Kingsdale - Yakov's Deli
Rasputin's Deli is a lively place, normally a short man is behind the counter serving up orders of beef, brisket, chicken, pork, sausage, fish and just about every other type of meat product you can imagine. Rasputin's is a well known secret to low, medium and high class people of all type. Rasputin has all sorts of customer's coming and going at all times of day or night. He isn't open 24-hrs, but he might as well be. As you walk into the Deli, next to the door is a small lunch counter which faces out into the street. Opposite to the deli counter are four small booths. Both of these locations serve as eating space for those that choose to grab a quick bite of food or one of Yakov's and Rasputin's famous five meat monster deli sandwiches. Most people don't use these booths, but the lunch counter is constantly being used, as it provides a great people watching vantage.
Moments after the doors are open Tirzah is inside, ordering a hearty skillet to get her through the day ahead. She decides not to order for Sage, whom she expects to join her but orders a pitcher of juice for some consideration. Carrying both over she sets up in a booth and starts to eat while she waits.
It may take a mouthful or two before it happens, but Sage enters the deli before too long. She makes a brief stop at the coat rack before heading towards the counter. She purses her lips before electing to go with the sandwich that was named after her. While she waits, she turns to look over the deli.
Tirzah waves to Sage to invite her over between mouthfuls. Refilling her juice from the pitcher she checks her napkins, taking extra care to be neat in her gown.
Favouring her partner with a small smile when she sees the wave, Sage turns to accept her meal before heading over towards the booth that the redhead sits in. She walks to the other side of the booth and settles down her food before slipping into her side of the booth. "Hey..." She says softly as she begins to settle.
Tirzah nods to Sage with an adoring stare. "Good morning." She greets, setting her fork town to give the meal a break and converse. "You still interested in seeing the village i came from and the people who raised me?" She asks, her tone not indicating any expectations for the question.
As she's about to grab her sandwich to begin on it, Sage notices the other woman set down her fork and pauses as she realizes the other woman is likely to come out with the reason for asking her here. She purses her lips at the question, and her gaze drifts over the other woman's features. Giving herself a moment to consider before a soft smile comes to her lips. "Sure." She says softly with a little warmth in her tone. "Although, I suppose it will be for slightly different reasons now." She comments.
Tirzah smiles warmly at Sage with the mention of reasons. "There are all kinds of reasons to go anyway. We'll head out in a week, perhaps two. I've contracted some escorts for the trip and a vehicle for everyone so it should be nice, I'm not expecting much trouble getting there. Once there we'll have a few days so feel free to get to know people. There will probably be a dinner of some sort. So lots of opportunity for you I imagine." She explains before picking out another bite of her skillet.
Her head tilts slightly to the side as Sage looks over at her partner, "This is for your idea to find a deposit of gems or crystals right?" She asks, as she considers the information provided. "And, do you know who all is going yet?" She nods faintly to the comments about mingling with people while there. Then, she turns her attention to the sandwich briefly as she grabs it to take a bite out of it.
Tirzah nods, setting her fork aside again. "Zachary is coming to give us some knowledge on what them gems we find, if any, can do. He's also providing the atv which was very nice of him I think. I've hired Maxy and Rebekkah for support, you remember Maxy of course." She notes, who could forget her. "Rebekka is a Power Armor pilot and will add to the group with her flying titan suit." She summarizes for Sage before taking a swallow from her juice.
A faint nod is given to the mention of Zachary and his contributions, as Sage lowers the sandwich a little but doesn't set it back down for the time being. She gives a soft chuckle to the mention of remembering Maxy, "Yes, I remember her." She comments, before looking thoughtful for a moment. Then she considers the other name. "I'm not sure if I've really met Rebekka." She mentions with a faint shrug before she begins on her sandwich once more.
Tirzah nods, shrugging herself. "I hadn't either but she came pretty well recommended or the power armor so why not. 5000 credits if we find nothing. Still got to get in touch with Maxy to see what her price may be." She explains before taking up some sauce to add some zest to the skillet.
A thoughtful look is given to her partner by Sage when she hears the other woman hasn't really met the person before. "Well, let us hope whoever provided the recommendation is reliable." She comments, before nodding faintly to the comment about seeing what Maxy's price would be. "I suppose I can try to sense natural deposits, and provide healing if necessary..." She comments, before turning her attention back to the sandwich.
