village I first lived in when I came to this planet," he replies with an easy smile.
Sage's lips purse, "Is that what you'd want for a place then?" She asks softly, keeping her eyes closed. << Imagine yourself in there... >> She mentally suggests, as if curious how the man pictures herself. She seems content to ignore the chocolate for the time being, leaving the man to decide once more what he wishes to do with it.
Atticus lets his hand with the chocolate drop some and he smiles. "Alright," he murmurs and seems to concentrate. He lets an image come to his mind - a sort of stone and earth wrought tower with a wide base - somewhere he can view the stars at night, a modern kitchen on the inside, carpet, a comfortable couch, fireplaces. A sunken bath in the floor, a modern shower - a library filled with bookcases full of old style books. A mixture of old-style - from his original world - and the modern conveniences he's met.
A frown forms on her features as the place changes, but the man doesn't seem to appear within the imagine. Her eyes open to notice the hand has moved some but not withdrawn. She reaches up with her hands to grasp his hand and bring the chocolate back towards her mouth. "I don't see you there..." She notes, before she makes a good show of biting the chocolate so that the man might momentarily worry for his fingers before she lets his hand go before munching on the chocolate.
Atticus grins at her, trying not to start or jerk his hand away at the biting. "Well, that's true. One second," he says as he closes his eyes again. He gets comfortable and relaxed again and begins to imagine his place once more - for long minutes, before he begins to focus on himself - Atticus, pretty much as he looks outside, dressed in a casual green tunic and dark brown pants, lounging on the couch with a book, tea nearby.
With the chocolate gone, Sage will let the man take his hand back unscathed. She considers the man silent as he closes his eyes to concentrate on his place and then himself. When the imagined version of him appears, she briefly looks him over to compare. Then she closes her eyes before an impish grin forms as she begins to send subtle mental vibes in an attempt to disrupt the man's rather ordinary display of himself with a book.
Atticus tilts his head, a smile that seems a bit confused as his mental image changes somewhat - a breeze that slides through the room, the book sliding slightly from his fingertips as if they were weakened - the tea cup rattles a touch on the plate, causing him to look over with a slightly smile to focus on it.
Sensing the man's confusion, Sage begins to ponder what else she might be able to do when she inserts one last thing into the mental vision the other man has become. The suggestion that an ice cube is about to slide down his back. Once that is done, she waits and opens her eyes to consider him. As if wondering if he'll have any outward reaction.
Atticus starts as if he's really been shocked or the ice cube is coming down his spine. A bit of a gasp and his eyes open, and he smiles down at her, shaking his head slightly as he regards her. "That was mean," he tells her softly, but there's no heat in his voice at all, his eyes sparkling as he shakes his head. "But funny in a way," he allows with a smile.
A grin forms on her lips as the man gives a start at her mental suggestions, Sage closes herself off from the man's thoughts after that. "Hmmm?" She asks, as if trying to pretend that she doesn't know what he's speaking about. She pushes herself back up to a sitting position having relaxed long enough on the blanket that's stretched out on the ground. The Elf sitting beside her with his back against the wall. "I guess you do really like books." She comments, trying to distract away from the man's idea she'd done something to his imaginings.
Atticus smiles and tilts his head, "WEll, I do. I really do like books and," he says, as there's a squawking at his hip, the Elf, picking up a handheld radio to listen to it for a few moments before speaking into it. "This is Atticus. Slow down and say that again?" He listens some more before he frowns and rises, shaking his head to Sage, "My apologies Sage - I will owe you for this. Someone's son is missing and I need to get going - he's done this before. I should get right on this - I'll pay you back for having to leave early, I promise," he notes before he begins to head from the garden at a jog, speaking into the handheld radio. "Alright, slow down Miss Eght. Just stay where you are. I'm coming to you."
A thoughtful look is given to the Elf as he begins to speak about his interest in books. Sage frowns faintly as the man's handheld radio makes some noise. She listens to the words being spoken and realize that it means the man will be called away. She nods faintly to the man's apologies. "Don't worry about it... that sounds more important anyway." She comments, hiding her mild disappointment for the time being. She watches the man go, before her attention shifts to the chocolates that are the sole reminder that he even met with her. She doesn't seem to be terribly interested as she begins to rise from the blanket and kneels off to the side as if she'll fold it back up.