Tirzah grins at Sage's need to be helpful. "I'm sure Denma will appreciate it. I know i will always appreciate your healing talents as well." She assures with an approving look. "Any questions about the trip? Or requests?" She then asks Sage, curious if she left anything of import out.
A small smile comes to the mention of someone appreciating her helping hand, before giving a look of faint amusement to her partner. "And, what I gave you is but a small taste..." Before her features shift away from amusement, "Although, I hope to never have to use greater on you..." She frowns faintly at the thought. She shakes it off after a moment as she purses her lips in thought. "Well... I'm sure you can handle the arrangements of supplies and other things." She comments, before pauses briefly. "I suppose knowing more about the people I'll be meeting might be good... but that doesn't have to be now."
Tirzah considers that, indicating there was something she missed. "Yes I guess I should give you something to go on before just throwing you in. I'll see about making a profile for you so you might recognize them and what they do." She offers for Sage. "Otherwise though I think I can let you get on with your day. Try not to work too hard." " A faint smile comes to Sage's lips as the other woman agrees to provide her with a little information about the people she'll be meeting. "That would be appreciated." She comments, before pausing at the mention of sending her on her way. "There is something else you're missing in that case..." She comments, deciding to let the other woman guess her intentions as she goes about finishing off the rest of her sandwich.
Tirzah snickers as she catches on and makes quick use of her napkin before pushing her breakfast aside to lean over na embrace Sage. "How could I forget that? I must be losing my touch." She notes with a cunning grin. "Or maybe I wanted to see if you would remember it." She adds.
"Of course, it could be more comfortable to come over here or for me to go over there." Sage says softly to her partner as she tries not to make the embrace too awkward with the table and dishes between them. She turns her head to kiss Tirzah's cheek during the embrace before pulling back slowly. << Will we spend the night together before we go? I don't imagine we'll get much privacy when we go... >>
Tirzah grins mischievously at Sage. As she sits back down from the leaning embrace. "Your welcome to come over to me whenever or wherever you like Sage." She decides to answer with a grin. "And a week or two before we go. Hopefully we get together a few times before hand." She suggests, her grin becoming devilish.
Despite it being started by her suggestion to begin with, Sage gives a little shy look as the other woman seems to suggest something a little bit more. She smiles after a moment, though. She pauses briefly to tangle her finger within her hair, "I think my people will want to meet soon... not sure if it'll be before or after we go..." She mentions.
The door opens, letting the rain in briefly, along with a woman in a raincoat, covering her flared skirt and t-shirt, protecting her from the rain along with the black, lacy umbrella. She shakes the water off that, before stepping into the deli, turning as she folds it down. A moments hesitation and she is moving towards the counter, her step confident, quick. As she moves, she unbuttons her raincoat, unwinding a black and white scarf from her neck.
Tirzah raises her brow that the new topic as she pulls her skillet back in front of her. "Oh? Should I come if they do? For support or something?" She asks a bit at a loss on where things stand with Sage and her people after all is said and done. "We could hold off on my trip until after if that's better. I don't think the village is going anywhere." She notes with a smile.
Giving the other woman a thoughtful look, Sage purses her lips and may even nibble a little at her lower lip. Her finger getting tangled within the lock of hair. There's a little uncertainty in her eyes. Instead of answering the question, she voices one of a few concerns. "What if they want to head back to the community and want me to go with them?" She asks softly, eyeing her partner. She takes a calming breath, "I'm not sure you need to delay your trip, though..." She comments softly.
The black haired woman gives the man behind the counter a broad grin, tucking her coat over her arm as she considers her options. The menu gets a long look and then she rattles off an order, apparently seeking a large sandwich with various meats in it, and a large drink. That supplied, she turns, hesitating in her choice of tables. Her hazel eyes move across the benches, finally settling on one near the two women.
Tirzah gets firm in her look at Sage, looking set on her answer. "You mean what if you are duty bound to go with them? I am duty bound to go with you, whatever the implications. So don't worry about choosing between me and them, that's not a choice I'd force. Instead, given the way your adversary has intervened so far, worry about the choice that he will force." She suggests, her tone calm. "Dont let him divert your attention, know him, and his desires and you'll see it all coming."
A brow raises faintly as the other woman uses the words 'duty bound' the second time, as Sage considers the other woman. "You're duty bound?" She asks softly, "I don't recall pressing you into service with an oath." She says with a faint wisp of humour in her tone. She smiles faintly at the comment about not forcing that choice. She gets a thoughtful look and gives a faint nod, as her lips purse once more. She slowly untangles her hair.
The sandwich is dispatched with a quickness that speaks of hunger, her coat and umbrella on the bench beside her. The black haired women spends a moment in silence as she finishes the food, absently eavesdropping on the conversation from the next booth. A faint trace of interest emerges in her eyes as she pushes her plate away, leaning back, her hands resting on her stomach.
Tirzah smiles warmly at Sage, her gaze soft again as she takes a moment to have some more of her breakfast. "You didn't of course. That's my commitment, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Its right, I feel." she says and leaves it at that, her glance straying to take note of the girl who sits near them as she takes a sip of her juice.
Taking a moment to let her gaze drift over the other woman appreciatively, Sage smiles softly before reaching to take up a glass of fruit juice. "I suppose I should see if there are any other unspoken commitments lurking under the surface... but, I think that might be best left for another time." She says with a warm fondness in her tone. She takes a sip from the juice before following a glance by the other woman to find a woman has taken a seat nearby. "Hey..." She offers as a soft greeting.
The girl takes a slurp of her drink, before putting it down and glancing up, a brief flash of surprise on her face at the greeting before her mouth curves into a broad grin. "Hey there!" She lifts her drink, a small toast to Sage, hazel eyes twinkling. "Sorry, I didn't mean to overhear." The grin widens, before she rubs her stomach, turning her head to consider the cake stand.
Tirzah looks to the girl then sage and back with a shrug. "Wasn't essentially provite I dont think. Sage isnt that kinky." She notes with a tease and smirk. "Hello, I'm Tirzah." And she gestures to her partner. "Sage."
With the greeting she receives, Sage can't help but smile at the woman sitting at the other table. She gives a faint shrug to the apology, "Its okay." She says, before giving the redhead a sideline gaze. << Something tells me I should tease you later with... >> She muses into the other woman's mind before turning her attention back to the other table.
"Maya. I work at the hospital, the one in the Dregs." The teasing comment earns Tirzah a broad grin and a laugh. "New in town, you see." The flow of information is only stemmed by the drink, another slurp taken, before she sets it down. Sage's smile is returned with a grin, before she settles back, giving them the choice to continue or not.
Tirzah smiles at the unspoken muse but gives Maya the due attention. "Nice to meet you. I'm a warlock and guide for Jelani's Adventure's." She returns, her tone prideful. "I've been to the hospital, great place all things considered. What do you do there?" She enquires.
The comments made by the new woman interest her more than reacting to the laughter at the teasing. Sage considers the woman, "I was thinking of helping out there too... but, at the time it was going through a transition period." She mentions, with a faint shrug. "I'm a bit of a healer myself." She comments, before nodding to the question that Tirzah poses.
A glance between the two women reveals a brief curiosity but Maya hides it well enough. "I am a doctor, but I do a lot of pathology, and some forensics,..." She shrugs, dismissive of her own skills, "It is a very nice hospital." Warm approval in her voice, and the grin returns. Interest sparks in her gaze when Sage confesses to being a healer. "We still have plenty of work to go around."
Tirzah glances to Sage, not having heard of that intention though it made perfect sense. Smiling encouragingly she nods to Sage. "You should explore that perhaps. Just let me know your schedule if you do so I can get you there and home safely." She suggests in a protective moment before looking back to Maya. "What are your arrangements for your travel?" She then asks, the topic making her curious.
The intention had happened before the redhead had become part of her life, Sage glances between the two of them. "I was thinking more of a fill-in than a full-time position." She comments, "I can do most things a doctor could... sometimes better... but, it would tire me out quickly if I had to do it all day."