Tirzah enters the gardens just as the man is leaving. She shoots him a sidelong glance as he tries to calm the lady on the radio. But otherwise pays him no heed. Her sword at her hip she walks over to the purple flower and Sage's enclave. She takes her time, not wanting to startle Sage she lets her feet scuff a bit. She walks up on her friend folding up her blanket. "Hey." She says, anouncing herself simply.
The presence of footsteps is noted just before the other woman speaks as Sage's gaze shifts to the source of the noise. A curious look shifts to recognition as she realizes who it is. "Hey..." She says softly, finishing up the last fold in the blanket before she rises full to her feet. "What brings you to my garden?" She asks softly, managing a small smile. Tirzah shrugs lightly. "You wanted to talk." She explains with a smirk. Her looks is casual, and curious. Ever since the battle everything's been well knit. These were the wheels of fate the seer of the village mentioned. Events all closely tied. Controlled by forces undiscernible, reactant to few.
"Ah..." Sage says softly, "I guess with the weather the way it is, its a good day to talk." She says, "Chocolate?" She asks, raising the bag for the woman's inspection. There are four different coloured wrapping marking off different fillings.
"You can use the blanket for a cushion, if you like." She offers as well, tilting her head to consider the other woman. "And, perhaps you can tell me a little about the way you view the world..." She pauses to purse her lips, "Unless... you don't mind me seeing it straight from your mind." She asks with a little hesitation. "Its... something I just recently discovered I could do."
Tirzah shrugs again pretty easy going. She raises an eyebrow at the offered sweets. She picks the red one, predictably. Unwrapping it she shakes her head at the offered blanket. "I'm alright sitting without." She explains as she does just that. "My view of the world? I'm not sure and being unsure, I cant say I'd agree with your perception of that view. True or not. Could you explain some more?"
The red wrapped ones being caramel-filled. Sage nods to the woman's comment, and puts the blanket away before settling down in her alcove. "I suppose it is partially point of view... you just seem to have a unique view... like what you described about yourself when we... did that ceremony." She says, "But, my point of view would be coloured by my connection to nature. So... I would consider things like bionics to be unnatural." She says softly giving a slight shrug. "City life is quite a bit different from the wilderness too... it feels like a different world, but I'm adjusting." She pauses, unsure of what else to say.
Tirzah nods in understanding. She considers her view under those guidelines taking time to ponder recent events and their impact. "I look out at the world and I see it is balancing. From any perspective events unfold that change perceptions and cause reactions. Things settle, things unsettle. Back and forth, cause and effect, like a swaying scale." She explains, wondering if she adequately described her perception of forces and reactions.
Having explained the general idea, Sage quiets down to listen to Tirzah speak about her own views. "I guess that explains why you're enjoying toying with Sebastien." She says, pursing her lips. "I admit I'm curious about what you're doing... but you don't need to tell me. Might be more fun to muse about." She pauses briefly, before she gives a soft sigh. She sets the chocolates off to the side as she seems to lose interest in them. Her gaze drifts for a moment before coming back to rest on Tirzah. "Have you settled into the city at this point? I mean, found everything you need to so far?"
Tirzah shakes her head as she slips the chocolate into her mouth. She lets it melt, coating her tastes with the chocolate and caramel. Working it around her saliva finishes the mix making a sweet sauce that's delightful to swallow, but regretted when gone. "I'm more comfortable now than I was. Not getting surprised as much. But, I haven't found my reason to stay here yet. I know there are things for me here to be found, but they could also be found elsewhere. Really I only stay as I'm here now, no point in looking elsewhere yet. But its not fulfilling. I need a true reason, a calling. Sebastien suggested I offer protection, its appealing, but its not quite enough."
As if sensing the other woman's enjoyment or simply drawing from her own experience of the same treat, Sage will gesture briefly to the package. "There's more if you want." She says softly, before she thoughtfully listens to the woman's words. She purses her lips and considers the woman for a quiet moment. "I may be able to help." She says softly, "If you can help me understand what you'd consider giving you a purpose." She says, smiling softly. "I'm help Isabeau find something to get involved in already." She adds.