Maya glances between the pair, her grin widening. "I walk." She replies to Tirzah's question, tilting her head questioningly. "Should I not be?" The drink is finished, shaken to be sure of it. Sage's comments brings a spark of attention. "Tiring? How so? Are you a psi user?" The quick questions are fired off in rapid succession.
Joshua enters the deli and pauses briefly to survey the patrons, before heading to the counter.
Tirzah shrugs before finding another bite from her skillet. "Depends on your capabilities I guess, and what your comfortable with. I don't go into that part of town without armor and a full reserve of arcane energy to through at trouble. I wouldn't sit well if Sage walked there without protection. But if you know the area and are prepared I don't imagine it would be much of an issue." She explains for Maya. "Especially if you work for the hospital and no ones got a grudge with you." She adds.
Sage lets the other two women discuss their views about wandering about the Dregs, glancing between them. "I have been told enough times to avoid going there that I typically don't." She comments, giving a faint shrug as she doesn't really have the street smarts on this matter. Her gaze settles on Maya as she considers the other woman. After a moment, she decides its safe enough to nod the question. "I suspect I'm rather different in some ways than any other ... in a city." She adds the last part, before she looks to the redhead. "And I would appreciate the protection." She assures the other woman.
Joshua's arrival is met with sudden movement from Maya, sliding from the stool, to offer him a large hug. "Joshua! This is Sage, and Tirzah." She waves a hand towards them, before releasing the man, turning back to her seat. Sage's answer doesn't give her any further understanding of the woman's abilities, but she nods, accepting the answer. "You don't like the city?" Joshua accepts the hug a bit awkwardly. "Howdy, Maya," he says, a bit gruffly. "Ladies."
Tirzah nods smiling demurely at the introductions and the greeting. Then looking at Sage she gives her love a look of promise. "Any time love." Before looking back at maya and the questions she poses at Sage, and then Sage again. Her expression growing curious as she hadn't considered How comfortable Sage is here.
With the arrival of the man, Sage looks over to the man and offers a faint smile. "Hey..." She comments, "We've met." She confides, before looking to Tirzah briefly with a smile. Then her attention drifts back to Maya. "I am tied to nature... but, I could do the most complex surgery with no tools... and leave no scar." She comments to Maya, trying not to sound boastful.
Maya is settled, obviously considering ordering another, even as Sage speaks. "That is a useful skill. We should keep you in mind, when things get busy." A flicker of her grin, and she decides against a drink, pushing the empty mug away. "I should go. I am due on shift shortly." A hesitation, where she holds back an obvious rant about something. "Pleasure to meet you both. See you soon, Joshua." She rises from the table, moving towards the door with a casual wave.
Joshua tips his hat as Maya leaves, and turns to receive his order. He nods to Sage. "So we have," he notes. "Sage, innit?"
Tirzah looks to the man form Sage with the indication of having met. Not recalling having met him herself she shrugs as she looks him over. Then looking back to Sage she decides not to let they other topic escape her comprehension. "Was Maya on to something about being comfortable here?" She asks gently, having no idea really.
"Take care." is offered to the departing woman before she turns her attention to the remaining people. "Yes." Sage replies to Joshua, confirming her own name. "I'm glad you were able to help me recover the book. I'm not sure if I got a chance to properly thank you for that." She comments, before glancing over to her partner. "It was a difficult transition when I first got here." She comments, "But, nature can take root in just about any place."
"'Tweren't no problem, ma'am" Joshua replies. "Ain't no need to go thankin' the hired help." He grins and drink from the cup set in front of him. "'Sides, that little job kept me in wine and song fer a week."
Rasputin's voice can be heard ringing out from the basement deli. "Sleep, good boy, my beautiful, bayushki bayu, quietly the moon is looking into your cradle." He presents himself with arms full of a large tub of something. He softens his singing as he makes his way into the main room of the deli, "Stanu skaz}vat' ya skazki, and sing you little songs, t}-zh dremli, with your little eyes closed, bayushki bayu."
Tirzah smiles at Sage, liking the resolve in her lover's reply. "Hold on to that thought Sage. Its a powerful one. Next time you were the dress, remember it." She suggest with an encouraging smirk. Then looking back a Joshua the light comes on. "You came on the trip, wanted the plasma cannon!" She exclaims in recognition.