Tirzah shrugs, taking a green chocolate from the pack and holding it as she reflects more. "That's just it. I dont know what would give me a purpose. I can't yet grasp what this city needs from me. I know there is a valuable kernal inside us all, an opportunity to contribute to our fullest potential. But I haven't seen mine here. Perhaps my skills are too domestic for the city. Gardening, cooking, holistic's, blacksmithing. In any village I could breeze through life as indispensable. Here I feel less valued, tarnished."
The green one is just a plain chocolate one this time. Sage raises a brow faintly, before smiling softly once more. "I felt similarly when I came here." She says softly, "And, while I may depart at some point... I have found a little niche to grow roots." She purses her lips, and shows faint amusement at her choice of words. "I don't know how to use much technology... but it hasn't really stopped me from being useful in my own way." She gestures to the garden, "A nice woman helped me get a position here... and a place to stay." Her smile growing warm as she thinks of the woman, her gaze shifting back to Tirzah. "And, I wouldn't count your skills out too much." She says, "After all, there seems to be a demand for gardening that I will be helping to fill for Rasputin's deli and possibly working out plans to use in Laramy. Although, I suppose you wouldn't be able to go help directly due to the Coalition." She takes a thoughtful pause. "Perhaps there are chances for.. alternative care that I have considered trying to set up." She adds, "And, there'll be demand for good cooks. How skilled are you?" She tilts her head as she continues to consider the woman, "But, what gives you joy?"
Tirzah unwraps the chocolate and considers that. Nibbling a sliver off to savor she furrows her brow. She had been so overwhelmed in coming here, and then so homesick in being here. She had forgotten about her true pleasure. "I'm a decent cook, I wouldn't call myself professional. But provided I keep it simple I can be impressive. My joy, my joy is treasure, and exploration. I used to trek out into the wilds for a week or so, venture to long forgotten ruins. Just to see what was there. Most of what I found was inconsequential, but I'd bring it back, polish it up, make something from the discarded, and pass it on."
A gentle nod is given to the other woman's comments about her cooking prowess, before Sage raises a brow lightly at the woman's comments about her joy. She smiles faintly, "Then, perhaps you could try convincing Vyvian to let you come along if she gets the permission to dig about in the ground... she's looking for treasure... even if she likely wouldn't call it that." She says, using soft humour but there's a sincerity to the comment as well. "Although, I suppose a city is full of treasures that people that live here may overlook easily." She offers with a slight shrug, before she mulls something over. "Does that mean you can make things look new again or something like that?" Her tone curious.
Tirzah nods as she nibbles off another sliver. "To an extent. Mostly I would take some things past their use and make something new. In the village recycling was key, and with my fires I found a natural ability to break things down to their basic states and make something else." She considers the discarded scraps of the city. She had been to the dregs, and the dump. Summoned a fire elemental for security. But the scraps of the city were quite diluted to her. Too many diapers. She needed a pure ruin. "What is Vyvy hunting for?" She asks with interest.
"Ah..." Sage replies with a thoughtful tone as she considers what has already been said and what is being said. "I may have to think some on what niche you may be able to fit into... assuming you're interested in what I come up with, of course." She doesn't sound like she's too concerned one way or the other. "As for Vyvy, I think she's mainly looking for gems and other valuables... but who knows what else she might find." She says, "I may even be able to help her, but I'm not sure yet." She purses her lips, "Of course, you'd have to ask Vyvy..."
Tirzah nods, chewing into the rest of the chocolate. Then she gets up, feeling like she's sat a long time. "I think I will. Its high time I stopped mopping around this city like some lost child. I have something to offer, insight others do not share. I think I'll go see if anyone likes it." She says with a confident smirk. "Thanks Sage, I owe you more every time we meet."
"You have take the rest if you like." Sage says, offering the bag of chocolates. "It was bought for me, but it seems like you might need them more for the time being." She wont press them on the other woman if she declines. "But, I'm glad I could help." She smiles, raising to her feet. "And, I'm sure we'll figure out some way that I may end up owing you." She chuckles softly.
Tirzah nods taking the bag gladly. "That would be balanced." She says with a grin before heading out. Tags: atticus, sage, tirzah