A soft chuckle comes at the comment about not needing to thank the hired help, before Sage shakes her head gently. "Ah... I'll keep that in mind." She comments, with a faint bemusement. She glances over towards Tirzah. "Perhaps you should be careful what you wish for..." She comments, with a mild tease. Before nodding to the woman's exclaim and gives her a look of faint amusement. Then her attention drifts briefly to the noise of the owner coming up towards the Deli main floor. Davian arrives from the Street.
"Well," Joshua replies toTirzah, shrugging. "I wouldn't 'a minded havin' it, but it worked out in the end. Few more jobs like that an' I could by ma own." He also turns to glance at the singing fellow.
Tirzah nods considering the man anew. "Might have a similar weapon for sale in a few weeks. My skill with my link to fire is starting to outpace my need for such items." She notes before giving Sage a considering glance. "Leaning over to Sage she grins and whispers. "I wish you to be three times as powerful as I, for better reasons." She claims into Sage's ear, grinning widely.
Rasputin continues to sing, as he works on the tub of whatever it is. It turns out, it is spuds. A full tub of potatoes. "The time will come, budit vremya, the pugnacious life, boldly you'll stem your foot into the stirrup, i vazmyosh ruzhyo." This hands go to work on the spuds, quickly working through pealing over a hundred spuds faster than most people can eat a double plate full of hash browns. He is very focused on his work, behind the counter.
"We all got a little something for our efforts." Sage chips in, glad to hear that the man wasn't upset about the matter of the cannon needed to be sold off to fairly share the rewards. She pauses as she remembers where some of the reward came from, but she pushes that to the back of her mind for now. She raises a brow when she looks over to Tirzah after the whisper. "Depends on how you look at it..." She comments, with a faint smile, before looking once more towards the other man's voice.
Joshua is standing at the bar, near Sage and Tirzah. He nods to Sage. "You get anymore trips like that, ya keep me in mind. Gotta have somethin' ta do while I work on ma other plans." The door to the Deli will open, though the opener, one Zachary, will be stood to the side, allowing his companion to enter the establishment before him. The courteous gesture a well practiced one, done without pausing to consider. "I was surprised to find such lean cuts here before," he tells Amber as he waits for her to step in, politely so and once she has entered, he won't be very far behind.
Amber enters the Deli, almost hopping through the doorway as she says, "Thanks you," to Zach softly, "I'm sure it'll be great, can't be worse then some of the vendors i've eaten at recently." She stops just inside the shop and she looks around, her eyes on the crowd of patrons, and she smiles, "Well lots of people here, thats always a good sign." Her eyes move to the plates before people, as if looking for inspiration.
Davian wanders in from outside, shrugging his shoulders slightly as if shaking off the outside as he enters. He blinks, as he sees a pair of people in the entry way with him, as he glances around, and smiles slightly, taking off his hat, and running a hand through his hair.
Tirzah looks back to Josh. smiling slightly. "Actually we do. Or I do, kinda the same deal as with Sage but for me this time. Gotta go back home and see an old friend. Could be lucrative, could be a bust. I'm offerring 5000 credits if its a bust." She explains, her gaze locking on Joshua to see if there's interest.
When the man requests to be kept in mind for future trips, Sage nods faintly to him. "Alright." She comments, but lets Tirzah bring up the topic of the trip she has planned. She purses her lips as she listens to the woman comment about it.
"Hmn" Joshua says thoughtfully at Tirzah's offer. "I ain't got nothin' else goin' on hereabouts, so I guess ya kin count me in. Ya kin leave messages fer me at RBJ's, or Cali's Garage. I'll be hangin' around there soon's I kin catch up with tha girl."
"If the evening before is any indication, it should be grand," Zach replies with a light smile. When Davin comes in just behind them, he glances back for a moment, considering the man for a moment before he nods once politely towards him, then continues forth with Amber. Coming to observe the gathered, he notes some familiar faces, but leaves greetings until he's come closer. "Good day," he will say to all in general with a slight nod .
Amber moves a step closer to the counter and hmms softly, "Anything here strike your fancy?" She asks Zach. She turns a bit and takes in the crowd once more, her eyes lingering here and there as she eves-drops on conversations, "People say good things about the special, so I think that's what I'm going for."
Before you is a young man, perhaps in his early twenties. Thin, and fairly tall, he is not physically imposing, really, and his shaggy black hair hanging around his face does little to make him look more menacing. A wide brimmed grey hat is set atop it, somewhat battered, really. Dark shades conceal his blue eyes, though they often slip down to reveal the deep blue of his gaze. His face is slightly gaunt, with hollow cheeks, and a slight bit of stubble grows on his chin.
Davian glances around, and tries not to intrude on the pair in front of himself. He glances over the menu, and around as he hears some of the conversation. He tries not to be too nosy, but he can't help but smile as Zach greets the room. "Hey you two. Fancy seeing you here." he says softly.
Tirzah frowns at the mention of RBJ's. "What the hell are you doing hanging out there?" She asks, stabbing into her skillet, seeming slightly offended at the mention of the place. She takes a moment to chill at the affiliation as she chews and considers the mention of Caliopa.
Glancing between the two as the other Adventure place is brought up, Sage can't help but have a little amusement in her features. She doesn't offer to defend the man, however. He seems capable of handling himself. She takes another sip of her fruit juice. "I may need to head off in a moment." She mentions instead.
Joshua shrugs a bit, and drinks from his cup before replying, "Jes' someplace ta meet 'n' mingle with other adventurer sorts. Saw it on ma way inta town, seemed like it'd be a good place ta look fer jobs of the sort I'm generally tapped fer." He glances over at Sage and reaches up to tip his hat. "Nice ta meet ya gain, ma'am."
"Well.. I don't tend to get the common items on the menu any place," Zachary notes to Amber. "But I do know what I want." Which, once he has attention from someone behind the counter, he speaks out. "A two egg omeltte, whites only with two ounces of lean ham and two ounces of cheddar, please." Yes, just that exacting. "Iced water to go with that as well." Contented with his order. He looks back to Davain again then and seems to recognize him more clearly. "Ahh.. yes, this isn't a place I come often," he confirms. "Have you had any luck with the list I gave to you yet?" Openly curious.
shakes her head, as if shaking away cob-webs and looks over at Davian, "Ah, hi, David, isn't it?" she smiles politely, "Yeah, how does the job search go?" she asks, adding to Zach's comment. She smiles her hands moving to her hips, and she shifts her weight from left to right. Her eyes moving from Davian to Zach, "One sec, before you answer," she says as she leans over the counter, "And i'll have whatever is on special, or what ever is the most popular, I guess." She finishes her order after a minute and steps back a bit, a grin on her face as she shakes her head at Zach, "You really did know what you wanted."
Amber shakes her head, as if shaking away cob-webs and looks over at Davian, "Ah, hi, David, isn't it?" she smiles politely, "Yeah, how does the job search go?" she asks, adding to Zach's comment. Having gone mostly unnoticed by the parishioners of the Deli, Rasputin continues to cut up potatoes. His soft deep voice continuing his song, giving the Deli as subtle somber musical sound track, "Bogat}r t} budish s vidu and be a cossack deep in your heart. I will hurry to accompany you,t} makhnyosh rukoi." His hands flash with the razor sharp blades he wields, his full attention on them and the song which rolls from his lips.
Davian chuckles, and shakes his head, "I've been working pretty hard for the past few days." he says quietly. "I was hoping to approach some places today, really. Figured I'd stop in and grab some breakfast first." he says, as he runs a hand through his hair, and steps up to order, "Uhm. I'll have two eggs, scrambled, with cheese and whatever vegetables you have back there." he declares, eyes drawn to the flash of the blade, as the russian man sings.
Tirzah nods reaching to find Sage's hand and give it a squeeze before she heads out. "Come see me tonight." She invites before looking back at Joshua. "Well maybe if you wanna get paid like fodder. Jelani is way better, I work there myself. Maybe I could put in a word for you. Having seen you in action once and soon to be twice." She offers, seeming intent on converting the young mercenary.
Sage lets her hand be taken and squeezed with a soft smile, "Okay." She says simply to the other woman's invitation. "Take care." She comments, before she begins to slip out of her side of the booth. "I didn't realize you sang, Rasputin." She tries to call over to the man, but figuring he might not take note of it. She begins to edge towards the door.
Joshua chuckles. "Well, a good word'd be mighty nice 'a ya. Ain't had too many jobs comin' lately. Most folk is gettin' geared up fer the troubles comin' from the Coalition, and I ain't been hiring on to those jobs jes' yet."
Zachary considers Davain for a moment before he nods once. "Well, I hope that you have luck with them." When Sage starts to go, he nods towards her. "Farewell." Softly spoken before he looks back to Davain. "We've ben considering ways to broaden Cali's business. It seems.. unfortunate to me that we haven't any room to add further help. There is, I doubt, a lack of people with possessions in need of repair or maintenance." He then nods once to Amber as he tells her, "I've long since defined many parameters around which to base the meals I eat, whether I make it personally or not."
Tirzah nods to Sage as she heads out and helps herself to more of her skillet before looking back to Joshua. "No problem at all, you should have said something sooner. just right a letter for Jelani indicating your desire to work and include me as a reference and you'll have a good chance. Better than you've got now anyways." She notes before taking a second to notice the breakfast rush is in full swing, and devote more time eating her own.
The man at the counter writes down the order from Zachary, Amber, and Davian. He turns around and slides it on the older on the stove. Rasputin notices the order get put up. He doesn't miss a beat of his song, as he flips the paring knife point down into the cutting board, "How many secrete bitter tears ya f tu notsh pralyu! Sleep, my angel, calmly, sweetly, bayushki bayu." he walks over and washes his hands, then to the stove he goes. The same expert hands making up the large order for three new comers. He continues his song, "I will die from longing, byesutyeshno zhdat', I will pray the whole day long, po notsham gadat." His voice softens, till it is nothing more than a hum, and the *cling* *clang* *crack* of his work. With of course, as very lovely sizzle of some pastrami for the special.
Amber notes the farewell with an arched eyebrow and a small smirk, though she says nothing as she listens to Zach and Davian talk, her eyes on Sage as she leaves. "At least your keeping busy, so thats a good thing." she offers, her attention seemingly elsewhere.
Davian nods to the woman who passes him genteely, as he slips out of the way. He mmmms, "Well, what all do you fix? It is my experience that with a broad enough aim, you'll never lack for work." he says with a smile, and a shrug. "But it's not always easy attracting buisiness in such a big town." "I did wander by the Knights hospital, just to see where it was. Are they hiring surgeons, do you think?
Joshua nods. "Will do." He gathers up his order, which has been placed in a bag. "Thanks fer the advice, and the conversation. Gotta get ta gettin' now, so you take care, miss." He tips his hat and starts to head for the door.
When the short man engulfed in his song and work doesn't seem to notice her comment, Sage takes it in stride as she's noticed the man's focus on other occasions. She simply gathers up her cloak from the coat rack and heads out.
"Truth be told, there is little that is mechanical that I cannot fix given time and tools," Zach replies. "I have experience with all manner of machines, from small appliances to powered armor and robots. Though I don't have experience with designing aircraft. I could fix one's engine, but don't have experience with the principals of aerodynamics involved. I've been considering the potential of seeking regular contracts with some of the mercenary outfits in the city." He looks towards Amber. "Perhaps with the added work and income, there would be enough room for you to work full time." He then looks to Davain. "And perhaps you, though I could give no promise for such a thing. But it seems a lucrative field of work, with the conflict to come at Tolkeen."
Amber looks a bit more somber at that, "Its just a matter of time, i'd think before we start seeing a build up even here, and that's gotta be good for business. " She looks over towards where her meal is being prepared and takes a long deep breath through her nose, "Smells so good." she says as she rubs her stomach, the movement unconcious.
Davian nods, and mmms, "I can do basic maintenance. And.. well, I've got a knack. I'm good with all manner of machines if I have the time to.. uh.. get to know them." he says with a shrug, and a smile. "But with conflict, it may be that there is more need for my services as a healer." he says with a shrug and a smile. "I guess I'll just see where the world leads me." pose nods, taking a break from her meal one last time. "Don't mention it." She insists to the departing Joshua before finishing her skillet and juice and heading out herself.
